Anybody have the unofficial guide 2002 edition?

Hello: I have the 2001 edition of the unofficial guide wdw,by Sehlinger.
I am wondering if anyone who has a more recent edition than mine could look up the section "how the hotels compare" I am trying to find out if the carribean beach resort has moved up any notches, cause of the newly done renovations.

In my book it is a three and a half star rating, room quality is rated at 76, I am interested in the rating for the room quality.

So if anyone has the time to check this in their book it would be appreciated. Thanks,

I have both 2001 and 2002 editions--there really isn't any new info to speak of. CBR still has a rating of 76 in the 2002 edition.

It looks like out of the moderates--it's their least favorite--but IMHO, I would suggest you go with what sounds best to you and your family!

Hi!! I have the 2002 edition and the CB room quality rating is still a 76 with 3 and one half stars. I gave the book to my DS for Christmas so it must have been published at least in Oct or Nov of 2001...was the rehab complete by then? :confused:

I think the remodelling was finished in the fall of 2001. You would think that they would up it a bit even knowing they were remodelling it.

I bought the Unofficial guide many years in a row. 2002 is the first one I haven't gotten in a while. I noticed they are often behind on information. I suspect that they have to have their final drafts in sometime in late summer which means they may not have seen the new CBR rooms. I know their dining reviews are way behind. There is a review of the Grand Floridian Cafe that is the same since at least 1996 that lists items on the menue that I have never seen on the menue when I go there. They also still mention that the Concorse Steakhouse is doing better with there preparation then when theyopend a littl over a year ago!!!!

I used to love this book but I feel it is quite dated. I'd wager the deadline for that book is May. Seems like the update shows up in September or October for the following year!

I keep buying it, too, but I don't know why. They always cite the Poly as having rooms on the small side for a deluxe (not the exact wording). The only time that would have been true was in the old,old days when the only hotels were the Poly, CR, and Disney Inn (now SOG). I do think it has some good touring ideas if you're new to WDW.

They may say what they like. CBR has a higher occupancy percentage than the other moderates throughout the year. Note which moderate did not think about a partial or complete shutdown last year.
