What is the best way to find a good rate to stay at the Grand Californian? Is the Disney Club my best bet for the cheapest rate? Do they give DL AP holders a discount at that hotel?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! :) :)

Hi Carol! There are "Super Sunday" rates for annual passholders that are great rates, subject to availability. Disney Club discounts are available too, but they are not as good as the Super Sunday rates.

Good luck! :)

Right, I was able to get Super Sunday room-only rates through Dreams, using my premium annual pass. Sometimes there are AAA discounted rooms available... your best bet for those are to call the Disneyland CRO directly ans ask about those and any other discounts they may be offering at the time. And the third option that was promising was Expedia/Travelscape, but not Travelocity for the GC. Travelocity has discounts available sometimes for DLH and PP, but not GC. I may be wrong, but I think the Disney Club discounts are usually only on packages. I may be wrong.

As far as Disney Club discounts go, my understanding from previous posts and from DU is that room only discounts are only available by calling them directly, not through DU. DU does offer DC discounts on packages though, which is what I did last October (saved about $100!).

Though I'm not a fan of WDW packages, I really like the DL ones. I've used them several times, some at Good Neighbor Hotels, and most recently, at GC, and I've always come out ahead as opposed to piecing together everything myself. And the things in the packages are practical things that we made use of.

I think discounts at GC are hard to come by in general, because it's so new, and it seems to be very popular right now. I've seen a few on some of the sites Teri mentioned, but I think you have to be flexible with your dates to use them.
