MS update on reservations with developer points.

As a new member I made a reservation for a trip this May. I made the reservations on Jan 23rd. As I have come to find out a few dirty little secrets about developer points. One is the booking a reservation is a manual process by MS. As of today Feb 8th my reservation has not officially procesed but is reserved. MS put me on hold for a few minutes(she was very nice) and confirm with whoever is working on this and said as of 5:00 on Friday they are currently working reservation made on Jan 16th. So mine will process in the next few days and then will take another 5 days for me to get the confirmation

Besides the 7 month window the other things to remember for new members is
-Developer points reservation will not show up on DVCmember web site
-Developer points reservations can not be waitlisted

This is all not an end of the world issues but I guess I just want to see my first trip home on paper so I can cancel my other cash reservation.

No, they cannot be banked

We made our developer point reservation for July on January 22nd and got our confirmation number via e-mail on February February 6th. It did make us a bit nervous waiting, but it didn't take too long.

We don't see the reservation on our member website though. Will it ever pop-up on there?

They are usable at any DVC resort, 7 months from your check out date. Providing that there are rooms available.

No although eassier to as the resorst are bigger. I got SSR last August for 14 nights in October, although one night was waitlisted with regular points. Also when the 7 month window came around in November for May I got AKV no problems.

We used 144 of our developer points for 7 days in Vegas booked through II.

We're going thanklsgiving and I thought it would be tough to get, but it was a breeze.
