WOW! Great shot! Where was this taken from? I've never even noticed that the man on the "pole" is standing on some sort of animal which to me looks like a dinosaur! Does anyone know what it is? (I'm 100% Italian and have been to the real Venice, you would think I should know such things!)

You take some awesome fireworks shots! I've got a P&S Sony; is there any way that I can produce shots like yours? I'd just like to get decently clear fireworks shots, I'll be taking my gorillapod with me on our next trip in May so that should help but what about shutter speed, ISO and all of that other stuff?

I've been to Venice a few times. There are two of these large pillars as you enter St Mark's Square in Venice, I think this one in Epcot is a replica of one of the columns, someone correct me if I'm wrong!
They are seen as the gates to Venice. Supposedly, if you walk in between the two pillars, it is bad luck. I think it was also in between these two pillars that they used to execute people. I don't know what the dinosaur thing is! :confused3

Thanks a lot. I went back and looked at the exif data- most of them were taken with a 2 second exposure at f20. Not sure of the iso but I want to say maybe 800? You really need a tripod - mine were taken handheld kind of leaning against a post so only like 1 in 25 or 30 actually came out.

This is St George, one of the patron saints of Venice. He's standing on the dragon he killed. He's also in Germany at Epcot. There could be a likeness of him in the UK, too. He's a patron saint of those countries, too.

Thanks! We were sitting pretty much on top of the rope. We missed a few fireworks that were lower or more behind the castle, but it really was a great viewing spot.

His Epcot column looks just like the version at the entrance to St. Mark's Square. In both Epcot and Venice, the column is one of a pair. On top of the other is the winged lion, guardian of Venice.

We have a similar eye for things and many of the shots you have taken are the ones I would do as well. I promise not to do anything personal like your family (I was able to get plenty of those thank goodness) but I missed the decoration shots I wanted.

The Hollywood Tower Hotel looks as ominous from the back as it does from the front! Those imagineers never skimp on the details -- love all those little balconies, windows, and terraces. Great job, Joe!

Yes, I like them, but am not a huge fan. I love their version of 'Turn the page' though. I'm more of a Pink Floyd kinda girl. talk about a great concert :thumbsup2 DD on the other hand LOVES them. she came up with my username. never seen them in concert, but if they ever come to Birmingham I'll take her to their show in a heartbeat. heck if they ever come back to Atlanta we'll go see them!

Dear Clayton

I think this was her favorite place out of all of WDW..can't wait till she is a little older like the other 2

She is enjoying it, and she is adorable...take my advice, enjoy every moment of her life. My dd is 18 (still adorable), gone to out of town university, got boyfriend, piercing body parts...it's so stressful. I thought it was tough with the diaper bag and the snowsuits, and the daycare, and the sleeping in my bed. I still adore her, but sometimes I long for the old days, when the most I had to produce was an extra story or song at bedtime. I'll stop now, I'm getting all weepy.
