Hi liberty- Yes they do

i printed it off, I faxed it, then posted it (just to make doubly sure!!!) and they accepted the scan straight off (I emailed them to double check and they are quite prompt at replying as a few hours later they mailed me back with my snew hareholders number) then a week later i recieved the temporary certificate in the post.

Yes I filled out the form online then after you have filled in your details you print it off, read it carefully, sign it and write next to your signature something like "i have read and understood" (It does say what to put)

then fax that off with your invoice (yup for 5 shares) you can always chase it with an email and they are very good at responding

form can be found here: (hope this works!)

What is the shareholders club? (Yes, I'm new here...)

The holding company Euro Disney SCA is only traded on the Paris Stock Exchange, having delisted from London nad New York.
That aside if you can find a way to purchase shares there are some valuable benefits from beinga member of the shareholders club... discount on table service restaurants, access to Salon Mickey, invitation to special events. All is revealed here (http://corporate.disneylandparis.com/shareholders/shareholders-club/index.xhtml) :)

I purchased 20 shares today through my broker so I think that gets me the shareholder club for free. Right?

It means that your two year membership has no fee, but you'll still have to apply :)

I have the form all completed, now I'm just waiting for the written documentation from my broker. Odd, I own no WDW stock but now I own EuroDisney! I just couldn't see spending that much for a two year membership fee. I'd rather spend the money to own stock instead.

Depends if you emailed them or not! :) if you emailed them they will get back to you really quickly (i emailed them to ask if the selftrade print off was acceptible!) and they emailed me the next day with my new account number!

if you posted the forms you will get a reply by post in about 7-10 days it was very quick

If you buy shares first you get a 15% discount on APs!

go to selftrade.co.uk set up an account (I set up a shares ISA) then transfer about £41 into this account (thats how much it cost me!) you can pay by cheque, bank transfer or debit/credit card but you need to have money in your account with them first, then search for "EDL" thats the name for the Disneyland PAris shares and then buy minimum of 5.

The £41 covered the 5 shares and the brokers fee and then they send you confirmation of purchase which you print off and send to DLP after you fill out their online form and voila!

Hi,
I've just joined the site so please be patient with me!!
We are planning a trip to DLP in October this year & I've been looking through the posts daily picking up ideas & getting lots of advice (thanks everyone!!)

Anyway, I'm thinking of buying shares like you guys, as I feel this won't be our one& only trip to DLP (been to WDW twice - fab!)

I've looked through the share info on the DLP site & think I'm getting confused somewhere - how many shares do I need to buy to becomea share holder? The DLP site says 500 at least, but someofteh postings here are saying 5 (20 not to have to pay membership fees).

Can somebody help me!?!??

Thanks a million

Minimum of 5 if you buy 20 that's the end of it any less than 20 you have to pay a 30 euro admin fee every two years to the shareholders club:

It used to be 500 shares but they have now restructured the shares so for people who already have shares they would be consolidated to new shares, for every 100 you owned will now become 1. Therefore anyone buying shares now will only be able to purchase the new ones. You need a minimum of 5 shares to join the shareholders club & pay the fee or have the fee waivered if you buy 20 shares.

HTH:thumbsup2

So, can I just buy 20 shares of Euro Disney stock on something like eTrade and then just be a member of the shareholder's club for free? As a US stock holder is there anything I should be aware of? Seems like a fun way to diversify the portfolio, but want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Thanks...

Yes, that's exactly right. You have to do the paperwork to join the shareholders club, it isn't automatic just because you bought the stock. I just got my card last week so I'm all set!

You will also need to renew it every 2 years like all members, the difference being if you own 20 shares the fee is waivered each time.

Thanks for the info! My DH and I have been talking about opening up an eTrade account and I finally found a reason to go ahead and do it. And once we are members of the EuroDisney Shareholders club, well then we'll just have to make the trip to DLP. We did go to Paris last year on our way to Barcelona for the Mediterranean cruise, but didn't have enough time to see Disneyland (couldn't justify skipping the Eiffle Tower to ride another version of Space Mountain)...but next trip, I will go!

I'm thinking this is probably not a very good investment though...I'll consider it membership dues. :rotfl:

My broker tried to purchase 25 shares for me today but was told he had to buy a minimum purchase of $5,000.00! I read some of the others from the US buying small amounts, what firm are you using?

Wow! :scared1: I used Scottrade and purchased 25 shares for what amounted to a little over $300, by the time the commission and fees were added in. I couldn't make the purchase online, and had to call my local Scottrade branch office. But the fellow I talked to was more than accommodating, and the transaction took place pretty painlessly. :thumbsup2

Yep, that's what I gave him. I have opened an etrade account but apparently can't purchase anything for 7 days after opening. Hopefully I can make the purchase by next week. I've already lost money since it has gone from $11 to $11.55 today! This is why I am doing this way in advance of our trip! You never know what snags you are going to hit!

Thanks for the help!
