There was suppose to be 17 of us but my sister who is preggo and due in April isn;t coming after all. Her Fiance is a NYPD officer who is transfering to a upstate police dept so he doesn;t think they will get the time off plus they needed to start looking for a house. We were suppose to split the 2150 cost of the house(total after security deposit) so it would have been 534 each family but since she dropped out we have to pay her part.. not too happy about that one. it would have made us pay 717 each. Well me and my sister told my youngest sister she should have to pay something to us to help offset it cause she knew about this trip for over 2 yrs. Well she is giving us 100 each. guess 617 is better than 717 right.
Well yesterday mom says don;t count them out yet, NYPD might get off if he talks to his new police dept... My head is spinning going, not, going, not.
Well the 12 of us have ADR's at Chef Mickeys on Weds at 7:15 cause it will close early for P&PP. We woudl have to cancel those since i dont think you can add 4 and a newborn to your reservation right

was on the phone last night with by BFF and now she wants to go, I would love having them stay with us but my sister will be like" I only want family staying" even though it would save us all money. She looked up some hotels in the area and it would be cheaper for her to stay at one of those.. The Howard Johnson maingate east is only 39.99-49.99 depending on which discount site your on. I didn;t know they made it so cheap. I hope her hubby can work the numbers for them to go. I haven;t seen her in 2 yrs and spending a whole week with her would be awesome

I'm here.
Wow, good luck with the planning.
We rented a house our first time. My kids still talk about the rented house with a pool and they could of cared less about WDW.
I hope that isn;t the problem. I am worried about getting to do everything we want in the parks
our plan is
Friday- leave and drive to the villa
Sat relax then DTD
Sun-AK
Mon-Epcot
Tues- off day / pm to mk or epcot for fireworks?
Wed- MK/ 7:15 ADR at chef mickeys (pp&p night)
Thur-DS
Friday-am MK/clean,pack relax
Sat head home
eat most meals when we can at home to save money
I am nervous about everything being that it is the first time there. I am a planner and I dont want to make a mistake. I fear I will mess up somehow or someone will complain. I am following TGM's plans and this PP&P is messing up my MK day to see the fireworks, that is why I am trying to figure out a time to see them. We are doing just Magic your way tickets but we are buying from UCT and they have the buy 4 days get 2 free so we have that extra day where we could go on Tues or Friday night to see the fireworks at Disney. What would you do?????

If you are not to tired I would do the Fireworks Tuesday nite, since this is your day off to unwind. It is a nice way to end your vacation too. But Friday nite might be really busy with weekend people coming in and they like to start their trip off with going to the MK.

does anyone know about toll roads? Somewhere i read it is like 2-3 bucks through the toll roads. I am staying off S.poincinia(sp) rd below 17 in the Cresent lake subdivison. how is the best way to get there from I4 from Daytona area? we will be driving down I26 to I4 around the area I think. Will we hit toll roads to get to the parks?
ehstrojette
03-04-2008, 07:28 PM
Less than 90 days left till we hit the road. I am so worried about not having enough spending money but I think 2500 should be enough. figured for 8 days is about 300 a day. I believe we should get the tax rebate before we go s that will help for back up money. Good thing DH SS# ends in 04 we will get it first.
My youngest sister who backed out of the trip only has 1 month left till she has her baby and her BF and her have found a house they like in the same hometown cause he took a job with the Corning PD after working as NYPD police officer.
My middle sister who will be going with us is the only person I talk Disney to besides you guys. She has 2 kids about the same ages as mine so it will be easy to do fun things together for the kids
speaking of kids. I bought my son a backpack harness for disney, I tell you the kid can run away fast and he thinks it is so funny.. not . Do any of you guys use them?

First off - relax ...:)
Since this is really your first time at WDW: the key to WDW is to relax and not try to see/do everything. So don't plan to stick religiously to any touring plan once you get to the parks ... go with the flow ...
Also, you should sit down with your fellow travellers and prioritize what you want to see in the parks - :grouphug: and don't be afraid to split up if different people want to do different things ...
And with a few younger kids, remember this advice -
Go early - take an afternoon break - and then head back to the parks later ...
This is a "must" with the little ones - and the adults will appreciate a rest, too - especially later in the week when all the walking starts to take its toll ...
Also - make sure to get "First Visit" pins at Guest Services the first park you visit ...
For Saturday - by "DDD" did you mean "DTD"?
You may want to save AK for later in the week -it closes earlier than the other parks, so it makes for a short day ...
You should try to hit MK Fiday night for "Wishes" - that's a great way to end the trip, and that will give you a "whole" day at the MK ... you could pack/clean during the Friday afternoon break and Saturday morning.
On Tuesday night, if you're not too wasted from the beach, you may want to head back to Epcot (one day at Epcot is not nearly enough time!!)
That will use up your 6 days of tix ... :teacher:

Everyone thinks I am nuts for planning so far in advance but I think you have to plan this early.
Now I would like to put a bag together for each of the kids and need help deciding what to put into it and also what to put the stuff into. I have autograph books i bought for the younger 4 kids and misting fans for them also. I think I will ask someone on the Design board for the names to iron on each bag but I need help on other things to fill it.
I also need to find a hotel around GA/FL board which will sleep 7 people in one room like a suite or something. There are places where kids stay free under 18. I would like it to be less than 120 for the night, can i find some place to stay or should I come farther towards orlando. I live in Tennessee near Kingsport/Bristol area and would be going I26 to 195 way

LOL..I know the feeling about money...We got a call last week sometime from my sister in law and brother asking.."Hey do you wanna go to Disney World with us in October" I said "OH YES" Then they said it was going to be for a WHOLE week then they really had me hooked. SO since I live with my mom and younger brother we asked if they wanted to go too. We knew my mom would be worried about money but I talked to her and told her "Mom, we can do it this is Disney World, we gotta do it" So she agreed and the excitement level hasn't let down yet. We have been on here everyday and doing something that has to do with planning. Then we are figuring out a payment plan for the whole package since we booked through Disneyworld.com and how to have spending money too..So my mom told my younger brother that he has to deal with it that we are saving money so all this litle stuff he finds essential might be put off til after vacation...We both plan on taking at least 1000 dollars for spending money if not more. But, we have the dining plan so most food is already paid for. So that leaves me at spending 125 dollars a day, which I kind of doubt I will do because we plan on buying a lot of "Disney" stuff before we get there.
Thank you very much for stopping by my pre trip report..I will be checking up on you daily now too!!
Now that I am done rambling I will let you be..lol..I tend to talk and talk and don't know when to stop...But stop by anytime to share your excitement!! :goodvibes

Putting bags together for the kids will be so much fun! There's tons of stuff to help you with that on the DISign board. I'm in the middle of printing out some of the activity sheets I found there to bring with us in the car.
You'll have to keep us posted on your sister's baby and whether or not they've decided to join you guys on your trip!

I know what you mean. I can;t wait to see the excitment through the eyes of my kids and my niece and Nephew. I know I am gonna cry, I am over emotional anyhow. Disney will do me in. You should watch some of the surprise we are going to disney videos on Youtube.. they are awesome. I wish I never would have told the kids so I could surprise them too but maybe next time
I have a new Nephew coming very soon but I am sad that they decided not to come on the trip cause I dont know when I will be able to see him, he will be about 7 months old at Thanksgiving unless my sister comes here this summer for a visit. They will miss out on so much fun

Been a bit since I updated so he goes..
I ordered and recieved my Tickets from UCT and they were really fast getting them to me. I love the pics on the tickets but wish my daughter could hve gotten the cinderella one but there was only one of them and it was an adult ticket so I snatched it up. We got 3 mickeys(2 differ. styles) 3 of the seven dwarfs(well 4 of them with grumpy in front) it says "where your name is always Happy" and the one with Cinderella and Prince.
I wonder can you write your names on the tickets so you know whos tickets they are?? Also Make a copy of your tickets when you get them. I made 2 copies plus they are in my computer too, better safe then sorry.
I still need to do a bunch of shopping for the trip, not a whole lot for me but the kids need new "crocs", my 17 yr old needs some new stuff but he refuses to wear crocs and like to wear his boots all the time .. I dont see how that is gonna fly in 90 degree temps, he will suffer with his new sneaks i bought him months ago but he hasn't worn but 1 time to church(feel my frustration..lol)
I still dont have a backpack to bring, still wondering if a diaperbag/messenger style would work since i am bringing a umbrella stroller for my 4 yr old..it has a basket in the bottom for storage too. I keep looking for something that will so over the chest at walmart, kmart or target but nothing so far. I guess I need to start going to the dreaded mall to look. Things are just vtoo expensive sometimes at the mall but Sears has girls bathing suits on sale this week and i got a coupon book in the mail so it gives me a reason to drive the 20 minutes to the mall and check things out.. any ideas on where to look?
Also looking for a good one night stay around WDW, we are gonna head down from TN on friday morning and check in at the villa is 4 so we need someplace to stay 2 rooms i guess, we will have 7 people in the van. I dont want to spend anymore than 80 a night total.
Good news also that our Tax rebate check is coming the first weekend of May so it gives me a buffer to be able to have more fun but i dont want to go too crazy. I am a very frugal person, i like to do things the cheaper way and save money where i can. I drive my hubby crazy with it I know but I dont see wasting money on stupid stuff he wants then saving for things we need or Christmas for this yr..
See last yr I wasn't sure we were gonna have a nice Christmas for the kids since I wasnt full at my daycare and losing out on over 500 a month in spots open. After Bills, food and gas we were left with like 40 bucks a week but Praying to god works and I filled up right before Christmas and was able to spend about 200 on each of my 3 kids and along with the Ruitan and family they had plenty. They knew before that since we were going on this trip this yr that they weren't getting anything big like wii's or game consoles, computers ect.. so thank god i have good kids who dont care about that stuff and were understanding. I want to get a Wii for the whole family this yr as a big gift we can share plus this will be the last Christmas with my son living here, He graduates next yr and will be moving to NY with my parents to help my dad run the landscaping business.
WOW this is turning into a book so I will close for today. Please Pimp this thread out for me.. I need more readers..lol

Definitely - each ticket will be biometrically "coded" to a particular person after you first use them, so you need to keep track of which ticket belongs to each person ... :wizard:
I dont see how that is gonna fly in 90 degree temps, he will suffer with his new sneaks i bought him months ago but he hasn't worn but 1 time to church(feel my frustration..lol)
Don't forget the band-aids for the blisters he is sure to get ... (or not - teach him a lesson ... :goodvibes )
I still dont have a backpack to bring ... any ideas on where to look?
I saw something in the L.L. Bean catalog a few months back that I want to check out again - kinda like a diaper bag and hopefully big enough to hold the videocamera, extra clothes, etc. ...
Good news also that our Tax rebate check is coming the first weekend of May.
I'm using part of ours to upgrade our AKL room to a Pool View (Savannah View still to pricey...) :simba:

... and I just realized I'm almost "done" with planning Day 4 ... and there's only a total of 8 days in the trip ... :sad2: (what will I do with myself after that??) ...
Oh Yeah!! - there's all those "Imagineering" books to read ...
And the planning "really" isn't done (even for Days 1-4) ... :rolleyes1
For example, I still have to book the flights - which I can't due until June when the airlines post them ...
And the WDW park hours won't be posted for December until June, too - so I may have to "massage" the intinerary ...
Whew - I was worried there for a second ...

well we found a hotel for the one nights stay when we get to Orlando. since there will be 7 of us at check in we found the Seralago hotel. We got the 2 room suite for just over 100 for the night.. still cheaper then 2 rooms. It has a beds in the bedroom and a murphy bed and sofa bed in the living room. It would be a nice room for someone staying all week cause it has a kitchen too but we just need it the night before check in at the villa.
We had tax free weekend here in Tennessee so I had everyone make a list of things they needed for the trip and off we went for a few hrs during our state park camping trip to go shopping. We hit Walmart,Kmart and Target so now we are all set with clothing and such. I found a cute knock off kids sketcher type.. i call it a cross the foot wrap croc if you know what i mean in pink for my DD she loves them, she is wearing them to school to help break them in this week.My oldest and I went alone back to the store and I love shopping for him, he run and just throws what he needs in the buggy and we are out of there in 5 minutes.. gotta love a boy who hates to shop..lol Oh by the way he turned 18.. yes I said 18 this past Friday the 25th.. My son is now a man I am so sad.
I also bought canvas bags and need to get one of the lovely ladies to make the kids names so I can put them on their bags. Which design do you ladies and guys like for the bags?? this style http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23312336&postcount=653
or these styles
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23312670&postcount=655
girls would do either HMS or HM or princess and the boys Cars and Mickey mouse
I am torn on what would look the best. The ears would take up more room and stand out more but the names they could use with their characters.
I will take pics when I am done and with what I am gonna put into them to give the kids there. I know my kids and my niece and nephew will love them anyway i do them.

Ok now I am down to single digits and next week I will get things packed and ready.. I can't wait.
We are now having problem with my sister who isn;t going. She now decided that she wasn't gonna watch my mom s dog and stay at my moms house cause she can't leave the baby alone in the house to take the dog outside the door to go to the bathroom. Guys he is not even 2 months old.. where is he gonna go? You put him in a seat or swing and he will be there when you get back. Am I a bad mom to leave my kids in the house while i get the mail or take the dog out? Lordy.
Also my dad needs to be at the airport at 6am for his 7:15 flight, she wont take him either.. doesn;t want to get her kids up.. Hello we have teenage family members who would stay overnight so she could run him there and she could easily take the baby as you know how newborns sleep. She is just being really selfish right now.
My sister Karen is either gonna pay for a cab to bring him to the airport(23.00) or pay for dads truck to stay there the week(32.00) My dads b-day was yesterday and he got really disappointed as we found this out yesterday also. One plus is me and Karen got my dad a MP3 player for his b-day. He does landscaping and found him one with a armband, fm radio, pedometer and stopwatch.. looks like we are the good daughters now..lol
I finished the bags i made for each of the kids I will post a picture of them later today

We were gonna have to pay about 120 at the Hotel so for 80 bucks more I would rather sleep in the 7 bedroom house with our own pool and game room and not be hurried around to leave by 11 and have to pay for a expensive b-fast. We are gonna go to walmart and get stuff for the morning then when my sister gets there later on Sat we will leave the kids with the guys while they swim and us girls will go grocery shopping.

I am here.
I can start with a traveling TR but no pics to show yet
left the house about 5:30 and stopped to get b-fast only 10 minutes down the road.
I tried to sit in the back seat of my moms van to watch tv and such but that lasted a whole 2 1/2 hrs before I got car sick so I spent the rest of the trip in the passenger seat but heck mom and My dh took care of the kids needs to I had a great relaxing ride down.. did i say it was long....it was suppose to be about 11 hr but turned into about 12 1/2. and that wasn;t for the kids either. I brought the porta potty from the camper for the 4 & 6 yr olds since my 4 yr old still has some accidents. It was from the smokers and potty breaks for the adults..lol
got here the house was awesome!!!! oh wait I can post some house pics. I will post them in the next post. We hit dinner at KFC at 8 and went to walmart and to bed around 10:30. The kids went down like a rock being that the 4 yr old was up since 5 am with no naps.(he was too excited to sleep) like the kid in the commercial says. The king size bed was awesome!!! I see a new bed in our future.. we have a queen and I am always pushing his leg away from mine so I can sleep.
