My friends have convinced me to register for the Disney Marathon in January. In actuality I am probably more dedicated than they are, but they gave me the extra push I needed;)
I was going to register then had a couple questions that I didn't see when I scanned the FAQ list. I figured someone here could help.
I a basic chip supplied with the registration fee or do I have to buy the one they offer. I currently do not own my own chip.
Is there one registration for walkers and runners/joggers? I know the 1/2 I am registering for you select if you plan to walk or run, but I don't see that on the marathon registration.
I did a 1/2 marathon in April 2006 and my next one is May 2007. If I want to register now what do I put down as proof? I don't plan on saying anything faster than 15/mile as I am not 100% sure of my time yet.
If I do get faster can I change the time later?

Thanks for all your help....

1) Chip is provided by Disney
2) One application for all participants
3)If over 5:00hrs, you don't need proof. If you go faster, you can send it later or bring it to Runners Relations at the Expo and they will move you up a corral.
See you in Jan:)

Thanks so much for the quick response.
One last question. If you do buy the chip they are selling can you use it more than once, is it reusable?

Yes, you can use it any any race that uses chips. You just have to provide the chip # to that race.

Go to the reg page at http://www.active.com/framed/event_detail.cfm?EVENT_ID=1514139&CHECKSSO=1&RESET=0
Enter the info and there will be an option to purchase the chip. Before checkout remove the race reg and you will only be charged for the chip. You can do this with the marathon pins also:thumbsup2

You can purchase the chips directly from ChampionChip. This is what I did last year and it worked successfully :thumbsup2 :

I notice Champion's site only shows the 08 chip while the active site shows the 09 chip:confused3
BTW, if order from Actice, the chip will ship in 2 weeks.
