Adoption of Islamic Sharia law in Britain is 'unavoidable', says Archbishop of Canterbury.

Yes, certainly - I'd be all for this if places like Iraq and Saudi Arabia also allow the adoption of western norms.;)

I don't like getting into religious or political arguements but I do feel that anyone choosing to live in England should abide by our laws and respect our culture, not the other way around!!!!

I usually like Rowan Williams... he's a very progressive, liberal voice in the Church.

However, I must - probably like the rest of Britain - heartily disagree with him in this instance. If I moved elsewhere I would expect to be treated as a citizen of that country... speak the same language, given the same respect, and be bound by the same laws.

It may make me seem a bit harsh, but it is they who must integrate into our society if they choose to live here, and not the other way around.

parts of France have adopted Sharia law and they are now no go areas for the police.

Our country, our laws. Like it or lump it.
