I cheated. The "real" way to take a shot like that is to use a slow shutter speed and track the object you are shooting with the camera. Some Canon lenses (including the one I used) even have a panning mode where they stabilize the image except in the direction that you are panning. Sadly, I've never been able track well enough to pull it off.

My cheating solution was to take a relatively high shutter speed shot. That left me with an OK shot of a car frozen in mid air between the ramps. I then copied the car to another layer and added a motion blur to the background. To give it a bit more realism, I also cut out each wheel, applied a radial blur to it, and pasted it back on.

Over the holiday weekend we will be upgrading the boards to the latest version of the VBulletin software. This upgrade will involve major downtime for the boards. I will be bringing them down around 5pm on Friday and it will take 24 to 48 hours to upgrade them.
The new VBulletin has a host of exciting new features, this should really make the boards a better place for all of us.

Guess who?? It's me...well, it's us. I started reading through the pages of this thread that I missed and saw that people were actually asking about us. And them I got an email asking the same thing. It's pretty sweet of yawl to actually care enuff.

We're still here. After our trip, finding out that we think PF is pregnant, getting caught up at work, me getting sick, me getting better, me getting sick again, christmas, the stress of actually getting into the doctor to give the official word that PF is, in fact pregnant; we have just been swamped and havent really had the time to be posting. I know I owe you all lots of pictures and still owe you at least some facsimile of a trip report. I now feel like I let you all down. I really didn't think many people were that interested. Give us till the day after christmas, thats the day we finally snagged a doctors appointment. after that and x-mas being done we should be back in the full swing of things.

It's great to hear from you guys! I'm still fairly new to the boards but I absolutely love your posts and pictures! Keep up the great work and have a great Christmas! I'm still hoping to get some snow here before Monday but it isn't looking good.

BTW, I just recently got a camcorder and I was if you could fill me in on the best method of switching between the still camera and the camcorder while in the parks. Just the thought of it sounds like a lot of work.

Guess who?? It's me...well, it's us. I started reading through the pages of this thread that I missed and saw that people were actually asking about us. And them I got an email asking the same thing. It's pretty sweet of yawl to actually care enuff.

We're still here. After our trip, finding out that we think PF is pregnant, getting caught up at work, me getting sick, me getting better, me getting sick again, christmas, the stress of actually getting into the doctor to give the official word that PF is, in fact pregnant; we have just been swamped and havent really had the time to be posting. I know I owe you all lots of pictures and still owe you at least some facsimile of a trip report. I now feel like I let you all down. I really didn't think many people were that interested. Give us till the day after christmas, thats the day we finally snagged a doctors appointment. after that and x-mas being done we should be back in the full swing of things.

We just returned from our first Christmas trip on 12/6/06, but now we were wondering, how are the crowds the week or two before thanksgiving. I know this has probably been asked a million times, but any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Are the decorations up at that time? Also, would you be more likely to enjoy the pools since the weather may not be iffy?

We were there early for a Crystal Palace ADR. It was about 8 am, and the park opened at 9 that day. It was fun to get some pics without the crowds. We only saw a few people heading toward CRT, a few to CP, and a few tours.

..this pic is so "UN-Disney"-like...it looks as though it was taken in on a farm or in the country(it's very picturesque)......all-in-all, a very nice pic, tho'....:)

I don't really remember exactly- I did it a week or so ago. I know I cloned out the walkway in front. I think I blended a sepia image with the original to get a somewhat desaturated look. Then I used a soft omni to render the lighting effects. And I think I added the etherial glow last.

The answer to that question is apparently yes. I took that picture while we were eating lunch at Sci-fi in Nov. At the time we happened to be talking about the off chance that PF might be pregnant......

Well...now it's official!!!

PF is, in fact, pregnant; or having my demon spawn as she puts it. We finally got into the doctor the day after Christmas and found out that she is actually a little farther along than we had thought. PF and I were thinking that she was 8 or 9 weeks along; but the Dr. said it was more like 10 or 11 weeks. They've put the tentative due date at around July 15th, 2007. We will have a more concrete(is anything concrete about pregnancy? lol) date next Wednesday after we go in for her first ultrasound.

Did I mention that we are ecstatic?? We've gone from being the childless, tattooed, freeky, married for 14 years, sort of anti-kid couple to giddy as all get-out about having a little freak of our own.

Did I also mention that our parents are completely blown away at the prospect of having a Grand-kid? Well, they are! Have I ever related to you all that PF and I are both only children? We were/are the only hope for our parental units to be grandparents. They had given up on us. Really...they had...my Mom even told me so. She had given up so much that she absolutely refused to believe that PF was pregnant until we went to the Doctor. Seriously. She was so adamant that I took this picture for her while were were dining at Sci-fi as well.

Wanna hear something really funny. The other day when we were at the Dr.; they asked if we wanted to hear the baby's heartbeat? What? You're friggin' kidding me? It's got a heartbeat already? I had to be picked up off the floor. Not really. But almost. When the nurse finally found the heartbeat and I heard that little thing going 90 miles to nothing; I completely burst out into tears. Do you have any idea what kind of a sight it is to see someone as big, tattooed and so-called tough looking as me crying? Well, lemme tellya. It ain't purty.

O.K. I just realized that I've been rambling on for ever. Sorry bout that! I'm sure nobody is even reading this still. But that's O.K. I needed to get all of that off my chest.

Next Wednesday I am going to have a very special PotD for you all. Can you guess what it is???

I know what you mean... just wait 'til you actually see the baby for the first time and know that you're officially a "daddy". It truly is a miracle and it is the most amazing thing you'll ever see. I never thought I'd say that... But when it happens, you just lose it (at least I did). That's when it really hits you and it really sets in. Your whole life changes. You start to realize that things are just that - things, and nothing is as important as the people you love. And come to realize that raising children is the most important thing you'll ever do in life... Really, words can't explain how it feels to be a father.

Aww shucks, Trashman, now I'm all sappy... must be the wine. I'm going to bed...

I'm glad you and PF are excited and I wish you the best with the new kid...

DizzKneeGeek and Princess Fontaine- There are LOTS of us reading and rejoicing with you...and hoping and praying for all of the best things for you and your little one. We're experiencing the joy of a little one teething right now, along with ear infection in both ears. You have so much pain, exhaustion, and JOY to look forward to!!! Those of us have have come to know you through your great pictures and your posts are wishing all of the best things for you as you go through these next few months and then on to this wonderful life-changing experience. Thanks for all your great pictures that help us enjoy Disney World as we wait for our own trips to come.

I'm so happy to hear that you are both fine, well, better than fine apparently. Having a baby - how wonderful!! Now for the name game. popcorn:: Oh, boy, can't wait for your TR and week by week updates of PF and the little Dizz. Poor PF, she'll have no privacy. Geez Trashman you made me cry at work. And it ain't purty on me either. ;) :yay: on the heartbeat too. Isn't it amazing??? I can't wait to see next Wednesday's picture.

OK maybe this weekend I can get my pictures downloaded to photobucket so I can finally share them. It's been a rough 6 weeks at my house (my DH (and I don't mean darling husband at this point) walked out on us in case you haven't read it elsewhere) and I think I'm finally getting the swing of this single parenting thing.

BTW...DW was checking out your pre-trip report and absolutely loved it! She thinks you're super cute and really loved the picture of "the boys" looking into the box! Those two little critters are tough to find up here in the Great White North but she's still searching!

Trashman and PF....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

DW and I have been talking about kids for a little while now and plans are almost in order to begin trying. Sorry....:offtopic: .....her latest reason for wanting kids is that she's bored at work. What a goofball eh? First things first....we need a house but a decent starter home here is worth $330,000!!! And that would be one hefty mortgage to carry on one income.

Anywho, enough about me...Congratulations again and enjoy every minute of the time you spend with each other!
