I read somewhere villas are being built at the Contemporary?? :cool1:

Anyone have more details? when will they be available and such..

Disney hasn't said what they are going to be yet. There are rumors that it will be DVC or suites and a mix of both. Nobody really knows yet!

Still a mystery. But at our Disney Cruise DVC meeting. One of the guides mentioned it saying we all had crazy rumours and then did a very diliberate, "for all 200 people in the room can see" wink. So they know we're waiting for something official lol

Our guide was talking to us in Dec about this rumour as of now it is still up in teh air as to wether it will be DVC or if it will be a family suites inda building like they are also planing for the unfinnished buildings at POP. My gut tells me it is going to be suites geared towards the convention folks as they are trying to bring the Contemp back up to standard as a convention destination like CSR is now.

I think there are going to be some DVC but they won't announce until after SSR and maybe AK is sold out.

From the drawings I have looked at, I see no way it will not be visable from the parks. Isn't it a long standing ril, not to see the hotel from inside the park? I know under the Mike E era, they did that with the Swan and Dolphin but later regretted it.

The new building is supposed to be 16 stories tall so it will tower over the current building and be in the way of the view from some rooms from Wilderness lodge. I think it should be about 6 or 7 stories tall at most ans incorporate the current a frame style into it but meh what do I know LOL>
