Disney really! After a family tragedy I was unable to go to Disney for several years, and so when I got married last year all I wanted to do for my honeymoon is go to Disney World...so we went and had a WONDERFUL time. It reminded me of how much I love Disney!
Now for the past year I have been dying to go back, and this December I will finally be finishing my degree, so my husband said that I should tell him where I want to go to celebrate my accomplishment (as well as our 2nd wedding anniversary). Well, all of my friends and family are saying I should go to Europe or Hawaii, but for some reason Disney sounds better than all of that to me!!! I can't make anyone understand...if anything they are making me feel terrible for not wanting to branch out more. They all think I am way to Disney obsessed! :sad1:
Does this happen to anyone else? Am I crazy? Should I try not go to Dsieny again and try something new? :confused3

Personally, I would choose London, but I'm not the one making the choice.
If Disney is what would make you happiest, then go to Disney.

I would say Disney is where the magic is and it makes me happy and forget about everything when I am the MK.

Do what your heart tells you. If you want to go to Disney, tell your hubby, and anyone else be darned. It's your life, not theirs.

I know exactly how you feel ... we went to Disney on our honeymoon (16 years ago :) ), and since then, the only vacations we have taken have been right back to Disney :goodvibes ... a lot of our family and friends have also told us we should try somewhere else, but in the end, we knew that Disney was the ideal vacation for us :lovestruc ... ironically, over the years, we have turned a lot of our family and friends into Disney vacation fans too :) ...
However, surprisingly, this year, I have decided that we probably won't be going to Disney because I'm a little upset :sad1: that we have never received a discount pin code from Disney, so unless we do, we'll be going to Vegas instead :goodvibes ...

No, you're NOT crazy. Go where it makes you happy!!!
I dream of going to Hawaii someday, but for now, I'd pick Disney twice a year!
You'll have a GREAT time!

I absolutely am Disney obsessed too! I have no desire to travel anywhere else. I prefer to give my vacation money to the mouse. If disney is what makes you happy than go there. You work hard and save all year for a vacation. You may as well go to a place you love and enjoy. Do they have funnel cakes and Lapu Lapu's in London?
Have a great time, wherever you choose.:wizard:

Do what your heart tells you. If you want to go to Disney, tell your hubby, and anyone else be darned. It's your life, not theirs.
We're alot older and our heart has led us to Disney 40 times, throw in a couple of trips to Myrtle Beach and the heart still remains in WDW. Others have questioned our sanity, they have done a trip to WDW but never experienced like we do. We stay 8-12 nights, never rush or go commando, enjoy the resort and grounds and truly relax and let all the tensions of life and job be swept away by the mouse and his system of not needing anything while in his care. We have no transportation worries, food choices out the wazoo, 4 theme parks, water parks, parades, fireworks, the list is endless.
Friends and relatives say, try Vegas, why ? We do not gamble, no theme parks and you have to pay or rent a car to move around, same goes for most vacation spots. Years ago before Disney was built, we do the vacation journeys and once at the destination we would have to look at brochures to see whats in the area, find out the cost, drive there, find someplace to eat and drive back to the motel, really not exciting day after day. Then Disney was built, everything on property needed, prices affordable, food and all inclusive at your finger tips. Only thing comparable to WDW is a Disney cruise.
Nope, for our time and dollar, bottom line, Disneyworld a-one vacation spot.

I love this idea! If I could go anywhere, this is probably what I would do. But that's just me.
What about Adventures by Disney? Some of their trips end with DL or WDW or one of the other parks in Europe or Asia.
Whatever you decide, have fun and don't worry about those who are not as enlightened by the magic!:wizard:

I too love disney and if someone asked me right now where I would want to go I know better place then to see Mickey Mouse.. Well that is what I thought. I turn 30 in 2010 and wanted to do a very special trip but since I love disney I really wanted something differentonce in a life time but with a Disney twist. Ever since I was little I wanted to go to Italy. So I decided that I would go and after looking and everything just wasn't sure. UNTIL I research Disneyland Paris.. What fun. I have been to both US parks why not make a magical trip even more magical with stop in to Mickey and the the amazinf sites of Paris in one day. So that is the plan.. I would just follow your heart and do what you want to do but research and see what option fits you best.. There are other parts to disney that are fun..

I kept listening to people tell me that my hubbya nd I needed to see the world and go somehwere else. So I booked a trip to Rome, in March- where it proceeded to snow for three straight days in a freakish storm. My hubby turned to me and said- " We can either go home, or hop on a plane to Disneyland Paris!' Guess which we picked! So the moral of the story- go where you like and frankly we now almost exclusively go to Disney world- ahve a great time and come home happy!
Dineyland Paris was awesome BTW!

I was told by my MIL that I should go to WDW for my honeymoon and I chose not to (I have been married for 11 years) and went to Haiwaii. The following year we went to WDW for our anniversary and it was the best time. Of course I would have loved to go to WDW for our honeymoon but I chose somewhere I would never go again. We go to WDW every 5 years and next year is our year. I would go to WDW every year but DH says no. I told him that when I go back to work I'm buying into DVC so then I can go every year, he just shakes his head. I say go where you want to go, don't worry about everyone else. They should see these boards if they think your obsessed, aren't we all, :woohoo: and I wouldn't change it in a minute.

Thanks you all so much for honesty! I haven given it a lot of thought and my husband and I are going to do what we want, and for us that is Disney! I do want to travel and see the world...but right now I want to give my time to the mouse! It is so great to be able to come to these boards and know that there are people as "obsessed" as me!!! :cheer2:
Oh and I do love love love the Disneyland Paris idea! I never thought about that! That will be put on my list of places to go see. :thumbsup2

It's good we're all different. London no way!!!!! But then I was born and bred in London and would not give you a thank you for it. I guess it's interesting with all it's historic importance and tradition (and by the way is completely different from the UK pavillion in World showcase!!!) but not a place for a magical holiday for me. Paris is marginally better but again I have visited many times. I would love to see more of the USA and would like to visit the places where you guys are from. Seems to me, the one place we all agree we can have a great holiday (or vacation) is WDW!!!!!

I say GO TO DISNEY!! Our situation is so that while our children are young and not yet into that "we hate our parents" stage we will continue to go to Disney World or a Disney resort. :cool1: :cool1:
Our plans for the future include a 6 week trip to London, Paris and Rome, hopefully within the next 10-15 years. This is the dream trip for my wife and I, but until then, it's Disney all the way!

I'd do this as well. London is wonderful, Paris is...well, it's PARIS, for cryin' out loud, and Disneyland Paris is a great way to spend a day. i honestly don't think I could spend more than one day there, but it has been a while since we've gone. Maybe there's more to it now. :confused3
But hey, it's your trip not ours! Do what makes you happy! :yay:

We too had a decision to make about our vacation planning. My DH is turning 60 this May. We have a very good friend who lives in Hawaii. My DH has been to Hawaii twice. I asked him last spring "So honey, what would you like to do to celebrate your 60th birthday, go visit your friend in Honolulu?" He pondered the question and replied, "No I would prefer to go see The Mouse!" We arrive at WDW April 30th. Need I say more. We both love, love, love Disney! pixiedust:

you are NOT crazy. I am a bona fide Disney nut and I finally figured out why. I am so serious everyday just trying to get everything done, but when I go to Disney I turn into a little kid and forget all about reality. I'd go any chance I got and who cares what anyone else thinks!!

I too hear all of the "you're going there, again?" stuff. But given the choice between laying on a Mexican beach all day drinking those nasty watered down drinks or playing in the mouse's house, I'd much rather pick Mickey, IMOH.
