Has anyone ever taken this class? Thoughts?
I watched a video and I'm not too sure about the stress put on the knees, if this would be good for a runner... I like the idea of the class, though. :confused3
I do it twice a week and love it. A good instructor will show you how to modify some of the leg work to keep the stress of your knees. For example, when I do the lunges I use the bar as support and just use my own bodyweight. You can use heavy or light weights, it's completely up to you.
I don't do it on a run day or the day after the long run if I can help it.

I have taken this class for four years and it completely changed the way my body looked when I added it to my cardio workouts. I started the class before I became a runner and I used to lift a lot!!! of weight for my legs. Now because of the running (and my back issues) I modify the leg work outs to lighter wieght. But I can not say enough good things about this class and what it did for my body and the way I feel about how I look!! :thumbsup2

Awesome Angie! How many times a week do you go? Would twice a week be worthwhile?

Yes I would be in heaven if I could make it consistently twice a week. When I was doing it 2 to 3 times a week along with a lot of cardio I got a lot of complements on the muscle tone and definition that I started to see. On the days I didn't take pump I would do a few wieghts on my own, but in the class I really pushed myself too!!! :)

I've been going to Body Pump off and on for 4-5 months. Consistantly 2x a week since Jan. 1 (in addition to cardio-something 3-4x a week) and OMG I saw definition in my arms last week! :rotfl:
I'm not much of a runner because of a bad knee and hips, and I found it very easy to modify the things I need to. A good instructor will give you several options for each exercise.

Maybe I'll see if I can try a class out before I join the club. We were kinda looking at another club that is about to open that has a rockin indoor and outdoor pool - zero depth, both with a two story slide. But, this other club has the Bodypump class...
So I can modify it for my knees and back? Excellent.
