I have only been a WISH member for a little over a year. Duing that time I've come to really respect the thinking that the founders of the concept put into their creation.

One of the corner stones of the WISH ideal is that fitness comes in all shapes and sizes. Healthy and happy are two parts that need not be seperated. A person starving to fit into a size whatever is not healthy nor happy. A strong fit athlete that is still a size whatever but has come to accept that is where WISH is such a wonderful idea.

We are all individuals and our bodies all differ. We can't and shouldn't try to look like a fashion model or a movie star. Our WISH prince and princesses are all beautiful wonderful people. Some of us just don't have the bone structure or the perfect matabaliziums to be the "perfect figures", who the heck said that was the perfect figure anyway.

What we can do is train our bodies and eat healthy and be the best we can personally be. I challange everyone to take a moment today and reflect on how far you have come already. A lot of us are not the sterotype of "Perfect", but hey a lot of us are half and marathoners, so screw the darn sterotype.

We are awesome and we are the voice of the future of health and fitness.

Proud to be a WISHer Panda:hippie:

so true. My legs are the strongest they have ever been. I would hate to lose that now. I had a bone scan on Christmas Eve, one of my hips now has less bone mass. I continue to train for my health, my spirit and well being. Losing a few cubbies along the way would be great but my original goal was to feel good, look good in my clothes and be healthier and all that has happened and in the end, we as a family both here on the net and at home have accomplished a great thing. We worked hard for a year and made it. I was never more proud of us that in that picture in my signature below.

I can without a doubt say that 1/12/08 was one of the happiest days of my life. I will NEVER forget it and I hope to feel the same way next year. We all have some fond memories of our wedding, births of our children, a special dinner or event in our lives, completing the 1/2 marathon was SWEET and knowing that our whole family did it was the best. If you look at our pictures, we are not a size 2, yes we toned up just a bit here and there, yes our legs are strong. We all had different reasons to train but in the end none of that mattered, we won! With our chubbies, our chins and bellies. Thin may be in but we look GREAT!

Oh lovely panda,

thank you so much for reminding us of the philosophy of this board. I think it was getting a bit lost and that just might anger tinkerbell!

It was this board that gave me the courage to start running and the amazing support between members is so inspirational and motivates us all to keep going, in our common goal to get and stay healthy.

Go Wish Team- you're all amazing people and no-one should ever forget that :lovestruc

I am a brand new member and what Wise Panda said is why I joined this community. I have no desire to or illusion of becoming a size "perfect" and here at WISH feel I have support no matter what - bad weeks as well as the good. And I now have the confidence that I will continue to train, feel better and work my way to the ToT 13K and the WDW 1/2 in 2009!
