We're planning on getting a reservation at OKW for 8 nights and inviting my mom and stepdad to go with us. My parents are only planning on being there for the first 5 nights in which would get a 2 bedroom and then switch to a 1 bedroom for the remaining 3 nights. So now to my questions.

1.) Would we all have to get the same tickets since we are going to be in the same room?

2.) If we did the DDP, would we all have to be on it?

3.) How would it work with our tickets and switching from a 2-bdrm to a 1-bdrm?

TIA!!!

You can make two separate reservations--one for 5 nights in a two bedroom and the other for 3 nights in a one bedroom.

All guests registered in a room must be on the DDP. You and your parents would only be on the DDP the first 5 nights. On the second reservation you can do the DDP or decide not to.

You would check out of the first reservation and the check in for the second reservation and given new room key cards.

What about tickets? They only want to get a 3 or 4 day ticket and we would want a 7 or 8 day ticket since we are going to be there longer. Would that be OK? Would we have to get 2 separate sets of tickets for my family's stay?

You don't need to have the same tickets. You could each buy a different ticket from a different source if you wanted to, and still get the dining plan.

My DH is Active Duty. So we could go over to SoG and buy our tickets?

You can buy any discounted ticket you want. Park admission is not a part of DVC.

When we've stayed at a Disney Hotel in t past, our tickets and DDP were on our room key. This is the first time we're renting and staying in a DVC. Will those be on our room key (I know the DDP had to be ordered through our rentee...the actual theme park tickets we order straight from Disney)? Or is there a way to get them onto our room key? It just makes it that much more convenient.

They can put your tickets on your room key. When I took my niece a couple of years ago, I had an AP but bought her a park hopper when I checked in. They put her park hopper on her key, I had it done at the guest service desk at BWV.

But if you put your tickets on your room key from your first resevation they can not move the tickets to another key, so after you move you need to hang on and use your room key from the first reservation.

This is also the case if you buy no expiring tickets, you have to keep your old room kety.
