DD wants a digital camera for her birthday. AM looking for something with basic features. Most important thing is it is durable. Thanks.

you could look at the Olympus MJU series - I have the 725 SW and it is waterproof and shockproof which makes it very durable. I have been happy with the pics as well :thumbsup2

Both our kids have the Pentax Optio E10. I don't think they sell it anymore though. I beleive there up to optio E30. Either way make sure the back screen is a soft screen versus the hard plastic. It puts up with alot punishment. Our kids were 5 and 8 when they got them. They still work perfect. Some weird pictures and movies but alot of good shots too. Oh they got them 1 1/2 years ago. STAY AWAY from Disney mixmax cameras. They are junk. Bad pictures and both broke within a week. Not the kids fault either.

I bought the Olympus 770 last summer for my kids to use at the beach. Like the 725, its almost indestructible. Its drop proof to something like 7 feet, crush proof, and water proof. They love taking underwater shots! http://yadayadayada.phanfare.com/show/external/402936/582383/26933397/file.jpg

The pic quality is fine for their purposes. They fight over it constantly, so I am thinking of buying another one before we head back to WDW in April.
