I need some serious help and I'm hoping someone has a kind enough heart to reply...

A friend and I are going down to Disneyland for our 6th year in a row and this time we thought we'd try spending a day in LA. I've read that there is a bus you can schedule to pick you up at the Disneyland hotel and drop you off at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel for $40.00 round trip.

We bought tickets to see Wicked on May 20th without realizing it was a 3 hour show that doesn't start until 8 or 8:30pm and now we are worried about finding a way back to Anaheim so late at night. We are both from a small town and quite frankly, rather afraid of the idea of being alone in downtown LA at after 11 in the evening. PLEASE HELP! Ticketmaster will not let us exchange our tickets for another date to do a matinee and the bus service I found does not offer busses after 6pm.

Is there another way you would suggest we go about this? How much would a cab be approx? Is it safe to be trying to flag one down so late at night in LA by ourselves?

I appreciate any advice you can offer VERY MUCH!!!

MUCH thanks,
Ashley

A cab is gonna be very, very expensive since it's about a 27 mile drive from LA to Anaheim. Are gonna be renting a car while in So Cal? If so it's not really hard to drive from LA to Anaheim. That's all you gotta do is get the 101 to the 5 and your all set.

eck, that sucks, i'm guessing it's either pay the big $$$ for the taxi or sell your tickets on ebay or something.

I don't know about the rates in So Cal, but I know if you were going that distance here in Las Vegas it's gonna be pretty expensive. You can probably check rates somewhere online for a local taxicab company in Los Angeles.

I'm not sure if you can do this in the States, but in Canada you can get an Airporter Shuttle from most hotels for a small cost and then try to get the Disney shuttle from the airport back to Anaheim - could be alot cheaper than a taxi. Good luck!

Get on the subway at Hollywood & Highland station, take it to Union Station. Transfer to the 12.40AM Amtrak train to Oceanside. Get off at Fullerton. There you can pick up the Orange County Route 43 bus, which goes to Anaheim/Disneyland area and runs 24 hours.

It will cost about $12 and take roughly 3 hours.

Other than that, taking a cab would easily be in the $125-$150 range. You could probably hire a Town Car for around $100-$110+tip.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I can't offer much advice on transportation, unfortunately. Everytime I've gone I've had a car and just drove where I needed to go.

What I can say is that you need to try Ticketmaster again. They can and do change tickets all the time. It's just not something that they advertise. It often depends on the agent you get on the phone. I work for an agency that uses Ticketmaster (so I use the system myself too) and see it done on a regular basis. You just need to get the right person on the phone. So try and call and explain your situation.. that you won't have transportation, etc. If they are unwilling to help, ask for a manager. If they won't, hang up and try in another day. Their phone bank people switch constantly so you're very unlikely to get the same people twice. I think if you're persistant you'll be able to get it switched.

Another thought- try calling the theatre directly. Sometimes they'll change it too.

Good luck! I hope it all works out for you.

Oh man....this was a couple years ago....it was a private guy that runs out of anaheim - I have his card somewhere......I will look. His name was Bill - and it was Bill ______ Transportation. He charged 70, and I gave him 80. He was really nice and a very safe driver.....
When we used him, he was recommended by a hotel to us - so maybe call a couple of the bigger hotels and say you are staying there in May and need a towncar recommendation and do they know a guy named Bill?
The one we stayed at was the four points sheraton fullerton, which is now the Crowne Plaza Fullerton - so maybe call them. Say you used him a couple of years ago and you are trying to track him down!
Other than that....just google towncar service anaheim and get quotes!
