As far as wheelchair access goes, Typhoon Lagoon only has the lazy river and the wave pool. However, Blizzard Beach, has both of these, plus the family raft ride, which can be reached by riding the gondola car on the ski lift. They also have more accessible entry points into the river, a railed entry to the wave pool and water chairs that can be borrowed. As you may be able to guess, I quite like Blizzard Beach, though I do miss being able to do all the slides at Typhoon Lagoon.

Actually, after saying all that, I seem to remember that the Crush 'n' Gusher is accessible. Hold on, I'll go and look... hmmmm... can't find it at the moment... anyone else know?

Companion Bathrooms
Blizzard Beach--On the north side of Main Change to the rear of the locker room
Typhoon Lagoon--Near Guest Services

First Aid
Blizzard Beach--Between the Beach Haus and Lottawatta Lodge
Typhoon Lagoon--Adjacent to Leaning Palms

The slides require getting to the top of a hill. One person in the party would have to meet you son at the bottom of the tube or slide and help him get to the edge of the pool and exit into the chair. Slides and tube drop into a pool of water. Some require laying on ones back while others are inner tubes that require the ability to sit up. The inner tube ones are not for all persons as they can send the rider pitching sideways or back and forth.

Typhoon lagoon has a limited amount of water accessible wheelchairs available on a first come first serve basis.

Requirements
Castaway Creek - inner tube, lazy river ride
Crush 'n Gusher - waterslide, must be 48" tall
Gang Plank Falls - waterslide
Humunga Kowabunga - waterslide, must be 48" tall
Keelhaul Falls - waterslide
Ketchakiddee Creek - play area, must be 48" or shorter

They have a kids area that is wheelchair accessible. It has small slides and bubble fountains.

Crushin Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon has a little known elevator. You can also ride up to 3 to a raft. Just find a CM and ask for an escort up. You;d have to take another person up to bring the wc down (or get CM to use a transfer chair), but you could ride all the way with your son. It's a really cool water slide.
