We are new to the boards, but have made reservations at the Pop Century for June. We have stayed in other value resorts in Walt Disney World and thought we would try this one out. Family of 3 staying for 7 days. We are going to confirm everything on Monday with a dining plan. We'll keep you posted.

I have to admit this picture is a lot of editing. I didn't at all spend a lot of time on the picture, but I did select the railing in front of the Contemporary as well as the monorail itself - for white balance. The orange sky is a result of the white balance, which in my eyes was really quite pleasing - so I went with it. I'm certain - as you look at the EXIF data is was 6:30PM in late April, that the sun was somewhat close to the horizon, which is probably what causes the orange sky...

If I posted the original you would see how horrible this picture was off the camera. I always say I'm a slightly better than average photographer, but a better than average to great image editor... :lmao:

I went to your Fotki site, and I'd say you are being too modest. Yes, you are a great photo editor (that's what I feel I'm best at, too!)...but you also have a wonderful photographic eye, a great sense of where you need to be to take unique pics, AND a great camera:thumbsup2

Off topic a bit, but I do hope that the horrible yellow colour on some of the external panels isn't going to be the final colour of the new Contemporary DVC tower. It'll be an even bigger eyesore if it is. Let's hope that it's just some sort of insulation cladding.

JC&Ali'sMom - That AKL store pic is a perfect example of the beautiful art found throughout Disney. I think it sometimes goes under-appreciated... not many people take pictures of such things. I think a lot of the smaller parts of Disney could be blown up and framed for nice artwork to hang around your house.

This 1st pic is very wierd...but I still kept it. The room was cold and when I got outside the humidity was heavy and played "havoc" with my camera.
I have since been told to keep the camera bag in a plastic bag at night and this won't happen.

I loved the cabins, DH hated the double bed in the master bedroom. I am a kicker and we have a queen at home and that works well. The double was a bit tight. DH slept in the bunk beds and said they were not comfortable. :confused3 Nephew & GF slept in the Murphy bed and said it was very comfortable. :goodvibes Penny:hippie:

We have stayed there twice we like it. The kids now want to stay other places but there are 6 of us so there isn't many places to hold us!:rotfl2: . Inside there is one bedroom with a full size bed and bunkbeds a bathroom a huge bathroom and a kitchen with everything(microwave fridge dishwasher oven stove) then in the living room there is a murphy bed (a fold up bed) full size and a couch and tv vcr. back when we stayed there in 01 there were a lot of trees, since then they have cut down a lot of them do to the hurricans I guess that is what I had heard. If you like the country setting it is great. I heard they just upgraded the main pool with a water slide, it wasn't done when we were there in Dec. there are two pools and laundy mat, camp stores etc.

Nope they have buses and a boat to and from MK. There are the normal buses that go to and from all parks and then there is internal buses that bring you to your cabin

Thanks! Actually, I think that pic was taken around 2ish in the afternoon. That is the Villa's pool and usually not that populated (at least when we were there). It's a nice pool...we liked it more than the big one in the back.
