View Full Version : Mid April crowds?

I know I was asking about May a few weeks ago, but what about mid April? We just got the word dh will be deployed to active duty military for a year beginning late April, so instead of going without him May, we're hoping to fit in a trip in mid April.
Since Easter is in March this year, might the crowds be lighter than usual?
Also- is it warm enough to swim?

The last couple of time we went in April it was beautiful weather - not too hot but warm enough for swimming and water parks. We went during an Easter spring break time so the crowds were heavy. This year I would think it would be not so bad after the first week in April. You really need to check on availability as soon as possible and be open to taking whatever resort you can get. The Flower and Garden Festival starts the end of March so the Epcot resorts will probably be booked but SSR and OKW may have some available villas during that time. Good luck and our thoughts will be with you and yours during the coming year.

Thanks. We'll be headed to SSR- the only on-site resort where we haven't stayed.

Many schools spring break are not tied to Easter and are in April. Just so you are aware. Not as bad as Easter but will be busy.

I just tried to call about getting a reservation from April 16 to 21. None of the resorts could accomodate my request for a studio or one bedrrom.

Those are the exact dates DH and I will be at AKV. I made those reserations months and months ago. I think the dates have been sold out for quite awhile.

The only day available at AKV was Saturday night in a studio! The rest of the days were booked!
