I got my first book today! I didn't see a Dis name on it, so thank you Barbara! I see that we are "neighbors" of sorts, no wonder I got the book so fast. :)

According to Mapquest, we only live about 100 miles away that is probably why the book came so fast. I don't know if I will really do many of the projects in the book (Celebrate the Season), but I do love looking at craft books. They are so calming! I like all the pretty pictures.

I just wanted to let you all know that I will be going away on the weekend.

I will be gone from Feb 16 to the 26th or 27th.

I didn't know for sure until tonight that I would be going.

So if my packages arrive or the ones that I sent arrive at their new homes, I won't be here to acknowledge them.

I hope I have fun too but it's somewhere warm so that is really all that matters to me right about now :lmao:

Actually we are driving to the Miami area for a remote control airplane competition.

It will be a very long drive with a van filled totally with 2 remote control airplanes.

The drive from here to Orlando is about 18-19 hours if you were to do it nonstop. I think it is a few hours further to Miami. :car:

I will be spending most of my time sitting at airplane flying fields but heck what do I care:confused3

I won't be in the snow and cold :sunny:

I sent out my two books yesterday-media mail. Snow after school on Monday and a snow day on Tuesady with about 7 inches :scared1: kept everyone in until yesterday. Jan and Cassidy were off yesterday again, too, because the snow started up again at morning rush hour.:confused3

I have never been to Miami. But have been around lots who do go back and forth. I have always heard it's a 4 - 5 hour drive. :confused3 Can't say from experience. But wanted to give a heads up just in case.

Now -- I received a book today. :cool1: Looks steamy. Not a type I usually read. But I am certainly willing to give it a try. :3dglasses

I like to read most anything anyway.

Oh yes! There was also a small calendar included. I can use that as a handy reference here in the 'puter room.

I have been trying to get away from my desk during lunch and just go to the car or somewhere quiet to read. This will help push that goal for me.

I was sooooo happy when I got home. It has been a hard semester thus far...anyways. I had two packages, one from silverarrowknits and one from Meriweather. Each had two books and Meriweather's had chocolate in it, which I immediately ripped open and ate (just one, so far haha). Thank you both soooo much. These 4 were some of the ones I was most wanting to read. I really loved this exchange.

Hey all,

I got two packages today! Like donald&daisy, this semester has been really hard for me. I was so excited to see that I had packages when I got home at 7:30PM after a long day of performing neuropsych testing.

I got "Under the Tuscan Sun" and Mickey stickers from sjh801. I also got "Gone," "Dark Angel," and chocolate from Meriweather. I am so excited to read these books. I need some fun books. :)

Mostly warm/hot and sunny but a lot of rain the one day.

My husband won second place for his level at the remote control airplane competition that we went to. He went absolutely no intentions of even doing well and he ended up doing fantastic.

He beamed for hours after the awards ceremony. :teeth: It was worth the whole trip just to see that happen:goodvibes

The coming home part was not wonderful. The last twenty minutes of the drive were really treacherous.

There was a major snowstorm going on and the roads were sheer ice and the snow was blowing and drifting:scared1:

Made us want to turn that van right around and go back to 89º and sunshine ::yes::

I will report on my package contents as soon as I remember to bring the information to the computer with me ;)

I got a package in the mail today.

What a nice surprise on a dreary, snowy, yucky day.

It came to me from Jennifer (no DISname included)

Inside I found 2 hard cover books by Nicholas Sparks.

One is titled Dear John and the other is The Choice.

They both look very interesting.

I have never read any of his books so I'm looking forward to reading these.

Inside the cover of one of the books I found a little envelope with a coin or medallion of some sort with a whole in the middle?

Jennifer, you will have to explain to me what this is.

Crusin- I'm glad that the package finally arrived. The coin is 5 Japanese yen. I like the coins with holes in them just because they are so different than what you normally see. I hope you enjoy the books:)
