flight connection - need to pick up luggage?

Hello,
We'll be flying Westjet from Calgary to Hamilton and then to Orlando. Our return flight goes from Orlando to Toronto and then Calgary. In Hamilton and Toronto, can you tell me whether we will need to get our luggage from the revolving belt, or will Westjet just put the luggage on the next plane? When we get our magical express tags, should we put them on the luggage in Calgary or Hamilton?

you will be picking up your luggage in order to clear customs. The ME tags shouldn't be a problem if you put them on at home. or if you prefer you can tag them while you wrestle them through customs!

I don't believe Hamilton has US pre-clearance facilities, so your luggage will be checked all the way through to Orlando and you will pick it up there, because you will clear customs in Orlando. So put your ME tags on in Calgary.

Coming home, you will clear Canada Customs in Toronto, so you will pickup your luggage in Toronto to clear customs and then have to recheck it for the trip to Calgary.

Actually, I have one more question: Since we will be clearing customs in Orlando, and we are using magical express, will we need to get our luggage from the revolving belt at the Orlando airport, or is all ME luggage taken to a specific area and we go through customs there? Any idea how long this may take? We are arriving in Orlando at 5 p.m. on a Wednesday in May, and I'm wondering when we may expect to arrive at our hotel (All Star resort)

I may be wrong but ME tags won't matter at all if you are clearing in Orlando.
When I made my reservation I asked if I qualified for ME coming from Canada. He explained that if I clear custom before Orlando my bag will be picked up by ME. and I just get on the bus.
If I am clearing customs in Orlando than they can not offer ME picking up bags and I can bring it on the bus myself after clearing customs.

If you clear customs in Orlando, you can put your baggage on the other conveyor belt and leave the customs station empty handed, and Magical Express will handle the bags.

When you get to the Magical Express welcoming area, you will need to tell them if any bags did not have yellow tags on them.
