The 'server' is having problems -- and our first thread has been effected! BUT, that won't stop US, will it?!? If you missed this weeks questions, you can still cut and paste them from our old thread. Here is the link to our 'old threas' if you'd like to still refer back to it.

JoAnn, I haven't started packing yet. Every weekend I tell myself that I will start...... but I am a procrastinator! THIS weekend I will start!:)

I heard from everyone in regards to the leis/lanyards except myjeep93's family and JAN ENOS family. I don't want to seem like I'm pressuring -- BUT I would feel bad to leave someone out --- that really wanted to join in. Email me if you'd like more information.

Be sure to bookmark 'our thread' and put it in to your favorites. Check it often to see if there are any new posts --- as it seems the board isn't always 'bumping up' when we have a new post!

:) My family will be sailing on the Disney Magic April 20th - 27. Words cannot describe how excited we all are. We have already pulled out the suitcases and started to review our packing lists. We make up a family of 6. Sharon (34), Jay (35), Avery (7), Emma (3), Sal and Janice (Grandparents). What area does your family reside in? We are from the New England area, big fans of the Patriots (Superbowl Champions). We will be arriving the day of departure…. kicking myself I didn’t make plans to fly out the night before because I think we will be exhausted from traveling by the time we get to the ship. I think Ziploc baggies are going to be a must pack item on my pack list because I have so many uses for them … laundry detergent to excursion snacks they are a must have. This will be our 3rd cruise but the kids and grandparents have never been on a cruise before. We cruised the Royal Caribbean’s Cruise Line and Carnival. We will be dinning in the early seating. I just can’t make up my mind about whether to Palo or not. I really don’t want to stand in line to make reservations after I get on the ship. I find it hard to believe that they make you wait in long lines to make these reservations when they could be made in advance prior to arrival. Not really complaining but just wishful thinking. I am really hoping to take in a variety of the decks but I will probably end up at the Mickey pool with a 7 year old and a 3 year old for a good portion of my days. I have been counting the days and reviewing the boards on a daily basis. I have been able to get some really good advice from this board and I am so happy to now be a member. Looking forward to meeting some friendly faces. :D  :earsgirl:

What are your plans for St.Maarten Day?
Taking the water taxi over to Great Bay Beach. Maybe walking around town a little. Probably catch the water taxi back to the ship for lunch. Fruity umbrella drinks on the beach!

How about St. Thomas day?
We might walk around the shops by the ship -- then treat it like a day at sea? Enjoy the pools, etc - while most of the crowds are on the island.

Are you making any plans for castaway cay day?
Not really, just hope to make it there this time! I'd like to check out the adult beach also. PLUS, I'll be sure to have a conch cooler!

What shows are you most looking forward to on board?
Disney Dreams. And also hoping for some good movies!

Cut and paste. Replace my answers with yours!

What are your plans for St.Maarten Day?
Maybe the Butterfly Farm excursion

How about St. Thomas day?
Trunk Bay excursion? I really want to see St. John for some reason!

Are you making any plans for castaway cay day?
Nothing special - but I'm sure my daughter will want her hair braided if she hasn't already got it done before then. But I hear the lines are long for braiding at Castaway Cay .....

What shows are you most looking forward to on board?
Sounds like Disney Dreams is a must see!

They've started doing hair braiding on the ship -- during the days at sea. Hopefully it will continue!! So much nicer than wasting island time standing in line.

What are your plans for St. Maarten Day?
We'll probably rent a jeep and see the island ourselves. We've been there twice before, but not in 12 years! Not since the bad hurricanes they had. We like Maho Beach Resort- might even check out the casino a bit!

How about St. Thomas day?
Not sure yet. Sapphire beach sounds nice. Haven't talked to dh about excursions yet. Shopping is one thing, though.

Any plans for castaway cay?
Swimming, snorkelling (we'll bring our own equipment) relaxing, etc.

What shows are you most looking forward to on board?
As first timers, all of them!:)

What are your plans for St.Maarten Day?
Taking the water taxi and walking around the town - maybe checking out a nearby beach. Shopping and relaxation. Probably lunch back on the ship.

How about St. Thomas day?
We are going to do the Champagne Catamaran Sail to St. John! I'm pretty excited about this as I have heard that it's a great all-adults getaway!

Are you making any plans for castaway cay day?
DH will try parasailing for the first time. Other than that, we'll probably just relax and enjoy the adult beach!

What shows are you most looking forward to on board?
Disney Dreams. And also hoping for some good movies!

How about St. Thomas day?
Same as above.

Are you making any plans for castaway cay day?
We are all about not making any plans.

What shows are you most looking forward to on board?
Not sure. I haven't really read up on them. Maybe I'll wait and just be suprised. I am also looking forward to some good movies.

Dodie and Jody (hey I like that it rhymes!) - can you tell me more about the water taxi? Where's it leave from, where's it go etc. Thanks!

wovenwonder
03-13-2002, 08:51 AM
You will catch the water taxi right near the ships dock. The cost is $5 per person (young children are free). For the $5 you can ride back and forth all day long. It will take you right across the harbor to the island. There is a beach (nice) right where the water taxi drops you off in St. Maarten. It is Great Bay Beach. You can rent chairs, umbrella's, etc for a very reasonable price. Locals will come around selling their wares and offering hair braiding (for a fee). Locals will also walk around selling island style drinks. You can pay $5 per person to use a big trampoline out in the water. And they also have jet ski's available from different vendors to rent.

We plan to visit the beach late morning. Return to the ship to shower and eat lunch. Then possibly catch the water taxi back over to the island and walk around the many shops. This is a great place to buy outfits (inexpensively) for the island night themed dress that evening on the ship.

:)

Had anyone else in our group used Dreams Unlimited to book their cruise? I read on another thread that when any travel agent has 8 or more rooms booked for a particular sailing that DCL throws in a gift to be waiting in the staterooms. We have 2 rooms booked thru Dreams, and so does BHNJ's family. So, I was just wondering if there might be 4 more rooms booked thru Dreams in our group?

Hi! I just found this site and all the great messages. We too are going on the 4/20/02. My husband Tracy, myself Kim, our daughter Haley (5yrs) from Nova Scotia and Nannie Donna and Grampy Doug from New Brunswick. We are so excited and are counting the days. Everyone provides such great tips that I think I will need a new suitcase for all the extras. We leave to drive down on the 16th , should take us 3 days to get there. Hope to meet you all on board!!

Welcome to the DIS Boards -- and especially to our thread for the 4/20 cruise.

WOW, we have lots of Grandparents traveling on this cruise! (and lots of LUCKY Grandchildren too)-- how nice to share this vacation with your extended families!
:)

Look at our list of cruisers -- our group has grown to 91 people! I still have plenty of green leis (no charge) and Lanyards with cases ($2 ea) available for everyone in our group. I hope to see everyone wearing the green leis at the port terminal and on board the ship on 4/20! I'll let you know when they go in to the mail. If you haven't contacted me with your mailing address yet -- it's not too late! I can still put your family on our list for the leis. (thanks again Camille - BHNJ - for such a great idea of the green leis!).

One reason I chose the April 20th cruise was because it was after Mass's school vacation week and I thought it might be less crowded. However, just realized NH has school vacation the week of the 20th and also found out that our cruise is booked to the max as far as kids go. Now I'm getting worried my 6 yr. old DD may not like the kid's club because it will be too crowded. And in 'eshannon''s trip report she states "They [her kids] didn't really enjoy the clubs that much. I think there were too many kids for them." Any of you veteran Disney cruisers have any opinion on how crowded 'crowded' is? Also, would love to have my DD (who is in kindergarten) find some buddies in this DIS group, so that she might be more likely to enjoy the kids club/activities with them - and so maybe I will get a chance to relax!!!! 5 weeks and counting.... Nancy

Nancy,
We cruised this exact same week last year - as did islandhoppers, BHNJ, and medotmom. I think that they would all agree that the ship did not seem full at all. My son chose NOT to do the kids clubs -- but that was his personal choice. He just wanted to relax from the everyday structure of life -- the same as I did.

You may want to PM a few people with kids close in age to Hannah's -- we have quite a few in our group. Every child is different -- and it's really hard to tell how they will adapt until they are in the situation. The only thing I would suggest - is to take her to the club the first night to get to know kids. I found that many kids formed groups early on in the trip -- the longer she waits to join in on the activities, the more left out she may feel.

Final advice (for now anyway) is just RELAX! Hannah will surely have the vacation that only dreams are made of!;)

Nancy,
Our daughter, Haley is 6 (as of tomorrow) and it will be her first cruise. We will have to make sure our dds hook up. I'm sure there will be lots of things to keep them entertained. I read your post to her and she was excited that there were other six year olds going too!!! Little does she know just how many!!

What are your plans for St. Maarten Day?
Not planning on any excursions. May take advantage of the water taxi and check out the beach. For you experienced cruisers – any problem with nudity on this beach? Feel we need to take this into consideration given our 8 yr old dd. Probably take in the town as well.

How about St. Thomas day?
Still no planned excursions. May just hang out.

Are you making any plans for castaway cay day?
Definitely taking in the beach, snorkeling, banana boat ride.

What shows are you most looking forward to on board?
Being first time cruisers will probably check everything out - been hearing alot about Disney Dreams so that's at the top of the list.

Hi 3 disneyteers,
We,ve been to St. Maarten twice on regular vacations. It seems that the French side of the island is more popular with European tourists, therefore nudity can be found on the beaches. The Dutch side of the island had more Americans. Philipsburg is the Dutch side, and thats where the ship will be. :) At least thats how it was 12 years ago. Hope this helps!

Hi, Just returned from conference in Va. Yesterday it was real warm and sunny and I managed to spend a few hours in Virginia Beach. Really had me wanting to get on that cruise!!. Here are my answers to Jody's questions.

What are your plans for St.Maarten Day?
Taking the water taxi over to Great Bay Beach. Maybe walking around town a little. Probably catch the water taxi back to the ship for lunch. Fruity umbrella drinks on the beach!
I did not delete Jody's answer as our plans are the same.

How about St. Thomas day?
We plan to take a taxi to Magen's Bay in the AM and maybe do a few shops n the afternoon.

Are you making any plans for castaway cay day?
Not really, just hope to make it there this time! I'd like to check out the adult beach also. PLUS, I'll be sure to have a conch cooler! I second Jody's response!!!

What shows are you most looking forward to on board?

Think we may miss several shows this year - we may use that time to relax in the empty hot tubs!!

I also wanted to respond about the kid's clubs. My son is 14 and last year he used Common Grounds as a meeting point to meet new friends. He loved the cruise - no wonder we are returning this year and may do it again next year. For the younger kids, I hope they at least give it a try. On one RCCL cruise, one family had kids that did not even try the kids club (my son was always there and he was around 9 then) and everyone was miserable, parents and kids as well. They might not want to be there every minute, but I'm sure there will be some fun things to interest them to give everyone break. Just my opinion.

Up before the Rooster Crows, or plan on sleeping in?
No alarms clocks for me on this trip! Whenever hubby and I happen to wake up, that's when we'll start our day. I would guess that we will be up and about by 8:00am though.

MIDNIGHT = 'Lights Out' or 'The Fun Has Just Begun'??
In the past, we always had early dining, and I was ready for bed by midnight. This year we chose late dining, and I am hoping to enjoy the club entertainment at night. Maybe an afternoon nap will be in order though;) .

You tell me that you'll be on 'Beat Street' at night. Will I most likely find you at 'Sessions' (piano lounge), 'Off-Beat' (comedy club) or 'Rockin Bar-D?
I'd like to check out the piano lounge. But, I would most likely be at Rockin Bar-D or Off- Beat.

It's 2pm on a Day as Sea --- where would I most likely find you?
Relaxing poolside, on the deck #4 cushioned lounge chairs, or maybe deck#7 aft area.:sunny:

I find you at the Deck#9 Beverage Station -- what will you most likely have in your cup?
Probably ice water. Unless its in the am -- then coffee.

Now it's your turn! Cut and paste and fill in with your answers in a reply below.
:)

Wow - can't believe I'm the first to reply - here goes my answers.

Up before the Rooster Crows, or plan on sleeping in?
We have a built in alarm for 5AM and even on the weekends we rarely sleep beyond 7 or 8. I enjoy getting up early and walking the deck, husband will probably sleep till whenever. Eric is another story - since he will probably stay out until 1 or 2 - he'll sleep half the morning. I hate to waste my day sleeping.

MIDNIGHT = 'Lights Out' or 'The Fun Has Just Begun'??
We have late dining and then enjoy the nightclub type shows. After a stroll on the deck, it will probably be to bed - won't be able to completely sleep until Eric is in however.

You tell me that you'll be on 'Beat Street' at night. Will I most likely find you at 'Sessions' (piano lounge), 'Off-Beat' (comedy club) or 'Rockin Bar-D?
We enjoyed the entertainers at Rockin Bar-D so that's probably what we'll do this time.

It's 2pm on a Day as Sea --- where would I most likely find you?
Either on deck 4 in one of those lucious lounge chairs or up on deck 9 enjoying the sights.

I think I lost the last question - but its about a drink - probably water or iced tea for me - beer for husband. Eric, who knows, we hardly see him!

Relaxing poolside, on the deck #4 cushioned lounge chairs, or maybe deck#7 aft area.

I find you at the Deck#9 Beverage Station -- what will you most likely have in your cup?

Up before the Rooster Crows, or plan on sleeping in?
No alarm clocks but I'm sure we'll be out and about by 8 or 9. I'd like to jog (okay walk) around the deck early one morning.

MIDNIGHT = 'Lights Out' or 'The Fun Has Just Begun'??
We had late seating last year but were so tired that we rarely stayed up too late. I did, however, sleep with one eye open until Brianna and Joe came in at about 2 a.m. This year we plan to stay awake and enjoy the entertainment.

You tell me that you'll be on 'Beat Street' at night. Will I most likely find you at 'Sessions' (piano lounge), 'Off-Beat' (comedy club) or 'Rockin Bar-D?
I think Rockin Bar-D but will probably visit the others.

It's 2pm on a Day as Sea --- where would I most likely find you?
Jody gave the thumbs up to deck #4 cushioned lounge chairs, or maybe deck#7 aft area so we'll try there. Also have to stop by Scoops for that afternoon dish of fresh fruit.

I find you at the Deck#9 Beverage Station -- what will you most likely have in your cup?
Those delicious flavored teas!

Up before the Rooster Crows, or plan on sleeping in?
I plan on being up early every morning(my favorite time of day) watching the sunrise while walking laps on, deck 4 is it? DH will probably sleep in until I get back and wake him up.

MIDNIGHT = 'Lights Out' or 'The Fun Has Just Begun'??
I think midnight will be it most nights for us. But we are there to have fun, so we may have to nap in the afternoon and live it up later at night.

You tell me that you'll be on 'Beat Street' at night. Will I most likely find you at 'Sessions' (piano lounge), 'Off-Beat' (comedy club) or 'Rockin Bar-D?
I think we'll be cruisin all of them.

It's 2pm on a Day as Sea --- where would I most likely find you?
Probably napping somewhere.

I find you at the Deck#9 Beverage Station -- what will you most likely have in your cup?
More than likely it will be water for me and beer for DH, although flavored ice teas sound good too.

Up pretty early for all 3 of us I'm betting - sort of a bad habit we have!

MIDNIGHT = 'Lights Out' or 'The Fun Has Just Begun'??
Mom will definitely be snoozing, 6 yr. daughter wants to stay up that late! - not sure I'll make it

You tell me that you'll be on 'Beat Street' at night. Will I most likely find you at 'Sessions' (piano lounge), 'Off-Beat' (comedy club) or 'Rockin Bar-D?
I probably won't tell be telling you I'll be on 'Beat Street'! (not cuz I'm trying to keep it a secret - but because I don't plan on spending much time there

It's 2pm on a Day as Sea --- where would I most likely find you?
Probably by the kids pool

I find you at the Deck#9 Beverage Station -- what will you most likely have in your cup?
Definitely coffee in the AM - water for me later in the day - chocolate milk from my 6 yr. at all times of the day! .

Hi All,

I'm still on last week's questions.

What are your plans for St.Maarten Day?
We took the beach excursion last year, this time we're going to try the water taxi over to Great Bay Beach.

How about St. Thomas day?
The 5 star snorkel trip to St. John.

Are you making any plans for castaway cay day?
No, just hope to make it there this time!

What shows are you most looking forward to on board?
Disney Dreams and some of the variety type shows.

Now this week:

Up before the Rooster Crows, or plan on sleeping in?
Sarah and I are early risers, my DH likes to sleep in. Last time we ordered room service almost every day and enjoyed it out on the veranda while he slept.

MIDNIGHT = 'Lights Out' or 'The Fun Has Just Begun'??
We should be tucked in before midnight on most nights.

You tell me that you'll be on 'Beat Street' at night. Will I most likely find you at 'Sessions' (piano lounge), 'Off-Beat' (comedy club) or 'Rockin Bar-D?
We want to see the early family comedy shows if we can. Saw parts of them last year.

It's 2pm on a Day as Sea --- where would I most likely find you?
Hopefully on deck 4 in a cushioned lounge chairs with a good book.

I find you at the Deck#9 Beverage Station -- what will you most likely have in your cup?
Ice tea, if they have it.

No documents yet. We didn't even get a confirmation about the excursion we booked.

Have a great week!

Finally getting around to answering some questions......
We haven't received any docs yet either.
We are having a major snow storm here today so this vaction is looking better all the time. Just wish we didn't have to wait another month. No school today so maybe we will start packing!!!

Anway here are some answers..

What are your plans for St.Maarten Day?
The 3 of us are planning on snorkeling on the Pinel Island tour and the Grandparents are doing the sailing regatta

How about St. Thomas day?
The 5 star snorkel trip to St. John and Grampy and nanny are doing an island tour

Are you making any plans for castaway cay day?
No, just plan on taking it easy. Hope we get there, disappointing for dd if we don't
What shows are you most looking forward to on board?
Disney Dreams and everything else too.

Up before the Rooster Crows, or plan on sleeping in?
Up at the crack of dawn. Don't want to waste a second.

MIDNIGHT = 'Lights Out' or 'The Fun Has Just Begun'??
We will likely crash by 11. I know I would last but dd won't. No worth it the next day to have over tired kids!!!

You tell me that you'll be on 'Beat Street' at night. Will I most likely find you at
'Sessions' (piano lounge), 'Off-Beat' (comedy club) or 'Rockin Bar-D?
Somewhere we all can go.

It's 2pm on a Day as Sea --- where would I most likely find you?
Those deck chairs everyone keeps talking about sound awfully inviting!!! But likely by the kids pool.

I find you at the Deck#9 Beverage Station -- what will you most likely have in your cup?
Something cold with an umbrella for me, bucket of beer for dh and something nonalchololic for grandparents. To each his own!!!

Hope everyone has a great day. Think of me out shovelling snow!!!

Sorry we're so late in answering this week's or was it last week's questions - can you tell we need this vacation!!!!

Up before the Rooster Crows, or plan on sleeping in?

Probably somewhere in between - definitely up by 7AM - don't want to miss a thing!

MIDNIGHT = 'Lights Out' or 'The Fun Has Just Begun'??

We're dining at the late sitting and will all depend how much "rest" we get during the day - I'm thinking more along the lines of "lights out" the majority of the time - maybe dh and I can sneak some late nighters in!

You tell me that you'll be on 'Beat Street' at night. Will I most likely find you at 'Sessions' (piano lounge), 'Off-Beat' (comedy club) or 'Rockin Bar-D?

The piano lounge sounds good but since we're first timers will try to check them all out.

It's 2pm on a Day as Sea --- where would I most likely find you?

Relaxing somewhere poolside catching some rays - a cushioned lounge chair sounds wonderful right now - will depend on our 8 year old too!

I find you at the Deck#9 Beverage Station -- what will you most likely have in your cup?

i don't know - guess it depends alot on what Deck #9 Bev Station has to offer.

Is it time to go yet??

I am from the Pentz-Foreman family. I actually booked all of our trips for us. There are a total of 10 of us
Barbara and Tom ( parents) Previous Cruisers
Kelly (25) and Monte Foreman (29) and Janie (14 mo) and one on the way...
Amy (27) and Michael Christopher (31)
Wesley Pentz (22)
Diane and Bobby Pentz (aunt and Uncle) Previous Cruisers

This is our family vacation.
We are excited. None of the youngins have cruised Disney before, and are thrilled to have found this board with alot of great information.

Is there anyone out there with a small toddler?? We have already found a friend for Wesley, we believe. Amy has been searching for some childless friends..

We recieved our cruise docs two days ago. Most of us live in Central Fl, so we are just a hop, skip and jump away from the ship.

Hi Kelly,
I'm glad you found your way to our boards! I have been enjoying being in contact with Amy about the cruise. Remember to have Wesley email my daughter, Shelby. She has been looking for his email -- and hoping to meet some more late teen/early twenty singles on board! She is traveling with a 19 year old friend. Donna-Lee's large family group will have an 18 year old - Justin on board. And BHNJ's family has a son, Joe who is 17.

Kelly - it might be nice for you to be in contact with Jan Enos's daughter Shelley and her husband Sean. They will also have a young child in the 'flounders group' - Emma is 2. They also have two other daughters Sadie, and Abigayle. Email me if you'd like me to try and get a contact to Shelley for you.

Up before the rooster Crows, or plan on sleeping in?
My kids always wake up early on weekends or vacation, so they will dictate when we all wake up!

Midnight="lights out" or the fun has just begun? I'd love to stay out late with dh, what time do the kids programs end? Do you start paying a fee after a certain time?

Sessions, Off-Beat or RockinBar-D? We'd like to try them all!

2PM on sea day-If the kids are in the lab, we'll be relaxing somewhere.

Deck #9 beverage station? Definately coffee in the morning, water in the afternoon.

No docs yet.:(

Liz,
There is never a fee in the Kids Clubs. They only charge a fee in Flounders Nursery. I looked on the Kids Navigators (schedules) and it appears that there are organized activities until 1:00am. Here is a link to the Navigators:

Well now I am jealous - no cruise docs for us yet. They should be in soon however.
Have not even started packing - just sitting here looking at the SNOW left from our spring storm on Wed. It is cold outside - guess we are getting the winter now.

We are also in the planning stages for next year's vacation. Realized the other day the Eric's vacation begins on Easter and naturally, all the prices are much higher. We are thinking about going on Vogageur or Explorer in Feb vacation instead of returning on DCL. We love DCL, but maybe a change is due.

Looking forward to meeting everyone very soon in the warmth and sun of Florida!!

Welcome to our thread to JCALR!! I received your email, and I will forward the sailaway party info, etc. to you! I also have added your names to our growing list of cruisers.

Reminder to all......

Wear you green leis (they'll be in the mail this week) and lanyards for those who ordered them (almost everyone!) when arriving to the port and the first day on the ship. This will be an easy way to recognize others in our group -- and have the opportunity to meet each other in person. Also, look for our DIS sign in the port and at the sailaway party. My family is meeting with BHNJ's family the friday before the cruise. We are having our kids make the sign with supplies that Camille is providing (thanks Camille)!

Sailaway party - we will meet at 4:30 (4/20) on Deck #10 overlooking the goofy pool area - Port Side.

Any other suggestions for an additional meet (in a quieter area) where we can have time to talk -- any date/time suggestion? I was thinking that we could meet on the 'secret' deck#7 AFT area.

Each person, please email or PM someone from our group of cruisers that you have never been in contact with before. Tell them a little something about yourself or your family that you haven't posted on our thread. I think it would be great for the kids to get in on this too --- especially if they can find someone in their age group that they haven't been in contact with in the past. Feel free to contact a few people if you'd like.

After you have been in contact with someone new -- post back here and tell us who you have met!

Remember to check your PM's throughout the week!

Hopefully we'll spend some time in the clubs.

We'll check them all out.

We'll be in the sun by the pool or taking in one of the learning activities offered onboard.

Thanks Jody - the lanyards look great - received them on Friday and the "check is in the mail"!

Got our documents and we're getting close to our date but the closer we get the more "overwhelmed" I'm feeling. Trying not to overpack for once (one of my vacation planning weaknesses - clothes I never wear) and what about shoes - yikes I could conceivably bring at least half a dozen and that's just me - add another 6 pairs for Molly and we'll sink the boat.

Any helpful hints?

Despite the overwhelming feeling - I CAN'T WAIT TO ESCAPE FROM IT ALL!!!!!

Copy and Paste the questions below in to a reply -- replace my answers with yours!

When did you book your Disney Cruise? Month/Year: I believe it was May 2001 -- right after we returned from our April 2001 trip.

How and When did you find the DIS Boards? Feb.2001 I did a search for DCL and came upon Barb and Tony's website -- they sent me in the direction of the DIS Boards and I found my new hobby (or addicition as it may be!).

Have you found any other websites helpful in planning your Disney Cruise? I recommend Barb and Tony's website as well as 'Dave's' quite often -- they both have very valuable info!

How far are you in the packing fase? Well, we picked up the suitcases at my parents last night -- but not certain that they will all fit in to the van?????? OH NO!!!

I need your help --- list one question that we can use for next weeks getting to know you.... Ummmm, I can't answer THIS one because I need YOUR help!:p

Did you meet anyone 'new' during last weeks getting to know you challenge? myjeep93's family for the first time -- see my post above.

Dodie

We got our "loot" on Friday too. Thanks, Jody. My return envelope is on its way!

When did you book your Disney Cruise? Early January. I had surgery in November and DH had surgery in December: We had just about "had it" by January and decided we needed to treat ourselves! We got a pretty good deal with Springtime Magic, but would have done much better if we had gotten an early booking discount too.

How and When did you find the DIS Boards? I've been on the DIS since February 1999. My registration date shows up as November 1999, but that is because the boards had a major crash and we had to reregister. (Guess I'm an oldtimer, LOL.)

Have you found any other websites helpful in planning your Disney Cruise? I have enjoyed Barb and Tony's website and Dave's quite a bit. I also printed the Magical Cruise Guide (http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/entropym/pages/) for DH, who is not a computer person. He read it straight through one evening. There's a lot of good info there too.

How far are you in the packing fase? Mostly "planning" for packing. Have the strategy and the suitcases planned out. Beginning to buy some of the little take-alongs (like waterproof cameras, film, and fresh sunscreen.)

I need your help --- list one question that we can use for next weeks getting to know you.... I think questions about packing, what we're packing, what kind of clothes we're taking for casual/formal nights, how many bathing suits, little stuff others may forget, etc.

Thanks so much for doing all of this, Jody! When DH saw the leis, etc., he kind of made a face... "Computer geeks finding one another onboard, ARRGH." But then even he actually admitted it was a pretty good idea!

Hello all 4-20 cruisers,

Packing is going very well. My DW is awesome and keeping us on target. Everyday we think of other things to bring. now on to the questions:

St Marteen: Golden Catamaran with the four kids

St Thomas: Open...either Maden Bay or Trunk Bay on our own

Castaway Cay: DS (13) hanging out with teens and the rest of us snorkeling and relaxing.

We are from manchester, NH. Our school vacation week is a week after everyone else, and I guess that is why there are so may wonderful Granite Staters on this cruise.
Go Red Sox!

I think I answered last weeks questions instead of this weeks. So here goes this weeks, I hope:

WHEN DID YOU BOOK YOUR CRUISE?

We booked last July after coming home from a Disney Deluxe package vacation. That was just foy my Dw and me, so we thought we better take our four kids on the next big vacation. They decided on the cruise.

HOW AND WHEN DID YOU FIND DID BOARDS?

I found these wonderful boards last spring when looking for info on WDW for our June 2001 vacation. I believe it was a link from WDWIG.com, which is also excellent.

ANY OTHER HELPFUL WEBSITES?

We love the Barb and Tony site. We actually printed it and it was 61 pages. WOW!! It is a wealth of info.

Also we have a 13 yr old boy who seems a little apprehensive about Common Grounds. It would be great if he could e-mail any teens that are in our little group here.

my e-mail is inmyis@aol.com

Thanks

When did you book you cruise?
In January of this year.

How and when did you find dis boards?
Found cruise critic bd first. Then I e-mailed Jody about 4/20 and she gave me all these sites to check out! Thanks again, Jody!

Haven't found any other helpful sites, except those already mentioned.

Haven't started packing yet, because I'm still sick. But, I started making my lists! Kids have to try on warm weather clothes to see what still fits from last year! We had some growth spurts over the winter, I'm afraid. A bit more shopping to do, but I don't
mind!

As for next weeks question, how about one about shopping on the islands? Are you buying liquor, jewelry, clothes, souveniers, etc.? Or window shopping?

Since we're getting down to our last leg (per-se') how about some new questions for the weekend.... (still answer 'this weeks' questions if you hadn't done so yet):

Are you celebrating any special occasions while on board the ship? Hubby and I are celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary on 4/24!;)

Explain the meaning of your DIS Username: 'wovenwonder' - my first ever message board was for Longaberger Basket collectors. I wanted a 'basket sounding' name and thus came up with wovenwonder. It has stuck by me on all other boards since then!

How will I know you when I see you in the Port (describe your family): Ummmm, I'll have on a green leis (I guess that narrows it down to 100 or so people anyway - LOL). I am a 'very plus-sized' woman with brown hair, blue eyes. Hubby is average height/weight with brown hair, and glasses. Two teen girls and one teen boy by my side.:D

Look for 'packing questions' coming soon!

If anyone has IM -- I have newly signed up and my screen name is 'castawaymagic'. Kids are kidding me that I have no friends as BHNJ (camille) is the only one on my buddy list!

Are you celebrating any special occasions while on board the ship? Just a well-deserved, much-needed vacation!

Explain the meaning of your DIS Username: It is actually my name - or - more correctly - the name by which I have always gone. It's really a nickname for my real name.

How will I know you when I see you in the Port (describe your family): It will just be DH and I, wearing our green leis, LOL. I have short brownish red hair and DH has dark brown hair (what there is of it, LOL).

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary, Jody!

When did you book your Disney Cruise? Month/Year: It was the beginning of May 2001 -- right after we returned from our April 2001 trip.

How and When did you find the DIS Boards? June 2000 when I was researching DVC. When I began to plan the cruise I went back to see if they had a cruise board as well.

Have you found any other websites helpful in planning your Disney Cruise? I also enjoy Barb and Tony's and Dave's.

Packing: Just starting to group the sundry things and finish last minute shopping.

Possible ? Was there something you needed on a past cruise and was unable to purchase onboard? I seem to remember that the over the counter med section was rather small in the gift shop.

Have a great weekend!

Are you celebrating any special occasions while on board the ship? Husband and I celebrating our 19th anniversary on 4/23.

Explain the meaning of your DIS Username: Don't really remember - the first time I signed on Eric made it up.

How will I know you when I see you in the Port (describe your family): Ummmm, I'll have on a green leis (I guess that narrows it down to 100 or so people anyway - LOL). Well us too with the green leis. We'll be real easy to spot.
I am "Pleasingly plump - sort of blondish hair - mid height.
Husband is 6ft 1 in and almost bald.
Now -here is the real way to spot us - I am white - husband Frank is black and Eric is in the middle. We'll stand out - no worry.

Jody - I collect Longaberger baskets - have at least 30 of them. Tell me about your collection.

To everyone with teenage children - you would probably appreciate this - of course as parents everything we do is strange. Eric has named all of on this board the lanyard people since we're all get lanyards. So if any of your kids call you that - blame me.:)

Jody - I have PM at home - can give you the address but I rarely get much computer time and don't really know how to use PM. I'll ask Eric to help. (sad that I have to get advice from a 14yr old!!;)

After I booked, my sister and a friend of hers decided to join us - but we haven't told my mother/daughter that she's coming along. Also, never told my mother that I booked a room with a verandah - figured this might be her last cruise and we might as well go for it! She's expecting just a porthole.

Explain the meaning of your DIS Username: chickabug - my daughter's nickname when she was a baby

How will I know you when I see you in the Port: I will have a 6 yr. old 100 feet in front of me - racing because of her excitement and an 80 yr. old 100 feet behind me, because she has to go slow - and I will be in the middle trying to keep an eye on the both of them. You might also notice us if my mother faints from the surprise of seeing my sister and we have to call the paramedics :) . Seriously, I am pretty average looking, with glasses, my 6 yr. old is tall for her age and has long hair and beautiful eyes and my mother looks like an 80 yr. old!

Are you celebrating any special occaisions on the ship? My son Tommy will turn 8 on 4/22. I have to pack all of his presents! Also, my dh was just promoted to Battalion Chief in the NYC Fire Department, and we are sooo proud of him! I'd kind of like to surprise him, too! SSSHHH!

Explain the meaning of your dis username. My initials. I know, boring.

My almost 8yo ds and my 10yo dd are the same height w/ blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm "blonde" too and dh used to be! My dh may not be wearing his green lei, so I might wear 2 of them! He'll be trying to walk away from us!

Hello All,

My good friends just got back foem WDW and after talking with them I am even more excited to go.

ARE YOU CELEBRATING ANY SPECIAL OCCASSIONS ON THE CRUISE?
Just enjoying our very first cruise.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF YOUR USER NAME?
DW and my son is "Beautiful, In My Eyes" by Joshua Kadison.
inmyis means in my I's(eyes). It is also our aol address and on the plates of my van.

HOW WILL I KNOW YOU WHEN I SEE YOU IN PORT?
We will have the green leis. (Haven't received yet , but I am sure they are on the way). I am 5'7" brown hair and eyes, Janet is 5' with reddish hair and bright blue eyes. My mother in law is in her early 60s. We have four kids, Josh is 13 with blonde hair, Troy is 11, Travis is 9. They both have brown hair, And Samantha is 9 and has light brown hair. We will probably be a little travel weary as we fly into Tampa that morning (got a great rate) and renting a van to drive across Florida.

Possible questions: Will you be usiong the refillable mug program for yourself or the kids?

Evee: Although we live here in New hampshire , we wanted to let you know that we too are proud of your dh accomplishments.

Are you celebrating any special occasions while on board the ship? Just getting away from our normal routine is celebration enough for me!!

Explain the meaning of your DIS Username: It's the initials our town, Berkeley Heights and the state - NJ

How will I know you when I see you in the Port (describe your family): Green leis for all four of us (even Brianna). Seriously, I am about 5'4" brown hair and eyes and my husband has all prematurely grey hair. My 13 yr old daughter and 17 yr old son will be around somewhere too.
See Jody, I got it done ;)

So, How many pair of shoes are YOU packing? I am so proud to have it narrowed down to 4 ---- but with 5 people, that would still make 20 pair!

Will you be purchasing the refillable mug program for anyone in your family? Not positive yet --- but probably. We purchased 2 last year and they were very handy to have. I still am bringing a 'water bottle' to keep filled with ice and water from the deck #9 bev. station though.

What kind of items will you be looking to purchase on the islands?I don't have anything in particular in mind -- BUT I highly doubt that I will leave empty handed either.

What are your wardrobe plans for formal, semi formal and island nights? I will have on a pants outfit for formal and semi formal nights -- and hubby and ds will be wearing a suit -- DD and DF will have on gowns. Probably do island shopping in St.Maarten.

Any packing hints?? Items you won't leave home without, etc. I will be bringing my entire medicine chest --- so don't visit the ships doctor == just look for me!! My hint for this year -- is to bring half of what I did last year!

What are the Children/Teens/Young Adults in our group most looking forward to on the cruise? Colby is looking forward to common grounds for the first time this year. Shelby is happy to be experiencing the cruise experience with a friend who has never cruised before - and also looking forward to checking out the adult only areas as she is of age now! Oh, and they just CANNOT wait for the chance to wear those leis on embarkation day! (LOL).

THis weeks questions -
So, How many pair of shoes are YOU packing? Have not even started packing yet. It is so cold up here in NH I can't bear to pull my sweats off to try on shorts. It should be warmer this week and I'm off on Friday so we'll probably get to it then. Will probably have at least 4 - sneakers - dress shoes - casual shoes - sandals.

Will you be purchasing the refillable mug program for anyone in your family? Probably not. We'll stop before boarding the ship and buy some soda. I just know that Eric would leave it somewhere and I basically drink just water. We are bringing Frank's ESPN mug from last year however - that is very important.

What kind of items will you be looking to purchase on the islands?Last year I got a nice ring in St Thomas - think I'll look for another piece of jewelry but this time in St Martin.

What are your wardrobe plans for formal, semi formal and island nights? I have two fancy dresses (have to watch my eating or they won't fit!!) A bright flowery dress for island night. Suits for husband. Can't get Eric into a suit but at Wal-Mart the other night we found Mickey Mouse ties and got one for each of them.

Any packing hints?? I'm with Jody on the medicine cabinet. We did make a trip to the doctor while on the Enchantment several years ago and want to avoid it (It was not a bad experience, just wasted time!) Also zip loc bags to bring home some of those wonderful chocolate chip cookies - course if I eat too many - my dresses will never fit.

What are the Children/Teens/Young Adults in our group most looking forward to on the cruise? Eric is hoping to see a few of the same kids from last year - don't know about that but we'll see. He is just looking forward to time to be with kids and not with "Boring, old parents" The only time we see him is at dinner for a short time and while he is sleeping.

Finally getting around to answering some questions...

ARE YOU CELEBRATING ANY SPECIAL OCCASSIONS ON THE CRUISE?
Like a few of us - our wedding anniversary: 20 Years!!!! (actually it's in October but we're celebrating all year!)

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF YOUR USER NAME?
Well there's only the 3 of us and we do everything together and since we love Disney (DVC members since 1996) we thought the 3Disneyteers was quite fittting.

HOW WILL I KNOW YOU WHEN I SEE YOU IN PORT?
We will be wearing the green leis - how unique!! I'm 5'2, blue eyes, glasses and brown shoulder length hair (with those unique highlights you get after being married for 20 years LOL!) - DH is 5'10, green eyes and brown hair and DD has the biggest blue eyes and long golden brown hair. She'll be the one jumping up and down!

WILL YOU BE PURCHASING THE REFILLABLE MUG PROGRAM FOR ANYONE IN YOUR FAMILY?
We also booked our trip through AAA and realized they gave us the mugs for free.

WHAT KIND OF ITEMS WILL YOU BE LOOKING TO PURCHASE ON THE ISLANDS?
Since this is the first time to any island for us - we have no idea - going with an open mind.

WHAT ARE YOU WARDROBE FOR FORMAL, SEMI-FORMAL, AND ISLAND NIGHTS?
Our 8 yr old DD has two pretty new dresses she has agreed to wear (this is a kid who loves jeans and tees); I have a black cocktail dress for one night and a silver twin set with a black long skirt for the other - DH is wearing a black suit. Oh my gosh - Island night!!! Haven't even thought about that!

.ANY PACKING HINTS?
Yes, don't bring your entire wardrobe! I'm the worst when it comes to overpacking!

What are the Children/Teens/Young Adults in our group most looking forward to on the cruise?
Our DD is looking forward to checking out the Oceaneers Lab with the other 8 years old and just hanging out with Mom and Dad!

Is it time to go yet!!! Work is a nightmare - I NEED A VACATION!!!

So, How many pair of shoes are YOU packing?
I am down to four pairs. Tennies, sandals, beach shoes, and formal shoes

Will you be purchasing the refillable mug program for anyone in your family?
We've gone back and forth about this. I'm not a pop drinker, but DH can be. We're taking big refillable insulated water bottles and some lemonade mix for him. We'll be hitting that water stand frequently.

What kind of items will you be looking to purchase on the islands?
Haven't thought about it. Maybe something tropical for tropical night.

What are your wardrobe plans for formal, semi formal and island nights?
DH is bringing his tux and a suit.
I have a sequined top and long black skirt for formal night and a silk pantsuit for semi-formal night.

Any packing hints?? Items you won't leave home without, etc.
I've set aside the above mentioned water bottles and lemonade mix; water proof cameras (2); regular camera; cruise docs; passports; sunscreen; green leis and DIS lanyards so far.

What are the Children/Teens/Young Adults in our group
most looking forward to on the cruise?
No kiddies for us! I could, however, count DH in this category. He is most looking forward to parasailing on Castaway Cay.

JAN ENOS

First: Are we celebrating anything special on the cruise?
Well, just being away is celebration enough, but it will be our 31st anniversary in June so we will celebrate that!

Second, How did you choose your user name? I chose Grandma Jan because I have three precious granddaughters and I live
to be a grandma.

Third: How will I know you when I see you? Well, I am over
5' 8" tall with blond hair and average build. My dh has grey hair
(what is left of it) and is on the stocky side. We will have 3
beautiful little girls with us ages 19 months, 4 years and 6 years.
My daughter and son-in-law will also be with us.

Will you purchase the refillable mug program? Yes, at least one for the girls.

What kind of items are you looking to purchase on the islands?
Whatever strikes my fancy and of course, things for the girls!

What are you plans for formal, semi formal and tropical night?
Formal night I will have a long navy gown and DH will wear a
suit. My three little girls will have matching kimonos from China (
because my husband just came back from a business trip there and brought them all one back) On semi-formal night I will just wear a blue suit dress and for tropical night I bought a very
colorful short dress that is way out of character for me.

Any packing hints? Yes, follow everyone elses advice!

Jan

Jan, I bet your Granddaughters are going to look sooooo cute in their Kimono's -- I hope I have a chance to see them. Knock on my door on your way to dinner to see if I'm there.;)

I started to pack today!! And I actually got most of it done --- and have made my last minute shopping lists. BUT, I know that I have packed way too much, but just cannot take anything out for fear I might wish I had it! And I was sooooo certain that I was going to pack the bare minimum.

How many pair of shoes are YOU packing?
I think I have it down to 5 but you never know. I have 4 days of US shopping to do on our drive down.

Will you be purchasing the refillable mug program for
anyone in your family?
Likely will buy one for someone. Actually not sure who but I know we will bring water bottles with us from home too.

What kind of items will you be looking to purchase on the
islands?
Likely not too much unless something grabs our attention. We have been there a few times before. Likely something for the tropical night. One can never have too many tropical shirts...especially living here!!!

What are your wardrobe plans for formal, semi formal
and island nights?
Something that doesn't resemble work clothes for either of us and my dd has a different dress for every day and more. She is so excited about dressing up.

Any packing hints??
Twice as much money and half the clothes.

Celebrating any special occasions?
Just the fact that we are all healthy and able to travel together as a family. That is special enough for us.

How did you choose your user name?
My initial and last name..boring..eh?

How will I know you when I see you?
I'm 5'7'', short brown curly hair (I think, I go to the hairdresser next week maybe it's time for a change!!), dh is 5'11" black hair and both of us are pleasantly plump!! DD is a beautiful bouncing straight brown haired 6 year old and my inlaws are two wonderful 60 year olds...Nannie will be boucing as high as dd...Grampy will be sauntering along. Of course we will be wearing the green leis and lanyards. (Jody we received them today thanks!!!)

What are the Children/Teens/Young Adults in our group
most looking forward to on the cruise?
Haley is looking forward to the Kids Club and the pool. She keeps asking how many more sleeps until her feet are on the ship and she can push daddy in the pool.

A week from today and we are on the road!!!! YIPEEE

ARE YOU CELEBRATING ANY SPECIAL OCCASSIONS ON THE CRUISE?
Yes, my DH's 41st birthday!

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF YOUR USER NAME?
It's just wishful thinking.

HOW WILL I KNOW YOU WHEN I SEE YOU IN PORT?
We will be wearing the green leis, but with another family who will not be wearing them.

WILL YOU BE PURCHASING THE REFILLABLE MUG PROGRAM FOR ANYONE IN YOUR FAMILY?
No, we're addicted to Diet Pepsi and will be carrying some onboard.

WHAT KIND OF ITEMS WILL YOU BE LOOKING TO PURCHASE ON THE ISLANDS?
Probably just the changing color nail polish if we venture away from the beach and into town.

WHAT ARE YOU WARDROBE FOR FORMAL, SEMI-FORMAL, AND ISLAND NIGHTS?
Our 7 yr old DD has a dress picked out for every night, mine is the basic black dress and DH is wearing a suit.

.ANY PACKING HINTS?
Only bring what you really like. I really need to get started, but at least the suitcases are in the hall!

What are the Children/Teens/Young Adults in our group most looking forward to on the cruise?
Our DD is looking forward to some of the activities in the Oceanears's club and swimming.

How many pairs of shoes? 4-5 for me, 3 for dh, 4 for dd and 3 for ds. Wow, that is alot of shoes!

Will we purchase the refillable soda mugs? Probably not. My kids are not big soda drinkers. Since they will get soda in the DR with dinner, I don't think they would drink $35 worth between them.

What kinds of items will we be looking to purchase on the islands? Not sure yet, but I love a bargain!

Wardrobe plans? If dh wears a tux, I have a black & white gown I'll wear. If not, I have a cocktail dess instead. Semi-formal, I'm not sure yet. Dh will wear a suit. DD will wear a long skirt and ds will wear his first Communion Suit(which takes place one week after we return!) He better not spill anything! I thought it would be nice for family pictures.

Any packing hints? Night light for bathroom- I heard it's too bright in there! Extra hangers. I always tie a scarf or put a sticker on our luggage to make it easier to identify. Although we're not flying this time, when we have to retrieve or bags at the end of the trip, many people have the same black luggage set that we bought at Costco! It just makes it easier to spot.--

My kids will be looking forward to no school and making new friends!

HOW MANY SHOES?
Being a man I can't believe how many shoes I need, never mind my DW. I wil be bringing 4, dress, casual, sneaks, sandals. My DW is up to six, I think. Three boys are at three each, and our DD is at 4. Oh My God! WE will be bringing 23 pair of shoes and that doesn't include my MIL!

WILL YOU BEPURCHASING THE REFILLABLE MUG PROGRAM?
We have changed our minds a number times on this. I think we will get a cuple mugs as I drink diet soda and the kids like soda now and then.

WHAT KINDS OF ITEMS WILL YOU BE LOOKING TO PURCHASE ON THE ISLANDS?
My wife always looks at jewelry, but other than that we will just seeif anything catches our eye.

WARDROBE FOR FORMAL/SEMI-FORMAL NIGHTS TROPICAL NIGHT?
I have my suit and new pants and shirts. My DW has a number of nice dresses. We even got our DD to wear dresses for dinner. pants and nice shirts for boys. We all have fun tropical shirts for Tropical party.

ANY PACKING TIPS?
I feel we are pcking the entire house and I don't think I will do any laundry on the ship. After reading these boards we decided to bring an over the door shoe rack (only $7.99 at Target), extension cord for hair dryer for DW, and bight lights.

WHAT ARE CHILDREN/TEENS LOOKING FORWARD TO?
The three younger ones (9,9,11) are looking forward to the clubs, shows and just seeing the ship. Our 13 yr old DS is playing it pretty cool so I am anxious to see what really excites him.

:bounce: :Pinkbounc I am SOOOO ready to go!!

Did the sorting, laundry, try-stuff-on, decide what to take thing this weekend. My living room (the packing "staging area";)) is strewn from one end to the other with stuff.

Now I need to go back and eliminate about 1/3 of the clothes I have laid out. I need to remind myself that I can wear the same pair of shorts more than once and that tops can be interchanged as well. I do NOT need 7 different shorts outfits, do I?

I am beginning to psych myself up for the plane ride. I am a very bad flyer. I have to take Xanax to get anywhere near the airport. We are flying down Friday morning, checking into the Dolphin, and spending the afternoon and evening at my favorite park: EPCOT! Hi All!

I think most of us planned this cruise well in advance and never thought it would actually arrive - well kids - it's here!!!

And for those of us not yet ready - we're running out of time. My once pretty living room now looks like a chaotic rummage sale! Have vowed not to be packing at midnight on Friday as we have a 6:40am flight out of the Lehigh Valley.

We have a connecting flight in Atlanta and hope that we have no foul ups!!! So if you have any spare pixie dust - send it our way.

Am already in vacation mode at work and everyone knows I'm going on vacation so why am I getting dumped with projects - go figure!! But as of 5:00PM on Thursday afternoon - I'M ON VACATION!!!

Really looking forward to meeting everyone and will be on the look out for those green leis!

Just one more thing - LET US ALL HAVE A SAFE TRIP DOWN TO OUR ADVENTURE WHETHER WE'RE FLYING OR DRIVING!!!

I'm so excited - am feeling like a little kid again!!!

See you in a few! (thought I'd never get a chance to say that)

Looking forward to meeting all of you- esp. at the Sailaway Party.....just a few more days till we are experiencing that Disney magic once again!! Everyone have a safe trip! 3Disneyteers we also have a connecting flight in Atlanta- isn't that funny- we are slated to arrive in Orlando at 10:13am. You should see my bedroom- I have so much stuff all over the floor and suitcases spread open will try and make sense of things today as I am off. Can't wait!!

I can't believe it is finally here! Packing is done and I think my DW did a great job. I kept saying we would need tons of luggage for the six of us, but she got us into 4 suitcases and one large and one small carry on. We packed together and I would watch in amazement on what she could fit intp a small suitcase. She is the best!

Questions:

WHAT CAREER ARE YOU LEAVING BEHIND?
I am a paraprofessional finishing up my teaching certification. My wife collects on defaulted student loans. Watch out, shes good at it.

FAVORITE DISNEY CHARACTER?
DW loves Tigger. More and more it's Mickey for me.

FAVORITE DISNEY SONG?
"Out There" from Hunchback. It's great on DVD

FAVORITE DISNEY MOVIE?
"Lion King" or "Beauty and the Beast" I loved the broadway version of "Beauty" even better than the movie.

See you guys soon!!

Jody...the check was mailed and hopefully you will get it before you leave, if not it will be waiting at your house on your return.

Who would have expected 90 degrees in the the northeast in April? Now my kids are wearing shorts and summer clothes that should be in the siutcases! More laundry and packing! I'm just trying to get all the loose ends tied up with the pets. One friend is keeping the dog. Another will let the cat in and out each day and feed her and the goldfish. My kids are going to school 1/2 day on Thursday and we leave from there. We got the TV/VCR/Playstation hooked up in the minivan. I hope we don't hit too much traffic on I-95. We're staying at the Radisson at the Port on Friday. Anyone else? Well, I better get back to work! Looking forward to the sailaway party!

See you all soon!

Jody - Glad to hear you all arrived safely!

When I was a kid and living on Staten Island (NY) - 7 of us would pile into a station wagon and drive down to the west coast of Floriday (Venice) to see my grandparents - did that for the first 16 years of my life - that is why I will NEVER EVER drive to Florida again!!!!

We fly out tomorrow at 6:40 am - am off today as I still have a million things to do!! But who cares as I am officially on VACATION!!!

See you guys tomorrow - can you believe that!!!
