I've gotten a lot of questions about it (even though I'm not a mod :confused: ) so I just wanted to explain it here.
The threads are locking at 250 pages because jumbo threads slow the boards down. Yes, it will be weird to lose the threads, but we'll have to deal with it because we want the boards to be fast.
When a thread locks, someone can make a new one. Be smart though and look if someone's already made a new one or we'll fill up with a bunch of un-necassary threads.
There's no real use griping about it because this is what's best for the boards and it's not gonna change. Otherwise it will start taking 5 minutes to open a thread again.
This is totally an un-official post because I'm not a moderator, but I just felt the need to clear it up for some people. :)
