We are going in a few weeks so I know what u r going through1 I just can't wait to go!!!! I have been watching every free video we got through the post on US parks and reading loads of books. I have also done a plan which is a good idea, just stating what parks we are going to everyday.
Hope this helps and have a great trip!!

We are leaving on Saturday March 16th, so you can just imagine how my mine is racing. This is my 11th trip so Im not new at this. Everyday I check the weather for the forcast and make my 7 yr old son come and look at it too. Hes probably not nearly as excited as me LOL. Have to refrain from talking it about with my 2 1/2 yr old daughter(I mean talking about the whole Disney trip)because when I talk about she thinks we are going on the plane that day LOL.
Ive got all my stuff ready to put in the suitecase, everything is just in nice little stacks and piles in the spare room next to the suitecase. I have the carry on bag ready filled with little suprises for the kids for the plane ride. Ive been filling things in in my Passporter, in pencil, because I know how things change. And, Ive made a mental list of housecleaning stuff to do each day. I hate cleaningLOL, so Im working on one room a day...This excitement of this upcoming trip is just too exciting.:p

We don't leave until June 1 and I already am going nuts! I can't think of anything else. I took my boys shopping for new vacation clothes this past week-end. I'm trying to wait until closer to time to buy things for me and DH. I keep going over our schedule and reading these boards constantly! I'm bouncing off the walls! LOL :bounce: :pinkbounc

We aren't going to be at WDW until April 20th. What are we doing? PLANNING. Each and every single spare moment is spent planning... and then replanning. What do we do as soon as we get back from WDW? We PLAN. Oy. This is such a terrible sickness.

You asked for things to keep you busy till you leave. One thing I do is prepare my "mouse keeping" envelopes in advance. I decorate them with leftover stickers and diecuts from my scrapbooking projects, and date them for each day that I'm there. It gives me something to do with all my Disney energy!!!
(I'm not trying to tell you to tip, I'm just saying if you usually do ....)

Jackie824 - I had the same problem with my son last year... he was three and didn't understand that we weren't leaving ASAP for WDW. :) He also drove us crazy by asking, "When are we leaving for Disney??" I read somewhere about making a paper countdown chain, so we tried that and it worked GREAT! I used bright colors, cut out strips of paper and wrote the date and how many days to go on each one, then linked them together. Every day, he ripped that day's link off the chain. It worked well because it allowed him to visualize the time... the shorter the chain got, the closer we were to the trip.
Our next trip is in May and we've already started our chain. Today's link reads, "Wednesday - March 13th - 51 days to go!!" :)

That's a GREAT idea!! My ds is 9.. but he and I go a little nuts together. I think we'll make a chain tonight... and I'll write little things on it. As we get nearer to the date.. I'll add some *to do* things too.
Thanks,
Sandie :)

I've also read on these boards, about counting down the "big" days ie 30 day mark, 7 day mark by making mickey icon cookies, having a mickey breakfast with mickey head pancakes etc. I like the chain idea also.

I'm doing the paper chain thing with my kids. I told them it was for them but actually it's more for me. 83 more long, lonely days. They're not nearly as excited as I am. How will I possibly wait that long?
Sandiebean

We made our chain tonight. We wrote things on it like "10 days to go! Time to pack that suitcase!" Or "21 days to go... Do you have everything you need?" It's hanging on a hook in the corner of our living room. It's a conversation piece alright. :) It starts at 35 more days to go.. and that's 35 days too long for me. :smooth:

Hellokitty, I bet you're counting the hours now! Be sure and let us know all about your trip so that we can all live vicariously through you! Hope you have a great time! :bounce:

Only a couple of weeks left - she's all packed (3 tubes of toothpaste)
and ready to go. It's so wonderful to see her so excited - and she
is VERY engaged in the planning!!

Ballybunion3 ... that's my son too. He's 9. We've done the chain link (only 35 days to go)... and we have several duotangs on the go.. with plans on how to do MK, AK, Epcot, MGM, the Cruise... etc. He plans plans and plans. It's all he wants to do. It's March break here in Ontario.. and we've done little else. :p

Glad I read this post. Like the chain idea but it would be mostly for me!:o
Anyway, I've been reading these boards as much as possible, going to work at night (that eats up a lot of worry time), and spending money getting ready for the trip. I bought my two DS's waist packs and was surprised at how much they love them! They are using them everytime they go somewhere. I got four "vacation" looking shirts - you know, as Hawaiian as I could get - for our O'Hana's dinner. Also ordered the 2002 passporter and bought two more Disney travel books. Biggest and best purchase - our park hopper passes! Now that was exciting. Next will be cleaning and packing. Maybe I can stay busy til May 24th!:bounce:

We use the chain count down too. It gets everyone motivated to pack early.
I always clean my oven, wipe out the refrigerator, since it is nearly empty of food, and wrap all the spare change in the house and take it to the bank.
I check out the 10 day forecast at home and Orlando to compare. :D :D :D :D

What do I do before the trip?
Paint the ENTIRE interior of our house!!
It certainly uses up that excess energy that we all have.
A little over a week left - 2 more rooms. AAAAARRRGGHHHH
Doh!

Okay...who thinks it would be silly to start a chain now when we don't leave until October 5? lol
My 4 1/2 year old mentioned making one to me a few weeks back, but I am seriously thinking about it now, I am just TOOOOO excited about this trip (First one for us all, except DH who went when he was a child).

I think it would be hysterical! Drape it in their playroom or something. I say go for it. One man's *silly*.. is another man's rule. :D

:smooth: We leave April 2nd on a not too looong drive from Wi. I don't mind the drive, as we can see the countryside. This is our very first Disney trip. CBR. Love the DIS Boards and all the posts. Thanks much everyone.

you could make a chain for the weeks instead of the days, rip one off every week, once a week until it gets to about 30 days out, then switch to days.
