After a recent thread about Larry Dotson and David Doss, I thought it would be fun to see the artwork you acquired. How bout' a photo of an art treasure from Disney. I will start with this one.

a few Armani figurines, a Boyer of Self Portrait, and a canvas of the fab 5.

I don't have pics, but I'm sure most have seen: We have Disneyland's 50th Anniversary and A New Day at Cinderella Castle (this one is hand signed twice and has a sketch on the back) by Thomas Kinkaid. We also have a seriagraph that was originally used in a cartoon - Mickey's surprise Birthday Party. We also have some LE framed pin sets.

A few things I've picked up at Disney.... I call it "art" even if its not classical art ;)

I have an original John Alvin of Aladdin. and as soon as the photobucket site comes back up, I will DL a pic and show it off.

It's a pencil drawing of a Movie Poster Concept that ultimately was used for the European release of the film. It's also autographed.

Now if you wanted Chuck Jones or Theodore Geisl/Dr Seuss art..well, I got LOTS of those. :cool1:

I saw them at that Big huge Disney store at Down Town Disney... it was only $250, the artist name is Olszewski

I'm sure you can call the main number at Disney merchandise and order over the phone.

I have a Christmas train set in N-scale and it would be perfect size for that.

The only problem I have is that I live in England so the international shipping would cost a fortune...hopefully they will still have them in December.

The castle sculpture is an open edition (I love that) I don't like when artwork comes out in a limited number. So you should have no trouble getting one in Dec :wizard:
( I think it is actually Z-scale if you know trains, but should work good with N-scale train set-up also)

No Disney train set. ... Here's a photo before I set-up my new train. Maybe as I buy Disney stuff it might start to look more Disney LOL (never mind the monster standing in the back of the room, I have a friend who is an artist, who made that for my toy collection) :rotfl2:

If anyone is still interested, the James Colemans are great pieces. We are hoping to snag one one of these days. They just put up a new one at EPCOT's Art gallery...it is of Copper and Tod, from the Fox and the Hound! Darling. I will try to get a few shots of what we have...we currently have a few Destino's from the Dali/Disney collaboration. We also have an original Don "Ducky" Williams original of Snow White Under the Stars...lithos made and given to Concierge guests on the cruise line. We own two Noahs...www.fineartnoah.com of the Snow Queen and Tink with Pan. A Tricia Buchanan Beckwith artist proof-Tink's Reflection. James Rowe's The Black Pearl. Our newest is the new release from John Alvin...who unfortunately recently passed away...called Tink Shows the Way. My husband's favorites are our David Willardsons...The Flirt, with Donald and Daisy...Twosome...with Goofy and Pluto, In the Pink ...with Minnie and finally Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. He has some wonderful pieces that are fun and whimsical. In the future I would really like to get an Ellenshaw or two.

I will try to get some photos to put up. There are a lot of awesome artists in the Disney gallerys. I highly recommend checking them out!!!

Makes me want to work a second job!! We don't have a lot of room, but I will find room for the artwork in the gallery's. We always stop at EPCOT and DTD to check out the work. We will be there in late May, and will take a look for the artist's that present during the F&G festival.

We were just down there and Dotson has a really cool new piece with the Haunted Mansion and an edition size of 999! Fun! A good artist to pick up is John Alvin as he passed away very unexpectedly in the last few months. He did the poster art for Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Lion King...and the list goes on. He had some really cool pieces from Pirates of the Caribbean of Orlando Bloom, Kiera Knightly, and Johnny Depp. Check out the gallery on Main Street as well. Each gallery has different works so check them all out!

Have a great trip!

John Alvin passed away. That's horrible. I love his art. Now there will be nothing new. I guess I better get out there and buy the ones I wanted before they are gone also.

I wouldn't mind collecting these paintings. Don't know anything about them.
Any owners of james coleman's art here? What do you think?

These are from the artist James Coleman. You can check them out if you google Disney Fine Art. They are available through the Disney Galleries, as well as some other galleries out there. Occassionally you can find them on eBay...be careful though. There are several by Mr. Coleman and by the Ellenshaws that are represented on eBay that are actually done as non-approved reproductions.
James Coleman at one time worked for Disney...not sure what films...but has beautiful pieces!!!

I just bought these at Epcot from Larry Dotson. It was cool to meet the artist. He does amazing work. I wish I could have bought more.

I still need to get them framed and finish some renovations in the hall where I want to hang them.

Christi...

WOW!!! Outstanding. You should consider submitting it to Disney to show your pieces and sell them at Disney during the Flower Garden Festival, or the Food and Wine Series. Or maybe try to find out where to submit your work to enter The Festival of the Masters.

Good luck!!!!!
Best of days!

Tomspixie, thanks so much for your kind words. I can't think of much that would make me happier than that. I have never been able to go to the FGF or FWF, so I didn't know they featured artists... and have not heard of FOTM. I guess I just assumed only Disney-employed or commissioned artists would be allowed to sell their art on property. Now that would be a dream come true! pixiedust:

Hey Christi...

Maybe check with the Art of Disney galleries to see if they could direct you to whom you would need to speak. You have something differet to offer and it is beautiful. The other tip I would give is to copyright your drawings before you submit them!
Good luck, and I would love it if you would keep me posted on the progress if you pursue it.
thanks

Well, I was looking through this thread and thought "Hey, cool! Maybe I can post some disney drawings I've done!" Only to remember that I haven't done any! :sad1: I really should. Any ideas?

In any case, this is a really cool thread. I very much enjoyed viewing everyones collections and work. :thumbsup2 I am absolutly going to have to remember to buy myself a nice painting next time I go to disneyland or WDW... whenever that will be.

I have a question though. Would I be alowed to draw in the parks (not to sell, just for fun. The scenery of disney is beautiful), or would that be a no-no?
