Hi All,

Just wondering if any of you would like to share details of what camera you own and if you would recommend it?

I am looking to buy a second camera. I currently have a MJU 725 SW which is shock proof and waterproof and I can take it everywhere without worrying about breaking it - which is great as I'm quite clumsy! However, I am enjoying this photography lark and would also like a camera that gives me a bit more manual control. I don't want a DSLR but a step up from my point and shoot would be nice.

SO - I'm looking at around the £200 mark. Am considering an Olympus SP-560 or maybe a Fuji S5700 which is even cheaper. I big requirement is to take XD cards as I don't want to start on a new format. I could be talked around for the right camera though!

Anyone want to help me choose?

I've got a Canon S3 IS which sounds about right for you. There's a thread on the photography board which I've linked below for you for this camera. You should be able to pick one up for around the £200 mark if you shop around.

Thanks Graeme - I have been spending quite a lot of time lurking on the photography board and it was that thread that really inspired me to start looking for a new camera :thumbsup2

The only thing that puts me off the Canon is the memory type - and I also havn't managed to find one in my price bracket. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places :confused3

Another one in the Canon camp!

Me and DBF have the IXUS 75 and it's an awesome little camera - produces fantastic photos and small enough to pop in your pocket... perfect for us!

That's around £150 I think - we had an IXUS 40 before that and just 'upgraded'

The SD cards are dirt cheap at My Memory, and look online for a camera. They're usually a lot cheaper than High Street shops. Google shopping turns up quite a few.

Got DP a 2Gb SD card from play.com for £6.99 delivered.
Goes perfect with the Ricoh Caplio R6 that we recently purchased to replace a trust worthly, but sadly dead Olympus Zoom50 :)
The Ricoh has the equivalent of a 28 - 200mm zoom in film camera terms :thumbsup2

I actually bought our camera from Play.com!

If anyone you know has a Varsity (student pub chain) card, you get 5% off... not much, but every little helps!

I would love an SLR, but I love the convenience of popping a camera in my pocket... PLUS the fact I haven't got that much to spend on a camera, PLUS I probably wouldn't know how to use it properly... I just love taking photos, but don't know the ins and outs. The Ixus is perfect if you're like me. Top quality, without actually being an SLR :teeth:
