Hi everyone!

I'm currently planning our next trip to Disney World. We're waiting until November of 2009 as this will be our 5 year wedding anniversary. In 2009 our anniversary falls on Thanksgiving Day. We plan to be in one of the parks this day, and were just wondering does anything special go on for Thanksgiving? Will we find a restaurant that offers a "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner? It's not a problem if we don't, I'm just curious.

Thanks all!
Meg

Most of the restaurants will serve a tradional Thanksgiving meal. Make sure to make your ADRs at the 180 day mark if you really have your heart set on a particular spot to eat. We personally have never seen anything "special" going on in the parks for Thanksgiving and MK has been very busy the last two years we were there.

WELCOME :thumbsup2

For what we had read we figured the parks would be very crowded thanksgiving day so when we visited in 2006 we spend our day at wdw doing some not so traditional things; two of us golfing, one volunteered to work and one spent the morning at the spa (me :goodvibes )then afternoon shopping, one sleeping in (arrived late from AZ the nite before) then shopping with mom.

We all met back at the resort around 4pm and that evening we headed to MK for dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern which serves a family style thanksgiving meal with charactors.

If you dont expect to go on many rides and are prepared for crowds, just enjoy dinner and the evening entertainment you should have a very nice thanksgiving.

As stated in an earlier post - call at the 180 day window to reserve a dinner slot.

We went this past Thanksgiving....If you are not interested in the traditional Thanksgiving meal, go to AK on Thanksgiving Day--we did and had a blast. We rode several of the big rides over 3 times. It was a great day to be at AK!

:woohoo: WELCOME
