I was hoping some of you might have your own personal pictures of wearing the baggalini messenger bag I keep hearing so much about. I'm really torn about buying it. I have an unhealthy bag obsession and I really want it, but I just bought like 3 (none similar to this one, though!) and I think my boyfriend will hurt me if I buy another one! We're running out of closet space. Anyway, back on topic... The only thing I'm worried about is that it will be TOO big. I don't like to carry around a ton of stuff, but the bag I use now is a little too small. I was hoping to see what they looked like on and out and about to sway me one way or the other. I'll probably have to hide it for awhile, at least until it blends in with the growing collection! ;o) I know they have a few pictures online, but I'd like to see yours from WDW. Thanks!

Are you trying to see it for compartment size? I am looking through my photobucket right now. My pictures mostly show me wearing it where it is on my back or sitting next to me. I will post a few just in case.

Just for a frame of reference, I am only about 5' 1". I found the bag to be a great size and easy to organize. The only negative was that the adjustable strap did have a tendency to slide. I am going to put a pin on it this summer. I used carabiner clips to put Pal Mickey onto the bag and keep the pouches closed. The pouches did not open, but they would make it unattractive to a dishonest person.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

You can sometimes get them on ebay; I got mine at REI outlet, but I don't see any there right now. I've also heard about EBags (sp?). Do a search here on the DIS for "baggallini" (2 g's, 2 l's) for more info...

This thread has the info and a $10 off discount code. Mine came to under $20. And the red one is a wonderful color, as you can tell from the pictures.

I've seen them in stores, but the messenger bag retails for close to $40, so usually you can find better deals online. I'd recommend you try to find one in a store to see if it's comfy, then buy it online.

Free returns if you don't like the bag too! Just print out the label they give you, tape up the box and bring it to a UPS store or Staples! Too easy!

Thanks for the pictures! I am just trying to see what it looks like on the average person. My problem is that I am fairly tall and sometimes can have a hard time getting bags with straps like this to fall correctly. In some of the pics online it looks so huge and like it adds a foot to the back of you. I like the second pic of yours. It makes it seem like it doesn't extend out so far which is what I was really concerned about.

It really isn't a large bag. When I ordered mine about this time last year, I did so because of all the great reviews. When I opened the box, I thought now how am I going to fit everything we need in here! I considered returning it. It actually was the perfect size. I could fit 4 ponchos (2 adult, 2 child), snacks, hand wipes, small containers of medicine, chap stick, cell phone, money, autograph pages, markers, pen, pressed penny tubes, and credit cards. I was also able to hook things to it with carabiners - Pal Mickey facing front and the small mister fans from Wal-Mart on the back. You can also hook your lime green Mickey on the outside.

This picture might give an additional perspective. I had the bag slung a bit low because I had moved it forward to dig in it.

Glad I could help... the nice part about the small size is it keeps you from over packing. You only bring what you need.

I just got one from the REI outlet at a ridiculous price (if only you were looking for this bag last week!), and right now I'm carrying a wallet, my Canon S3, and my calendar book in the main compartment. There are two zippered compartments outside of that, a velcro pocket on one size, mesh pocket on the other, and a zippered (with mesh pocket inside) compartment on the front strap for a cell phone or cash. It's bigger than I thought it was, but much more comfortable than the smaller REI bag I was using as purse/camera bag.

If I get pix later I'll post them.

I used my bag for the first time last year and loved it. I kept the room card and photopass cards in the strap pocket.
I also had:
a camera
maps
touring plans (on paper)
wet wipes (NECESSITY)
hand sanitizer (another necessity)
bandaids for just in case
cellphone (don't store next to room keys or credit cards - the cards will deactivate)
snacks which we never ate
water bottle

The water bottle made it a tad heavy but we drank it so no biggie. I also put everything in baggies just in case I got wet. My DH also carried it around so I wasn't the pack mule the whole time. ;)

By the end of a day at WDW, even my shirt feels heavy. :rotfl:

Seriously, the way it hangs is quite good. I never felt like bending to counterbalance. There is good padding in the straps as well so I never felt like it was digging in my neck. The only thing I had to get used to was the parting of the chest area where the strap divides the womanly parts. ;) I would definately take that over back pain since I can't take my chiropractor along!

Hope this helps!

I bought my Baggalini for our September trip last year and got it for 13.00 on amazon.com, which is a steal! Anyway, I used it the whole trip, but the one thing I did not like was the way it would lay on my chest in between the girls.......ahem. It was oh so unflattering. I was never able to find a way to fix it.

I have that bag as well but mine is black. My biggest complaints were that the side strap likes to slip and makes the bag sit on my hip instead of my back. Also, after a while of slidding around, my neck was a little red and itchy. Hopefully I can find a clip that will hold it in place for my next trip. And the fact that the bag is designed to sit on 1 side and you can't swap to the opposite shoulder. It's also so big and roomy; I packed so much stuff that I didn't need which made it heavier than it should have been. :)

I did love the fact that I could just slide it over and stick it on my side for most slower rides or when I needed to get something out of it (I didn't have to pull it off and on a lot). The only really fast ride I rode was TT and I just stuck it on the floor and put my leg through the strap.

For those of you who keep your camera in the baggallini, do you have it in a small camera bag , then in the baggallini? Just wondering if that would fit. I plan on buying this bag and don't want to carry a separate bag for my camera.
Bumbershoot: I see you have an S3, I have an S5 - do you just keep yours "loose" in your bag? :confused3

I haven't done any traveling with it yet, so I had just moved the camera from my REI bag (which was padded, which was why I bought it, LOL, b/c all those camera bags by LowePro etc looked like codpieces to me) to the just-picked-up-from-REI baggallini. I haven't yet determined what I will do for normal traveling with the camera.

It's possible I will line the bag with a tshirt, or it's more probable I'll have my camera out for quite a lot of the traveling days! I do love taking pictures with my baby (the S3, that is). :upsidedow

But right now I don't know.

I don't have an S5 but a simular Sony H5. In the parks I always wear my camera. I have the case for the camera for the plane but don't use that in the parks.

I don't use the baggallini messenger bag-just a backpack and I just have extra batteries and more memory in that.

I do have and really like the baggallini cell phone bag.

But right now I don't know.

I got info about this camera pouch from the Photography Forum. Its just a simple neoprene case for your camera, doesn't take up any extra space b/c its a bit like a sleeve or glove, tho not that tight. I bought a large one for my rebel, just for protection while its around my neck in the parks but also in case I want to stick it in the backpack while I am not using it. I wish I'd known about them when I bought my s2 years ago, then it might not be so scratched up. Sometimes you just don't need a bulky case, especially if the camera is going to be in a backpack or sling.

http://www.optechusa.com/product/detail/?PRODUCT_ID=32&PRODUCT_SUB_ID=&CATEGORY_ID=5

Its not really designed to protect from crushing or dropping, but it will protect from scratches, dings, sand, and help keep water off the camera.

Back to trying to figure out which sling I need.....

I just dug through our pictures and in everyone, the Baggalini is draped across our stroller back. I only wore it when we were going into rides and left the stroller behind. Our last trip I fit my S2 IS in the camera bag in it, along with diapers, wipes, change of clothes for DS2, autograph books, sunscreen, sippy cup, first aid kit and who knows what else shoved in the pockets (cell phone, hand sanitizer, travel size wipes) I used it for a diaper bag when we got back since I loved how there was a space or pocket for everything. I always wear mine over my shoulder instead of across the front unless I'm somewhere where it might fall off, like a ride or the tram.

I have a Bagallini that I used in 3/07 when we took DS 1 1/2. We never brought an extra change of clothes for him but it did nicely hold the days supply of diapers, a wipe caddy, sunscreen, band aids, hand sanitizer, 3 Dollar Store ponchos, sippy cup, Cheerios container, and camcorder in the main compartment. On the strap, I carried my AP, debit card, and cell phone. (yes yes, I know they shouldn't have been stored together.....) My only complaint was that it got hot under the front strap and I had a permanent sweaty spot between the girls. We'll definitely be using it in June. DS will be 2 1/2 by then and we can travel light!

DH and I went in 12/07 but w/o DS so I scaled back and used only my camera bag. We also learned that we hate our camcorder and are much happier with our Canon S5 that has video capacity. We could've saved ourselves some $$ if we'd figured that out sooner! So go Canon S5 users!

I have a great shot of me wearing the bag but it's got DS in it and call me weird, I don't like posting pictures of my kids on a public forum. I'm normally not paranoid, just about this, actually. :rolleyes1
