More camera advice needed

I need to purchase a digital camera for my DD - it will need to be easy to use, low shutter lag and good quality photos yet not so expensive that I will freak out when she loses it on it's first outing! Something about the £50 would be great.

To be honest I don't know alot about point and shoot cameras, you will get a good answer on the photography board as there are alot of professional photographers on there.

have a look at the fuji A820 or above, they are good little cameras and take a great picture!
