I asked this over in the craft forum, but haven't had any responses, so I thought I'd ask here too, just in case someone has done this already and has a suggestion.....

I'm trying to make a bag for my parent's 40 anniversary. The bag is black, has 6 pockets for photos and the closest I can guess is that it is made out of nylon. On the back of the bag I am trying to adhere a picture that Michelle designed for me. I tried using transfer paper, but I can't get the bag hot enough to transfer the picture because of the photo pockets on the front.

Any other suggestions!?!?!?!? Are there any glues that adhere to nylon? If so, I could always print it on photo paper, laminate and then glue it. Or is there a cloth "transfer" paper that I can run through my printer?

(here's a link to a similiar looking bag)

Thanks for any and all suggestions! Hoping someone has tried this before and had success!

They do make cloth transfer paper that you would just sew (or glue) one, then you could edge it with fabric paint or something,

I would think that the type of bag that is wouldn't let you iron any transfer on to it... would probably melt the bag before the design would come out.

Could also just iron the transfer on to a black piece of fabric (or any color for that matter), then either sew or use wonder-under (fusible interfacing) to adhere it to the bag.. then finish the edges with paint, etc.

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks Michelle,

I just got back from Wlmart. THey had a product called fabric-stick, adhesive-back inkjet fabric sheets. It says it will work on nylon, vinyl, plastic, etc. I'll let ya know how it turns out!
