any idea how an American can get her hands on one of these?

Play doesn't seem to ship here and Amazon doesn't have it in stock. Other options?

I've got a copy of the 2006-2007 guides from the library which I have gone through serveral times to plan my trip. Do you think it is worth getting the new one? What new information is there in it?

By the way, I too think this is THE BEST guide on DLRP!!

Well I've had a good look through my book and it has made me all confused now!! lol

I thought I had sorted what I was doing and where I am eating and now I'm all in a whirl!!!

The author listed 10 must do things and one of them was eat in the Blue Lagoon. Why? What's so special about that place? He also mentioned the Silver Spur.

The Blue Lagoon is set inside POTC ride. It's ever so romantic in there ~ you'll forget you're in the middle of a theme park and think you're on a desert island! :cloud9: We've been there twice and enjoyed our food both times but it's worth going just for the experience alone. :thumbsup2 Some people say it's a "must" to have a table by the water's edge but we've sat there and further back and both have been great places to sit.

The Silver Spur is definitely on our "to-do" list ~ check out the pictures in our Restaurant Reviews. :)

id add a tip to the book tho, get your kids a big stuffed mickey or dlp clothes on ebay before you go, present them to the kids on the eve of the trip and they wont then ask for huge expensive dlp toys :rolleyes1

I had to ask for the book though as they hadn't been put out yet, so it's worth checking if you don't see it.)

there are some updates, the three new rides in the studios tower of terror and cruch's coaster, and the cars rally. also something has opened abck up in adventureland that had been tipped for the junk yard. cant recall now what it was, the canoe thing apparently. other than that, it is pretty much the same book. still worht a re-read tho if you are going again and a MUST for first timers

Cheers.

DON'T BUY THIS OFF AMAZON!!!!

I went to and when i got to paying the total was £16.00!!!

So i went to play.com and it was £7.49 inc. delivery

lots of new pics, new tips and an update on the studios! always nice to keep up to speed with the parks no matter how small the changes and £7.50 isn't totally breaking the bank

There's my review :thumbsup2

I can't find the 2008-2009 version in the US. On Amazon, even if I select (pay for) 2-day shipping it says 4-7 weeks with an estimate of up to April 21st to get it...too late! AbeBooks doesn't have the new edition here and Play.com doesn't deliver here. Other ideas to get in the US?

With no trip planned in the near future I thought buying this could wait, I even saw it in my local Waterstones and managed to resist. Funny how seeing it on Play and ordering it is so easy, in the face of supposed resistance! It has been posted and will be here in a few days - guess we can start looking for things in a whole new light, with a little one in mind!

Even though I have ordered it I couldn't resist a sneak peak in Waterstones today - looks great, though the previous edition did benefit from having people from this very message board credited in it - wonder who they were? :rolleyes1

I must admit, I don't think the Brits' guide is great (I've had mine for a couple of weeks). But I think there are a couple of reasons behind this - one, I've done so much online research that it doesn't feel like it's telling me anything new, and two, before we decided to go to DLRP this year and leave WDW for when DD is older, I was given The Unofficial Guide to WDW With Kids, which is fantastic. Brits' guide seems a disappointment after that - the Unofficial Guide is so incredibly detailed and has lots and lots of general tips.

I wouldn't say there's anything WRONG with the Brits' Guide though, and where it has been useful is in allowing me to methodically go through the attractions one by one, and figure out what we're interested in (and what DD is too little for), without having to struggle through the DLRP website.
