View Full Version : Gameboy damage?
I have heard that the metal detectors at airports are causing damage to Gameboys. Does anyone know if this is true? or had been through security with a Gameboy and it came out fine?

We have flown with the girls gameboy's at least 10 times over the past few years and they are just fine.

My DH the products liability lawyer won't allow them (or the larger game sets) in the house because the design of the controllers causes carpal tunnel syndrome in frequent players.

Just went through the airport metal detectors twice (Atlanta and Denver) in the last week- no damage to the Gameboy Advance.

Only if you allow the metal detector to fall smack on the GameBoy!!
No, there is absolutely no risk of damage otherwise...
Unless the airport security rent-a-goon operating the machine decides to "examine it further" by trying to take off the back...
After all, we need to be sure that 6 to 10 year olds do not attempt to smuggle "plastique" onboard inside the device...
In this day and age of increased security, airport security bimbos need to start using common sense and stop frisking and searching kids and the elderly...
'Nough said, I'll retreat to my new Escalade that I purchased for my WDW jaunts. Flying will be relegated to the "less desireable" mode of travel until they improve airport operations in post 9/11 periods...
