Sing to the tune of A Pirate's Life For Me

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Yo Ho Yo Ho A Disney Cruise for me.
We've packed all the bags, we've gassed up the car.
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
We'll drop off the cat, be back in a snap.
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
Yo Ho Yo Ho A Disney Cruise for me.

We're off to the airport, we've got all our passports.
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
Who's got all the tickets? We don't want to miss it!
Drink up me hardees, let go!
Yo Ho Yo Ho A Disney Cruise for me.

We got on the plane, and sat ourselves down.
Who forgot the kids!
We laughed so hard, as they turned around,
Sit down Mom and Dad, let go!
Yo Ho Yo Ho A Disney Cruise for me.

We got to Orlando, we ran through the airport.
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
We got on the bus, don't make a fuss.
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
Yo Ho Yo Ho A Disney Cruise for me.

We got to the ship, don't make a slip.
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
Get us onboard, we're just a small hoard.
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
Yo Ho Yo Ho A Disney Cruise for me.

The DisBoarders are here, let's all give a cheer!
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
We're off on the cruise, it ought to be smooth.
Drink up me hardees, let's go!
Yo Ho Yo Ho A Disney Cruise for me.

:dance3:

Good luck to everybody and safe travels on your way to the cruise!

pirate: LOVE it! That was awesome. We'll have a group sing-along with it - after many, many glasses of wine!;)

This is the first cruise we've taken since we've moved here to Florida, just 25 minutes from the Port and yet, I'm still feeling stressed to get everything done ...

Well.....If we drive straight thru I can be at the port by 6am on Thursday!!!! but I dont think I can get in the parking lot that early since they have to clear it out from the ones getting off. I hope to be there between 10 and 10:30am.

We were thinking around 11am. What do you think?

Our first cruise (not dcl) our flight was late and we ended up on the boat probably less than an hour before departing. NEVER want to go through that again. Talk about stress :scared:

Looks like several 10am arrivers. Is that a better time than 11am? We are renting a car, so we can get there whenever we want.

We'll be up late the night before at the Pirate and Princess Party at MK, so we'll be dragging that morning.

The last time I was picked up at the airport at 9:30 and was at the port at 10:30 and we went right on in....so hopefully they will get everyone off and we can go on in to check in. I figure by the time we unload the luggage and get parked maybe they will be letting us in the lobby.

Just got home and there was a message from DCL on my answering machine. We were upgraded to a Category 4. We will now be in cabin 8598, starboard aft.
:jumping1:
We will be leaving for Orlando early Wednesday morning and staying at the AK Villas and taking the cruise bus from AK park at 12:45. I think it arrives at the port at about 2:00 to 2:30? I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!DS said he would like to dance with some of the girls at the sail away or pirate party. :rotfl: We'll see if he gets up his nerve. He tends to like "older women" (10, 11, 12 year olds).

That's a great upgrade! And AKL Villas? Wow! There's a great kick off to vacation. I'm jealous. But I can't complain about my accomodations. The price is right and the pool won't be crowded at Donna's house.

We'll be at the port around 10 ish. I like to get on as soon as possible. We want to be in group A this time!
Suzy if you get there at 11 you just have to wait a little longer since you'll probably be the 3rd or 4th group to be called. Not a big deal. It boards quickly.

We'll be easy to spot in our matching shirts. But we're just not sure which shirts they'll be at the moment!!!

This morning we FINALLY told DDs that we're cruising!princess:

First, by coincidence, DD6 decided to wear her t-shirt from a Magic cruise that is signed by all the characters! Maybe she sensed it.....

While eating breakfast, I asked her to read a note I was sending in to her teacher. DD knew she was going to miss school Thursday and Friday but she didn't know exactly WHY, except that the family is coming. It was too funny because as she was reading it, she was so focused on reading each word that she didn't quite get the message - until I had her read it a second time. Needless to say, the excitement began!

Of course, moments later, in typical 6 year old fashion, she then wanted to know why we were only going for 3 nights, not 7, and proceeded to whine about it. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it? :upsidedow

kaykels
05-20-2008, 07:58 AM
Awww man, I was hoping you would wait until we were there. Oh well, it seemed anti-climatic anyway. She MUST be related to Kelsi Jo. Sounds like a response she would have had.
Does she know it's an INSIDE CABIN ON DECK ONE? Then she'll really whine. Or am I confusing her with her dad???

48 Hours To Go.......48 Hours To Go!!!!!

We are almost on the ship everyone!!!!

I am frantically trying to get magnets done. All the stores here have stopped selling the magnet sheets and I ordered some off of ebay but never got them. I told her I wanted a refund and she promptly refunded my money yesterday. I drove 60 miles 1 way to get some last night, came back to work to print them, messed up 1 and forgot to print 2!!! Now everytime I try to do them on a practice paper, the paper is getting jammed in the computer! :headache: All this because I am out of ink at home and all my designs are on my work computer!!!! Well, I have emailed the remaining designs to my daughter and will call her soon to see if she got them and if they look like they will enlarge to print. So now at lunch I am going to break down and go buy the $50 worth of ink that I should have done weeks ago and try to get everything finished tonight. I didnt get tshirts made, we have nothing to wear for pirate night. Maybe, just maybe I can make them tonight also...but I am not holding my breath!

I hope this is not how the rest of my vacation is going to be......ok Pam...calm down....it will be ok!! :rotfl:

As soon as I top that bridge and see the ship I know it will all be ok!

Gotta see if I can get any work done today. Will check in later today to see how ya'll are progressing with the travel plans.

Pam

TiggerzFan
05-20-2008, 09:44 AM
Oh Pam! Deep breath!

...but I know right where you're at. And all this stress for a 3-nighter! Seems like at this point we've earned a 7 nighter.

I, too, had a hard time finding magnetic paper. This time, I'm just printing signs out on card stock and using magnetic tape. Rachel is going to have some of hers laminated at Staples.

As for pirate night, you can always plan on buying pirate themed t-shirts in Nassau. I'm pretty sure that's where we got the one DH wears and it was cheap. No doubt not as special as homemade ones, but much easier!!! pirate:

Hope your printing goes well and your day gets better. As you said, once we top that bridge overlooking the Port, we'll all be in our happy place (once we get parked, get through security, check in and stop sweating that is!)

It's getting close! :woohoo:

Disney Sweetie
05-20-2008, 11:25 AM
I am back....just went to Office Depot and bought ink, more transfer sheets for tshirts and got a free printer!!!

If you buy over $50 worth of ink you got a free HP printer. It is small, but hey it was free!!! And after everything I have been stressed over the past few days, I TOOK IT!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I think we are all getting in vacation mode. You would think I was going to be gone for more than a 3 day cruise the way I am stressing out. Maybe its cause I want it to be perfect for the kids!!

I keep thinking about the Gilligans Island theme song.....3 hour tour.....except ours is a 3 day cruise.....:rotfl: We just dont want no bad weather.

Guess Suzy and her family are in Orlando. Sure wish I was there already!!

Back to work I go......Pam

It hasn't rained in Florida for a month. The grass is brown and there are wild fires. It's been raining in Philly all month.

AND WHEN I CHECKED THE WEATHER FORECAST IT'S CALLING FOR THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN EVERY DAY IN FLORIDA WHILE WE'RE THERE AND IT'S SUNNY AND 75-82 IN PHILADELPHIA!

Last year I cruised over Memorial Day weekend and it rained every day except the day I was leaving to coming home.

Donna (aka TiggerFanzFan), the pm you sent me didn't have an email. I'll send it to you as soon as you can send me that info.

I know there was mention that I could save it somewhere and post a link. Any suggestions of where to do that with an Excel file?

Finally, we are online again.... I just spent 1/2 hour reading through the last 4pages and if I had not been nervous before, I am definetely now after reading your - hysterical - stories. Pam, what you experienced yesterday was exactely what we did 1 day before leaving Switzerland.

Greeting from Magic Kingdom, and we had so far a MAGICAL time, the frist day in Magic Kingdom I was in tears more or less the entire morning, normally I am relaxed and cool but this was just too much. We went to a character dinnerr with Pooh and his friends and I have never ever seen Alena in such a state, she was just starring, laughing and could hardly wait until it was her term to knuddel (hug) them all. She was constantly telling them stories and even though they could not understand her they gave her that extra time. It was awesome and I am in tears again.... here we go.

We have seen Animal Kingdom, gosh, that was great too, Seaworld, 2 times Magic Kingdom and today the girls (me and alena) take a day of to do finalise everything for tomorrow and to spend a few hours at the wonderful volcano pool and beach at the Polynesian.

Hey, I saw about 4 married couples running around in veil and hat, but I did not dare to ask if they are Josh and Melissa, we will see as soon as we meet

We plan to be at the port around 10am, Alena will be walking around in her "Swiss" shirt, red with a white cross, if you spot her find us and finally we meet. I will be looking out for you too.

I will be logging in later again, have a great day

What a great experience!!!! Will definitely be back, as a matter of fact DD and DW started a 'Next Cruise Fund'. Sorry I did not get to meet many of you but we did not have time. Did meet Epcot_VA and family, our neighbors, but that was it. btw, nice meeting you and your family;-) It looks like you guys had fun!!!!

The kids loved the FE gift, thanks to all and sorry for the family in 5122, went there twice and were not able to drop off our goodies.

Lets see some pics? I'll post in a while.

We are back in Virginia! :thumbsup2 Very smooth trip back, plenty of time at the airport. We were among the last to leave the ship. :yay: Megan wanted to wait and BE LAST. We had the 8:15 am Breakfast seating. The bags were real easy to find because most of them were already gone.

We missed everyone at the sail away party. We arrived when it was already underway and I couldn't pick out any DisBoarders in the crowd. :sad2: I probably walked right past some of you too. We did get to meet plc001 and Abca though. :woohoo:

We loved the Fish Extenders! DD Megan and DD Sarah had such a great time handing out the stickers on the first night. We did our best to match the sticker assortment to the family members in each cabin. We basically bought out a store of all their Disney stickers back here in VA. The door magnets were priceless. Every time we came back and saw our door all decorated was great! My DW and I especially liked the Donald Duck "I Don't Want to Go Home" and the "DCL Addict". :rotfl2:

plc001 - I tend to take a lot of pictures. Since we were on the same shore excursion in Nassau, let me know if you would like me to send you any pictures. I think I got some great shots of the manta rays at Atlantis. I also have plenty of pictures of the ship. I got brave and took my video camera up on our parasailing adventure. I hope to post it on YouTube sometime next week. If I get it done, I'll post a link for anybody who would like to see it. I flew with DD Sarah (8) and DW Beth flew with DD Megan (10).

ABCA - Did you guys finish the Scavenger Hunt on Castaway Cay?

Lots more to say. But I need to unpack and look at my photos. :goodvibes

We rebooked while onboard for a 7-Night Eastern on 10/24/2009. The girls will celebrate their 10th and 12th birthdays on that cruise! :yay: They were born on the same day two years apart.

Yes it was fun! We too are all burned. We used sunblock 30 and applied 3 times! The sun is just that strong down there! We booked the 7 night tortola on the Magic for next year memorial day weekend. The three days is just too short! Thank you all for the wonderful and fun gifts! It was really fun and too short!

We are all burned as well. I came out the best because I wore a t-shirt all day. It saved my shoulders and back at least. My DW, DD 10 and DD 8 all got the worst of it. We put on SPF50 in the morning, but forgot to reapply throughout the day. :scared1: Lesson learned for the next cruise.

What did everybody do on Castaway Cay? We did the parasailing. We would like to try the Banana Boat Ride next time.

What did everyone enjoy the most on the cruise? Let's hear the stories.

Home as well -- enjoyed doing the FE with everyone

We got burnt as well - thought we had enough sun block on - but I guess not

For those who dont think catching an early flight is possible - we were off the ship at 7:25 - picked up by FL Tours at 7:30 - airport about 8:10 and were at the gate before boarding for a 9am flight that we went stand-by on - originally we were scheduled for 11am - dont recommend the 9am flight - but we were shocked we were able to do it

Great Pictures! I will have to pick out my best ones and put them up on a hosting site. I saw that you had a couple of pictures with Rachel in them. We stopped and talked to her on the way back to the ship. I thought she was great in the shows. Especially her portrayal of Sid and Cruella de Ville. Lots of energy and her expressions were priceless.

I sent you a PM about e-mailing the photo I mentioned.

Thanks,

Hey all...:)

Just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. It's been a busy post-cruise with the whole family here at the house. Sunday we were lazy and hung around the house and pool - we were all quite burned, too - but went to Downtown Disney and then snuck over to the Grand Floridian to watch the MK fireworks and have Mickey Bars. Today we actually went into the Magic Kingdom. Rachel and crew all leave early in the morning.

Had a great cruise, though much too short leaving us trying to cram everything in. My family did rebook for 11-7-09 to St. Croix/St. Thomas, but that date is always subject to change, and to be supplemented with another FL Resident Rate cruise (or two??).

Loved meeting everyone! And we loved the FE game.... our first time doing it. Thanks so much to everyone for the wonderful goodies - stickers, candies, magnets, hats, toys, mickey tags and so much more!

I am also burned. Mostly my face!! We parasailed at 9am and then went to Serenity Bay. While at Magic Kingdom on Sunday I got the most stares. I started to just make a sign to carry that said.....Yes I got burned while enjoying myself at Castaway Cay!! What is your excuse??.....

We made it home around 7pm last night. It was wonderful meeting all of the ones that I did meet. Wish we could of had more time together.

Everyone stay in touch!!

For all of you early birds...

What time did they let you into the cruise terminal?
Then, what time were you actually able to get on board?

We are planning to use a car service for our next cruise to arrive a bit earlier. (It will also be cheaper for the four of us ;) )

We got to the terminal parking lot about 10:15am and got front row parking. We unloaded and went directly into the terminal. I think we were on board by noon. I was standing near Donna and Rachel when they called our number so maybe they remember. We did not wait to long.

Hope that helps!

We arrived "late", by our standards, at about 10:45am. Just TRY getting 12 family members dressed, packed up, kids' hair done and out the door! :tilt: Rachel and I were going nuts while the manfolk looked on from a distance. They know better than to get in our way by now!!:tiptoe:

It took us all of about 10 minutes to get through security and then check in. We got Group #4 for boarding but we were called right around Noontime, I think. We spent the hour or so in the terminal meeting up with some DISers, taking pictures with Captain Mickey, picking up pagers for the kids' club, etc. It was perfect timing.

Thanks Pam & Donna! :thumbsup2

We have been busy planning our next cruise. (A favorite passtime right after we end a vacation) I think we should arrive at WDW two days before sailing, car service over to the port, sail, and car service back to WDW for one additional night. (We get off the cruise Halloween Day 2009). We will head back to WDW for Mickey's Halloween Party!

We arrived at the cruise terminal about 2:00 PM and were on the ship at 2:49 PM. We felt a bit rushed to settle in before the Lifeboat Drill. The DCL Bus didn't leave the Boardwalk until 12:45 PM.

Definitely give the car service a try and arrive earlier. There's a yummy lunch as soon as you board and then plenty of time to arrange (or rearrange) dining and Palo ressies/spa ressies, confirm kids' club registration, find your stateroom, decorate your door, possibly unpack, meet your stateroom host, explore the ship and get the kids in the Mickey Pool all before the Lifeboat Drill. (And yes, we pretty much did all that!) Then you can enjoy the Sail Away Party and know your cruise is in full swing!

We have finally made it back to Nebraska. We spent another 2 days in Orlando after the cruise. I think I need a vacation to rest from my vacation!

Ditto on the sunburn. I'm so sore! Luckily I work from home or I'd be tortured today.

Thanks to everyone for the fish extender gifts! Riley was so excited everytime we went back to the room. He couldn't wait to see what was in the pockets. He wants to start this at home. He wanted to know if the neighbor had put a present on the doorstep :rotfl2:

We didn't rebook on the ship, but are definately thinking about a longer cruise next time. Three days is not enough!

And many more, what kind of camera do you have or is it the photographer?:)

I used different cameras for different pictures.

PIC_038 - (Sony DSC-W170 10.1 MP Camera)
PIC_068 - (Sony DSC-W170 10.1 MP Camera)
PIC_118 - (Canon Digital Rebel Xti w/10-22mm Ultra-Wide Angle Lens)
PIC_162 - (Sony HDR-UX7 Handycam)

The DSC-W170 is brand new. I just got it a couple weeks before the cruise. It has excellent low light capabilities. I used it for the shows. The Canon is my camera of choice when I don't mind lugging around all of the lenses. The Handycam video camera can take still photos even while taping. That is why the aspect ratio is kind of "widescreen". That is my favorite shot of the whole trip. I took 1033 pictures total. That includes our day at WDW.

While we LOVED our cruise, and any DCL cruise is a good cruise, did anyone else, especially veteran cruisers, feel like that was just WAY too short and WAY too rushed and exhausting? I felt like we were always rushing to get somewhere or to get something done. There was no sea day to just hang out and enjoy the ship and activities.

Of course we realized it was "just a 3 nighter" when we booked, but even DH says he's exhausted and needs a vacation now!:rotfl:

WAY too rushed and exhausting

This was our first cruise ever, we where eating breakfast at 8am and back in bed at 11pm exhausted. My DD wanted nothing to do with the teens activities, since we were so tired. My DS spend maybe 1/2 in the club, but had to pull him out for the shows. Granted, we could had drop the kids of and go our way, but it was a family vacation. Maybe next time, we can split.

No pool time, no other extra activities. Did not even get a chance to order room service!!!

So much for all the tips that I studied here. Next time, we will skip some excursions to be able to do other things in the ship.

  We still had the best time ever:banana:

WE can safely say, we are crossing a 3 night off of our list. Been there, done that, I'm staying on LONGER next time. It was exhausting. I knew what we were in for. And it sure beat the heck out of walking the parks. But we need more time to unwind. Just think, if it was a 7 nighter, we would have just got off yesterday.
Plenty of time to enjoy the ship on the 7 nighter. Harder to lose the weight though! But I'm willing to sacrafice a pant size.

WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE???

I did order some iced tea from room service after we got back from Castaway Cay because we were so hot and thirsty. It was so good and COLD!!!

Well our little family rebooked for the St. Croix/St. Thomas Cruise on 11-7-09 and got a secret porthole room. :cool2: And for that alone I was excited! Not sure the likelihood of that date sticking, but worth a shot. The week after that is a double dip (!) but it was a few hundred more. Need to coordinate with Rachel's crew.

You should have heard the conversations onboard between us and CoffeeGuy/Girl.... we were all set to stay onboard for a back-to-back 4-nighter - which would have given us a TRIPLE DIP!!! (Translation - 3 stops at Castaway). We were tempted and CoffeeGuy kept us posted of availability. Tempting, tempting.

One nice (but very small) bonus was there was NO waiting to talk to Leslie (Rebooking Desk)! On our last Magic cruise, lines were deep to see her. Glad to see she switched over - she's soooo sweet and really helpful.

I am most definitely planning on sneaking in another FL resident rate cruise, if any 4 or 7 nights come out.

We rebooked with Leslie on the last night. We meant to rebook onboard before we even got on the ship. I just never got time to go see her before the last night. She was quite busy then. We booked a 7 night St. Thomas for only $700 more that this 3 night cruise was! We sail again 10/24/2009.

As for the length of this cruise...

We knew it would be short. However, it felt longer than I expected. This time we knew the ship, knew where to go and when. I think we pretty much hit everything that we had planned. I got some hot tub time, found the gym, the kids got enough pool and beach time, parasailing, took 1033 pictures, kept our cabin a bit more organized than last time, and everyone had plenty of fun. All in all a fantastic vacation.

The perfect trip always leaves you wanting a bit more. It gives you something to look forward to next time. :cloud9:

Hallo to all of you sweet ones

It was so wonderful meeting you all (or most of you, sorry, a few we never had the chance to meet).

We had a great time on the cruise but as mentioned before, it was much too short, next time we will be on a longer one, thats for sure, but we might not be able to do this too soon again, it is a looooooong way for us, after all.

Hey, did I mention, on the first day, we arrived there at sharp 10am and I was the first in line for check-in for first timers, I was soooo proud, we got boarding tickets Nr. 2 and were on the ship at noon.

After the cruise we spent some days at Disney Vero Beach resort, nice, quite place, very relaxed and had a great time there - but no internet access.

And now we spend the last 2 days of our awesome trip in Fort Lauderdale, and then on Sunday, we fly home. After all this time, we are looking forward to see family and friends again, Alena is missing them desperately but she still has a great time just being in the pool for hours.

Talk to you soon again, I was thinking about getting all the e-mails together, to stay in contact more easiely. For all those interested aswell, just drop me am pm with your full name, address and e-mail and I will put it into a excel and send back to all of you.

Have a great time and talk to you soon again

Donna and Rachel, I have been looking thru all our digital pictures and could not find the one of your families. I knew I took one with my camera also. Well, I finally got some of the pictures back that I took with my 35mm and there you were. You have a great loooking group!!

Cant believe 2 weeks ago we were meeting at the sail away party! Time just goes by to fast.

Talk to you all soon.....I hope!

Hi Pam, I'm sure Donna can field that one, she just emailed the picture that you took with her camera.
I know, I can't believe that it was only 2 weeks ago. Back to the real world way too fast. We have a heat wave coming in this weekend. 100+ degrees. We're not used to that kind of heat up north!!!

It was great meeting you, as well as all of the others. You have a great family as well.
BTW, we almost threw 2 family members overboard. Pictures can be deceiving. hee hee.

:wave2: I'm enjoying breaking into the Hershey bars one by one.

Donna

Yours actually made it home ??? I'm impressed.
Not mine. And the swiss chocolate was all mine. Yes, I must admit, I stole it out of my kids fish extender pockets. But I shared 2 pieces. :confused3

Anyone thinking about 10/31/09 7 night cruise? That's the one we are looking at right now.

Anyone know anything about what happens on the ship for Halloween?

We'll be getting off the ship that day.

We're sailing on 10/24/2009 and plan to go WDW afterward for Mickey's Halloween Party. :wizard:

Donna was supposed to be on the Halloween 08 cruise but landed on the 3 night instead. That's a bummer.
I read on the boards that they give out candy, but it's not a big deal. The Dis-ers usually organize their own and the kids go cabin to cabin "trick or treating". Aren't the Dis boards great?

Hey all! We made it back home after our crazy Disney honeymoon.

I've been slammed with stuff at work, and we've been apartment hunting!

Just wanted to check in and say hi! As you see in my sig, I've started a trip report -- so hopefully you all will check in and read!

We had a WONDERful time on the cruise! It was great meeting some of you and we LOVED playing the fish extender game! Hope you all are readjusting to life in the real world!

We miss the DCL already!

Cheers,
Josh

Josh -

Glad to hear everything went well! Congrats again. I can't believe we never got to meet you two. Hmmmm, the honeymooners were MIA quite a bit... where could they have been?:rolleyes1

We enjoyed the FE game, too. And, your FE was super cute, though a few of us DISers commented that you didn't leave any extra pockets for future DISers! LOL!

OH, isn't DSIL hysterical! Somehow she talked me into giving up my deposit for a Cat 6 on a double dip Magic cruise to take a 3-night Wonder cruise in a Cat 10 on deck 1. :headache:
But, then again, if we hadn't switched cruise dates, we wouldn't have met all of you!

And, GET THIS, she's trying to talk us into another cruise line  for November, one with smaller staterooms and barely average food, except for the premium restaurants. Bad DISer, bad, bad, bad.

Stay tuned....popcorn::

Rachel should be ashamed of herself!!! Cruising on a different cruise lines!?!?!?

Hope you all are doing well.

I am busy getting started on planning a wedding! Yep Leissa and Charlie have decided on September 5, 2009. :lovestruc They will be going on the Disney Magic for their honeymoon but not until September 26. Hopefully by us doing some of the planning now, along with a cruise payment, it wont be so hard. They registered with Disney Honeymoons too. And to think, they had never stepped foot on a Disney Cruise before May 22!

Talk to you all soon!

Pam - Congrats to Leissa and Charlie! And a Disney Honeymoon, could you be more thrilled?? :cloud9:

Still trying to figure out how to get back on a Disney cruise before next November. FL resident rates are out for lots of 3 night cruises but not sure I want to do that again. In years past, there were usually a good amount of 7 night cruises to choose from, but not for quite awhile now.

Hope everyone is doing well. Happy Father's Day to all the DISer Daddies!pirate:

Thanks Donna! We have been making lists of everything that needs to be bought or planned so that we can make sure we dont miss anything. With this much time it should all work out just fine.

I hope they will offer some FL rates soon so you can plan a cruise before next November! Just keep watching. If I see anything or get a fax about it I will try to let you know.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

Pam -

PM me with your email address so I can send over the pic of your family.

Are you getting the (almost) daily thunderstorms we are? Crazy, but we need the rain so badly.

Just wondering if anyone is still checking in. Boy our summer has been flying by and really rainy. We've lucked out not to have the flooding that Iowa has had. It's been much cooler than usual also. Can't complain about that!

I've been dreaming of another cruise. I'm so jealose of those of you who are already booked for your next one. Derek wants to hold off until it's closer and we are sure our friends can join us.

Hi Suzy - and everyone!

Don't fret about not having another one booked yet. Our next one, assuming we stick with the date, is next November - which is way, way too long. Sometimes the best cruises are the ones that come up last minute and then you don't have to wait so long. We are really hoping to catch a FL resident rate again on a 4 or 7 nighter - no more 3 night cruises. Unless, it's really a last minute deal!

I have a special cruise box in my closet with our pirate outfits, matching disney print outfits, lanyards, t-shirts,etc, all waiting for any "emergency packing"! :thumbsup2 The Fish Extender is hanging on the wall of our Bonus Room ( a common term in FL, really a play room) which is now decorated in a classic Mickey theme with many cruise photos on display.

Glad to hear you're not getting all that flooding, it sounds terrible. Our weather has done a total reverse from the weather we had at cruise time. At that time we had wildfires causing major damage and no rain for months. Now, we have thunderstorms almost daily. I don't mind the rain so much, but there's a lot of lightening strikes around here.

Our summer is coming to an end soon as school starts in just 3 weeks!

Anyone else hoping to cruise when the new ships arrive?

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Everyone!

Hope everyone has had a great summer. Like Donna said, we are getting rain almost daily. It is raining right now!! As long as it is not a hurricane, I am ok with it.

Oh Donna, my sister broke the news to me yesterday that she is moving to Lake Wells, FL on August 7. I am sooo upset but have come to the conclusion, that now I have even more reason to visit the Orlando area!! I have always been the one wanting to move to Florida and instead she is. If I could talk Mike into it, I could probably get there! But he doesnt want to have to re-train for his job.

Only 5 weeks until my next cruise. It will be the 5 nighter on the Magic when it returns from the west coast. Then as of right now I will be back on the Magic with the whole family Sept. 26, 2009. Who knows, maybe I can sneak in another between the two!

Cant wait to see where the new ships are going. Will have to book one of those for sure.

Keep in touch!!!

I would love to move to Florida. Derek I discussed how fun it must be to be able to go on a cruise more often. We can't be too spontaneous with airlines doing what they are doing.

I did get some possible good news last night. Derek has a trade show in Orlando and I am working my ears off to find a way to join him.

Hey Suzy....Is the Trade Show around Sept.6 - 11 or so?? I know there is one during that time. I will be getting off of the 5 night cruise on Sept 6 and will fly home on Sept 8. Maybe you can find a way to go with him and we can get together for lunch ar something. I am not sure what my plans are right now. I had planned on going to stay with my sister, but may stay at WDW and drive down to see her Saturday or Sunday. Maybe we could talk Donna into coming over and we could eat lunch at Downtown Disney.

Keep my posted on your plans and maybe I will see you.

The trade show in January 16-18, 2009. Too bad it's not in September. Lunch would have been great.

Derek asked if I would be bored to be at DW by myself. I looked at him like he was crazy. I think he forgot who he was married to. I think it would be interesting to look at the parks in a different way, being able to wander around to areas that you bypass when you are rushing from ride to ride. I love the rides, but I'm all about the experience too, which is hard to do when your dh is dragging you to the next ride.

Oh well....it was a thought anyway....but hey, I CAN make plans to be down in January!! LOL.... Traveling to Orlando is my middle name!

Keep in touch and maybe we can work it out to see each other in January.
