I'll have to dig deep into my vast vault of Disney knowledge to say -- none, it's not built with stone at all.
So very happy to see this pop up today -- I've missed it!
But...I worked so hard to fabricate that question!:upsidedow
Good to see you cabanafrau!
Let's get some REAL questions going! (haha...wow...I'm killing myself today:laughing: :sad2: )

Welcome CountryTink! Good to have you here!

Well, this is about as real a question as I can come up with at the moment. Guess my "vast vault of Disney knowledge" isn't.
Originally WDW had what was known as a STOLport. What was it used for for several years -- and what is it used for now?
disneycruise05
09-03-2008, 01:18 AM
I know they've used the STOLport as a staging area for buses...but I'm not sure if that was a past use or the current one. It was originally used as an airport...a Short Take-Off and Landing port, actually. Disney envisioned a port for guests to travel directly to WDW, as opposed to MCO. I also believe the STOLport was built early enough that executives used it to fly into WDW during construction. I could be wrong, however.
So....final answer: the STOLport was used as an airport, then as a bus parking lot.

wagster92, I'll take a lazy swing at that one and say Walt Disney. Probably wrong, but I've had a long day of work with a 5 hour commute to Texas and six + hours of work.
Sandy;
Yes, the Parks Game thread was used to escape the horrors of 9/11. I remember first finding it about a week after it started and "meeting" WDWoldtimer, Higgs, you, DisneyJen, Madonna, etc. There was one point where we would go through 15-20 pages in a day! That was back when they limited each thread to 150 pages max, so that's how we ended up with "Part 13".

Too bad threads aren't like that anymore, I discovered an acient thread that was started when this site was first put up, it went through the 150 page limit several times and was at like 500+ when I last looked at it a year ago, unfortunately I think it died out.

Jen - that wasn't aimed at you. It was for Wagster's remark about old timers :lmao:
I display that as a badge of honor. Btw, some of the old WDWWDS crowd are still around. The only one I lost track of is OT.
Patiently waiting for plutopup to wake up and ask the next question.

I think wagster92 is on to something. Isn't there a wall in Canada that can be seen from throughout World Showcase. I think they put some type of facade on it to blend in with the Canadian theme.
If I remember correctly, I think theres a waterfall somewhere close to that wall to cover up the sound the generator makes

Really? I thought he dropped out of sight?
Keep guessing guys. It wasn't something that was covered up - more an extension of the onstage appearance to a backstage area. I learned this on the Keys to the Kingdom tour.
Hint: it had to do with something being added after the disguised attraction had already been built.
Remember to put your questions in bold so that they can easily be spotted.

There is one backstage area of the World Showcase that had to be covered up. Where is it, what was done and why?
Not sure I'm correct because of the Boardwalk clue, but I'm going to say the Tower of Terror, which is high enough to be seen from WS, but doesn't technically face it. The facade was covered in such a way that it wouldn't stick out, but rather blend into the look of the Moroccan pavilion.

A little refresher on the rules:
You may ask a question after correctly answering a question and being awarded an AAQ (Ask A Question) card.
Questions should be in bold to allow us to follow the game more easily.
Lurking is okay, but it’s a lot more fun to jump in and guess! There is no punishment for wrong answers here!!
Questions should be focused on the four WDW theme parks in order to maintain our place on this board. A continued thank you to the moderators for allowing this game to continue for more than 3 years
