Hi Girls!
Well we are back from a very busy day with our site visit. We started off by leaving very early in the morning and driving out to Orlando. I was really really excited to finally go inside Franck's as I had only ever peeked in through the windows. We go there right on time and told the girl that we were there to see Joe. JOE ROCKS!!! He took us into the Fauna room (and can I say that I love that all of the rooms are named after the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty...) In there he went thru a basic overview of our day, and asked a lot of questions... how many people would we have, how many BMs, GMs, kids, Grandparents, etc. Then he started answering the questions that I had posted on my PJ the day before. I was a little surprised and asked if he reads the Dis. As an answer to that he pulled out a printout of my post!!! (Hi Joe :wave2: ) I loved that, I think it's really the best way to prepare for a meeting.
So, some of his answers about the jazz trio are: Yes, we can defintley have one. The instruments vary he said that you usually get a drum, some sort of brass and something else. The something else could be anything from an ACCORDIAN (:scared1: ) to a bass guitar.
After we went over my very long list of questions (because I brought more questions than what I posted) We took a walk over to the WP. I had peeked in the other day to see it and I was super excited to be going back in.
He showed us the Brides Vestibule (which I had never seen before)

and
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/Carynswedding027.jpg
I liked the Brides room a lot. Love those telephones. Totally getting a picture with it!
Then we went over to the Grooms room, which was nice, but not nearly as nice as the Brides room. Joe told Chris that an hour before the ceremony he'd be put in the grooms room to wait. To which his response was "it is going to be a REALLY long hour in that room" So I told him that the room wasn't a jail cell and he could walk around and say hello to our guests and then when I was coming over someone would make him hide in the room and that would be fine.
(The Groom's Room)

So then we went into the actual WP and went over the ceremony and where everyone would stand. We walked over to Picture Point and saw that. We asked about music that we would play (I would like the Soarin' music play during the time when our guests are seated) Joe said that if I can find that on a CD that'd be fine. I took a pic (I know its the same one that everyone else takes, but it's just so pretty)
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/Carynswedding029.jpg
After that we drove over to Epcot, we took the same route that our busses will take on wedding day. We walked in through the back of France and over to the island. While there we talked about seating arrangements (which seriously, is the most stressful and confusing thing we've encountered so far) I had envisioned cocktail tables and those high tables and a walk around. Chris and my father think that there should be banquet tables and chairs for everyone. If we go with the banquet tables we are going to need the whole island upper and lower. Joe said that we could probably fit everyone on upper, but it would be tight... I'd rather spend a couple hundred dollars to have all of that extra space and not have people sitting on top of each other.
So we took some pictures
These are lower French

Overall I was really pleased with what I've seen so far. I know that no matter what we pick, or what happens Disney is going to make this great and they won't let me do something that is horrid.
Joe sent us home with the big information package that has the sample STD (which btw, Chris thought it was HILARIOUS that the abbreviation for Save The Date is STD) and all of the menu lists. (YUM)
After our meeting with Joe we went straight over to Randy's studio. I know you guys might be a little surprised, but WE BOOKED RANDY. We met with him (and his wife) and were able to see all of his pictures in person. I tell you, that made all the difference. The colors pop in his pics so much more when you see them in person and not on screen. He was very receptive to my not wanting to have my pictures be the same as Caryn. He offered a lot of ideas for different things we could do. So we took his package list and told him we'd be making a desicion in the next few days. We took his list and the list from the Roots and sat down to compare prices over lunch. Randy won by a lot of money.
Then, right after we got home Randy to called to say that another Disney bride had called him about our date!! OH NO!!!:scared: So we told Randy that we would like to book him. (If this other bride is reading this I'M SORRY) Now we just have to fill out a form for him and mail it in. I should have thought to ask Randy if this girl told him where and what time her ceremony would be. (I really want my 5pm WP ceremony, not the 7:30 time... I can't stay up that late) We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that we get our date and time.
I also got new glasses and contacts yesterday if anyone cares.
Then, DF surprised me after dinner with the Enchanted DVD. I watched the movie on the plane last weekend and informed him that Enchanted needed to be in my easter basket.
Today we are going to drop Gram's dress off at the restorer place. We'll see how that works out. I'm starting to stress about it, because if it doesn't turn out perfectly or I don't like it, I'm not going to want to wear it, but I don't want to disapoint anyone by not wearing it. But still, I want to look and feel perfect on my wedding day... Chris keeps telling me that it's my wedding and I should do whatever I want, but that's hard. We'll just hope that it comes out beautifully and I won't have to worry.
I'll keep you all posted.

(Hi Joe :wave2: )
Hi Joe :wave2: from a former disney bride!
To which his response was "it is going to be a REALLY long hour in that room"
remember that brick i bought you??? USE IT!
(I would like the Soarin' music play during the time when our guests are seated) Joe said that if I can find that on a CD that'd be fine.
on the subject of music, you happen to now be related to world famous DJ Mark D and he has graciously offered you a discount to perform at your wedding!!!
Chris and my father think that there should be banquet tables and chairs for everyone.
I'm buying you another brick for daddy. seating arrangements are not fun. SERIOUSLY. just make sure everyone has a seat somewhere and WHAMMO we're done...
Joe said that we could probably fit everyone on upper, but it would be tight... I'd rather spend a couple hundred dollars to have all of that extra space and not have people sitting on top of each other.
if you pack us in like sardines i'm jumping ship and will be the next addition to illuminations...
I also got new glasses and contacts yesterday if anyone cares.
i don't...

you'll disappoint me if you don't get out of this mindset. this is YOUR wedding...if you don't like something, then TOUGH, it's gone-o-ramma! tell them all to
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/lemonlogo.jpg
hi meg  !
Chris keeps telling me that it's my wedding and I should do whatever I want, but that's hard.
ok. i take one brick comment away for that display of reasonable-ness...
i'm off to the park for 3 mile jog...

caryn i just have to say that you are SO WEIRD!!!!!!!!! I mean really really weird. Lin randy sounds great and im sure that he'll make your day special for you and not like caryns. your wedding will be beautiful im sure. now as for the dress... just go and see what he says. dont make any plans in your head or have a straight idea until you listen to him and see what hes got to say. it will be harder for you to keep an open mind about it all if you have a stead fast idea of what you want before you know what he can do. see what he says THEN decide what you want. just a sisters opinion here :) . also, no one will be mad at you if you decide not to wear the dress lin. its your day and you need to feel happy and beautiful and proud to be wearing what your going to wear. if you dont, the day wont feel as special. so when you go to the shop just remember that no one is gonna not come to the wedding or yell at you or get upset with you if you dont wear it .. the idea was wonderful and im sure everyone will think your beautiful no matter what you wear. ok im going now. bye

There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with Caryn. As much as we'd LOVE Mark to DJ, no. We can't have any amplified music.
I'm sure you'll make a smashing addition to Illuminations. Maybe you could fly out of the globe.

I agree Meg. Caryn is a freak. Mom must have dropped her. See below for a dress update

Isn't it the best movie??? I was pretty surprised with how funny it is. I suggested that DF and I name our future child Andolasia. I don't think DF was amused

Bad News About The Dress
Well DF and I took Gram's dress to the dress guy today. The man was SUPER nice and extremely helpful. He told us that there are parts of the dress that just can't be saved. There were some stains that started to dissolve the fabric around the arms and up top that he wouldn't be able to fix. He also said that he wasn't going to be able to clean the buttons because they had metal in them and would rust. Then he gave us the really bad news. It's going to take SIX MONTHS and cost $650. And that is just to clean it. After that I would have to find a seamstress and have her create a dress for me. We figure that would be at least another $600 and another 6 months which takes us to a month before the wedding. So we've decided that we aren't going to redo Gram's dress. Caryn made a bunch of good suggestions about what we could do with some of the lace (use some to wrap the handle of my bouquet for example) I told Gram and she was dissapointed but understood. (She says hi girls... I told her that I needed to call her before I posted on my PJ) So I've spent the bulk of the afternoon looking at wedding dresses online. So far I like Maggie Sottero syle Capri and Davinci Bridals style 8220 and T8175. I've found a store around me that carries some of them and some stores around my parents house that carry some, so I think I'll be okay on the dress front. I'm glad I didn't wait to have the dress looked at though. So... I'm a little disapointed but I'll live.

davinci made my dress! i LOVE:love: the 8220. i don't like the other one. it's too similar to mine as is the maggie sottero. the 8220 in the champagne is GORGEOUS i saw it when i tried my dress on. i think that's the dress lisa is wearing for her VR...but hers is red. better yet, i DARE you to wear the red one...
EDIT: btw, all of those dresses are on ebay super cheap. the davinci ones are being sold by the same person i bought mine from. they are fantastic and i totally recommend them. as will daddy because they are 1/2 the price of the bridal salons...

Yes, Caryn. I thought that. Unfortunately the bridal shop by me doesn't carry the 8220. There is one by Mom and Dad's house that carries it. I'll probably try to pop in while I'm home for Mary's wedding. I looked on ebay and I found a few of the stores that sell them, but I don't want to buy a dress without trying them on first.
We'll see. Cordelia and I just had a lovely time dying easter eggs. Yes, she tried to eat the dye and had a blast splashing it all over the kitchen table.

Don't even laugh about it Amanda!!! Randy was shocked that as we looked at his pictures I was saying things like "Oh there's Maggie!" and "OOHH look, it's Hula Girl..." I didn't see any of your pictures hanging out in the studio though... Joe, however, sends his love. He was equally amused about my Disfriends

So Lindsay, did you get your movie? I got mine! Love it! LOL on naming your future daughter, Andalasia.
Very sorry to hear about Gram's dress. But sounds like you & Caryn have some fabulous ideas about incorporating it into your wedding, which will still be very special. On the plus side, it is great that you were able to find out now that it could be a problem. Imagine finding out too late that the cleaning or something didn't work and then having unnecessary dress drama.... :scared:
Have fun with your dress search!

Thanks! Yes, I did get Enchanted which I am now totally in love with :lovestruc . Sigh.... McDreamy is so dreamy in that movie.
Unnecessary dress drama was really the turning point for me saying no to the dress. I didn't want it to be a month before the wedding and I go to pick it up and I hate it. I am so lucky to have Caryn hanging around with different dress ideas for me. I was actually thinking that maybe I'll take some of the lace and make a shawl.

Thanks!!! Welcome to my PJ. I am so jealous that you live near Disneyland. I went there a few years ago and just fell in love. (My favorite parts are the Sleeping Beauty pictures on the castle walls and the Sleepy Beauty drinking fountain...)
And now an update on my guestbook
UPS shipped it to the WRONG APARTMENT!!!! Worse than that, they left it on the front step on Thursday and NO ONE LIVES THERE!!!! So now UPS, the Ebay seller and myself are actively trying to find it. I was pretty upset about it last night, but as BM Mary pointed out there will be more (In the past month there have been 3 on ebay) and we have time. And I used my cc so I'll at least get my money back. But still. How annoying.

since the dress is so cheap, we can get zippers sewn in the back so the buttons won't be an issue. i think this one is good for all sizes and shapes. ME LIKEY.

Caryn do you not recall our previous conversations about this dress? Let me refresh your memory. 1.) No one can try it on. I don't want people to spend $90 on a dress without the option to try it on first.
2.) To have it taken in and shortened (because they are all too long) and add a zipper will be at least $150 (my dress for Mary's wedding was $100 for alterations and they took 2 inches off the bottom and half and inch off each shoulder... the alterations for your wedding were $150 as well)
3.) The smallest size available on the website is 4. I don't think that will fit you and Megan.
5.) The sash is $39.99 and they don't have it in pink
6.) It's not navy nor is it available in navy. :cool2:
Other than that it's lovely.
Since you didn't even BOTHER to ask about my UPS drama, I'll tell you about it. My apartment complex called the person who (appartently) lives in the other apartment and my box is being delivered to the front desk as we speak (hopefully):cheer2:

I love that you used the pot stirring smiley (it's my favorite one) I read online somewhere (right around the time that Caryn was deciding that we'd wear those dresses at her wedding) that they were actual buttons and not a zipper. So that was pretty much the end of that. I don't have the patience for all of those buttons. N.O. (PS, totally enjoying your TR. I tried to convince DF that we could wear hats like those. I was told no, absolutely not. Your DH is more fun than my DF :rolleyes1 )

:cheer2: :yay: :dance3: The GUESTBOOK IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:
My apartment complex tracked down my package from UPS. Apparently it was delivered to a different apartment and they happen to be expecting a package too. So they opened it and it wasn't what they ordered and then read the label with my name on it. They assumed that someone would be looking for it so they kept it figuring UPS would say that they shipped it to their apartment. So everything worked out fine.
Here are some pictures of the book

Apparently the actual movie prop is in the Walt Disney Archives. I MUST WORK IN THAT BUILDING!!!! How cool!!! (I was a history major and I REALLY wanted to work in a museum. It fits perfectly!) lindsay, the book is beautiful. i see what you mean when you say the box part isn't that deep. we can make cards (please don't use index cards, that's just hood ghetto) that match your programs or invitations.
for the programs, i was thinking that we could incorporate the mickey fan and the invitation design...we can make mini mickey's for the guest book.

Caryn, please do not use the term "hood ghetto" in my PJ
I'm not totally in love with the mickey fan. I think that if we have Sleeping Beauty elements and some pirate elements (I'm putting the little boys in Capt Hook costumes and having them carry the rings and flower petals in treasure chests) that adding in mickey elements will be too much. Programs with the invitation stamp would be fine. I like doing a mini version of the program for the guest book. That will be nice

i'll make little cards for the guest book with the stamp on half of the light pink card stock.
we can do a tri-fold program or something similar, i agree with the mickey. too much...i just thought you wanted them. that pink paper is very easy to work with and it's nice when everything matches. we can also do the place cards like that too...

Thanks!!! Welcome to my PJ. I am so jealous that you live near Disneyland. I went there a few years ago and just fell in love. (My favorite parts are the Sleeping Beauty pictures on the castle walls and the Sleepy Beauty drinking fountain...)
It has been really great to live so close to DL... i'm away at school right now and i've met some really awesome Disney fans... we love just randomly going for a few hours spontaneously.... i've gotten so spoiled though... u'd have to drag me there kicking and screaming in the summer...:rotfl2:

ok... i have to know... how can i get a job at the Walt Disney Archives? I'm also a history major and, besides teaching, there's not a whole lot of options... but I can't imagine how wonderful it would b to study Disney for a living! :woohoo:

My favorite thing about doing my runs now is that I get some much needed time to myself to think about what I want to do for the wedding. I start week 5 on the "couch to 5k" program that I'm doing. I'm a little nervous, but think I'll be okay!!!

Hi, Lindsay I'm so happy for you and Chris! I intended to post here sooner but kept getting sidetracked. Reading all 20 pages of this took quite awhile but was fun. (Honestly, the things I do for you Craig girls!)
Hi, Jayne, Toni & all the rest of the family who check in here. Wahoo! We're going to another Disney wedding. :dance3: (Note to Caryn - be sure Lindsay puts your in-laws on the guest list. Oh, shoot, you'll probably wind up making them - just send one anyway. Nana Katz)
I'm sorry your grandmother's dress didn't work out. But incorporating some of it into whatever you choose is a really nice idea.
A few thoughts: 1) listen to your big sister Caryn. She is so-o-o-o creative and talented. Then make your own decisions - whose wedding is this anyway??? You two will get to drive Megan crazy when it's her turn (just something to look forward to). 2) Randy is fantastic and he will NOT make your wedding pics look like Caryn's. 3) This is a happy occasion, so enjoy the process! Caryn is not really Bridesmaidzilla in training. She' just a frustrated wedding planner. As her MIL, I will do my best to distract her if she gets carried away. 4) What do you mean, you don't want your new brother-in-law to be your DJ??? This is DJ Mark D we're talking about here! Not to mention my son!:rotfl2:
To all you wonderful Disney Brides reading this, congratulations, especially for deciding to be married at Disney World. Mark & Caryn's wedding was just beautiful. One tip: buy those bride ears/veil & wear them everywhere on the property. You get so many perks! Think I'll get myself some to wear when we're there for Lindsay's wedding . . .

Yesterday I went dress shopping with a fellow Disney bride who is also from Tampa. First, I have to say how WONDERFULLY FABULOUS she is. She took her whole Saturday to go dress shopping with me, a complete stranger and I absolutely couldn't have done it without her. It was so nice to have a person who a.) has done this before and b.) understands the importance of sneaking in pictures for a PJ!!!
We started out at this random shop which carried the Davinci Bridal and had style 8220. That was the first dress I tried on. We did not pick this. I don't know if it was the fabric, or if it was 6 sizes too big or the fact that it's red, but no. Definitly not. It made me look boxy. This dress needs to be worn by a person with more curves and hips and things.
Some pictures
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/Carynswedding042-1.jpg
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/Carynswedding043.jpg
Then Disney bride picked out a dress that was similar but that she described as hideous. So I tried it on and I completely understood what people mean when they talk about a "the one" moment. I am not going to post the pic of me in the dress. DF already accidentally saw the picture but I'm hoping he forgets. As you know, he reads the PJ so I don't want him to stumble upon it again. (Needless to say, it may have been hideous on the rack, but it was not hideous in person. I think it might have been the bolero that comes with the dress was hanging weird and looked funny)
http://www.marysbridal.com/bridal/5726.htm
I will, of course, be wearing my hair that way. I mean, wouldn't you?
After I tried that one on I was pretty much ready to stop, but Disney Bride told me that I shouldn't decide this quickly and I needed to try on a few more. So we went to another bridal shop and didn't find anything to sing about. We had some lunch and then went over to the Demetrios salon. I tried on a few more dresses there and ended up having another "the one' moment. It is essentially the same exact dress as the one above, except that the pick ups are a little more random. It's Demetrios style 2787 which, of course, isn't on their website. After seeing this dress I decided it was the actual one... and we were done shopping.
However, then I got home. The picture of the Demetrios wasn't on the website and I realized that the two dresses were nearly identical. The Mary's bridal dress is half the price of the Demetrios dress and it comes with a cute little bolero. So I'm going to sleep on it for a few more days and I think then I'll be able to make a final desicion. Both dresses are beautiful and I know that both of them will be perfect. And as I told DF, the extra $600 dollars that we'll save can go to something else (like a confetti cannon).
I think that no matter which dress I pick I'm going to have it made into a sweetheart neckline (both are straight strapless dresses) a sweetheart just looks nicer.

Small teeny tiny update. DF and I (well, really just me) decided that we should celebrate our 12 month mark. So I made reservations for us at Chefs de France!!! I've never eaten there, but we figured we should be in France. I'm excited!

We were finally able to book our engagement photo shoot with Randy!!! :yay: :woohoo: I'm super excited. Linda gave us a pretty close date (I'm not going to put the actual date since everyone knows I live in Florida I'd rather not make announcements like "We're not going to be home! Please come steal from us." Cordelia isn't really a guard kitty. She'd hide behind the couch :confused3 )
Anyway, Linda said that if we couldn't do that date our NEXT AVAILABLE DATE WAS JULY 13TH!!!!!!!!! :scared1: So happy we can make it the first day he's available.
We're taking pics at Poly. DF really likes it there (and maybe we can schedule in an early Ohana breakfast :rolleyes1 )
Question about attire for this. I already have a cute outfit picked out but what about the rest of me. I wear glasses, but plan to wear contacts for our wedding. I always wear my hair up in a bun. I'll wear it that way for the wedding. I was thinking of having my hair trimmed and styled that day and wearing it down. Is that weird if I don't usually wear my hair down though? Should I wear my glasses? I'm more comfortable in them but I'm just not sure.

For your hair, go with whatever way you feel most beautiful. I usually wear my hair up (lazy, in a ponytail), but I certainly fell more beautiful with it down. When I know that I need to look good, I always curl it and wear it down. You might feel different about it though. I don't know if I would get it cut on the same day as the pictures though. Prolly not a good idea.

I am the same way- glasses on hair ponytail most of the time! I didnt do engagement pix- but I think if I did I would have my hair down- not sure about the glasses- could always take them off in some pix! I'm doing contacts for my wedding too!
Chilly
04-03-2008, 11:28 AM
Could you do both? Have contacts in then take them out half way through and put your glasses on. Have your hair up then take it down half way through?

04-03-2008, 12:22 PM
I wear glasses all the time but wore contacts for my engagement shoot and for my wedding because I am vain. :rotfl:
I wore my hair up for the engagement pix because I had my hair and makeup trial with Patricia that day and wanted to see what it would all look like in pix. I'm glad I did because I could tell looking at them that I needed different colors, less (read: no) bronzer, and longer lasting lipstick! :thumbsup2

For those of you that don't know us... nearly 20 years ago my mother decided that she had to have a picture of the three of us wearing white pants, white shirts and no shoes. This picture is hideous. A horrible representation of our pre-pubescent years. For my parents 25th anniversary we went (all three of us) and got a new picture taken hoping that they would take down the white one. Nope. They hung them up next to each other.
Caryn, I told mom you said this. She wasn't amused.

First off, no one should ever see that picture.
Second, I agree with Caryn, wear the glasses you always wear them and if you want them off for a few shots, take them off you don't have to see to be photographed. That is what I did.
So the real reason I came to put a comment on (and then felt the need to chime in) was because i have bad news.....your wedding is ebay cursed.
So I bought the sleeping beuaty glasses over two weeks ago (I posted about them) and they have not arrived yet. So I emailed the seller and it turns out she sent them to someone else.
Don't fret, they have already been sent back to her and she will be sending them to me today. But between that and your book you are cursed. Luckily UPS is helpful in uncursing you.

Hi, Lindsay
I've seen you with and without glasses - you look just as pretty either way. Same thing with your hair. Chris obviously adores you whether you're all fancied up or not. I wore contacts for my wedding (a million years ago) because I wore them more then. You haven't seen me in glasses because I had the corrective surgery 10 years ago.
You do what makes you happiest and comfortable.
And Caryn, stop picking on your younger sister. Play nice! I hope Lindsay puts that photo on here that your parents took of y'all in the white shirt and pants. Don't make me go to NJ just to see it.

I'm ignoring all further comments about the dreaded white picture....
So, a few days ago I emailed Joe totally flipping out about the rain and how we are having a totally outside location. I was having nightmares about being stuck in an ugly room with no nice decorations so I went to Joe to see if he could help figure out a plan.
My original question was, can we keep the 5pm ceremony time and do AAR instead?
Joe came back with a few things for me.
1.) He said that he understands that I would be concerned about the weather and that Epcot does it's very best to accomodate brides in the event of rain. (and I'm not doubting that they do... It's just so nerve wracking to not know where our rain backup is....)
2.) He suggested, but doesn't reccommend doing a 5pm ceremony, cocktail hour on isola, dinner inside AAR and then back out to isola for fireworks. He thinks it's too rushed. (Caryn agrees, I think I agree too)
The problem is that you can't use AAR until 7pm. (Which I think is stupid)
3.) He suggested (and recommended) that we move to the 7:30 ceremony, have the French Island cocktail hour and then go to AAR.
Option 2 is out. It is too rushed and I don't want people to feel like we are going in and out constantly. Obviously my problem with option 1 is that we don't know where we'll end up if it rains. He said that we *might* get China as a backup (which would TOTALLY rock) but again, he can't guarantee that. I have a few problems with option 3, but none of them are as large as the problem with option 2. My option 3 problems are: the ceremony at 7:30 makes for a late party and eating dinner late.... I turn into a pumpkin at midnight, and I don't want to be tired. DF was pretty adamant about not seeing each other before the ceremony, but then we won't really have any pictures together if we don't see each other.... We need to have 100 people. I think we'll have 100 but I'm not sure. Caryn only had 60.
So, what do you think? Should we risk rain? Should we risk me turning into a pumpkin?

What is the likelihood of rain at this time of year in Orlando? If, in the past 50years, it has rained every single day of April and May, then you should probably go with Option 3. If it doesn't usually rain, I'd say go for your original location. The probablility of it raining AND not getting China as your backup is pretty small. If you don't like to be up late, then it'd be silly to have a party that goes into the wee hours (imagine the bleary-eyed pics). Besides, if best case scenario is outdoor ceremony, then pick the option that gets you the best chance at that (and if it rains, you'll be so busy with all of the wedding craziness that it might not even matter that you didn't have your first choice).

i know you're going to hate this idea, but maybe you should move your ceremony site so that you're not stuck with the times there...just a thought.
i think that you should either stick with #1 or go to #3. i'm not a fan of seeing each other before, but that's just me. also, i don't think you'll get tired. i think you can take some nyquil and get a good nights sleep the night before, then we'll have a late brunch at o'hana and by the time that's over, you'll have to start the hair and make up parade. so the 7:30 isn't as late as it seems since there are so many things that need to go on that day...

delurking to give my completely irrelevant opinion.
1. dh and and I saw each other before and it was just us, alone, and very romantic and special, and once the wedding started it was just a whirlwind for the next 4-5 hrs. I've never regretted having those few quiet minutes with dh. 12 yrs and 4 kids later = happily ever after ;)
2. I'd go with #1, I think its what you really want, and its not likely to rain this time of year..... if it doesn't rain but you change it, because you think it "might" will you regret not having those venues?
3. With at least 100 guests, what are the possible backup options? China and ???? are some really icky or are there many options?
4. I'm really loving your planning journal, I read Caryn's and was happy to see yours. Making notes for my princess princess:

I say go with what you've really wanted which seems like Option #1. I'm sure whatever Disney does to accomodate you if the weather acts up would be beautiful. I think the odds are in your favor for good weather.
If it rains, it rains, nothing you can do about it. You can let Disney worry about it and still have a fabulous day. But like My Princess Livy said, if you do go with a second choice location and it doesn't rain...you might have more regrets because it seems like you have your heart set on your 1st pick location.
I love that your mom is here, I love that Caryn is so fresh, I love that Mama Katz is here, and I'm dying to see the white picture whether it's being spoken of or not :rotfl:

I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE WEATHER ALSO. MY BACK UP WAS AAR, BUT I DIDN'T NEED IT, YOU HAVE TILL 3 HRS PRIOR TO CHANGE YOUR LOCATION TO BACK UP. I LOVED ISOLA, PLUS ITS CLOSER TO AAR THAN FRANCE:confused3
DO WHAT YOU HAVE YOUR HEART SET ON, I ONLY HAD 50 GUESTS, IT WAS FINE, MY 730 CEREMONY WAS GREAT, I WAS A LITTLE TIRED BY END OF NIGHT, BUT IT GOES SO FAST YOU DON'T REALIZE IT TILL YOU SIT DOWN AT HOTEL. WE ONLY DID COCTAIL LIKE FOOD WITH BAR, FOR RECEPTION, AND IT WAS FINE, MOST OF OUR GUESTS HAD EATEN PRIOR TO CEREMONY ANYWAYS, YOU REALLY DONT NEED TO DO A FULL DINNER THAT LATE WHICH CAN SAVE MONEY FOR OTHER THINGS! this is a quote from the other thread. that way you don't have to see each other. you can have your bridal portraits, family pics etc during the day and the wedding pics at night. if you hurry through the ceremony (ie: i do, i do, we're done) then you'll get sunset pics at the wp while we go drink...
Hey Lindsey~
We Didn't See Each Other Before The Ceremony Either, We Had 730 At Wp Then Reception Followed At Italy In Epcot We Were Insistent To Make It To Illuminations For The Picts Randy Was Great And We Made It To Epcot About 20 Min Before Illuminations, We Still Got Picts Done In Wp, And Outside Under Arbor. We Didn't Get Daytime Photos, But We Had A Nighttime Wedding And Wanted To Remember It That Way, We Still Had Tons Of Great Picts!, Randy Actually Came To Get Me And My Girls At 5 Pm At Wilderness Lodge And We Went And Took Lots Of Picts In The Daylight Then He Met The Guys At Grand Floridian For Picts Outside, Then The Girls Came Over After They Were Done, And Took More, It All Worked Out Fine!

hello ladies .. i havent been online a lot lately as i've been dealing with my own relationship woes! Too much to tell and id prob start crying while i told it so .. who needs that ... nehoo I have so much to catch up on. first off, I HATE THAT WHITE PICTURE! I mean I really really hate it. Its one of those pictures that you just want to throw out when a new boyfriend comes around. I remember when those pictures were taken that all people kept asking my mom was "where are their shoes they arent wearing shoes jayne". so weird. so i think you should stick with your 7:30 plan lin. remember how tired we were at caryns by the end of the day cause we were up so early. with a later time we can all have a brunch and relax by the pool then start the hair and make up deal without having to freak out about time and how exhausted we are. not to mention that a later ceremony people have a little bit more of a choice as to when they can arrive at disney. people can fly in that day adn not have to really freak out about missing the ceremony. not to mention you can have fireworks pics and it will be soooo pretty. nehoo .. i think you should go with whatever you and chris want. make it your day and make it special. i think that you can see eachother before the wedding and it will be fine. i mean c'mon the gigg is up .. we craig girls have broken most of the rules when it comes to this stuff so .. shoot man .. why not see ur almost hubby before he becomes your real hubby. see eachother, really take time to take in the moments that your going to spend together. take some pictures and enjoy eachother because for the next few hours .. you really wont have that "alone" time until after it all. take teh time while you have it and enjoy eachothers company.
nehoo .. tahts my take on it all.

THERE ARE NO TAN LINES ALLOWED AT MY WEDDING.
i already sent you the tanning lotion. now we're at the point where that will be ineffective.
GO TO THE TANNING BED. GET SPRAY TAN. DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO TO REMOVE THE TAN LINES.

just wait lindsay. if you have tan lines for my wedding, just wait, JUST WAIT and see how i look for yours. JUST WAIT LINDSAY.
Now, thinking about this post, do you think that spending time by the pool is what we need to be doing? No.

I'm sorry this is stressing you out! As I'm sure you've heard, you get all the worrying out before the day so that you can let it all go then and have fun no matter what happens. :cloud9: We had an outdoor ceremony so I can relate to that. Luckily it doesn't often rain in early June in NJ.
We saw each other before the ceremony for pictures but then had time alone afterward with our own champagne and no one bothering us. I don't know if there is a place where you can do that, but it was probably the only time we had together for the rest of the night, and very special. We planned for it so that everyone knew where we were and not to bother us.
Taking pictures beforehand was actually the best thing even though I didn't want to. It is a chore! And by doing it that way and getting all the family pics done, we were able to enjoy the reception with our guests and no one had to be pulled out for pictures.

Okay. DF and I LOOOVE Rock of Love 2. Love it. We don't miss it. I think that Ambre was a WAY better match for him than Daisy. What a freaking train wreck that girl was. Living with your boyfriend?!? Ummm no. And imagine how she's going to look when she gets old!!!
My plan is to do all of my worrying now so that when wedding day comes, I don't have to worry anymore!
And now, the engagement pictures.
I decided to wear my glasses, because I wanted to look like myself. I also decided to wear my hair down (because as Caryn would say, only amish people wear buns...) So I went to the salon and had them blow out and flat iron my hair. We get all dressed up and head over to the Poly to meet Randy. (Love him, btw)
We walk out to the beach and it's seriously like we entered a wind tunnel!! My hair (that I paid to get styled) blew all over the place!! I kind of started to regret not putting my hair up because I'm concerned that my hair is going to look bad. (However, I put enough product in it that it should be okay... but you all know by now that I'm a worrier) Pictures took about an hour, maybe a little longer because on the beach shots we were there for a long time either waiting for the wind to die down or for me to fix my hair. Randy assured me that the pics would still be great. It was pretty cloudy, so I wanted to get finished before the rain came.
As we were finishing I asked Randy a bunch of questions about our day. And as he dropped the flash for his camera he mentioned that he does have backup equipment.
As we were leaving the Poly we ran into Jonette (HI JONETTE) She is SOOOOOOOO nice. She gave tons of advice about my worries and reminded me that it's Disney, and everything is going to be wonderful. I'm so lucky to live in the area and get to meet so many Disbrides. (On a side note, DF totally doesn't get why in the world I would want to meet Disbrides.. I tried to explain meeting my internet friends. Just didn't work)
As we walked out to the car it started to pour. Cold, wet, windy rain. (Rain. The bane of my existence) Our original plan was to go over to Epcot, see Flower and Garden, then time the walk from French Island to AAR, walk around AAR so that I could envision our day if we have it there, and then go over to Isola and check that out too. However, it was cold and raining and I was wearing a dress. But I knew that we werent going to get back to Epcot before we had to tell Joe exactly what locations we wanted. DF (have I mentioned that I love him :lovestruc ???) Said that he was more than willing to walk in the rain so that we could see our locations. So I decided that we'd drive to Boardwalk. Have some food and wait and see if the rain let up.
We went to ESPN and had some food, DF watched some sports (the Masters pre show I think) There was soccer on our little TV by our seat, which was cool. DF ordered a hot tea (yes, it was that cold) and I expected them to bring out a mug with hot water and some Lipton.... well no! They brought out one of those sugar holders that had about 10 different flavored tea bags! How cool! I know that the tea selection isn't supposed to be something one gets excited about at ESPN, but I sure was!! So as we sit there, the rain starts to let up and we walked over to Epcot.
For those of you that are curious, it takes about 10 minutes to walk (really slowly) from French Island to AAR. Voices of Liberty were singing when we got into AAR so I tried to be really quiet while I explained to DF where the tables would go etc. I was originally concerned that pink flowers wouldn't match (because for some reason, I only remember people using red flowers in AAR) I decided that they would match and I will be using them.
Then we walked over to Isola, which I like better. I think it's prettier and more open and closer. But DF isn't in love with it and as he says French Island is "our spot" so...
On our way home we made a final decision (which I should probably tell Joe...) We are going to see each other before hand and have a 7:30 ceremony. Chris told me that he thinks he'll be nervous, so I think that seeing each other will be good for him. Then we'll do cocktail hour at French Island (our spot) then we'll have everyone take the nice stroll over to AAR where we'll have dinner and cake. After being in that cold rain after pictures yesterday I think this really is the best choice I could make. I would worry every time it rained if I didn't pick this one. And I think our guests will like to walk a little bit around the park after it's closed (who wouldn't like that?)
Randy said about a month for our pics. I already can't wait!

i went to david's bridal on a search for a dress for the cruise (no luck there  ) but i did discover several things applicable to your wedding...
1. that tissue taffeta is going to be HOT. H-O-T.
2. not every dress/color is online, we'll have to go there in july.
3. i look really bad in cornflower and persimmon. so sorry linds, those colors are out.
4. i discovered that i REALLY like the clover and rose pink color, the rose pink is gorgeous in the dress below...
here's one that really struck my fancy (struck in a good way, not like, struck me in the face and i got a black eye)...
you can even do this one in black, which was gorgeous and change the brooch to a pink one (i'll have to check with nicky, i think she still has a bunch of antique brooches from the shop) and it would be stunning
http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_detail.jsp?stid=1552&prodgroup=110
there was another one in there that i can't find online...
now. i know that you said you didn't want us to wear pink because you wanted pink flowers...here's my deal on that situation: YOU can have mostly pink flowers, and WE can have more white (or cream, ivory, whatever you choose) and some pink accents. i think that would tie everything in wonderfully.
to summarize:
i want to wear pink or black. i think they will flow better.
tissue taffeta is going to be waaaaaay too hot.
i look really bad in cornflower and persimmon.
i also think that clover is an acceptable color.
i think marine will clash with the flower and garden decorations.

I will second that. That is the dress that I fell in love with for my girls, until I fell in love with another dress at Alfred Angelo's. It was a really hard decision, but I chose the BM dresses from Alfred Angelo's.
One nice thing about that dress from David's Bridal is that it looks good on people of all different sizes. It is a very flattering dress. :goodvibes

So I finally got on here, and was able to catch up on your journal. Life has been hectic with working on transferring schools, but I'm going to stop, don't want to pirate: your pj lol.
The dress Caryn picked is really pretty, I actually have a dress that is almost identical in Victorian Lilac from a pageant I was in! What are the odds. Anywho, I honestly think the Marine in that dress is really pretty Lindsey (I actually wish I saw it in Marine before I bought it), and surprisingly so is the cornflower LOL.
Glad to hear that the location drama is settled, I can totally understand your concern for rain. That + your desire to keep the wedding totally different from Caryn's would worry me too, considering both receptions are in the same park. I also understand why you LOVE the WP so much! It is simply gorgeous!
I'm in tune with the whole "white picture" thing....we had one also, but it "mysteriously" disappeared when my first boyfriend came over for the first time lol. (shhh my mom hasn't noticed YET 3 years later!). Mine was probably worse though, since I'm hearing that a SIZE 4 is to big for you guys! :scared1: I've always been a "chubby" baby lol, I can't imagine being a size 12, forget 4!:faint:
Glad to hear that your photo shoot with Randy worked out well! Did he offer 2 locations, or just 1, or did you guys want just 1? (Wow I sound like I am planning a wedding myself, when mine is YEARS away....need to find a husband first LOL)
Also, sorry about your grandmother's dress! That must of broken your heart :( Glad to hear you found 2 "the ones" also though lol.
What did I miss.....oh yeah! The "ebay" curse! Remember that 3rd times the charm! Glad to hear the glasses and book got there fine though :thumbsup2
Oh and love the kitty shots :cat: :cat:

BUT I have seen his work before (obviously) and he was almost $2k cheaper than the Roots.... so. Now I just have to wait (which I hate) I think they put the tables around the circle created by the pillars.
Hey, Lindsay & Caryn! The dress that Caryn posted a link to is really gorgeous in person. DD tried it on and I fell in love with the "look". We are considering her wearing it in rose petal, which is just a gorgeous color! Check it out -- it is stunning! :goodvibes
So Cam, what you're saying is.. if Caryn really wants it in Rose Petal she can be in YOUR VR??? Great!
:goodvibes
In the beginning of my PJ there is an Alfred Angelo dress that is similar to the one that Caryn likes at DB. I think I like that more than the DB dress and it's prob better quality. The AA dress also looked great on my roomate who was 7 months preggers...
Lindsey are you planning to use Star Fruit Prod. for your video like your sis??/
No. DF and I decided that we aren't going to do a video. If we were going to do a video we would prob use Star Fruit. They were really nice, and Caryn's video is lovely.
We just don't think a video is something that we'll ever watch so we're skipping it and going with more photography.
We've been trying to hide that picture for years. Mom always notices though... Caryn did try to tape mickey ears on our heads once, that was pretty funny.
I was initally upset about the dress, especially since that had been my plan for a really long time and I planned my whole look around it. But I found a new one and it's lovely and I'm really excited to wear it. I think I'm going to take one of the sleeves (because they have these really cute buttons) and use that to wrap my bouquet stems.
God I love ebay but sometimes it seriously stresses me out.
I wish I could do a half marathon, I bet it would be great for my health. The problem here is that every time I run, my knee goes out. It has managed to do it when I was in a knee brace once also. Quite aggravating LOL. Any pointers on how to run without ending up in a cast for 9 weeks?
I also have a really bad knee. I have been training pretty slowly (I know Caryn is up to 7 miles without stopping, I'm up to about 1 1/2 miles without stopping...) I try to consiously remember to make sure my knee is straight (which is hard because my knee isn't naturally straight) I also keep it wrapped (I've had better luck with an ace bandage than a brace) tightly. When I'm done running I ice my knee for about a half hour. 10 minutes on 10 mins off. That seems to help.
I'm also not training to finish in a specific time... I want to finish within the allotted Disney time. So that's what I'm training for. I also use rest days. I'll run one day. Walk the next. Run again. Walk again. That gives my knee one whole day to regroup. I don't think I'll finish the same time as Caryn, and that's okay.
On this long tangent.... DF peer pressured me into joining his gym. He put me on as a family member... the very first thing I have written with his name as my last name is my gym membership. (At least I'm trying to start our lives together in a healthy manner)

Very cute, Lindsay!! Maybe you two can get rose petal colored tee shirts for the 1/2 marathon and satisfy Caryn that way! BTW, I am so glad you are being smart about training and taking good care of your knee. :thumbsup2

Lindsay- The dress Caryn posted is stunning. My BMs will be wearing it (in periwinkle) and they look fabulous in it! If your BMs are different sizes it's a really forgiving dress.

i went and looked at the aa one and i like it better. it looks more fitted up top.
for those with knee problems, i have runners knee (though it seems to be getting better-fingers crossed) and on my long runs, i have to ice 20 min on 20 min off twice. i used to have to do it after all of my runs, not just the long ones, but it seems to be getting better. i also have worked to strengthen my quads, that has helped as well!
i'll stop pirate: now and get back to lindsay's wedding planning. are we doing the planning session during the marathon weekend? when can you schedule that? if we're doing that before the 1/2 or after? if before, can we please load up on the *free* carbs at the tasting?

Hi Lindsey, I don't post much on here but I am the "other bride" who wanted Randy that day. No hard feelings. We moved up our date by one week and were able to book Randy. I had to laugh reading through your journal because that aa dress was one I considered, and we are doing cornflower blue. I also have already had my engagement photo shoot with randy and I am dying to get the back. I"m also worried about them because, like you, I chose to wear my hair down and it was a mess by the time we had pictures.
Happy planning!

OOOOHHHH NOOOOO!!!!!! I'm sorry!!! But I'm very happy that you moved your date up... for several reason: 1. You get to have Randy too! and 2. Now I don't have to worry about you wanting the same WP time as me!!
Congrats and welcome!!!
And don't worry. We will not be doing cornflower (except maybe for Caryn since she doesn't like it and clearly doesn't know how to behave..) BM Mary had us pick AA dresses in the color indigo (which is in between cornflower and royal blue) and one of the girls picked "our" dress and it's lovely. I'll post a pic for you after the wedding. The indigo color is really nice.
I have decided that Randy will make my pictures wonderful even though it was gale force winds outside... I'm sure yours will be great too!! Do you have a PJ?

No, I only have one on a different board that is a members only board. It's a great group of girls and we love new members if you are interested.
When I first joined this board, one of the first trs i was reading had to end because a family member was reading and it caused a lot of problems for the bride. since them I am very nervous about posting personal stuff on a public forum. We are going for a different time all together. We want a 2:30 ceremony at the wp, followed by reception at the gf and dessert party in UK. Italy was actually our first choice but we didn't have enough people! we ended up with this dress http://www.morilee.com/DressDetail.aspx?C=3&D=345&P=1

Hi, Lindsay
Since I won't be your MIL (I'm Caryn's MIL, 1 Craig girl at a time!), I feel free to butt in on several issues.
First, get married wherever you and Chris like best. You'll remember it all your life. Be happy! Second, the dress Caryn posted is absolutely gorgeous. (Just be sure to order hers in persimmon if she gives you any problems!:rotfl2:) Third, whether you & Chris see each other before the wedding is a personal decision you two should make. Fourth, don't worry about what to feed your guests - cocktail food or dinner. Everyone will be so happy that we won't care! As long as there's wine, that is.:thumbsup2
Finally, if Chris has to chill out somewhere while you're getting ready, I'm putting in my bid NOW. I love him to death and will be happy to buy him a drink while we wait around. How much trouble could we get in, anyway?:scared1:
Finally, I was given orders by Mark (my son, Caryn's DH). I'm not allowed to wear the same dress to your wedding that I wore to theirs because "everyone will remember it, Mom!" Luckily I have this great pantsuit I can wear. Did I mention it's periwinkle?
Megan, I'm sorry things didn't work out, but it gets better. Meanwhile concentrate on helping Caryn drive Lindsay nuts - oops, I mean help her plan the wedding. Meanwhile I'll work on getting Dr. Jayne to bring the "white picture" to Texas next trip so Mark can help me post it here.

Do you not remember the following post?
Now, thinking about this post, do you think that spending time by the pool is what we need to be doing? No.
Engagement pics were today and they were lovely. I will do a longer post about them later, but right now Rock of Love 2 is on and I'm being reprimanded for not watching.
No tan lines.
OK so i just bought this fabulous bikini that has NO straps .. its one of those tube top bikini top things .. i got it on sale at victorias secret. nothing heals a broken heart like a shopping spree on pay day!!!!! so i can sit by the pool AND not anger people .. and if not .. shoot .. ill just have some lemonade!!!!

Sorry It Took So Long To Get Back To You, My Guests Actually Liked The Idea Of A Cocktail Party With Cocktail Food, It Made It Very Relaxed, And Fun, We Had A Buffet Of Coctail Food, We Did The Quesadilla, Chicken Pot Stickers, Crab Cakes, Mushroom In Phyllo Cups, Beef And Blue Cheese Bites, Then We Had A Cheese And Bread Platter Oh Yea We Did Mickey Mac & Cheese In Martini Glases!
It Was Nice Not Having The Whole Full Dinner We Could Get Mingle Eaat, Dance Very Relaxed!!!
But Do What You Want Do Not Worry About Impressing Other People Or What Other People Think You Should Do It's Ya'lls Day!! They Can Do What They Want At Their Wedding...
Good Luck I Can't Wait To See The Engagment Picts

Hi Lindsay,
I have been catching up on your planning journal the past couple of days and have finally gotten all caught up! I just wanted to say:
Your engagement pics came out so nice! You can't even tell that it was windy that day! I think its a great way for you two to look back on your prewedding years together and have some really nice memories! So pretty! I hadn't considered doing any engagement pics for my DF and myself, but looking at yours, I really really think this would be a great photo album to have and I'm really going to look into it.:thumbsup2
Everything sounds so lovely and I think your wedding is going to be fabulous!!! I also wanted to just send a quick thanks to you and your sis caryn for giving me such good advice when I was trying to decide whether or not to do the disney wedding for myself; with all of the hassle and stress that was coming from certain people... ;) But you two really gave me hope that things would work out for me, and IT DID! So I just wanted to say thanks! Ok I'll stop pirating your thread now. lol
OH, and congrats on getting your date! :woohoo: That is so exciting!!! I'm waiting just a few more weeks to find out if we get ours The anticipation is killing me!
Thanks! I actually read your post on the knot (boo) and I was glad that you posted here!! Caryn and I are both really excited about the wedding and they ARE going to be totally different....
I think a lot of photogs do engagement shoots for just a nominal free (I think the Roots include one... Randy's was cheap) and for that little extra money it was totally worth it
:cool1: Congratulations :cheer2:
:woohoo: yeah
  YAY

Oh, and CONGRATS on getting your locations! That must be such a huge relief! I will feel so much better when we have a signed contract! :thumbsup2 THEN I'll order my wedding gown!

UGH I really do NOT like the knot.com!!! they ripped me to pieces over there, and all I was looking for was some advice! I'm so glad I found this message board!!! man oh man! lol. I'm really excited for your wedding too! It looks like we'll be getting married a few weeks apart, what a great time of year! I don't know what it is about weddings and females, but they just make you so damn happy and excited for everyone else who is getting married, even when its someone you don't even know! :rotfl: You and your sister remind me of my sister and I. The other day she asked me if she could wear her tiara to my wedding. (She got married a couple of years ago, and I think she still has a bit of the "post wedding blues". she wants to renew her vows already!!) lol she is crazy, but I love it so much and wouldn't trade it in for the world! It really keeps everything fun.:goodvibes

Lindsay, LOVING THE PICS!! I was so glad to have the opportunity to meet you! It was wonderful it get to spend a few minutes talking. Loving Randy's pics. I think that my favorite is number 11 in the second gallery that is the black and white. It really shows how much Chris cares for you. That is one moving picture. Of course I have not had a chance to go through them all yet! Love 26,27,36 in the same gallery as above. 50 and 51,53,56,61 in the third gallery. You were so blessed with the light that day it was beautiful and it made you GLOW!

I'm glad you had fun at the wedding. It was a blur to me.
I loved your engagment pics too.
My mini advise as relates to your wedding:
1. (as we were going to the ceremony) I was so glad to see Mike before the wedding to do photos. I was so calm and relaxed walking down the isle. Compared to shaking like a leaf when I was going to see him. And there was still tons of emotion for the cermony.
2. Fake eyelashes fall off if you cry
3. Bring flip flops even if your shoes are comfy.
JonetteA

I second the flip flops. I had the best 3 inch ones that were like a cloud. So nice after the dress shoes for the reception. Just be careful of your dress with them!
Where are more updates!?!?!?

Jonette,
Where did you find 3 inch flip flops? I've been trying to find some that were close to the heel on my dress shoes, and all I've been able to find are the flat ones or about 2 inch ones.
Lindsay! Where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu? I've been missing your updates. I still love the piccies!

Morning Ladies!!
I have a few updates.
1.) The girls have tried on their dresses (which I think I said before.) They are going to be....
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/untitled-1.jpg
The girls will have the dresses in black with a rose sash.
2.) I have won the ebay auction for my tiara. Assuming that it ever gets here (because ebay doesn't like my house) it will look like this
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/tiara.jpg
3.) I have sent the preliminary contract email to Joe. Hopefully we can have the contract out soon. We are almost done getting addresses and we can have the save the date spreadsheet to Joe soon too.
I assume that the StD's will be out by mid June ish, right?
4.) Caryn is hard at work on the invites. They will look lovely. She is also hard at work on my veil (or she should be) which will be 4 yards of ivory glimmer tulle. (I wanted my veil to be really long)
I think that's it!

Lindsay -- Congrats on sending the contract!! We sent the spreadsheet back more than a week after we sent back the contract, but that is because we were awaiting word that DFTW had signed the contract as well (it's not a contract until signed by 2 DFTW people, IIRC). Our Save the Dates arrived to our guests 1 week after I got the list to DFTW.

So now, hopefully people will start booking their rooms and getting excited for the big day. I'll be sending out an email to the bridal party hopefully this weekend. This was a pretty big weekend, I don't have a ton of pics (and those I do have, I haven't uploaded yet... I'm sorry. I'm a bad Disbride!!) but I'll do an update and add pics later.
We left for NJ Thursday evening. Our flight, which was supposed to leave at 6:15 didn't end up leaving until about 8, which was more than a little frustrating because I just wanted to go home already!! Whatever. We get on the plane and there is a crying baby behind us (it stopped crying about 1/4 into the flight, so that was good) and a barking dog in front of us. :sad2: (I love air travel) So Dad and Caryn pick us up at the airport. It was nice because I haven't seen Caryn since her wedding.
We get home, look at Caryn's albums and go to bed. (Caryn's albums are lovely btw and I REALLY like her Blurb book).
The next morning (Friday July 4th) I tell Caryn that we really have to do my veil. (Caryn, if you are reading this... can you please post the pictures of the veil fabric that you took at your house.... you know, the one with the cat sitting on it) Caryn had purchased veil material online and a comb and brought it home. I brought my tiara so that we could see the whole look. The veil is BEAUTIFUL. Caryn thinks it's plain and boring. It is 7 yards of Ivory Glimmer Tulle. It went from my living all the way out the front door. We cut the edge so that the corners were a little bit rounded. The whole time we were doing this I was yelling at Chris that he wasn't allowed to come downstairs. I have pics of Caryn doing the veil and the veil on my head, but they aren't out of my camera yet. I'll upload them and add them later.
After that we went to my Aunt's house where the topic of converstation was nothing other than DISBRIDES!!! (Today is Lynn's at home reception... I wonder how it's going!!) We went to my friends house after that and they were all super excited about the STDs.
Saturday morning, the plan was to just go to the bridal store that carried the BM dress.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/untitled-1.jpg
Caryn needed to try it on and figure out the size. Then we were going to go back and order my dress online.....
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/Spring024-11.jpg
Yeah, that didn't happen. Mom apparently thought that we were going to David's Bridal to get my dress. I have no clue why she thought this... I explained the ordering procedure to her SEVERAL times (I swear, she doesn't listen to me when I talk... :rolleyes1 ) Then she asked why I ddin't try it on in the bridal shop that had the BM dress.... so I explained to her that there wasn't a store in the Tri State area that had my dress because I called to ask. So we decided that we'd go to David's Bridal and try on a few dresses that looked like the one I wanted. So we go in and try on a few and the lady could tell that I didn't really like anything that I was trying on and she asked me what I liked. My response was "I like beading, but not flowers. I like pick ups but not too many pickups." So she brought out a dress and I tried it on and again I had a "the one" experience (So this would make three....) It was incredibly similar to the one I had picked out... The same kind of beaded top, no flowers, pick ups but they were more random then the first dress.... and it didn't have any appliques at the pick ups. I liked that the pick ups were more random, I didn't love that there werent' any appliques, but I figured that I'd live without them.
If I ordered the original dress online I would have had to figure out where to ship it (because we're moving, I wasn't sure where to send it) and where to have it altered. This dress cost a little more, but I wouldn't have to worry about where to have it shipped or where to alter it. Then they told us that if we bought it that day in NJ we would get $200 off and they'd ship it to me for free. Then they reminded us that we wouldn't have to pay sales tax if we bought it in NJ. So I bought the dress (well, actually mom did.... Thanks Mom) Of course, I forgot to take a picture of me in the dress.... Maybe I'll run to David's Bridal and snap a pic. This pic just doesn't do the dress justice AT ALL, and I couldn't figure out how to get a pic of the back of the dress...

Saturday night we all went to Chris's grandparent's shore house so that the whole family could meet. Everyone was very well behaved and got along nicely. It was good for everyone to meet before the wedding.
Chris is still at the shore house.... I'm jealous because I'm back at work. :headache:

Yeah you found a dress. I think that's one of the hardest decisions, at least for me. But once you found "the one" all the others look the same. Can't wait to see pictures of your veil.

I just LOVE how that dress gathers and the train is spectacular! There is just something about veil material that cats love. Mine is always trying to sit on my veil every time I try it on. Can't wait to see the finished product!
