Won't be me....work doesn't allow us to have the internet at our desk and I don't think I can spend all morning/day in the resource centre....What do they think...we'd be on line ALL day?????? only on important days like 1,000 page and 15,000 post day!!!!

Linda, Thanksgiving is nuts. No matter how you look at it. It's up there with Christmas and New Years as some of the businest time of the year. If you can stay to the week after tho, it's some of the slowest time of the year. If you do tho, make sure you make your dining reservations early. Especially for Thanksgiving itself!

Congratulations Kelli :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Bob
Thanks, Bob! It was a lifetime of work and effort!! :rotfl2:
Actually, it may have been fate...I'm rarely up that late, but we were coming home from our latest cooking class at our (fairly) local Whole Foods store. I couldn't believe it when I got home from the cruise and got the June schedule. The last class of the month was called "Panamanian Pleasures"!!!
We had an AWESOME time, and the "instructor" was a gal in her early 20s here as a cultural exchange ambassador. I got a new recipe I plan to make for the 4th--Panamanian potato salad. It has beets in it, and I was really surprised how much I liked it! I'm only a pickled beets kinda gal, and not much of a potato person, but it was wonderful!
Gaby's first class went over SO well, that she's talking about doing at least another class. We suggested, and she jumped on, 2 ideas right away---desserts and breakfast, so I may have two additional Panamanian classes.
So, as I was saying, I got home from this AWEsome class, and poor Lynda was slaving away to get to page 1000, so I felt obligated to help!! :rotfl2:
Sorry for stealing your thunder, Lynda! :love2:

Have not posted in a while, but wanted to pass on this great deal to everyone. Michael's is running a special till Saturday on custom framing 40% off one item, 50% off two items and 70% off three items.
We went last night and had all the Disney stuff that we have wanted to frame done so we could get the 70% off. I think the most expensive item was like $110.00 for a huge cruise line poster, not bad compared to the normal prices.
Figured it was a great time to get all that Panama Canal stuff framed.
Hope everyone is well, figure we will see many of you on the DVC Cruise in September.

OK, who'd going to be opening their local Post Office in the morning?!?!?
>>Mickey Mouse, his dog Pluto, Snow White and other characters featured in popular Walt Disney films adorn a set of four postage stamps issued Thursday by the U.S. Postal Service.
The 37-cent "Art of Disney: Celebration" stamps were being issued in ceremonies in Anaheim, Calif. They go on sale nationwide on Friday.
It's the second set of Disney cartoon characters to be featured on postage stamps and follows stamps displaying other cartoons in recent years.
The four stamps show Mickey Mouse and Pluto enjoying a cake, Alice and the Mad Hatter at tea, Ariel and Flounder having fun with music and Snow White and Dopey dancing.
The post office said its relationship with Disney began in 1933 when Mickey Mouse played a mail pilot in a cartoon. Walt Disney himself was the subject of a stamp in 1968.
The stamps will be sold in sheets of 20 and the characters will also be featured on a series of 23-cent stamped postal cards.<<

I'll call you when we get back from the ship on 7/10. Hopefully we can meet up somewhere again. I'll try and get you an AC pin (if there are any) LOL - Dare I try and get one this time?? It might be easier than when we tried in May. I'll be prepared for another "sleep over".

Funny you are talking about stargazers. About 2 years ago I bought DH an awesome telescope. Big thing - Can't fully describe it, but it cost $650 with so many gadgets to it, it wasn't funny. On a stand about 5 foot in length. It sits in one of the sheds and never been used to its full extent. It has computer hook ups and all.
Crazy things we buy for our loved ones and never use - Ugh!!!!

Lynda, you might think about early Nov and catch the end of the wine and food festival, it is not very crowded then either, but the first 2 weeks of Dec are usually really mello, one of our favorite times.
We did enjoy the barbeque in SLC, and Linda did give me alot of good ideas on scrapbooking.

Just wanted to wish my fellow Canadians (hi Sharon & Jean-Marc :wave2: ) and all our honorary Canadians, a Happy Canada Day!!!!
I found out last night just how much I  the internet. Our internet service provider was experiencing "technical difficulties" which preveneted anyone from getting on the internet or accessing your email. I was about ready to do this :badpc: to my computer and of course you couldn't get through to the internet people to complain because they took the phone off the hook (probably tired of being yelled at). I missed all you guys yesterday.
Congratulations to Debbie for post 15,000 on page 1,000. You chose a great picture for that milestone!!!!!

I forgot last night, (imagine that), that I was going to respond to the John Walton (Wal Mart) question, yes, his ultra-light plane crashed just north of our airport. That actually put it into Grand Teton National Park, but we did get the original call of the crash in our dispatch office. His funeral was yesterday in town.
Today, I have only my normal 10 hour shift, and it is really my Friday. I have the weekend off, but have to work on Monday (an overtime shift). We are back to teaching Scuba classes, so this weekend will be spent gearing up for that. We might get out camping next weekend.

Hello all,
Real life has gotten the better of me- and has limited my time on the boards. I have been peeking at times (AKA lurking) but not posting. Hopefully that will all change. I have missed my online friends.
Thank you for those of you who have PMed me making sure I was alive.
Here are some answers to questions I have received:
Yes I am still in school. I spent all of last weekend in Chicago, doing a compression class. 23 hours of class over 3 days- man did my rear end hurt. (I also had back spasms- good thing I don't have a desk job) This quarter I am not studying death rates or Alaska- lucky for you. This quater I will be looking at legislation, the nursing shortage, and the role of the advance practice nurse. :teeth: Believe it or not- I actually like learning about this stuff. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I will be starting the new job- aka the neurosurgical intensive care unit job on July 18th. I am excited and scared- I don't know how I will feel seeing someone alive- with their brain exposed. :earseek: I'll let you know. However, I am ready for the challenge and look forward to learning many new things.
I have yet to scrapbook anything from the cruise- despite having adequate supplies but not adequate time. :earboy2: Maybe mid-July?
I have loved looking at everyone pictures. It is great to see the same vacation, for a different perspective. I hope to order prints from many different collections either this weekend or early next week. On that topic, I have a question regarding the mouseplanet site....
I have created a login- but it never lets me login. I can see a bunch of pictures that are under Tony's name. Is that the collection of everyones photos or just tony's? Maybe I need a new login?
HELP!
:listen:
OFF TOPIC-
On a different topic- in the time that it has taken me to type this note (roughly 3 minutes) over 60 people have died of poverty. Every 3 seconds someone dies of poverty- usually children. I would ask that our community looks at the http:www.one.org site. Please ask your government officials to follow through on the Millenium Goals previously set to reduce poverty in half - which will be reviewed at the upcoming G8 conference. This would be the Americans, Canadians, and British- with other member nations. The web site is NOT asking for your money.
Enough of that- just something I feel strongly about and wanted my DIS friends to know about.

My photos are publically visible, but to be able to see anyone else's photo albums you have to create an account (so that I can keep the riff raff out). If you are having trouble with your account, PM me and I'll see what I can do for you.

That's better than on da crutches!!! Haven't used them since last Sat. No pain pills since then either.....Sat was a baaaaaad day!! I'm going back to work Tues, with 4 weeks of light duty. My doc sure listens to me....light duty means "no climbing, no lifting >5 pounds, no kneeling or crawling". I'm sure my boss thought "Crawling?!?" I told the Doc I have to crawl under people's desks....
He says if I'm going to stick with Curves, he wasn't going to send me to P.T.
I still can't imagine having both knees done at the same time, but so far, I'm really impressed with the procedure. How many holes do you have? My coworker that had his done the 16th (mine was the 22nd) has 3 holes, but I've got 4.
My niece says I can have a smiley face if I connect the front dots.

Sam's Club is great.
We went to Costco today. Picture this:
I am in the electric chair - I have the grandbaby in a cart and I am pushing the basket and her in it with the electric chair. Very hilarious !!!!
I couldn't see anything in front of me and kept saying "excuse me". Didn't hit anyone, thank goodness. Needless to say, I won't take her next time I go. I'll get in and out much quicker. Worn out and tired when I finally got home with her.

Happy Canada Day!
I just got home an hour ago from DC--well actually Falls Church VA for a conference. We were told to get to Dulles early due to the holiday and the lines will be unbearable if we waited to long. So it took an hour to go 10 miles and then we waited at the airport for 4 hours because the lines were non-existent :rotfl:
THEN---- we boarded the plane... little commuter jet.... and they only had one air conditioner... did I mention it was 90 degrees!!!!! So it was HOT :sunny: then we had to wait 1 hour on the tarmac in the sun with no AC waiting for 30 peices of luggage!!!
We had no air until we got to 21,000 feet and it is such a short flight that it did not last long. And of course we had to circle 2 times before landing. We all just wanted OFF that plane!!
Ok, done ranting :rolleyes1 I need a shower.....

Hi Renee and Kay,
That is awesome....anyone else receive this? I hope my TA sends it on to me- sometimes I worry that items like this will not be sent.
Kay, it was good to talk to you today. Thank you for your help. I hope you have a great time on your cruise. I'm glad that you had a good time with your grandbaby. I'm glad you're feeling better.
Renee- I am hoping to set aside sometime to get together and scrapbook when I come down in October. I will be in a large condo so you can come over and we can do a packet Linda style. Maybe I'll design a Disney packet. Eric can talk shop with my father and brother- both successful businessmen and my brother who designs videogames for the X-box.
Anyone else in the area around October is welcome to come and scrap.
Linda- sent you funds today for the scrapbook items- thanks again. I wish I was in SL for the 4th and 24th. I hear Snowbird is closing this weekend- how crazy is that!
Everyone, have a safe and happy 4th- aren't we lucky to live in such a wonderful country!

The map and pin that Renae received is just like the postcard (map on it) and magnet that was sold in Treasure Ketch - except instead of a picture of the logo pin, it is the square pin. Have the magnet on my refrig and looked at it and realized it was the same.

Celeste,
You've got it, girl! A crop in October it is! I could design a layout too, and we could have a swap. Those are really fun!
Linda, I wish I could be in Salt Lake for the holidays too. I miss the fun we had on the 24th in Bountiful with the parade and little carnival at the park. They don't celebrate the 24th here at ALL! It's such a bummer...
It looks like Nick (my son, for those of you who didn't meet him at Scott's party) has a girlfriend, and we've invited her to BBQ on the 4th with us. Gotta meet this girl...
Happy Canada Day to you guys, Sorry it's a day late.
Happy 4th to us here in the states! We might go over to the Polynesian to watch MK fireworks if I can sit up that long... this is getting old really fast!

Laurie,
If you want to frame something with the pins on it, like this map, it's a good idea to put something really heavy behind it that will hold the weight of the pins and still let the 'pointy thingies' stick through it. then put it in a frame with a really thick mat and glass in front. That way the pins won't tear through the paper and fall forward. Anyway, that's what I'd do.
BTW, yes, we did get 2 maps with pins in them. And NO, they won't be on EBAY! Cool!

I came up with a great way to display the map and pins. I really didn't want to stick the pins in the map when I framed them so here is what I did.....
You will need a 11x14 shadow box (not the really deep ones - try Michaels with the 40% coupon!), an 11x14 mat with 8x10 opening, a transparency sheet, scrapbooking picture corners (I don't knwo the technical name) and thin strips of wood or plastic.
Lay the transparency sheet over the map and poke holes where the pins should go to line up with the map (this may take some time/practice to get everything even). Now take the transparency sheet and superglue to the back of the mat. Use "picture corners" to mount the map on the inside back of the shadow box. Then glue the thin strips of wood or plastic on the inside sides of the shadow box to center the mat so it rests in the middle of the shadow box.
I haven't done this with the Panama pins yet because I'm waiting for the free pin. I hope it comes today!! But I did do this with the set I bought from another pn cruise. I took a picture on an angle so you can see how the pins are actually in front of the map.

Kay,
That's a great idea! I love the shadowbox with the different layers. My pin came already stuck in the map, so I figured I'd leave it there. Oh well... I'm going to use your idea on some other stuff I need to frame, though...

Did anyone else order the Panama Canal gold charm?? I received the one I order in the mail yesterday and I am VERY disappointed!!! It is not the same charm that was on the ship. I bought the charm bracelet and all the ports of call charms on the ship, except the Panama Canal one because they were sold out. The charm they sent me has a different clasp (actually its' not a clasp so I'll have to take it to a jeweler to attach) and the back is blank. I looked at this charm the first day on the cruise but didn't purchase right away because of the price. I know that the one on the ship had the Disney Cruise Line log on the back (just like the other I have). I know this because I was going to buy one for my MIL who went through on a Princess Panama Canal cruise but then noticed it had the Disney logo on the back.
Does any one know where/what number to call to complain?? I doubt it will do any good! I'm so bummed!!

Hi Everyone...
I have spent the last two days running (figuratively not literally) around the greater Orlando area. I now have enough scrapbooking supplies to last me well into the next year.... unless of course I find something else cute. ;)
Elaine: Still in holding. I figure he's busy since the whacko sister and her creepy husband are there this weekend and staying with him. Why don't you go to WI and take Etta's pin....:rotfl: I'm sure they won't mind if you drop in for the 4th of July barbeque!
DD just called and said she stopped at the house today.. and there was a package there for me. Did the pin/map come UPS? In a box? :confused3 She put it in the house and didn't open it so now I have to wait until Tuesday!

Hi Ashley
Here in Canada, they mostly showed showed the Canadian concert, but last night they had a 5 hour Greatest Hits show of the concert which included most of the better known musical acts. For the most part, the concert was well done, but I thought it would have been done more like the Live Aid concert way back when with everyone seeing the same concert, whether it be live or on the video screen - not complete differnt concerts at every location and if you didn't live in that country, you hardley saw any performers. I really wanted to see some of the London and Philadephia performers (yeah Josh!!!!) and our Canadian TV station wasn't really showing them throughout the day...I guess that's why they did the Greatest Hits show. Since I'm a product of the 80's new wave music, I really enjoyed seeing some of the 80's bands like Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys and A-HA.

Wow, Dawn!!! I thought it was beautiful, but I never got to see the one on the ship! I was planning on putting it on a necklace, so the clasp didn't matter to me. Was the one on the ship $38 also? I seem to recall that was the price for this one. I'm kinda bummed now, too! The one you describe sounds even better!!
Kelli,
Yes, it is the $38 charm. The charm is beautiful, especially if you ar putting it on a necklace. But it was being sold as part of the charm bracelet set on the ship. I'm just bummed because now I have to go to the jeweler and pay more money for them to put the same clasp as the rest of the charms and this charm doesn't match the set as well as the one they had on the ship. I'm going to call Disney Merchandise on Tuesday and see what they say.
We got our pins!! Now I can frame the entire Panam Canal pin set! I am so glad I have a reason to put off doinng laundry today..lol

:badpc: Don't get me started on that. :badpc:
I decided that I would put up with MTV so I could see some of the "older" acts. I knew that PINK FLOYD would be on at 5 est, so I was ready. However, MTV in their teeny-bopper wisdom, decided to cut them off early, so their VJ's could drone on. ABC's 'best of' later on was not much better. :sad2:

Bob....How terrible...I would have thought every station showing the concert would have at least shown Pink Floyd...after all it was their first time performing together since the early 80's. Rumour has it that Bob Geldof called the guy from Pink Floyd and told him he needed to reunite a band for the concert and it was either going to be Pink Floyd or the Spice Girls and the guy from Pink Floyd said the world ddid not need a Spice Girls Reunion so he agreed to it.
The Canadian channel even showed them, in their entirety (I will admit...I didn't know who Pink Floyd was but after hearing some of the songs...I realized I knew who they were but I couldn't tell you any of their names)....I wish I could send you a tape but my second VCR died a couple of weeks ago. If I can locate a VCR to borrow...would you like me to tape the show we had here? Who were the "older acts" you were wanting to see??? I know Deep Purple performed here in Barrie (outside Toronto).

Pink Floyd were really good, also the WHO.
It brought back memories.I went to a free concert in London In 1969,in one of the other parks (Parliament Hill Fields )and Pink Floyd were on about 3am.Happy days of my youth.
Karen went to a free concert in Hyde Park in 1969 of the Rolling Stones.

I liked The Who yesterday! Those guys were great! And Stevie Wonder...brings back memories form junior high. Wish I had seen the condensed version....the "real" thing left a lot to be desired. I kept trying to figure out why, if they had 8 stages going, why did I have to see the same thing 3 times? And nothing from at least 5 stages. Only saw Philly, Tokyo, and London. I wasn't impressed with the production staff.

Peter: Love your cork board. That's awesome.
Hey Deb,What's up? Hi to you too Kelli. kind of strange being over here. It takes away the fun of being the cruise. I suspect that there will be a loss of followers. I am trying to follow, but am going on the vacation club cruise Sept 4-8. I am hoping to find out when the 2007 schedule is out and maybe plan a trip or three to various places such as, um , uh, maybe, EUROPE. Or. maybe, Uh, the MEDITERRANEAN. Possibly a chance of um, er, ah ALASKA. UM,,,,
COULD BE!!!!!!!!!!!! Mortgage rates are pretty good these days and I am not currently tapped out. Close, maybe, but not tapped.
I just bought insurance for the DVC cruise. No health insurance , just trip. Lots of sickness in my family. Could be a lot of people die soon. Cousins, grandmother. Uncle and Aunt. It is very depressing. If I am on the cruise, the only one that I would absolutely have to leave for would be the grandmother of Angela. There is no one else to make the arrangements. She is a wonderful woman, 99, and I will miss her greatly. I am thinking of taking her on a short cruise soon along with my uncle and his wife if I can manage to afford it.
Your turn.

Hi Tony,,,,,, Robin,,,,, MISS you , RobyRob. Oh, I forgot, that is a line from Bob and Tom on the radio, Q95, NEVERMIND(church lady). HI ROBIN!!!!!!
Okay, I am assuming that in order to get to these places , there must be some kind of reposition cruise, RIGHT? Wouldn't it be cool to go across the Atlantic? Maybe not, could be rough. The pacific was great as far as I am concerned.
Deb, what is your take on the future of the 2007 schedule? You can't do those cruises without getting a ship there. Therefore, extra possibilities. Boggles the mind. Kelli , how is the family? You too , Deb, how is the family? Dad , okay?
Tell them I said Hi. Let me say this about Billy. YOu can't get anywhere in life with F grades or even D grades. It won't make a difference when you apply to school. What kind of testing schould he take to make sure he doesn't have a learning disability . It that even a possibility? The kid obviously has ability, but he is driving us crazy. At this rate, I am not sure he can be accepted into the Christian high school . in the next year. Remember, he is a great son and I love him immensely, but I don't want him to end up on the street.
He was given a computer programming book, C++, and he is studying it immensely. Unbelievable.

Well you may have found his niche!
Going across the Atlantic would be interesting. I am not sure what they are going to do. I have a feeling they may annouce a new ship in July but will not be ready untill 2008. They may do Europe when it is done. This is my speculation!
I am not sure what to do. Mom said she would do Alaska.

Want to hear what I did at work today? I have a little old lady with dementia and alzheimers. After looking for lipstick (nonexistent) for 30 minutes and her continuing to climb out of her bed and or chair- I brought her to the nurses station- logged onto Tony's website and let her look at Georgie's photos from the cruise. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Who knew cruise photos would calm the crazed? I have greater trochanteric bursitis on the right leg , a probable rotator cuff tear in the left shoulder and had to stop Taekwondo before I could get my fourth degree black belt. That upset me cause I really wanted to outrank everyone in the school except the instructor. Doubt I'll be running in the immediate future.

Hi Bill!
Nope, we stay at DL! Never have enough $ or time to do WDW when we go for our cruises! :rotfl2:
We'll be back in the Roy in Sept. And then again the following Sept. And then on the waiting list for 9/2007. See a pattern here? ;)

Hey...
Who's computer savvy? I posted this as a sep thread on the community board, but I need my 'friends' to help me. Our hard drive crashed on our second computer. The one that the kids and James play games on. Buying a hard drive isn't the best answer, buying a new tower/CPU/??? would be. But what is big enough to accomodate my DH's role playing games (i.e. Baldur's Gate, Civil War, ???, etc.) without freezing, hiccuping, being slow, etc. He gets so frustrated trying to play them on this one, a Pentium III...
I looked on ebay and there are something called 'gaming or gamers' but they're like 2 grand! Hey, I might miss a cruise if I have to spend that much! :rotfl:
Can someone 'splain to me what hard drive, memory, graphics, etc. that I need to be shopping for?
Gracias!

Celeste, I'm on call now and have been taking all of Angela's calls. I was also on call last weekend. BUT, I don't have to go in to admit anyone. It makes a big difference.
Kendra, why the Roy suite? Isn't the decor somewhat lighter that the Walt?
I think if I stabilize the practices, I will try to get the Walt or Roy suite sometime, but not now.
Hey, They can't even prove that I have a tear in the shoulder. They didn't even want to MRI my shoulder. I make them and it doesn't show up. They still think I have a tear and shoud have the surgery. In the words of Kelli,,,,NADA!!!!
At least , I think it was Kelli.
So, you're going down there when, TOMORROW?????? Bad you, bad you,,,, Get her , ,sparky,,,,, good dog. Must have frequent flyer points saved up.

Although I do not have the scone recipe from Palo- I do have it from the Grand Floridian...I would guess they would be of the same caliber.
Makes 24 scones
4 cups all purpose flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons shortening
1 1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons margarine
1 cup golden rasins
1-Pre heat oven to 425 F
2- sift flour, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bowl. Rub the margarine and shortening into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine the eggs and milk and stir them into the flour mixture, just until the dough comes together. Fold in raisins.
3- roll the dough out to abouth 1/2 inch thickness on a lightly-floured surface. With a 2 inch round cutter, stamp out 24 scones and transfer them to a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake the scones for 10-15 minutes or until they are light brown. serve at once with devonshire, whipped cream or butter and jam.
I have not tried this recipe-
Kendra, Angela is pretty computer savvvy. I'll try to get her on here to see what is up with your question. She is self trained. She particularly likes internet security and wireless security. Also, she likes to listen to Kim Kommando on the radio. She has her laptop on wireless in bed with her all day long. That way she can play if she gets bored while recovering from the surgery.

If you want it not to freeze up and have good graphic- you probably will have to spend 2 grand....or close to it if it is a laptop. My brother who is a programmer for Microsoft bought a computer from Dell, rather than building one himself (which he usually does). He feels their quality is good for the price.
Get atleast a 80 GB hard drive with atleast 512 SDRAM, I have more than this on my laptop. Get wi-fi- its worth it- unless you are using dial up. Can't help you with graphic cards...I don't game. I like Harmon Kardon speakers or the Cambrige Soundworks stuff. I would also highly recommend a DVD and CD burner.
Just my 2 cents....

Hi Bob and Lee ,hope everythings going good.
In fact there used to be lots of Free Concerts in the 60's.Not any more.
Ashley and Karen
Hi Ashley and Karen.
Thought about you guys when I was watching the concert.
Free concerts? Don't believe anyone knows the concept anymore. Buffett plays for free at his restaurants. Believe he did an impromtu show in Panama a month before we got there. Jimmy in Panama (http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34313&sid=219e289d090173e726df19fbe526a10b)
I have seen REO Speedwagon and Stix for free when they were first starting out. Later in life, when I decided to go back to school, I saw Journey and the Babies (sp?) when a student won some sort of a contest for a free concert. That's about the extent of the free stuff.

My friend won free tickets to a benefit concert Elton John was doing in Laramie a few years ago. I slept through the first half....2nd half, he did all his "hits"--didn't sleep through that!
Free tickets to a benefit? Isn't that counterproductive?

Renae, I just got insurance with the DVC insurance people. They insure points. I was at the cut off point, or close to it. I only insured the cruise with the Wonder. Hey, I need to come see you when I'm down there. What are your usual hours?
Bob, I need to come up and see you and Lee also. Lets see,,,, Billy is off for school so that won't be an issue. We like Fazoli's, is there one in Lafayette?
Billy loves Italian food, particularly fettucini Alfredo. I'm on call this weekend.
Did you get your pin from DCl? I haven't yet. Kay says she got hers and it is great. Her cruise on the Wonder Wednesday is just for fun. No other itinerary or meetings, like a pin show.
Kay,,,, what kind of room do you have for this cruise?
Renae,,,, do they use Cafe du Monde beignet mix at the Port Orleans?

ALSO, THE CRUISE this week is not a pin show or event. Just for fun only. Meeting friends afterwards at Disney for play also.

Kelli, Lafayette is about an hour north of us. We are dead center of Indiana. You kind of head toward Chicago and, I think, halfway or a third up, stop off at Bob and Lee's. And to answer your question...I was home early today to take Mom to the doctor's....you can now add her to the cruise disabled list....she pulled the tendons in her hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a good thing I had to leave work early....the a/c quit working in our "new" office building over the weekend...can we say "hot & stuffy".

Had to come in for a while. Don't want to look like a lobster.
Hey Bill, you remember where Fazoli's is. You stopped there. Haven't been there for several years. Now, Olive Garden is just a mile from there, on the way to the interstate. Chocolate Lasagna. Ahhhhhhhh!

Yes, when we first found them about 4 years ago, they used real plates and stainless cutlery, but now they've gone the plastic utensil route too. They have a sampler that I usually get, since I'm not too much of an alfedo kinda gal....too rich for me!
Their lasagne is great, salads good, but their breadsticks (all you can eat) have garlic butter brushed on them, instead of just butter like at Olive Garden.

Bill,
I'm still off work because of hurting my back onboard, so I won't be there if you come see me very soon. I'll send you a PM and give you my cell # so you can get a hold of me any time. We'd love to see you! Anyone else that comes down too, after all, it's like you're coming to OUR house!!!
Bill, the beignets are from the Cafe du Monde in New Orleans... yummy!
Renae
HA!!!!!! YES!!!!!! I don't know why, but I thought they might be. Call it intuition, yeah, that's it , intuition. And I'm married to ah, um, Morgan Fairchild. Yeah, ,,,, that's it ,,,, Morgan Fairchild.
I will be there on Sept 1. I have some boxes of beignet mix here and mix them up from time to time. I also have a bag of mix from the actual Cale du Monde in Baton Rouge which was given to me by one of the workers. It is different than the mix they sell to the customers. I compared them. I don't remember what the difference is, but , overall , I think I like the boxed mix better. When in the store, the actual real thing is the best. You can't get the boxed mix to fluff up as well. Plus the heat in our fry daddy doesn't seem to remain high enough or stay high.

Hey you Guys!
All that talk about the fast food Italian restaurant, Fazoli's, was making me HUNGRY. I don't think we have any of those chains in NJ!
:wave2: It's great keeping in touch with everyone!
I've been dreaming about a REPRO CRUISE in 2007...
and thought...
just MAYBE...
if enough of us choose to go on the same one, we could go down to WDW early and have a BON VOYAGE send off get together, and chip in on a dessert party in EPCOT to see the fireworks!!! Yes, I really did talk to Joe about this last night on our way over to the folk's cook-out! :goodvibes Bless his heart, he just smiled, said... Yeah, that WOULD be fun... and let me DREAM away! :lovestruc

Hey Georgie...Count Mom & I on a reunion cruise for 2007 and the WDW dessert & firework party at EPCOT!!!!
I asked Mom on the weekend if she had to choose would she still want to go on the Christmas 2006 cruise or the reunion cruise, whenever it is...she said no question...the reunion cruise...she said the Christmas cruise just wouldn't be as much fun with out all our friends!!!!!
So when do the 2007 itineraries come out?????????????????

Georgie,
We're going to watch MK fireworks from home. I'm still laid up and can't be up long enough to see them anywhere else... ARGH! Eric's being very supportive and watching them here with me.
Joe deserves a medal for patience, our dreams can get pretty big, but you'll have to count us in on a '07 reunion cruise, especially if it's a repo cruise somewhere!

Hi Renae
okay I'm scrapbooking the floor plans of the ship and marking out all the disboarders rooms and I noticed in our mini navigator your stateroom isn't listed. What room were you and Eric in? I know it was one of the sideways rooms.

I don't think a day goes by that I don't think about this! The best part is I will already BE in Florida, so count me in on the get together! I bet that early 2007 will be announced in the fall, maybe September. Who knows when the rest will be......remember our repo cruise wasn't announced until a year in advance!
I should hopefully next week get an exact closing date. It should be mine early September! If I could figure out how to post a picture, I would of how my home looks so far! ??????
Elaine, I am with you on sacrificing a cruise for another "big" one.
I'm still waiting for my pin and map....I hope the mail man is careful and doesn't just leave it laying outside.
