Happy Sunday!!

I finished catching up with Part 4 and found the "end". :rotfl:

We are doing a "final review" of our excursions then will be able to just sit back and count the days. I read someone else was doing that (in order to release any maybes for the 75days people) and thought it was a great idea.

From Scottishwee35:

"I checked and still GTY, why is that.

As we had paid full amount and why we wait for GTY?

Do anybody know why?"

It seems that for my bookings, when a "household" books multiple rooms (in other words larger families with same names/address so it is obvious they live together, rather than "family" who may be coming from various parts of the world), they have a high priority, especially for connecting rooms.

Other than that, many times with DCL the GTY's seems to be cleared about 30days out. Just like other posters have mentioned, with the inventory control people handling 3 cruises a week, it is just a "wait your turn" kind of thing.

What I don't understand is when just a "random act of booking" occurs? :confused3

Hope everyone gets out of the lifeboats soon. :wizard:

From JLSE50:

"A friend of mine buys new underwear before a trip, leaves it home, packs her old underwear, wears it and throws it away. She says that gives her a little more souvenir space. "

We started doing this a few cruises ago and it is great!! Especially for a longer cruise with a family of 5!! We will have lots of extra space. The cost to replace the undies (which I do before we travel, so we come home to drawers full of clean undies) is well worth the extra space for us.

It was supposed to be in the mid 70's this week, so we planned to go to DL, but alas, more rain coming.

Weather here this winter continues to be weird, all over the place! Last week we had rain, freezing rain, snow, snow and more snow.I had three very good workouts shoveling snow last week. Today I got up for work and it was freezing rain. Ugh! I could barely keep upright in my driveway to get to the car :scared: All I kept thinking about was how I was not allowed to break anything before this cruise :scared: Driving to work was not fun, but there were hardly any cars on the road so I just went slow and made it safely. When I was finished work, it was pouring rain, it just stopped a little bit ago. Tomorrow we are supposed to get snow. Tomorrow it is Family Day here in Ontario for the very first time, so I get to stay in and hopefully get caught up on here. After all,you all feel like family :goodvibes

Well we're back - tried to go see Diary of the Dead at the only theater it's playing at in the county. There are 2 Palm Aves off the 805 so of course we got off at the wrong one first. Thanks to the trusty Thompson Guide we figured out there were 2 and got back on the 805 to get to the right one. We arrive at the theater and there are hoardes of people pouring out into the parking lot. We walk up to the box office and they're closed due a power failure!

So we came back home and went to the steakhouse (Thanks Angie) and now are home for the rest of the day.

We'll try again tomorrow...

If anyone is interested in seeing all 5 best picture nominations AMC theaters are showing all 5 next Saturday. $30 gets you into all of them. Here they start at 11am and ends around 11pm.

Guess where we'll be next Saturday...

We've already seen Atonement and since it's showing at dinner time works out perfect to give us a break.

what is the deal with Lelli Kelli shoes?

Here goes my answer:

Some are very cute IMO
Some are very ugly IMO
All of them are overpriced IMO

:thumbsup2

Oh and edited to add: You can find great deals on them sometimes at either Amazon.com or at endless.com (owned by amazon too but they have different things from time to time)

Just doing a quick drive by posting to ensure I am registered for this thread.

Pretty happy. I got my Sanyo eneloop batteries today on sale! Just gotta pick up the charger on Tuesday.

Bought a cute Minnie Mouse outfit for my DD3 on sale. I will try and post pics when she wears it.

Got my PDA all set up to help with my geocaching - paperless now!!

Had a good Daddy/daughter outing with my DD6.

And now I get home to my wife doing up the finances to find out we are exactly where we thought we should be at this time.

The sun is shining, the snow is melting. Things are generally good right now.

It squirts out just like whipped cream would. BATTER BLASTER (http://www.batterblaster.com/) It is super easy to use and no mess to clean up. Just heat the pan up and you are ready to go. Kids really like it and it makes mornings easier for me. Hey anything that means we can eat more pan cakes is a great thing! Two thumbs way up from me! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

What a wonderful invention!! Too bad it's not sold around here! I just looked at the website and it's about an hour away to get one!! So I guess I'll have to wait for awhile!!! Enjoy them though!!!

well --- I am a curse on drivers I feel....I loved Alan Kulwicki, Davey Allison...then went on to Dale. IMO Teresa screwed everything and everyone over, but that is another thread entirely. One of my dorm mates in my freshman year really got me more into racing than Polk county did (imagine that!) So I follow it, and yes, I follow Dale Jr...but his teammates as well.....also Nemawreck.....(Joe Nemechek....)

I LOVED Davey Allison.   After he died I have never really had an absolute favorite. Just a handful that I cheer for. Dale Jr., J.Gordon, I have more that I don't like then I do like:lmao: I was hoping that Jr. would get this first win with the new team. But boy, with Daytona, you never know until the last lap who is going to take the checkers.

Aarrgghh... Just typed up a big long response only to get kicked out by the disboards!!! It seemed just like being on the DCL website except no fishies to keep me entertained!!!!

Anyhow here goes attempt #2 at a response!

I really enjoy geocaching and if my wife woudl let me, I would probably be quite addicted to it. I really like that it gives us a good family outing (we are careful not to try and do caches that are too difficult for the kids). We also tend to do them when we are a long road trip as it helps to break up the monotony of the drive for the kids. And in general I don't like walking just walking's sake, so this gives me a purpose to the walk. Also, sometimes you can find out about places and things that are right in your own backyard that you never knew existed!

I will warn you however, it can be quite frustrating. One cache took me 3 attempts to find it. I thought it would be an easy find one day, so I went out on my way home from work to find out, traipsed around the bush in my shirt and tie and dress shoes and came up empty. took my nephew with me another time and still no luck. Took the girls out and find out it was right under my nose all 3 times!!

Geocaching can be fun and rewarding and really doesn't have to cost that much.

If you want I can talk to you about it while on the cruise. Heck, if there are others who are interested in the sport, maybe we can hold a group get together on the ship and I can try and answer some questions. Just one caveat: I am by no means an expert. I am still pretty green at this myself, but I think I have gotten most of the basics covered pretty well, and can at least help a few people get pointed in the right direction. I will be bringing my GPS and geocaching stuff with me on the cruise as there are some caches I want to try and find on the cruise (no not on the ship but in the ports ;)).

Some of the hides can be quite clever. We found one that was hidden as a bird house. The hole where the birds go in wasn't really a hole, just an indentation (recessed) that was painted black and the roof was on hinges so you could open it and see the treasures inside.

I've seen them dressed up as rocks, and one nasty one had leaves and underbrush glued to it so it blended in with the bush. A buddy showed me one he did up that looks like a power post. Some can get quite mean. But I really like looking for ammo cans. They are the best because they have the best stuff left behind.

No limit there. They will send you tags for 2 each person, but will have additional tags available from the porters at the port.

Hey Monica,
I made it through my backed up Jane Austen's last night and as things were moving along with Pride and Prejudice I forgot that it was many parts and was frustrated. More tonight. Have you seen the Jane Austen book club?
Kelly

I haven't see Jane Austen Book Club....think I'll have to rent it soon. Was it good (I read the book).

Oh my - I am only up to page 64 on part 4. Traveling is killing my dis time. I won't be home until tomorrow night so nobody should say anything until then!

uh, yeah, right. :thumbsup2

She was looking for you for breakfast, but you were sleeping in! ;)

Quite the reverse...SHE's the sleepy head. I'd already cleaned the kitchen, DISed and cooked up breakfast before she was out of bed. But we did just have a nice early dinner. It's "Bone Sucking Sunday" at Barracuda Beach Club, so we had wings! Yummm.

well, think I'll mosey back over to the old thread and read the last 12 pages....can't stand the thought of missing something...even if it's just missing out on some laughs. (Jan and Nan have both been on a roll :rotfl: lately!)

Kelly, love the new ID. :thumbsup2

Not sure who posted on this but I have got to tell you. DH bought me this phone last year. I took it on the cruise with us and I  it.

While I never took any formal lessons with it - DH bought it for my b-day last July - I had fully intended to get it done when it got lifted from my body - once I returned of course - I was so worried about it abroad and come to have it stolen right in my own backyard.

Anyway, I refused to get one for 3 weeks in the hopes that it would be returned - I know everyone - pick yourselves up off the floor :rotfl2: - but I hoped that some kind human being would return it - I kinda suspect where it was taken - but to no avail. ANYWAY, back to my story - finally after 3 weeks - DH begged me to PLEASE buy another one - he would pay for it! He could not stand me going w/o it. He and the kids claimed that I was a bit "Grumpy" (and not the dwarf kind either) without it.

So when I went back to get on in October - they were offering lessons with it for 1 month. Course this was back in Nov/Dec when Christmas season was getting into full swing so who had time to take advantage.

I find that I :lovestruc it - especially the texting. The best part? My kids don't like it and can't always figure out where and how to operate it!

The weather here today in Chicago was really foul. It rained a good part of the day and thunder storms.

The streets are a mess because the snow and ice have dammed up the sewers so streets started to flood.

I have about 3 inches of ice outside my back door next to the garage. There's about an inch of water on top of the ice now.

Tonight it is suppose to drop down to 20 degrees.

I can just imagine the ice flow outside my back door!

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if I go out the back door tomorrow and find the Titanic embedded out there!

My WW meetings had attendance that was way down. My 11:00 AM usually has 60 people. I think about 20 showed up this morning. Pity too, it was a great topic.

I now have a Blackberry, but wish I had the iPhone. Unfortunately, all of our work phones are Verizon. No iPhone with Verizon. I like the Blackberry and am getting more used to it, but from everything I have seen the iPhone would be much better - especially since I have a Mac at home.

One thing with the Blackberry that is making me crazy is the calendar. It will only sync with Outlook 2002 or higher. Believe it or not, we are still using Office '97. :rotfl2:

It does play real nice with Sync in my Taurus, but the iPhone is compatible too. I bought a 4gb micro SD card for it, but when I try to sync with my Mac now, the phone reboots every time, and they are telling me it is a Verizon firmware problem. The BB is smaller, but that comes at a price with those tiny buttons for typing (I have the pearl). As far as web browsing, the browser on the BB is way inferior to Safari on the iPhone.

I do like having my email with me all the time though . . .

All I know about it I read on the website or here from a couple posts. It does look like great fun and I am wanting to learn more for sure. Having it explained in real life gps and all would be great. I bet there are others who would like to learn more as well. If you do give an impromptu how to on the ship count me in!

Well ok, if there is anyone else out there that is interested in doing a get to together about geocaching I'll see about putting some stuff together and go over some of the basics.

Just PM me if you are interested in this and I will try and arrange a time that is convenient to all.

My problem is, I don't really need a phone. I just thought it was cool the way you could see the pictures. Actually, after my motorola flip phone I had before, I went low tech on the replacement phone. No camera, no flip, no text. Just a basic phone. It keeps dying on me..probably dropped it too many times. I just don't want to spend the money on an Iphone and have the larger bill. BUT, I still really want the phone...see my dilemma. It's not necessary but still. I work hard. I know that once this phone goes, I'll end up with the iphone. (maybe thats why it gets dropped so much...oops)
Keep on posting your good times with the iphones. I don't need much more prodding, but it helps!

Took the girls out and find out it was right under my nose all 3 times!!
.....

Are you going to try and find one of the caches on Castaway Cay? That could be a find adventure.

Forgot to mention - iPhone does not receive MMS messages. I cannot get attachments on my phone. Right now - DD is clamoring for me to take her to the store so can't explain what mms is right now that is a downfall but I can receive pictures if its included in the body.

Still don't let that detract. The text messaging is great. International Roaming is $5.99 a month just in case your interested. Cost me $20 might have been $30 for a one time activation fee so that's not a surprise. But it worked wonderfully on the Magic. I got World Traveller hence my DH put on my voicemail - Laura E - World Traveller! :thumbsup2

My understanding is that they do give a Costco giftcard.

I think the card ends up being about 7-10% of the fare of the cruise. I think that normally Costco rebates more than DU, but when DU was doing double credits for the Panama cruises they were higher.

I think we're set on excursions now. We're mostly doing things on our own and mostly quiet beach/shopping days.

1. Castaway Cay: Just beaching it. Maybe renting bikes. DH and the boys will definitely go sailing if there is enough wind. It was too calm last time we were there.

2. Aruba: Going to the beach. Might book a room at the Hyatt with DH's points if it doesn't cost us too many points. Although DH is spending the week in Chicago next week, so more Hyatt points. :thumbsup2

3. Acapulco: We just can't seem to get excited about Acapulco, but we'll definitely want off the ship after so many days at sea. Probably going to CiCi Waterpark.

4. Puerto Vallarta: Booked the Los Veranos Canopy Tour through Puerto Vallarta Tours. I haven't used that tour company before but they got good comments on Tripadvisor and they have a "no port-no pay" cancellation policy for most of their tours, including the canopy tour.

5. Cabo San Lucas: Taxi to Medano Beach. Suggestions on where to head on this beach??? It looks like it goes for quite a stretch.

The $2 pins are the real cast lanyard hidden mickey pins!!! And in the grab bags I've had very few propins which are the old disney trading pins! They were the company Disney used before they started making them themselves! So they are all legitimate but the old propins are not the fancy new ones Disney sells!! But again, yes, the $2 pins are the "real" deals!! Hope this helps clarify it!!!

And Gary does work with Disney on all his deals when he buys out the pins from companies! I've talked to him many times about this!! He's actually an insurance investigator and his wife is an attorney!! Just some background for you!!! And no they're not my relatives!! Cabo San Lucas: Taxi to Medano Beach. Suggestions on where to head on this beach??? It looks like it goes for quite a stretch.

When we were on the Magic in 2005 we went to "The Office". It was a perfect spot, right in front of the Magic.

(I know I've posted this pic before but I had to add it again for excitement! Mark and Ryan are on the jet ski closest to the Magic.)

I'm totally good now that you confirmed your info. Please don't take offense by the discussions that go on here. Some of us have been talking for over a year now, and our conversations tend to be very informal and comfortable. Please keep sharing your stuff, what ever it may be we all like to hear info from each other.

p.s. I'm the yelling mom, my son told me that I was yelling in a note I wrote him the other night (I have no voice due to sore throat) because I used an !!! silly boy :lmao:

Hi All!! So it's winter up here on the mountain in the Poconos and there's 4 inches of snow on the ground and John's truck lost its brakes. So we can't plow and get ourselves off our mountain.

Our electric went out for half a day this week too. Somehow I lost my eyeglasses during that time......still haven't found them and it has been a few days. I'm wearing an old old pair.

On a good note, I ordered John's Mexican night shirt. For tropical and mexican, we're just wearing themed shirts. For Pirate's night we have the whole costume.

Here's John's authentic Mexican Wedding Shirt:

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310/EllaEnchanted00/babymexshirt.jpg

Next I'm going to order the soft sided 9 pack cooler and I think I'm done getting everything I need.

Have you tried pulling it up with no other browser windows up? I sometimes get the 'cannot download' with emails, then if I clear some out it will download more of the message. That makes me think you have a memory issue, but I'm just guessing.

I'd be happy to show you in 80 days if you don't figure it out before then.

I love catching up on DIS when killing time in random places. Earlier we were driving home from the mountains and it was too dark to read a book but not DIS on the iphone. I don't like to post on it very much tho.

I have come to the realization that I'm not going to be able to wear my two new dresses for formal nights on this cruise. I'm glad I got them two sizes smaller and that I have them. I'll save them for a future day. It's going to take me longer than the time I have left before this cruise to lose the weight I need to lose. I'm not losing it like I was before I stopped smoking. I've stuck to my diet strictly this week and didn't lose anything. Because I noticed that I have replaced cigarettes with food. I constantly eat cheerios and I'll have two diet snacks a day instead of one and I'll have a fruit and a yogurt instead of one or the other. I'm still dieting strictly, but I'm eating continuously. That will slow down over time, but I'm still new at this not smoking thing....and I need the cheerios and food for now.

I guess I'll be wearing my old dresses to formal nights this cruise. I'll save my new dresses for another cruise and strive to get there at a later time. I'm not going to make it in the next two months.

The upside is that I don't smoke anymore and since I don't have to buy all new clothes in a new size, I'm already packed and ready to go. Just need to get a cab or car service to the airport leaving from home at the start of this trip.

We did our income taxes and we'll use the money that we're getting back to play on this trip. So that really makes us ready to go. Just two more months and three weeks to go.....it will go very quickly.

YES IT DOES!!!!! What a great thing that is......John and I were talking this morning over coffee and decided how much we really need this trip. Our last cruise was anything but fun for us with the whole family. We actually couldn't wait to get off the boat and have that trip be over. So it doesn't count as a magical mickey cruise.....like this one is going to be. We need it so badly and can't wait for it to get here. It's getting very very close now. I'm so psyched!

I really enjoy geocaching and if my wife woudl let me, I would probably be quite addicted to it.

If you want I can talk to you about it while on the cruise. Heck, if there are others who are interested in the sport, maybe we can hold a group get together on the ship and I can try and answer some questions.

I'd enjoy learning about it...anyone else?

I think I'm going to make a few projects to keep me busy - an autograph book for fellow cruisers and a travel journal as we like to write down what we did each day. Makes trip reports and scrapbooking way easier. I do still need to make our fish extender too. These should make me feel like I'm getting ready to go.

I do like having my email with me all the time though . . .

This would be a fun phone for me and no work applications needed. I would want it for looking on the net and checking email. The gps sounds like something I could use too. For something purely for your own amusement would you say the iPhone is a better bet then a Blackberry? My laptop is a Sony so no added plus there.

I use a Nextel phone. No added goodies really needed besides the radio. I love the radio. push to talk. Can't get much easier then that! My daughter has one too so she can reach me just by chirping me, no need to even call. She chirps me right after the school bell rings, Mom where are you? My biggest problem with the iphone is there is no chirp!

John, loved the pictures of Sophia's party. Isn't it funny how all the girls are on one side and the boys on the other!! Glad she had a lovely weekend.

Marilyn, Edna Mode is the gal in the picture, she is the costume designer from the Incredibles.

Ah, thank you. Have never seen the film.

Actually, she is a superhero costume designer!:cutie:

superhero, now you're talking!!!:lmao:

I know, I didn't want to lose my big number, but my vacation plans came up when a few students googled me.

Best to be careful I think.

Oh my - I am only up to page 64 on part 4. Traveling is killing my dis time. I won't be home until tomorrow night so nobody should say anything until then!

I will be glad when you are back and caught up! Missed you!

Now that looks so good and easy, and surprisingly doesn't have additives.(or many) Can't see it ever being on sale over here so may have to pack one to try!

Deb, you have done such a great job stopping smoking, and soon you will be reaping the benefits. I know it is so disappointing about the weight, but you can do that later. You are going to look lovely in the clothes you already have - I know that.

(And by the way I'm just in the habit of always using exclamation marks...I'm not "yelling" as was stated in an earlier message by someone!!:rotfl: )

Please don't apologize!!!! You gave a good tip! They do sell several brands I see on the site. The propins are the older Disney pins I only know that because my daughter was wearing her lanyard one trip and four people tried to trade her for one pin. She will not trade it because it was one of the very first she traded for on her first "pin trading day". One of the people who wanted it told me it was a propin pin. I had no idea what it was but she said it was an older Disney pin. The pin everyone wanted from my daughter is older then she is! So if it has some of those in the grab bag I can't see it being a bad thing. I have no idea about any other brands though that is the extent of my knowledge.

This is from my google search trading pins:

Bertoni-Milano is more widely recognized by its name G.D.E. Bertoni, the world-famous maker of the World Cup soccer trophies for decades. In fact, the business has been producing metal designs for over 100 years. During the 1990s (possibly 1980s as well), they were the official Disney licensee for Italy for pins. During that time, they produced about 100 or so different Disney designs that ranged in quality from extremely good to fair. The different poses is what people seem to really like about the company's products.. Bertoni pins are tradeable in the parks.

I confess I also really like Germany's ProPin Disney pins. They were the official Disney Germany licensee for Disney pins 1995 through 2000, creating over 250 designs including 20 or more 9-pin collections. Their forte' was in using up many many colors on their small pins, making the detail of Propins stunning. ProPins are all tradeable in the Disney parks.

I will be ordering a grab bag for me! :thumbsup2

Good Morning

wow, had been reading past 14 pages already:surfweb:

:wizard:

:tinker: Karen

thanks Karen for explaning it. I got it now.

:tinker: Karen

Sound good but I like to bring half old and half new

My old undies are comfy though!!!

Well, buy same one? I understand that so I.

I have to say I am really amazed at you doing this with so little complaining on the boards.... you made it seem easy. I think I'm going to make a few projects to keep me busy - an autograph book for fellow cruisers and a travel journal as we like to write down what we did each day. Makes trip reports and scrapbooking way easier. I do still need to make our fish extender too. These should make me feel like I'm getting ready to go.

Gosh - I am too. One of my cruise friend veterns passed along a tip - she hangs all the clothes on a laundry rack and then sorts so packing is a breeze. We do not have a laundry room or a rack, but I think I can find on pretty cheap and this will help with the "what do I really need to take" spats that usually errupt at our house 2 days before the trip....

I figure two weeks, less stress...I can always donate the wrac to a shelter afterwards.

Scrap-booking - I went to the scrapbook store to purchase a glue stick - no glue sticks but a 50% new owner sale...I now have neat pages of Mexico and other disney add-ons....

Guess I need to sign on for the scrap-booking course now.....'

What color - RED???? Green????

Time for me to leave for work. Not sure if I will be able to catch up later - but everyone have a great day.

Good Morning All - I found you but I think I will need to ask some questions again - No way I can keep up.

Hope evryone had a good weekend. We were busy - hence no posting on Sunday - gasp....

I saw a question on dressing for the Tropical and Mexican nights -- Pirate goes without saying. Tropical is no brainer for us, our normal wear - in fact - although we do have Disney tropical outfits...

What does one wear for Mexican night????

I think Mexican means a few different ideas, but the most popular here are for the guys a guayabera shirt. Best to google them.
They are also known as Mexican wedding shirts.

We have difficulty getting them over here in the UK, so I think John will probably just wear a linen shirt.well trousers too of course.:lmao:

That is a good question.

I do know that Julie, (MexicanMouseketeer) has offered to get some authentic stuff for any who want, which I would quite like to do, but not sure what type of things are available.

When we were on the Magic in 2005 we went to "The Office". It was a perfect spot, right in front of the Magic.

(I know I've posted this pic before but I had to add it again for excitement! Mark and Ryan are on the jet ski closest to the Magic.)

Beautiful photos, did you went in 2005 at Panama Canal? You must enjoyed it and come back again?

There are some things in some little gift shops hiding along the sides. Expensive compared to sidewalk vendors in Mexico perhaps, but a fair selection that can be tried on.

I just read your post in Thread 4 about wishing you could have been more patient with your Mom.

I am sure you were wonderful. At any given time we can only do the best we can do.

Now, when you are more rested, you have the leisure to think of all the things you wish you had said and done, but at the time you did the VERY BEST that you could. I am sure of it.

Please remind yourself of it and if you need more reminders, PM me and I will tell you over and over and over. Please do not beat yourself up over it now. That only hurts you.

Do I wish I lived closer to my Mom so I could see her before she totally forgets me? Sure, but I cannot do it.

Do I wish I had been more patient when I had her for respite visits? Sure, but the reality of her 24/7 care overwhelmed me more than I wanted to admit to anyone at the time.

I am sad that I wasn't more loving and patient, but I did the best I could. I was so EXHAUSTED. I have to remind myself of that daily as she slips further and further away all while living 700 miles from me in an Alzheimer's care facility with my brother as the primary care contact.

 :cool1:  :cool1:

It was a very busy weekend. Lots of errands, and lots of work on Mouse Manager. Some corrections and communications to be made.

I was literally on the go from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM both Saturday and Sunday.

I'm relieved to have today off and am planning on resting

(Well, maybe I might do a little work on updating Mouse Manager WDW restaurant menus).

For the most part, I'm planning on parking my butt and taking it easy.

------------------------

On a completely different note...

I was reading posts about people being sad that they could not do more for their aging parents.

I ended up being the primary care giver for my father. It was a very upsetting circumstance. He had first one leg amputated due to geriatric diabetes. So, I moved him to Chicago.

He then had his remaining leg amputated. It was a very hard time for everyone especially him, because nearly the identical thing happened to his father, my grandfather. (And, yes it does worry me too).

I think one does the best one can, and sometimes we need to concede that is all that can be done.

In my case it was rather odd and not what I would have predicted. I would have not been the person to have had this responsibility because my father and I had never had a good or close relationship. It would be polite to say that our relationship was "strained."

It amazed me that I was the only one who stepped up to the responsibility. No one in my family who was "close" to him stepped up. In my mind there was no question about how I felt. It was about what was the right thing to do.

I suppose, though a horrible situation, it worked out for the best. In some ways we mended our relationship. I think in the end, it brought us both peace of mind.

Carol,

Medina is about 28 miles west of me.

I live in the city on the north side. It's great, a Brown Line El station is literally 1.5 blocks from my house. I have a movie theatre .5 blocks from my house, and about 30 restaurants in a 3 block radius.

I take public transportation to work. I sort of wish I had an iPhone so I could cruise the web during my ride.

You are so good at looking on the bright side of things!

You have accomplished so much and have a lot to be proud of.

How are you legs doing this week? Is Angel behaving herself?

Yep, outside of you guys nobody else needs to know where I am or when my house is empty. I never realized how involved I'd get with these groups when I chose my name. That's why I never post pictures either. I can't let my daughter be seen with so many googlers. We have a lot of groupies - good ones, but you never know.

If we didn't have kids I would be all over that ...how fun. We used to watch eco challenge marathons when we didn't have kids all the time(its from the producer of survivor prior to survivor really cool extreme adventures we like watching the mount everest documentaries too...very cool)

We used to love those and then Mark Burnett got too big to do it anymore. My sister was going to work on one of those.

I haven't see Jane Austen Book Club....think I'll have to rent it soon. Was it good (I read the book). Kelly, love the new ID. :thumbsup2 .

I haven't seen it, but it looks great.

OK, I promised some Harry Potter before bed tonight, so good night!:wave2:

John, loved the pictures of Sophia's party. Isn't it funny how all the girls are on one side and the boys on the other!! Glad she had a lovely weekend.

Ah, thank you. Have never seen the film.

superhero, now you're talking!!!:lmao:

Best to be careful I think.

I will be glad when you are back and caught up! Missed you!

How are the legs doing?

You're right Marilyn. One good thing to work on at a time. At least I have the new dresses to look forward to wearing on another cruise and it's incentive to stick with it and not give up.

The legs are not good. Very swollen, the edema is out of contol. That's additional weight gain because they're filled with fluid. I'm waiting for the boot to come.....that will get the edema under control. The wound won't go away until the edema is under control. But I have enough time to work on them before trip and get them good to go.

Sorry to hear your legs are so bad. Just keep doing what you have to to get them sorted. Hope the boot arrives soon.

I have to say I am really amazed at you doing this with so little complaining on the boards.... you made it seem easy. I know so many who tried and failed many times over yet you seem to have decided it was best for you and stuck with it! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I for one do not care about your dresses being new or older. ;)

It's the size of your heart, not your dress that matters! :flower3:

Oh Marr, that's so sweet of you to say. You are truely a good friend and you give me such great inspiration. I won't give up. I'll get this weight down later rather than sooner. Focus on one thing at a time. At least I don't smoke. I think today is 8 weeks. That's great! Thanks for your encouragement, it really means a lot to me during this trying time in my life.

I'd enjoy learning about it...anyone else?

We have a small group already forming for this. Once we get a little closer I'll try and organize a date, time and place for it. I'm going to enlist some help from some of the people I have met while doing the geocaching for ideas as to what to talk about and how the best way to do something like this is.

I'll try and get some geocoins and I'll have some travel bugs with me for sure. Of course my GPSr, my PDA and I'll have my laptop with some stuff on it too.

If anyone else wants to join our group to learn some basics about geocaching just let me know (PM is probably best so I don't miss you as this thread goes pretty fast).

Are you going to try and find one of the caches on Castaway Cay? That could be a find adventure.

Pj

I found it, I found it! We even showed the CC Island Manager where it was because he didn't know they had a hidden cache there! Then it was raining, so he gave us a ride in the golf cart back to the ship and we got to ride through the backstage area of CC! (Of course, I asked if I could take pictures, but he laughed and said no!)
