I have a techy question......

My computer will not let me into disneyland.com.... or really any of the parks websites. When I go to them they shut my browser down completely. I can go to disney.com, but that is it.

Anyone have any ideas?!?!? I really want to order my tickets online, but my computer won't let me.

I did Adaware and Spybot. Nothing. There was another one a friend sent me, but I have no clue how to use it! I have to send the results to someone and have them debug it (I guess) http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/

This is based on the Magic being SOLD OUT!

What's the scoop on the wine tasting? I'm not sure who is orginizing this and I would like to find out when and where in hopes that I can make this along with the wife.

.Bryan

Well, the event is being sponsored by Dreams Unlimited (through the ever-fabulous WebmasterRegina) who is coordinating snacks and a location for us to hold the event.

If you are interested in attending or have questions about wine that you would like to know the answer to, PM me. I am the keeper of the attendee list and have also volunteered my father to speak about wine. Sort of a mini wine seminar for free. My parents are wine-grape growers and my father also works in a winery, so he is quite knowledgeable and a very good teacher...(sorry, I'm very proud of my Dad  can ya tell?)

I'll throw out an offer, if anyone can use this.

DW and I own a business, and are located three miles from Disneyland. We have full shipping accounts for both UPS and FedEx available, along with packing tape, etc.

If people need to ship things home after the cruise, we can probably help. Shipping costs would be up to you, but they would be at our rates, which are better than what you can get at any walkup location.

If any one is interested, please PM me, and we'll see what we can do for you.

Tony
Wow Tony! That is really generous of you! We won't be staying to play in the parks, unfortunately. Shipping directly home to our critters. But I'm sure there will be some who would love to take you up on your offer.

I loved reading about our sailaway... I WAS RIGHT THERE! I would LOVE to help with holding up the banner! :Pinkbounc

I have a request for all of you prayer warriors out there... :goodvibes This Saturday I have to take a Civil Service exam. As a 12 year State of NJ employee, I've taken my share of these things, BUT this one is different. Due to falling through many cracks in the antiquated system, I must now take an exam for 2 titles down from the work I have been doing for the past 3-5 years. After managing a new project for the past 3 years, and passing the Manager test, and winning Civil Service appeals, the Dept of Personnel decided I shouldn't have been allowed to take the Manager exam. When they got to my name, they requested my name be removed from the official list... and it was. Yes, I am still doing that job, but a new PM has been brought in so the team looks balanced on paper.

I havenot programmed in 7 years, and have been told that this test is designed for programmewr/analysts. Those in the group who I've been supervising will be taking the same test along with me.

I guess the humiliation  everyday, of coming into work, with everyone knowing I've been taken off the list, and must now take an entry test after being consumed with project planning, deadlines, personnel, etc. (I've been there 12 years, and now due to reg changes, and title consolidations, I must take and pass this test)

It's just been so tough. I've been so upset over this, :sad2: I stayed home today in bed, with my heart racing like I've just run a marathon... totally wiped out. Yjese past 6 months have taken their emotional toll. I'm feelling better now, but the mountain on Saturday sure looks big to me!

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Poor Joe (DH) hates to see me so upset. I'd really like to quit, but with retirement and pension 6-7 years away, it's just not realistic. Thanks for letting me ramble... :listen: and thanks for your prayers and your support! :lovestruc

Hi everyone! :wave2:

I heard from Susan this week, and the pins are being delivered to her in about two weeks. Apparently there were some delays getting our order in with the company and John adjusting the design or colors, so we are cutting this really close. Susan will take out the Eastbounders orders and then mail them to me.

I know some of you wanted me to mail the pins in advance, but since we are cutting this so close (the stress is killing me) I don't think this will be possible. I plan to bag them all up, label them, and pass them out in the terminal, and at the sailaways. If I miss you, make sure your stateroom number is on the master list so I can deliver them to you.

Hopefully the two week time she gave me is accurate. If not, the alternate plan is Sarah (Malificent59) will get the pins from Susan and bring them along with her to the port.

One month from today I will be sitting at the show. Funny Linda, I did the same thing at work all day today! My co-workers think that I am nuts!

Happy Birthday Rebecca.

Leslie, re DVC I kinda recall getting a discount on some places at DTD and even in the emporium on Main Street. I tried to go to the DVC member site and it was too busy to get access.

Georgie, All I can say is I understand and thoughts and prayers will be there. Funny how what makes good old common sense is not the way things work when it comes to state Government. Hang in there. Lynda,

ooo, a top!

I thought we only have the neighbors from H*#&... They actually built 8 feet onto our property and then we had to spend 5K dollars to get them off. This was one of the minor things that they have done... Stand your ground girl !!!

Bye, Kim

I did..Been here 20 years now...It wasn't my only tangle with the neighborhood association...just the first...
I actually don't have next door neighbors...Bought 5+ acres and built on the ravine side of it...Just call me cautious...only have someone behind me...The neighborhood black sheep. The guy's a nut...His wife invented clumping cat litter...

Sorry to hear about your neighbors...best to avoid 'em but I think my backyard neighbors have done the same to me...

Randall, luckily I will have my laptop with me so should not get too far behind. Holiday Inn’s are getting pretty good wireless service these days. So I should be set.

My co-workers know I am nuts, but every now and then it is a good thing. Should help me out during the middle of next week.

Bob, great mix, Bimini Twist covers a pretty special place for us, add to that One Particular Harbor, I’d swear that song was written about Alice Town on North Bimini, even though I know it wasn’t, it sure fits it to a tee. Pirate Looks at 40+ these days sure fits me.

I would add Key Largo, kinda fits Lynn and I, Actually a Red Sovine (sp) song “ Jackson Hole Wyoming is the Coldest Place I know) fits better. After Lynn and I met she moved here to Wyoming so we could be together. A day after she arrived the temps went to –64 and stayed there for a week. Wow that was back in the winter of 78-79.

Will we be far enough south to see the Southern Cross? It was well after dark when we landed in Tanzania and my first thoughts were to find the Southern Cross and there it was for me to see on the Far Side of the World. I woke up beneath the African Sky just me and my Swiss Army Knife. Wish I could take that knife with us as together we have had some pretty neat adventures.

I will be printing out a sky map for this trip after the first of May and will check out the southern hemisphere just incase. The site is www.skymaps.com should anyone be interested.

Gotta go into my office tonight and send myself some emails, with work documents. New system with no access from the net. Makes working and travel kinda difficult.

Could have added "Back to the Island". For some reason, at the adult beach at castaway cay, they play "He Went to Paris".
pirate: Considering this crew, maybe "Send Lawyers, Guns and Money". pirate:
Then if one was drving down to port, then the "I-95 Song" may be appropriate.

says the following- JB: European explorers sailing south of the equator discovered this fact as well. They watched the Big Dipper -- the signature star formation of our northern skies -- disappear to the north. Meanwhile, the most famous Southern Hemisphere constellation -- Crux also known as the Southern Cross -- came into view in the south.

DB: But it is possible for the Big Dipper and the Southern Cross to shine in the same sky. On May evenings, the Big Dipper and the Cross reach their highest points in the night sky in concert. At this magical evening hour, the Southern Cross can be seen at latitudes as far north as southern Florida or Texas.

JB: At the same time, the Big Dipper can be seen all the way south to mid-Australia. For star charts showing the Big Dipper and Southern Cross, come to earthsky.org. .
Hope they're right..."when you've seen the Southern Cross, you understand just why you've come this way" :rolleyes1

That would be awesome to see the Southern Cross again. Last time we saw it was in the outback of Australia... it's amazing how bright the stars are when you're thousands of miles from the nearest city and light pollution...

Wow!! I go out of town for a few days and have 28 pages to catch up on!

Welcome to all the new cruisers! With all the planning/research I've done over the last year, I have no idea how I'd be able to get everything ready in just a month???

I did make it to Wal-mart today and found my blinkie flippie floppie thingies -- had such a hard time deciding what color...

Sounds like we have a growing list of medical personel on the cruise(Mechelle and I are both RRT's)--may come in handy for drunken Twister!

Someone asked about private transfers from LA port to DL area hotels. We have booked exclusive van service through Supershuttle. I don't have the price with me right now but it was a good bit cheaper than private car service and the only difference is that we have a van to ourselves instead of a car to ourselves(more room for luggage :) ).

:sunny: Sending some sunshine your way...even tho by the time you get this, you'll have been back to work already.....

Go ahead and cave, Kara!!! It feels good!!! :teeth: My sil tried to embarrass me at Curves the other day by talking about my need for a pair of lightup flip flops (she doesn't know the technical name!) and I told her I *had* to get them, not optional. Don't mind me. I'm just sitting here waiting for it to turn 12:01 so I can check in for my SWA flight tomorrow to MCO. It's only a 3 night trip, so I figure I should be returning to 50 unread pages on Monday. ;)

... and now I'm trying to return my heart rate to a normal speed.
Here's my little caution for those of you flying Southwest --
There seems to be a bit of a delay (a couple of minutes?) between when your flight is listed as available for checkin and when you can actually use the online checkin. During this delay, if you try to check in online, you may get an error message telling you your flight is closed and unavailable and you need to call reservations to make alternate travel plans. Silly me thought that perhaps because the flight was sold out they were going to bump me out of it since I used rapid rewards credit. Crisis averted, panic mode off.

Aw, you poor thing! :guilty: Hang in there, and think POSitive!!! :goodvibes And if anything happens, we'll all come break their kneecaps!!! :teeth:

I know how it feels to make yourself sick over worrying. My Mom taught me everything she knew about worrying unnecessarily!!!! I'm SO sorry this is happening at all, and especially right now. Hi guys

I am ready to ship 2 boxes to the port next week. Are we supposed to put our reservation number on the outside of the package ???

Goodmorning Kim! I have the info copied: I have to get my box together this weekend!

To ship a package to the Disney Magic:

Address Package to:

Disney Cruise Lines
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

bottom left corner of package put the following information:
ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
STATEROOM #: xxxx (GTY if you don't know your # when you send pkg.)
PASSENGER NAME: NAME OF PASSENGER ON RESERVATION
VESSEL: DISNEY MAGIC
DATE OF SAIL: 5/14/05
NUMBER OF BOX(ES) (I.E. 1 OF 1 or 1 OF 2 AND 2 OF 2; SO ON AND SO FORTH)

She said you can ship as early as you want and you can ship it anyway you want (Fed Ex., UPS, US Parcel Post, Slow boat from China). All you have to do is pay the shipping costs to get it to DCL, they do the rest.

Anyone who's still trying to figure out what to wear on Pirate Night, check this out. It's from the Disney Ink Shop on Zazzle. You can make your own semi-custom shirt! I chose Captain Hook with the phrase "Walk the Plank!". There are two Captain Hooks to choose from on page 1. You can choose your shirt color and your phrase (another cute phrase to choose from is "My ship. My rules.). It's a lot of fun, less expensive than a full pirate costume (my shirt cost $20something), and fast. I ordered mine Sunday and got it yesterday in the mail.

I'm planning to wear my shirt with a denim skort and my blinkie flippy floppy thingies.

Here's the link. Scroll down almost to the bottom to see your Captain Hook choices.

Okay, I know it's been discussed here before, but I haven't been reading the thread long since we've just booked the cruise and I can’t read all 8,000+ posts. But I need your help on what to do after the cruise. We’re scheduled to fly out of LAX at 10:30pm on Saturday, so we plan to rent a car at the port, spend a short day at DL then drive to LAX (talk about a long day!).

My dilemma is, I don’t know where the ship docks in LA so I don’t know where to rent a car. Can someone give me the name and address of the port in LA? And yes I do feel silly that I just booked a two week cruise and I don’t even know where I end up!

The ship docks at the Port of Los Angeles which is in San Pedro CA. The only rental agency close is Enterprise which is across the street from the terminal. The rest of the agencies are located in Long Beach across the St. Vincente Thomas Bridge. Most either have a shuttle or will give you cab fare to come to their agency.

To Book through Enterprise you have to call locally as there is a $25.00 drop off fee for leaving the car at the Airport. I know some of the other agencies are not charging a drop off fee so you might want to check around.

Okay, never mind my post...I'm blond...didn't see the pm. :earboy2:

I am impressed by your ambitious schedule. I certainly hope you get to sleep on the plane on the way home.

We are also looking into renting a car. For those of you who are familiar with LAX, is it difficult to get to the car rental return places or are they pretty well marked? We've never flown into or out of LAX and the only thing I know about it is that it is very big :earseek:

I travel alot for business and in my personal opinion LAX is one of the worst airports in the country to get in and out of. My home airport is O'hare in Chicago and would take it anyday over LAX. The problem I have with LAX is the freeways to it are congested almost all the time, the rental car agencies are miles offsite, but what I really hate is the security. Many times they have them on the street going into the airport checking cars. I have lined up numerous times on the sidewalk outside the terminal to get into the security screening line.

Many of the older terminals only have maybe a 100 feet from the curb to the security checkpoint so lining up is difficult. Checking bags there is also a chore, remember one time security would not even let me pull up on the curb to drop my wife and bags off.

My final comment is just allow yourself alot of extra time maybe 1 1/2 hours to drop the rental car and get back to the terminal.

Thanks Tap & Dance. I appreciate your reply. I'm still wavering on whether or not we should rent a car or do supershuttle. We're staying in Annaheim and want to tour LA on Sunday. (We fly out early early on Monday). I think I'll keep exploring options. :moped:

Hi everyone,

Well we have finally decided after running all the numbers that we are going to rent a car from Enterprise ( across the street) to get us to the hotel at Disneyland, and then on to LAX on Monday. The price was basically 1/2 of super shuttle and 1/3 of the cost of a private car service. This way if we feel like touring we can...

Does anyone who is renting from Enterprise and staying at Disneyland want to form a little car caravan and drive to the area together ?? My mom is in charge of the map reading, ( already warned her) but in reality we could end up in Mexico ( she knows she is really bad at maps) , however she wouldn't drive in LA for anything...

So if you are interested in forming a car caravan to Disneyland count us in.

That would be a very good idea, but with everyone getting off the ship and getting all their luggage and keeping their family together and waiting in line to get the rental car/van, there would probably be a traffic jam, if we were to wait on each other. I'm sure there is no waiting area for that. Most of us are going to the Anaheim / DL area anyways. I think that would be hard to do.

For those on late breakfast, it would be impossible. I know, if I were ready to leave, I wouldn't want to wait on others to eat and then disembark and get their car/van and I wouldn't want others to wait on me. If it works out, that would be great, though.

I know the route from Long Beach to DL well and if we are out at the same time as you, we would be glad to head up the road at the same time. Not a problem at all. :moped: :moped:

Kelli that (Cody) is where I may be later in the week. I think several folks would enjoy the mural in the Bottoms Up Bar at the Holiday Inn in Cody. I am in Casper till Tuesday for sure. Up in the air after that.

On the way over here I stopped in Riverton at the Walmart Super Center and scored those Blinky Flippy Floppy Thingies for Lynn and I. Boy those Walmart security dudes have no sense of humor when you dump all the Flippy Floppy Things on the ground and start slam dunking them to find the flashy ones. LOL……

Peter, What is the Holiday on Monday?????

Bob, maybe add Mexico to the CD??? Randall sorry will pass on the John Denver.

Elaine, you lucky duck getting the first docs. Will have to call Lynn when she gets up and tell here to keep a weather eye out. She is working graves.

Regis and Kathy Lee are on their own. DIS folks are much more important to me.

Renae, the wreckage you are referring to is about one third of the way out to the wreck we will be trying find if the tide is high. It is visible when the tide is low. It is a ways out there.

Lynn and I were talking about heading to PO for breakfast on 5/12, will you be there then??

I know that a number of us are going to Anaheim for a couple of days after the cruise. How many are going to tour LA? There are several tour companies that will pick you up at your hotel (Gray Line, Star Line, VIP tours, etc.) Has anyone used any of these in Anaheim? I searched the Disney California boards and saw Star Line and VIP mentioned several times. They seem to have the most variety of tours. We plan to go to Disney on Saturday and tour LA on Sunday. I'm wavering as to whether we will rent a car of do Super Shuttle. I want the last couple of days of our vacation to be as stress free as possible. :Pinkbounc

Scott: We have one and it is just awesome. DH goes to the store shopping with it and puts the groceries in a bag we have hanging on it. He knows everyone in the neighborhood now and I know no one.!!! He lets some of the older kids take a short ride on it but he is very - very careful about it. Can be very tricky with any move you make. You would not regret it if you were to purchase one. I take it that you have riden one before. Come to our house and you can ride all you want, anytime.

Such a strange question, but . . . I know Minnie always wears the white, flowing, sparkley dress on Formal night for the pictures. But, what does she wear for Semi-Formal night? Is she out and around? I'm thinking that DD may wear the Minnie costume for semi-formal night -- I'd love a picture with them...

Az Pirates (Sheila), Does Cammie have a Minnie Mouse costume? Any other around 6 year old DDs (Kaylin?) have Minnie Mouse costume? What a marvelous picture that would be!??

Thanks for posting that Georgie. I hope they update that list a little bit more before we sail...those are, for the most part, the same movies that were playing when we sailed in December. Now, I love the Incredibles and National Treasure, but both will have been released on DVD by the time we sail. Usually DCL tries to have more current stuff running don't they? Especially for this long of a cruise. People will go see movies more, both because it will be a nice respit from the heat and because we will have more time on the ship.

Okay... One more post, then I'm going to look at moreBoolean Logic problems! :rotfl2:

DH called the cruislline this morning and found out the following moviesare tentatively scheduled to be showing on the Magic during our cruise.

No Star Wars, but that could change. We'll have to call back closer in. They have things like National Treasure, Pacifier, Ladder 49, Mary Poppins, Incredibiles, Pirates of the Carribean - stuff like that.

I was wondering if they would be showint Pirated the night of the POC Party! Wouldn't it be cool if they had a LATE showing (say after the deck party) and we could all go in our pirate garb!

pirate: YO-HO, YO-HO! A PIRATE'S LIFE FOR ME!!! pirate:
pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
We Saw Ladder 49 at the PremEAR At Sea. LOL :wizard:

Is anyone besides us using DCL transfers to get to/from the ship? My DH called and found out that they will take us from Long Beach either to the LAX or DL after disembarking. It sounds less complicated to me than renting a car and worrying about traffic etc. in LA. It's going to be one heck of a party on those buses! We usually just drive out to the port, but this time we can't, or we'd have to go back out there to pick it up afterwards.
Renae

Renae, we are taking the DCL bus from the Port of L.A. to the Disneyland Hotel. I am renting a car at MCO (gulp) to drive to Ron Jon's on Friday. Hopefully all the luggage will fit :rotfl2:

Renae,

My DH and I are taking DCL transportation to the Grand Californian. One thing he insists on when we go to Disney is that he does not want to drive anywhere. He says that's the best part of the vacation!

I know you're studying now, but just wanted to send you some prayers and pixie dust for your exam!

What about "Ice Princess"?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is a Touchstone picture and should be showing on our cruise. It would be great to have "Star Wars" but have they ever had a non-Disney released film on the ship?

Robin,
I'd worry about the luggage too! Since we just booked, I can use all the packing ideas anyone has... 4 7 day's, 1 4 day don't come near to telling me what I need for 14 days! I think I need a new garment bag... Help?

We'll look for you guys on the bus. We're staying at Paradise Pier. We try not to drive on vacation too, especially in LA! Scary!

We were on the Wonder on Easter and they had the PremEar at sea of Ice Princess at 3pm and Midnight on Nassau day. That was a little weird, but I guess a lot of people don't go into Nassau, so that's probably why. The other movies on board were Ladder 49, National Treasure, the Pacifier, the Incredibles, and a couple more we didn't see. A 4 day is sure short!

I just started gathering some of Cammi's stuff together today. If anyone has enough clothes to pack away 14 days worth with more than enough left to wear now - it's her!

She does have a Minnie dress and shoes - I'll have to get them out and check the size though. I'm afraid they might be getting smallish.

We've never done the dress-up thing at the parks because I thought it would be too uncomfortable for our typical commando style touring. Might be really fun for dinner one night though.
She has a really beautiful princess dress too (Cinderella) but we will have to see how the luggage space is holding out as that one is pretty poofy!

So are other little ones bringing along Minnie or princess wear?
It would be a really great picture!

You will be missing Star Wars Weekends at MGM so the very least they can do is show the movie onboard for all you SW freaks.. uh I mean fans!!! ;) They have deals with Speilberg so they can pull it off if they really want to I'm sure. If they're looking to occupy people on sea days... that sure would do it! :goodvibes

I might have to look into the DCL transfers... what do they charge if you don't mind my asking... my TA never mentioned anything about transfers.. and in my excitement of booking I never asked!! I thought I read somewhere $59/person... which I thought was really high.

Any DVC members know if we get a discount on merchandise on the ship at all?? :confused3

Do you know if DCL will take us to a hotel/motel that is across the street or close to DL?? Or just to one of the DL resorts??

We are also staying close to DL but not at a DL resort. I'm planning to call Supershuttle next week to find out about rates. I believe the rate from the hotel to LAX is $15 pp. I'll let you know what I find out about the rates from the port to the hotel. I think people posted this info a while ago but I've gone back and forth so many times about transportation in LA that I'm dizzzy. :crazy2:

YES!! I am totally addicted to it! Do you think there is any chance they would actually show it on the ship?

The movies mentioned for the cruise thus far do not impress me -- the only one I would bother to see is Ladder 49 -- I've seen most of them either on the December Mousefest cruise or on my own or I'm not interested.

I would join the chant for Star Wars, but I wonder if there is any hope at all for that, since it's not Disney.

Lost, on the other hand, I can hope for, since Disney does own the network....

Leslie,
It is $59, and we usually don't use it because we're so close, but for peace of mind in LA I'm willing to do it this time.

Anyone planning to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition on Sunday nights and 'How'd they do that?' on Mondays? We LOVE those shows, but if w absolutely Have to, we can have our DS tape it for us... EMHE and HTDT were showing on ABC in our stateroom tv. I didn't see 'lost', but we weren't looking for it. I think they do most ABC programming that is remotely popular.

For all those princess mommies out there, there's a new show on the Castle forecourt at WDW called 'Cinderellabration' that has the most awesome princess gowns for the 'girls'! Tinkerbell's treasures in Fantasyland has matching (read $$$) ones for little princesses. If you don't want your little ones to know that, you're forewarned, but they are gorgeous! I'm grateful I don't have granddaughters yet, or my resistance to these would be nonexistent!
Soarin' has opened at Epcot, the new stunt show is open at the Studios, and the water rollercoaster has opened at Typhoon Lagoon. I haven't been on any of these yet, but we shall see if I get a chance before the 'training' vacuum pulls me into it's full time vortex.....aaaarrrrrrooooowwwwwwwwww! With a sailaway party at the end, I can do it!

I got a quote of $92.00 from the port to Disneyland area.
That was for dedicated service with no other stops and 6 people.
I'm sure it varies depending on how many in the group.
You can't book service from the port online.
The number they gave me to call for dedicated service was 1-800-BLUEVAN

Hope this might help someone a bit.

My Brother in law gave us a 20gig model for Xmas a couple of years ago. Then we upgraded to a newer 40gig model about 6 months ago. Then we upgraded again to a 80gig model just last month (the price was right). So right now, we have 3 units running. Can you say "overkill". But at least we are going to give the 20gig model to a TiVo newby.

Wow!
I have been out for a couple of weeks and the boards have been BUSY!
I tried to catch up but think I might have better luck, just trying to keep up from here on.
My Mom had surgery last week to remove an egg sized mass from behind her ear. So, I went down to help her when she came home from the hospital. We didn't know about the surgery until the day before it happened, it all went so fast. She is doing well now. Then the day I got back hubby was off to a conference. Ugh. Its been a nutty week. We are soo looking forward to this trip. And to hear that docs are coming ...YAHOOOOO!
I have been spending all my spare time ;) shopping for the trip, and I think should stop, or we will need bigger bags.
So, have you guys talked about vaccinations? Our health dept. says we should make sure our Tetanus and Hep A are updated. Has anyone heard anything different?
TiVo! Oh, how we love it.
We bought ours years ago and then last year when we realized how small it was compared to what was on the market now, hubby convinced me to let him void the warranty and hack into ours. So, he replaced the hard drive with one that never seems to get full (I can't tell you how many shows are on it right now, pages and pages). And now we can log into it from where ever we are and schedule things or delete things from it. Which comes in handy when we are on trips and realize we don't want 2 weeks worth of news or "Good Eats" waiting for us when we get back.
I like the idea of multiple TiVos. Hmmmmm, we will have to see if we have any money left after the cruise. ;)
Hey, anyone else see the lime green Mickey antenna balls at the Disney Store? I just can't pass up a new antenna ball. :cool1:

Not exactly sure of distance, but I would guess it would only be an extra 10 or 15 miles more max. from the port to SNA than to LAX.
Given that choice I'd change in a heartbeat. But I REALLY HATE LAX. We always try to use John Wayne (SNA) or Bob Hope (BUR) in Burbank when we fly into LA.
Notice that LAX is the only one of the 3 without a celebrities name - probably because no one wants to be associated with it. ;)

SNA is about the same distance from the port as Disneyland they are within 15 minutes of each other. I love SNA compared to LAX, so much easier, rental car is in the garage next to terminal, and much better facilities as they are brand new.

Would take SNA over LAX any day. A word of caution to those flying out of SNA as the take-off is kind of weird. Due to noise abatement for Newport Beach, the jets go straight up blowing the engine noise back down to the airport. Once they reach Newport Beach they pull the engines back and fly level until they reach the coast. If you have never flown out of there it is a very wierd feeling the first time on take-off when the pilot cuts back the engines on a take-off as it is unexpected.

No documents
I live in the Disney "neighborhood" and Canada gets documents before we do! How does that work? UPS, beware your next delivery on our street, we may have to hold the truck for document ransom. Alex

Geez, it sure is beautiful outside in Ft. Lauderdale today. Just took my grandbaby for a nice walk. She wears me out terribly. Wish I had her stamina. Came inside and made some Ambrosia for us and it was delicious and fresh...

Getting ready to watch Men's Bowling on ESPN. Then take a little nap before supper. Bobby Rubino's sounds real good right now.

Yep, no UPS on Saturday. Monday we will all get bombarded with documents.

How many days left, 27 - WOW - right around the corner. Anticipation is just killing me. :cloud9:

Yes, about the only thing getting me through the day is sneaking over to this site every once in a while and e-mailing my sister at home. At least I've started packing already. She hasn't even begun yet! :earseek:

If you bring a blank -R DVD with you......I can burn you a copy of the show. I have the Tivo with DVD recording capabilities. :)

Serena,

Is that offer open to me as well? If it is, I'll bring a DVD-R and a mailer with postage for you to send it back to me after you make the copy. Thank you so much if you're willing to do this for me! :worship:

Also, I have a question about TIVO -- is there a monthly fee for it, like there is for cable? If so, how much is it? :teacher:

:cool1:

Hi Danicaw,

Welcome back. Glad to hear your mom came through surgery and is doing well.

Everything I've read indicated no vaccinations were required. I hope that is correct!

Wow, your husband sounds like he's very handy with computers, to be able to do that with your TIVO!

I haven't been to the Disney Store, so haven't seen the lime green antenna balls. Nor have I seen them on any cars around here.

Hi Beth,

I can make you a copy too. :) If anyone else would like a copy let me know. I'm also going to be taping a lot of other shows(I'm obsessed w/ TV). If there is anything else that you don't want to miss, let me know and I will tell you if I'm taping it or will have space to tape if for you. :O)

To answer your Tivo question,
The monthly fee for Tivo is 12.95/month(or $299 lifetime subsciption) any additional Tivo's in the same household are 6.95/month.

Thank you so much!

For $12.95 or $299, I guess I can live without TIVO for a while yet. I can see it would be a great convenience at times, but I mostly gave up TV when I got connected to the internet, so it wouldn't be cost effective for me. I watch about four shows a week and only Lost has me seriously hooked. Thanks again!

Kelly, Acupuncture is not that bad, both Lynn and I have used it. Mine was for work stress related, and it was rather plesant. Worked well for me and I would do it again when needed. Actually a DCL or any Disney vacation, or any vacation works wonders for me and stress levels.

I got back around 3:00! I can never thank ALL of you enough for your prayers and thoughts :goodvibes

I KNOW that's the reason I didn't get unnerved by the whole thing. I've never been a good test taker, and get flustered and sometimes "shut down" before I can finish. At least I can say given the nature of the test, I did my best. :flower: I only wish I had more time.

The test was unnecessarily hard. It would have been almost a fun challenge, if we weren't under the gun to finish. The one guy next to me kept turning the pages back and forth, and back and forth, noisy rustle, noisy rustle. I wanted to reach over, grab his book, and whack him on the top of his head! :rotfl: (We sat FACING EACH OTHER at a round table... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!)

 Hey, Hygiene99, now that I've taken this exam... maybe I can write up some of the scavengert hunt clues using the same principles. :rotfl2: That would keep all of us going for DAYS!!! ;) At any rate...

:jumping1: YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST. :jumping1:
