First post of a first time poster ...

I just gotta say thanx to everyone who has contributed to this thread ...

I have now wasted an entire weekend going through the 534 pages of this thread with my wife.

Now because of all the excellent pictures you have all taken and shared, I got nothing accomplished all weekend, have no wregistered for this board, and I have a bunch of ideas I wrote down for our planned trip to WDW in Oct/Nov.

Now if I want to contribute before we leave I'll have to break out the scanner ...

Thank you for your kind words. Much appreciated. This shot was taken early AM from one of the bridges from Discovery Island to the "mainland". I believe it is the one that leads from the rear of the old (and lamented) Tarzan Rocks theater toward the queue for Expedition Everest.

Can't wait to go back.

This thread is fantastic. My last trip to WDW was 2 years ago but I'm planning on getting married there next year. I truely can't wait and have so many ideas for photos after looking at this thread. I can't believe that after 7 trips there is so much I haven't noticed before. Thank you all so much for taking the time to post.
I don't have any digital pics but when I get my scanner hooked up I hope to be able to post some of my own personal favourites.

This thread and one on the dis Photography forum (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1144547&page=1&pp=15) were my inspiration for our early July trip. My family and friends all thought I was NUTSO for actually making up a list of things I wanted to photograph while there. I took the list, but did not actually remember to look at it until late in our stay. To my surprise, I'd gotten almost all of the shots I had intended to look for, plus some! Using the unlimited potential of digital (and a laptop to d/l to each day!), I was able to capture around 2000 pix, many of which you will find on these two threads. Mine are not as good as many of the others you will see here, but I was delighted with the results. IMO, you can stand at any spot in any of the four WDW theme parks, turn in any direction, and a great photo is just waiting to be taken. I had more fun with my camera than shows and rides! I *am* NUTSO!

I just got back from the Beach Club and here is a photo of me at Epcot when I was staying at the Beach Club :goodvibes I was having fun in the pool and I thought it would look cute if I walked over to Epcot in my swim clothes to get some photos with the characters :p :p

I'd love to work at Mickey's World, but this is one job I would NOT want, if the Tinkerbell that does the high-wire act is actually a live human bean! No thanks.

It's actually the complete opposite....there is a maximum weight requirement for the women who play this part. And yes, they get paid for an entire 8 hour shift for the 30 second flight!

Have you ever tried to capture a "still" by using the "Print Scrn" button on your keyboard and pasting it to "Microsoft Paint"? I've been able to get some pretty decsent photos that way from a video... I just start the video with my VLN media player and then pause it when I see a frame I like, and then capture that frame with print screen... It helps if the video is a fairly high resolution... Just a thought.

They said because of all the cropywright problems and fights between everyone with this film, they just destroyed Jessica... I would have paid a fortune for that $$$$$$$$$$$$ How great would that look on my roof!!!???!!! LOL :lmao:

Pleasure Island is undergoing some major renovations right now, and it's a mess. They have torn down a few buildings and are putting in a bridge from PI to the Westside. They are also putting in a boat dock for ferry service near the Rock and Roll Beach Club.

No phptps from me, but wanted to say I think Momsharks first photo is from the candy/fudge shop in MK? I do recall seeing many creations...or maybe it was MGM?
Awesome photos everyone...my DD is in the market for a new digital...but wants a point and shoot...however...she is fixated on YECKIM's parrot shot.. (she loves super close ups) but that camera is a bit more complicated...any suggestions ferom y'all? I will ask on the photographyy board as well.

I might suggest a Canon S2-IS, or the new model S3-IS. I have this camera, and it is a great P&S camera, but gives you the option to expand and be more "creative" and learn more about photography. I bought the camera after seeing many great photos on this board using the camera. It is priced at less than $300 (the S2-IS) I believe since the S3 was released a couple months ago. You might suggest she go "play" at Best Buy or a place like that to feel the cameras. I love the feel of this rather than some of the smaller rectangle shaped cameras. Those on the upside are great as they can fit in a pocket. She just needs to decide what is best for her wants/needs/uses. The camera has AMAZING zoom and a swivel LCD screen which comes in handy sometimes! If she finds something she likes, I would check out prices on line.

I think this is the first parade picture I've seen that wasn't taken on Main Street or the hub area. I always watch the parades from around the castle and it's really weird for me to see something other than the castle in the background.

Thanks! But it wasn't me that took that pic. :teeth: I quoted it so I could remark on the same thing as you did about the picture: you don't see many pictures of the parade from that area of the park. Most parade pictures shown are taken on main street - usually with the castle in the background.

To daannzzz (who did take the picture): I agree with firemanx - that is an awsome picture.

I generally watch SpectroMagic from Liberty Square and the daytime parade from where ever is easiest. This last trip I happened upon it in the location I took the photos from. I thought Splash Mountain would make a nice contrast for the backdrop. I took a few photos but only a couple came out decent. Here are the other two.

4th July - our first day and our first sight of the castle (always a "butterflies" moment) on our recent trip to the World. It was taken from the ferry dock which accounts for the lack of sharpness. It still captured the moment though.

Thanks!! We just happened to be outside Pecos Bill's when they started putting up the ropes. The rope and the railing formed a little "V" shape--no one could squeeze in front or in back!!

I know for sure my picture is in Morroco... but I don't know where Tinkerbellmom33's picture is from... Is there two of these fountains in Morroco? They are SO similar I would have to think they are both in Morroco... I just only remember seeing one for some reason.

that's a sausage tree in AK, senecabeach. There are 2 of these cool trees there (that I know of, there may be more). There's a little sitting area, in Harambe, behind where Baloo and King Louie do their meet and greet....one of the trees is back there (it's also a great place to get away from the crowd and sit for a while). The other tree is out on the main drag in Harambe...I think on a corner across the street from Tusker House.
