I'm pretty new to the boards. I just returned using rented points I loved both dvc resorts we stayed in. After December 2008 when I graduate from college I would love to invest in DVC. My question is can you rent points for a 3 day disney cruise to the bahamas. I'm looking at October 2 , 2008 for myself and my daughter. If you can how many points am I looking at?

You can rent points to take a cruise on DCL. However, it will almost surely be a better deal (money wise) to go through a TA or DCL direct and pay cash.

For the 3-night cruise to the Bahamas on 10/2/2008, the points range from 67 per person (cat 11) to 166 per person (cat 4). The first two people in a cabin pay the adult price, so there is no discount for your daughter, even if she is a child.

In general, it is almost always NOT a good deal to rent points fror anything other than a DVC resort. It is often not a good deal to rent points for a Friday or Saturday night. You can do better booking through CRO/WDWTC, especially if you can snag any kind of a discount.
