All those who used the 40% off code to book standard rooms....

Did any of you get to book anything other than standard or garden views?

Were any of you allowed to "request" a preference on your reservation for view or location of your room?

I booked the garden view room a few weeks ago. Then, this week, my travel agent added my room request to the reservation.

What good comes of it, we'll find out in August!

I booked standard view rooms. At Animal Kingdom I hope I get an upgrade, but I'm to shy to ask for one. At POR I booked a Standard, since all the rooms have great views in my opinion. I just have to remember to call back and request the Mansions.

I was able to book CBR in October, 40% with a preferred room near the food court. Sounded good to me. Though to be honest, I would taken any kinf of view for 40% off.

I was able to book a savanna view with our 40% discount at AKL! We are going in SEPT. 08.
And Yes, I was able to make a request :)

We got woods view at WL, and courtyard view was also available. Standard view was NOT available, at least for the dates we wanted. And some dates the package, including the 40% off room, was only available with one of the dining plans (i.e. deluxe but not standard dining, or vice versa). THis according to my travel agent, I think she said they had a limited # of particular packages/room types at the discounted price available for any given dates. :confused3

There is no such thing as one dining plan being available but not the other and this I can guarantee you. The discount availability is on the room and has nothing to do with the dining plan chosen. Disney wants you to have the dining plan and only you know which one fits you best and it is all about getting the best vacation tailored to your needs. It is Magic Your Way afterall!

Last year I booked using the 40% off code and asked for a ground floor corner room and got it.

Probably not what you were asking exactly.. but.. hey.. what the heck? :)

I booked my vacation last year with the 40% off code and requested the Mansions bottom floor in POR. I got exactly what I asked for! Had some questions about king bed vs. 2 doubles, but I got what I had requested. I guess they assume 2 people want a king bed?

I wanted to book a standard room, but only concierge at the Poly was available. We were going to pay about the same amount anyway, so the 40% off made the concierge a bonus.

Well I called back for the third time since making reservations to see if there was a pool view room available at AKL for our dates, but all that's available is standard view. Should I call back and have pool view added as a request, or maybe that isn't allowed since pool view is an actual booking category?:confused3

We are going Dec. 7-14 and when I originally booked POR, the only room available with the code and for those dates was a water view so I took it. I have since switched my ressie to AKL and both times I called, I was told the only rooms available with the code at that time frame was standard view only. I guess it depends on the dates you choose. I wanted at least pool view but since it's our first deluxe, I'm just happy to be staying there.

I thought only deluxes were available in the 40% off mailing that is available for 7 times during the year??

The mailing that I got included Deluxes. My friend applied hers to a Moderate without a problem.

But it may depend on the particulars of the code you receive.

My sister booked us two tower MK view rooms at the MK and were guaranteed connecting rooms (which neither of us were aware was possible, we always thought it was just a request. Hopefully the CM was correct, if not we'll make due.)
