Hi,
We are so looking forward to this trip...we took advantage of the springtime magic fares
and of course instead of trying to do it as cheaply as possible we decided on a room with the varandah.
So, we are traveling with our two year old who is usually in bed by 8:15 pm...
we're a little worried that we're going to be "trapped" in our room, so that was another
reason to opt for the varandah, at least while she sleeps we can sit out
there and be "tropical"...anyway for those with two year olds...
mine is a little attached to Mommy..she does attend full time daycare at home and
LOVES it..loves kids, games, etc..I worry that she will freak out and not let me leave
her in the nursery for an hour or two...I also saw plenty of info on what they do with the 3 and ups crowd, but really
nothing about the twos...does anyone know if they lock them in a room with just videos or if they do music, dance,
crafts, etc...just wondering what the "nursery" is like.

Also, we booked the later seating, so that she will enjoy the 6 pm show..we figure we can take her to dinner at 5ish
someplace and then see the show and then hopefully stroll her around for awhile until she falls asleep then go to
dinner ourselves (are we kidding ourselves??)
I don't know just wondering what you parents of those terrific two's did, didn't do and would definatly do again .
Thanks, any info appreciated..
ALSO FOR YOU people in the know..are the seas generally calm in the spring again we travel 4/27, I get car sick and
I'm so afraid of getting seasick..(I'll also be in my 18th week of pregnancy) What months are considered the rougher
weather? I would guess hurricane season which is usually SEPT?
Thanks!!!
I CAN'T WAIT!

Hi!

Our first cruise with dd's (one 4yrs and the other 20 months at the time) began on May 1st, 2000. None of us had problems with motion sickness....could hardly tell we were moving, other than a bit of noticeable motion on the first day and the last. Mind you, I wasn't pregnant at the time.

The nursery is great. when we brought dd there, she walked right in and began to play immediately. So I left (thinking she'd be ok). When she realized I was gone she cried hysterically for a couple of minutes...but I guess it wasn't bad enough for them to page me! Then she really clicked with a young guy that worked there and just attached herself to him. Although the experience wasn't THAT bad....she wouldn't go back. The next night we just walked by the nursery...she took one look and calmly said 'no'.......and walked VERY quickly down the hall ahead of us. She wasn't upset about she just didn't want to go.

I found that her routine went somewhat out the window. She was very good and really loved the trip (we did 3day land/4 day sea) and she kept up with the crowd (12 of us altogether) quite well. She didn't want to miss a thing and got by on much less sleep than she usually needs. her afternoon naps were 1-2 hours. We just took that time to get ready (instead of showering and drying hair in the morning...I'd wait until nap time, so as to make good use of 'cabin' time).

Some people thought I was nuts taking such a young one on this type of trip........but she was really excellent. And that's just not my opinion.....my sisters went on and on about how great she was for the entire trip.

You'll have a great time! our next cruise is the 7day eastern, May 4th this year........I'm so excited!
