wow! wonderpeeps part II! good thing we only have 5 1/2 months to go! a new thread should hold us, right (or at least until TZM finds himself out here all alone again & spends the evening talking to himself)!:rotfl:

SueEllen - we are very fortunate - we have a Chipotle over in the Kentlands which is about 1/2 mi. from my office and we have another one in Gaithersburg which is about 4 mi. from our home!! So, yes, it's almost TOO convenient!:goodvibes My DS usually does 1 or 2 carnitas tacos and a cheese quesadilla or 2 of those and 1 taco. He doesn't want to "upgrade" to a bowl yet! I will do a happy dance when he does! But then, he's not much of an eater EVER unless it's my scrambled egg sandwiches that he loves!:lovestruc

ok. too much tequilla last nite...Cheri are you talkin' 'bout salsa with habaneros? been there! done that!:goodvibes

My brain came up with a couple of ideas  yesterday...yeah, yeah, that's rare...news flash!:rolleyes1 Now I need to figure out what to DO with the ideas!

new version of web site almost done. You'll have to think to figure out the matching Peeps (heh heh heh) and we have brand new stars:cheer2: . There is most likely a new address as Time Warner migrated my site from Adelphia without telling me (they are so helpful).

off to get Expedition towed to dealer. Horses couldn't have been this much trouble. But then there was that whole carrying water part so nevre mind I guess.

Katie: you can spank 'cuz you is a Moder-erator. And is Sue Ellen come to think of it.:scared:

There will be no spanking. Except for Betsy. She likes it.;)

:cool2: leetle fast white car still in garage but have to have "field trip" and "go to airport" car. Turns out it's just the battery. AAA put a new one in. Only $150. Better than $275 at the dealer. :woohoo:

The powers that be seem to think that the boards will run faster if the servers don't have to load several long threads. I'm not sure how many there are but that's what they're saying so we got all locked up. All of our secrets locked away:cool2:

SueEllen
02-04-2008, 09:35 PM
If you people didn't talk so darn much we wouldn't have to have a 2nd thread :teeth:
:rotfl:

They are checking out a few options to see if the longer threads (over 10,000 posts) are an issue with the board speeds.

I guess I'm allowed to spank on this board (watch out) but I usually opt not too. You guys are too much fun to have to discipline (that and that too many of you might like a spanking.)

I'm sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea
I've got to be free, free to face the life that's ahead of me
On board, I'm the captain, so climb aboard
We'll search for tomorrow on every shore
And I'll try, oh Lord, I'll try
To carry on

I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory
Some happy, some sad
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had
We live happily forever, so the story goes
But somehow we missed out on that pot of gold
But we'll try best that we can to carry on

A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said
They said come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me lads
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me

I thought that they were angels, but to my surprise
They climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies
Singing come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me

Babe, tomorrow's so far away
There's somethin' I just have to say
I don't think I could hide
What I feel inside another day
Knowin' I love you

And I, I'm getting' too close again
I don't wanna see it end
If I tell you tonight
Would you turn out the lights and walk away
Knowin' I love you

I'm gonna take you by surprise
And make you realize, Amanda
I'm gonna tell you right away
I can't wait another day, Amanda
I'm gonna say it like a man
And make you understand, Amanda
I love you

And I feel like today's the day
I'm lookin' for the words to say
Do you wanna be free
Are you ready for me to feel this way
I don't wanna lose ya

So it may be too soon, I know
The feelin' takes so long to grow
If I tell you today
Will you turn me away and let me go
I don't wanna lose you

I'm gonna take you by surprise
And make you realize, Amanda
I'm gonna tell you right away
I can't wait another day, Amanda
I'm gonna say it like a man
And make you understand, Amanda (oh girl)

You and I, I know that we can't wait
And I swear, I swear it's not a lie girl
Tomorrow may be too late
You, you and I girl
We can share a life together
It's now or never
And tomorrow may be too late

And feelin' the way I do
I don't wanna wait my whole life through
To say I'm in love with you

I was ridin' shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car
He's got a one-hand feel on the steering wheel
The other on my heart
I look around, turn the radio down
He says baby is something wrong?
I say nothing I was just thinking how we don't have a song
And he says...

Our song is the slamming screen door
Sneaking out late, tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow
'Cause it's late and his mama don't know
Our song is the way he laughs
The first date "man, I didn't kiss him, and I should have"
And when I got home, 'fore I said amen
Asking God if he could play it again

I was walking up the front porch steps after everything that day
Had gone all wrong and been trampled on
And lost and thrown away
Got to the hallway, well on my way to my lovin' bed
I almost didn't notice all the roses
And the note that said...

Our Song is the slamming screen door
Sneakin' out late, tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow
'Cause it's late and your mama don't know
Our song is the way you laugh
The first date "Man, I didn't kiss her, and I should have"
And when I got home, 'fore I said amen
Asking God if he could play it again

I've heard every album listened to the radio
Waiting for something to come along that was as good as our song...

'Cause our song is the slamming screen door
Sneaking out late, tapping on his window
When we're on the phone and he talks real slow
'Cause it's late and his mama don't know
Our song is the way he laughs
The first date "man, I didn't kiss him, and I should have"
And when I got home, 'fore I said amen
Asking God if he could play it again

Play it again, play it again
oh yeah uh huh yeah

I was riding shotgun with my hair undone
In the front seat of his car
I grabbed a pen and an old napkin
And I, wrote down our song

Woke up this morning, feeling fine
There's something special on my mind
Last night I met a new girl in the neighborhood
Whoa yeah
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something good)

She's the kind of girl who's not too shy
And I could tell I'm her kind of guy
She danced close to me like I hoped she would
(She danced with me like I hoped she would)
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something good)

We only danced for a minute or two
But then she stuck close to me the whole night through
Can I be falling in love
She's everything I've been dreaming of
She's everything I've been dreaming of

I walked her home and she held my hand
I knew it couldn't be just a one-night stand
So I asked to see her next week and she told me I could
(I asked to see her and she told me I could)
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)
(Something tells me I'm into something)

I walked her home and she held my hand
I knew it couldn't be just a one-night stand
So I asked to see her next week and she told me I could
(I asked to see her and she told me I could)
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)
To something good, oh yeah, something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)

It's at Parkhopper's 'pin palace' It's in a business area on Crabb's Branch Way (Rockville is the actual address I believe.)
It starts at 1:00 and goes until everyone leaves. He's been doing these for years (I think since 2000) I remember going to these while I was pregnant with Trevor which was in 2001.
I'll definitely be up there with the kids. Steve will be working so it will just be the three of us. You should come.

:goodvibes LOL...I know exactly where you mean - those are my old stomping grounds...DH & I lived in a townhouse off Shady Grove Rd. YEARS ago before we were married (Crabs Branch intersects with Shady Grove) and DH used to work in an office building on the corner of Crabs Branch & Redland Road). You could almost probably take the metro. ANYWAY, there is a Chipotle on Shady Grove about maybe 10 minutes to the West of there with the stoplights!:lmao: Shady Grove Rd. / Crabs Branch is only about 15 min. from where we live using I-270! So now I'm guessing where you're going is in one of those townhouse type commerical strips...probably near Indianola Dr. Well, like I said we have the Pinewood Derby on the 23rd from 1 - 4:00.

If you think you'll still be around until 5:00 or so we could try to hook up after if you want!?

If Johnna can't find the pin backs at DL look for them online...we like the locking ones but couldn't find them ANYWHERE in WDW last Aug. I finally found them online & ordered a bunch for DS for his stocking for Xmas!

Oh YAY!! TOP O THE PAGE!! TOP O THE PAGE!!

:cool1:

OK so funny DIS Board story. My best friend just booked 2009 Tortola cruise and I told her she has to get on Cruise Meets thread.

Well in their thread for every 100th post - if you are that poster - you are awarded a pirate: whom you can name.

So she posted the other morning and was post # 96 - and she was dying because she figured by the time she got home from taking kids to school she would have lost chance for post #100 and the pirate: But nobody had posted. So she bascially fluffed her way to #100 and anxiously awaited her pirate: award. The people on her thread were tocked off because she fluffed her way!!:rotfl2:

They reluctantly gave her the pirate: but restated the rules against fluff posts.:lmao:

OH and one lady said it was not fair for her to post during school hours because she was a teacher and could not post during the day.

They apparently have too much to do at night and have never talked or sang to themselves here on the DIS. :dance3:

Here is a song I love:

EVER EVER AFTER LYRICS CARRIE UNDERWOOD
CARRIE UNDERWOOD LYRICS EVER EVER AFTER

Storybook endings, fairy tales coming true
Deep down inside we want to believe they still do
And a secret is taught, it’s our favorite part of the story
Let’s just admit we all want to make it too

Ever ever after
If we just don’t get it our own way
Ever ever after
It may only be a wish away

Starting your fashion, wear your heart on your sleeve
Sometimes you reach what’s real just by making believe
Unafraid, unashamed
There is joy to be claimed in this world
You even might wind up being glad to be you

Ever ever after
Though the world will tell you it’s not smart
Ever ever after
The world can be yours if you let your heart
Believe in ever after

No wonder your heart feels it’s flying
Your head feels it’s spinning
Each happy ending’s a brand new beginning
Let yourself be enchanted, you just might break through

To ever ever after
Forever could even start today
Ever ever after
Maybe it’s just one wish away
Your ever ever after
Ever ever ever after

I’ve been dreaming of a true love’s kiss

Oh, for ever ever after

The movie is going to be released to DVD on March 18th!!! :woohoo:  SO gonna be buying this one!!!:thumbsup2

Where is Annie tonight? Oh wait...I seem to recall her saying she was running around town.

Hey there ya'll...

Annie took the nite off (sorta) from the Dis last nite. Actually, it was the first nite and only nite this week NOT running around town. Made dinner...had a cleaning date with Rosie...watched AI... Tonite is the "Cluster Concert" with the other schools - have to leave work on time and have DS at school by 5:30 for practice. Doors open at 6:45. Concert 7 - 8:00. THEN I suppose we'll get to have some dinner...probably either more leftover chilli or Mickey D's. Guess we'll take a vote after the concert!:goodvibes

Johanna - hope you have a great time with lots of SUN in DL!! How is little baby pirate doing by now? Over the RSV yet? Does Ryan miss school for this? I suppose do it while she's young... How long of a drive is it for you? What is a BOD meeting (Board of Directors is my guess)?! Sounds important anyway.;) Take lots of pics!

No way your friend could be cruising with better (more fun) peeps! Nope. Do not believe it!:sad2: Esp. if no fluffing allowed!

Hey hey!!

Last post before we leave...no really...

Had Cal. Closets out once for an estimate.:scared1: It was like $5K to do the master closet. Figured I would work it out with Home Depot. Maybe this fall.

Not packed. Just home from bunco. Romance theme. I won $5 and a pink pair of lacy thong underwear.

Final load of laundry is drying right now. Girls are in bed. Will begin packing momentarily. Was doing t-shirt design seeing as how it is Linden's first trip and all but I decided and DH pointed out I left a few too many things til the end and with the schedule from HE77 on Thursdays its just not gonna happen. Will print out the designs and put them in scrapbook.:thumbsup2 Linden won't remember anyhow.:ssh:

Will post trip report when I return. But no deck to power wash so I am clear on that one. Besides, no power washer. Really have to buy one of those for DH. That would be a late spring project. When it is nice and warm.:)

OK no IASM that I am totally ok with. But no Fastasmic and I am in between parades!? Gonna have to find something else to do I guess.

Oh bother off to pack everyone. Have a great weekend!!

Hummm. Speaking of date night...I keep forgetting next week is Valentines Day. :headache: I guess we'll have our date on July 21.:goodvibes

Dunno about this weekend. We were supposed to do the 5th grade ski thing tomorrow afternoon - but we had one of those freaky warm weather weeks where it was like 30 degrees above average and so there is no snow - and they haven't even been able to make any machine made snow all week! The webcams didn't look so good when I looked earlier. I mean, they groomed what was there already, but it really didn't look so good. Just figures. We bought a snowblower so it snowed only once. We bought ski boots and a helmet for DS and so now it REALLY won't snow!!:headache: We take our first ever January trip to FL and it was 50 degrees most of the time. :guilty: We are a JINX!! It MIGHT get cold enough tonight for them to make snow, but I don't know. I thought it was cold enough LAST night too but they didn't make any. NEXT weekend it will be packed 'cuz of President's Day. We went last year on that weekend and it was SO-O crowded!

Annie - had to watch LOST. Was disappointed tho. They faked the plane crash (who? dunno) so they could go get Ben who must know or have something important. Naomi and the tall guy are in on it the rest are just flunkies who were sent to get them. The palentologist woman who found the polar bear in the desert - well, the only good thing there was that the bear came from the island (it was wearing a Dharma collar). So who took it off the island? Hmm. What a mind bender. I have to go back and read about Dharma. I didn't watch the show then.

Just called & added the trip inurance to our 4 n. DVC cruise. One more thing to cross off my to-do list!:thumbsup2

Are we there yet?

So, flyer came home from teacher - still planning this ski trip - except now he's trying to add tubing to the mix! We don't want to tube again! I don't know WHY he did this, 'cuz it's only $1 discount, but the teacher said he committed to having 30 people for tubing! WHY? That was not mentioned on the orig. flyer! We don't want to waste $19 pp for 2 hours of tubing and THEN go pay for the skiing!:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I hope he can get his numbers 'cuz I will feel bad for him if he has to pay for it himself! But I just REALLY hope they can make some snow tonight! He DID get a good group discount for the ski packages tho - so I think we won't bother going down to the ski chalet place in the morning to rent the skis. It would only save $4 pp - not worth the time & effort - may as well just do the package deal at the resort.

Hi! A new truck! What fun! And you can send about 6" of your snow down this way for this afternoon - we can't seem to get much this winter - and our little ski adventure this afternoon is lookin' a little bleak! (insert smiley on skis here!)

Still hoping ours will change. When I booked the stateroom I wasn't thinking about the location, then when I tried to change it found out they are on guarantee status only :( So I'll send you ours (as it is now) and hopefully we will change it at the port or if lucky before.

Morning ya'll...

WAY to go Betsy on your size 14! :worship: That's awesome! You must be so-o happy about that!:dance3:

Well, the 5th grade night ski trip turned into a bit of a bust. We get there & there were a lot of families (mostly of boys) but they had pretty much all decided to just tube. I didn't take our boots for tubing but DS wanted to tube with his friends. So we put some toe warmers in his tennis shoes & let him go for 2 hours while we sat there in the lodge & watched. We really didn't want to tube again. There were a couple other parents that didn't tube too - we talked for awhile with this Scott Kinney guy who's brother, Jeff, wrote this kids book called "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". It's a really funny book for ES school age & it's done really well on the best seller list - anyway, he just released a sequel which we haven't picked up yet - but they are a funny family. The brother lives up your way somewhere CamColt.

OK, so anyway, he tubed from 4-6:00 then we went down & did the night skiing until 10:00. Once the sun went down it started getting really icy. This was the first time we had gone at night - it made it hard to see the icy spots. There are a couple of colleges not far from this ski resort so there were a lot of college age kids with their snowboards. LOTS - probably for the cheaper rates. I don't like the snowboarders. They are always down & you have to avoid them, a lot of them are inconsiderate & some are toooooo fast.:sad2: ANYWAY, I did a lot better with the new boots and actually graduated off of my little bunny hill up to a couple of the green trails! Although I don't think I'll be training for the Olympics any time soon, I did OK on one & not so good on the other. I fell on the 2nd one twice - it had a couple of really sharp turns that I wasn't ready for! I still panic when I pick up too much speed & for some reason the snow on this trail was really bumpy + it was icy - just too much for me. On my 2nd fall I lost a ski & hurt my back a little. So I went back to the other trail & stuck to it. But I get a little better each time we go. My last 2 runs were much faster! :dance3: It's just really hard to teach an old dog new tricks but I'm gonna keep trying!

Should we try to go back again this weekend? It will be crowded 'cuz of it being Pres. Day weekend & all....but the snow / slope conditions will be so-o much better...DH has to work on Monday (lumber yards are still retail) and we have next door neighbor kids birthday party Sat. morning (she hired some guy to set up laser tag at home in the back yard from 9:30 - 12:30 or something like that). Doughnuts instead of pizza.... But I was thinking we could go either Sat. NITE again when it's cheaper OR EARLY, EARLY on Sun. morning for the whole day.... Am I getting carried away? Winter will be over soon (I think)! We have the Pinewood Derby on the 23rd and the Blue & Gold banquet on March 1 plus who knows what the weather will be like...it usually starts warming up in March...

"borrowed" this from another thread: :lmao:

Dieting now THIS makes sense!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FITNESS AND HEALTH

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! .... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride"

Anal Annie

WELL it started freezing rain around 3:00 this afternoon so swimming was cancelled again. Whew! I was relieved as I stepped out of the office onto a sheet of ice and had to spend 10 min. scraping the car. THEN I had to go vote! Only 24 degrees. Passed 2 wrecks within 5 min. of leaving work. Winter weather advisory until 7:00 am. Expecting a possible school delay in the morning!:headache: At least dinner is basically made tho (planned for leftovers since I THOUGHT we'd be heading back out by 7:00)!! Then we can watch AI at a normal time and go to bed (alarm went off at 4:00 for DH to get up)!

OK, where's TRM? Isn't she back from DL yet?!

OK, so I have a question about this Atlantis thing at Nassau. DCL offers what looks like the full shebang for $155 pp (incl. access to the water slides I think). THAT'S a lot of Captain Morgan there folks! $155!:scared: GeezeOFlips! The internet rate for the Comfort Suites for one nite is $215. OK, so that's $250 less (for us). BUT, it says check-in at 3:00. How do you book this room for the day and still get wristbands? Will they let you check in early and give them to you EARLY when we first get off the boat and go over there? Anybody know anybody who's actually DONE this? And are any of YOU thinking about doing this? I know my DS would love this............

OK - let's see...picture 3 boys and their Dads off together on water slides while their Mom's sip tropical drinks by the pool while we :worship: the sun!:lmao: Actually, I would probably like the water slides too...at least somewhat. I like knowing there is cool water nearby when I get hot laying out. (Yes, I'm one to lay out all day if I get the chance!)

I haven't really talked to DH about it yet - but just quickly looking over the options for Nassau I would guess we'll do this on at least one of the stops! DS is a water bug! :) I just really hate to spend $155 pp!! That's almost as much as our helicopter rides in Hawaii. Well. Not QUITE. But that's a LOT. I know we'll bring our own snorkel gear for CC...not sure if we'll plan a true excursion or not. The website doesn't specify TIMES for these things. Like what if we want to do parasailing and the stingray thing on the same day for example...how do you know the timing? I would guess knowing us we will plan at least one thing for each day tho. Most of these excursions are pretty short so they still leave a lot of the day to goof off it looks like.:confused3 We've never been to CC...but I am looking forward to a little down time tho!:goodvibes

We had a 2 hour delay as well for the ice this morning. The receptionist lives up in another county & she had orig. called & said she'd try to be here by Noon...now she just called & said she's not coming at all...I didn't think she would. I just looked on the DCL website again & noticed that they also have one that is called the "Dolphin Cay Aquaventure" (6-8 hrs) that is a "dolphin encounter" not a "dolphin swim" whatever THAT means AND it includes the slides ETC. for the Atlantis water park thingy. For a mere $285 pp!!

OK, so other Nassau options...there's also something called "Blue Lagoon Island Dolphin Encounter" for only $99 pp - again they call it an encounter not a swim. WHAT is the difference please? Anybody done these before?! HELP!

$155 pp for the "Atlantis Aquaventure" only.

Do we want to catarmaran / snorkel on CC or at Nassau? :confused3

We could do the Comfort Suites thing for $215 if I can figure that out and the "Blue Lagoon" dolphin thing for a grand total of only $512 for the 3 of us (plus taxes I'm sure...)

OR we could do the Cat. snorkel for $45 pp or the Caribbean Queen snorkel for $37 pp and the Comfort Suites... Crap. I don't know!!

OH, and there's also Blackbeards Stingray thing on Nassau - anybody know how that compares to the one on CC?

You guys have all been there before & done some of these things! Any recommendations?! What is just absolutely NOT worth it? I am so glad we have our snorkel equip. to bring too...I would hate to rent it ea. day! I'm assuming there's a place on CC to snorkel "for free" if you have your own gear?!

Wow! You all have been busy!!

Let's tackle the easiest thing first: CamColt. Pack shorts. Or light capris. No jeans. The sunshine was wonderful and the shade will cool you down just perfect. We needed sweatshirts after about 8 or 9 pm.

Fireworks are always awesome. More crowded than I thought it would be but certainly cleared right out after fireworks. Ryan discovered Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad. So we rode that like a bazillion times. She tried Tower of Terror and I will say she is not a big fan. picture leaving the ride in tears But at least she tried it.

Did the Princess Fantasy Faire. Which Cam, I am sure your boys will not bother with, while it was cute and all, the forcing you into line to meet whichever princess happens to be there and then cleverly exiting you into the princess costume and accessory corner I thought sucked. Part of Disneylands charm for me is wandering around and "bumping into" whichever characters you find hidden about the park. But they have kind of taken the WDW approach and you can find only certain characters at posted times at one location. And imagine your little princess really wanting to see Cinderella. Head over to Fantasy Faire, wait in line for up to an hour and a half, get behind the cleverly designed wall, to find....Aurora. I think that kinda sucks.

Did not do the new Nemo ride. The shortest line we saw all weekend was 60 minutes. Not gonna happen. In fact, not sure we rode anything in Tomorrowland and than Buzz Lightyear. But the single rider line for California Screamin' is pure genius!! We let the kids run around in the Redwood Creek Parents Rest Area.:thumbsup2 The boys will definitely dig that.

Dinner at Blue Bayou rocked.

Did not get "dreamed" however. That would have been cool.

Asked if we could go back. DH said something about having a cruise to pay for.:confused3 Killjoy.:rotfl2:

Not glad to be home. Its cool, breezy and overcast here. Oh and Ryan got up last night crying that her stomach hurt. Then threw up.:headache:  So we are watching movies and playing board games and doing laundry. But best friend did bring me a latte!!:thumbsup2 Of course I think she really only wanted the antenna balls I brought back for her.

OK guess it's "Milo and Otis" time. Heavy sigh.

Will post pictures later.

:wave2: Hi! Welcome back!

That weather sounds PERFECT - CamColt - you are gonna have a blast! Maybe next time we want a "quick" weekend we should try CA?! Is that too far for 4 nights?!:confused3 DS DOES always ask when we can go back...

DH is convinced we will never be "dreamed" either 'cuz we're always bickering!:rotfl: :p

Sorry, but WHO are Milo & Otis?

Sorry Ryan's  Hope she's doing better by now!

Antenna balls!:rotfl2: I don't have an antenna...but if I did I would have balls!:yay:

OH, and the first time DS did TOT he didn't want to go back again for 2 or 3 days. Then after he thought about it he asked to go back & now it's one of his top 3 or 4 rides ALWAYS!:thumbsup2 You must use the old falling off a horse analogy next time!!

Speaking of paying for the cruise...we need to work on our taxes this weekend (yes, Cheri - we hope to get a refund - that is always our vacation stash!! I let my favorite Uncle, Sam hold onto it for me so I don't squander it on foolish things like Captain Morgan!:) )

I don't have enough funds budgeted for all of these excursions!! My vacation $ spending envelope is like WAY short of being able to cover all this stuff...What to do...what to do... I posted a thread asking opinions on these goofy excursions...nobody's answering much. :rolleyes1 Will one of you guys go answer me?! Please? :lmao:

Hi - me again...just more obsessing...and relaying of information.

So I called the toll free number for the Comfort Suites. The kid verified the $215 internet rate - but they got all kinds of extra charges (pp, energy, taxes etc). The Tues 7/22 rate is a little less than the Sat. 7/26 rate...kids 12 & under are free - max. 4 pp per room... Anyway, I think the rate for the Tues (for the 3 of us) ends up about $263 and the Sat. rate would be around $293ish (I'm rounding a little). He said there were only 9 rooms left at those "internet rates" for either date. He couldn't tell me how the 3:00 check-in thing would work. He suggested I call the hotel directly. So, I call them. The lady I got said booking directly with the hotel is a 2 night minimum. I don't see anything online right now about this 2 n. minimum. So I said I'm not interested in 2 nights, only the wrist bands...she said if we get there at say 10:00 we go to the desk to check-in and ask for a "pre-check-in" in order to get the ID's etc. But she didn't believe me about the website not saying 2 n. min. - she was pretty insistent about that. The first kid I talked to said they take a credit card guarantee & would have to cancel by 5 days ahead to avoid being charged.

Who thinks what about this plan?! Book safely thru DCL for roughly $200 less and get the "light lunch" and transportation included or try to save a buck and "deal" with this mess!?!?!?!?:confused3

wanna feel sick to your stomach??

The house across the street has been empty since summertime. The guy paid around $740K for it about a year before that. Anyhow, he up and just walked away from it giving it back to the bank. We don't miss him.

It was listed with a realtor briefly then nothing until this weekend. The bank has relisted the property.

3200 sq ft., 5 bd, 3 bath, large lot for the area with a pool and spa, 3 car garage.

$340K

 :scared1:  :scared: ill smiley followed by pass out smiley

a 50% loss to be taken by the bank. Can you say things aren't good here in CA suburbia land!?

All we can hope for is a bidding war. Or that TZM and Ophie decide now is the time to buy in CA!

And good new neighbors. But at that price....it will most likely end up a rental.:sad2:

However, if kids are free.....and they kid you talked to first does not hold fast to the 2 night rule....we book it together and split the wristbands!!:teacher:  I don't know. Well, at this point, I don't see us moving to CA anytime soon. My job is unfortunately, currently firmly planted in south Florida. Hopefully that will change.

It is pretty sad that people are getting killed by the devaluation of housing. I think that it is also pretty bad that people still think that their houses are worth anywhere near what they for sold in 2004-2005. The WSJ had an article about how something like 35%-50% of people still think that their homes are worth at least the 2005 price. Another 15% on top of them think think that their house appreciated in the past year. I guess its a new kind of fantasyland.:sad2:

Sad but true. But hey, its OK, you can just give your house back to the bank. So thats well and good. Then just rent someone elses. It's cool. Unless your landlord defaults on his home loan and then you end up homeless. That would be bad.

How are the dealerships doing?? I know Tracy Chevrolet just basically shut its doors. Only current contracts for sales or service were being honored. Don't know if the partners defaulted or just wanted out??:confused3 Pretty scary. And Fremont Ford either is downsizing or something. I heard they are moving from the Auto Mall. Tis not good.

HHI is an awesome property! I took Ophie by there on return home trip from North Carolina. I love it there. The theming is great and it is just a place away from everything. I love HHI because of the things to do there. Ummm...Shop, golf, fish, sail, eat, drink, eat, do nothing on the beach. Yeah. It's pretty cool. And, its close to Savannah and Charleston.

Hello From The Frozen Tundra in The Northeast,

Just letting everyone know that we are finally thawing out up here, it started to snow here about 2:30pm yesterday, then turned to ice about 11:30pm through 6am, then finally turned to rain sometime this afternoon, it was brutal getting to work this morning, I HATE THE NORTHEAST WINTERS, but I still LOVE NEW YORK, I tried living in another state but , the only great thing to come out of it was I met my Linda. What is the old saying you can take the boy out of the city , but you can't take the city out of the boy..... Can't wait for the cruise

OK, so I saw a post on another thread about booking the dolphin thingy in Nassau thru a place called shoretrips.com. So I peeked at the site for a couple minutes...they offer some of the same exact stuff as DCL - for a few dollars MORE even on some! Like the Blackbeards Stingray thing was about $5 more pp or something! Who'd have thunk?!:confused3 They do offer an actual dolphin SWIM in addition to the dolphin ENCOUNTER too - dunno if it's worth the price difference. :confused3 Anyway, but so I DID see something else on this website that I thought might be kinda cool that I will just throw out there to see if anybody else is interested in this idea. We like to snorkel & will probably plan at least one snorkel excurision somewhere. Anyway, you can charter a catamaran for a private 3 1/2 hour snorkel trip!! You can charter it for up to 25 ppl or for up to 50 ppl!!! The price for the 25 ppl one is $2,096 - so if we scraped together 25 of us it's about $25 more than booking a reg. excursion but how cool would that be if it was just a peeps trip?! They can depart at either 9:15 or 1:15 (we have ashore at 8:30 and onboard at 7:00 in Nassau). Does anybody else snorkel?!

:rotfl2: WEST Virginny, Thank You Very Much! I think you must be my 2nd cousin from Bakersfield!! Are you sure you don't have a brother named Eddie?!

ACTUALLY, they have done a lot of research on my Mom's side (I guess it's my Maternal Grandfather's family). WAAAAYYY back in the 8th Century they were Norse settlers who somehow ended up in Cumbria, England. The name was originally "Lauthra-a" but at some point it was changed to "Lowther". There's a family crest, an old falling down family castle (I think it's officially called a ruin now) and a Lowther Church that was built in like 1175 by the Normans or something. One of my Aunts went to England and visited the castle (I have a picture - it's pretty cool). I remember reading something in it too about also being a descendent of Anne Hathaway or something - she was from like the 1600's maybe? The family tree is enormous and now that it's completed back that far they maintain it with updates every year at the family reunion. Somebody updates it with all of the deaths, births, marriages etc.:thumbsup2

My Dad's side are mutts from Germany I think!:rotfl2: Actually, I have something about some of them somewhere but nothing so extensive. They don't do family reunions or anything. I think my Paternal Grandfather's family is also probably from England and my Paternal Grandmother's side is German. My Maternal Grandmother's family is Irish I think. It's only the one Maternal side that has done the whole family tree thing...they have a family reunion every summer, the last weekend in June. It's like scheduled. The only thing that varies is the past like 3 years it's been in a different place.:goodvibes

Amen, brother!! (Assuming that by "VD" you mean Valentine's Day and not venereal disease?)

If we need the calendar to tell us it's time to do something romantic, then it's fundamentally pointless. Valentine's Day was invented by Hallmark, Stovers and flower shops.

Totally agree! Valentines Day to me means, having to get the kids valentines for their class, and stuff for their parties, find them something red to wear, give them a little gift etc.... Of course I got DH a box of Hugs and Kisses, but that was just because I knew he wasnt getting me anything and I wanted them. Ill end up eating most of them. :lovestruc

Yep, Annie. We go Tuesday, 5:00 PM flight to San Diego. Wed morning we drive up to DL.:cool1: We are taking the red eye home on Monday the 25th, so I'll be home Tuesday morning...and probably totally out of it by that time. ;)

Annie- you've been doing research on Atlantis. From everything I've read, the Disney excursions don't give access to the water slides unless you pay about $250 pp, right? We aren't doin' that. (BTW, I didn't like LOST this week. It's getting dumb IMO. Now Sayid is working for Ben? And I'm tired of Jack's "poor me" sad eyes. Next week should be better - according to the spoilers)

Yes - lots of excursion research going on here! DCL actually appears to offer 3 diff. levels of Atlantis excurions. One is simply a beach thing - runs $65 pp - I think it includes lunch but no waterslides. (We have several friends that did that one last year and they enjoyed their day a lot.) The next one is the "Aquaventure" one which is $155 pp which is the beach one with lunch plus it DOES add wristbands for the waterslides. The 3rd one is called the "Dolphin Cay Aquaventure" and is the regular "Aquaventure" PLUS a dolphin encounter (2 hour interaction I think it said) all rolled into one day! THAT one is $285 pp.!:scared1: Our problem is that if DS even THINKS there are waterslides within reach he will be upset to not get to go on them! The other option is booking a room at the Comfort Suites (next door to Atlantis) for approx. $215 for 4 ppl. + all their energy surcharges & taxes blah, blah. (Kids 12 & under no extra charge etc.) One room for us would run ABOUT $263. But then you have to get taxis on your own to get there and buy your own lunch. So maybe what, another $50-60 or so?! So I think I can round the Comfort Suites thing to about $325. for the 3 of us which would save $140 VS booking with DCL.

That website that offers the private charter catamaran also has a 3 stop snorkeling trip we might think about. It's more of a dedicated snorkel trip than a booze cruise type thing - but DH & I like the snorkeling so that might actually be worth it. It was about $55 pp I think. I have found a couple of other options for Dolphin Swims too (as opposed to the "encounter" thing that DCL offers). Most ppl seem to think the extra $ is worth it for the "swims". DCL only offers the Blue Lagoon "encounter" for $99 pp. The same exact thing elsewhere is $85 pp and the actual "swim" is $165 pp at one place & $175 pp at another. These excursions take about 3 1/2 hours. But that's another pricey excursion. Now I need to research the tour companies a little to see if the one that's $10 more is better or not.

I also need to talk to DH about this crap. Maybe we'll skip Atlantis & do the 3 stop snorkel (I'm assuming with no responses that nobody else is into a private charter and / or snorkeling) and then maybe a dolphin swim on the other stop. I don't know. Really just budgeting! We will basically have 3 beach days on CC as all of the excursions there are very short. I'm OK with spending most of my day doing something else in Nassau.:thumbsup2

I have emailed our friends (3 families that went together) about the Atlantis thing. I don't want to go there & not do the slides & then have DS be all mopey about them if they're like right in your face and he can't use them!

LOST - I am "over" Jack and Sawyer & Hurley both need showers! I can smell them both thru the TV screen! Esp. Hurley! LOL! Lots of speculation about Sayid and Naomi out there...he was very upset about her dying I think. He is so-o-o ummmmm _____ tho (starts with an 's' and ends with a 'y')! But do you think they're counting Ben as one of the Oceanic 6? Do you think he assumes someone else's identity with all of those passports? Who was in the coffin? Locke? I heard Michael will be back this season - do you think he's on this ship?!

Sooo Lost on the Lost thing. I gave up somewhere in the middle of season 1.

But excursion info me likey. Go Annie! and figure it all out. DH and I like the catamaran idea but seeing as how Linden will only be 1 when we sail there is no sense taking her off the boat which means one person goes with Ryan and one person stays behind.

I would love to do the Atlantis thing. DH is lukewarm at this point. So I don't know what that gets me.:confused3

If travel zoo comes up with a room rate I will most likely book it. That being said, since we are only cruising the 4 day, not too sure we will go crazy with excursions. Or maybe one stop at CC I will do something with Ryan and the other stop at CC DH will do something with Ryan. ??

Was just looking at rates for 2009. Best Friend is still whining about us not going with them 7/18/09 - $10221 to sail cat 4 with them $4973 to sail cat 4 9/12/09 - I love my best friend but that is a big difference in $$. We are really leaning towards no kids Disney Adventure in 2009 - to Ireland if they are still offering it. Can't wait for that information to come out!

OK off to take Ryan to birthday party and pick up best friends kids at soccer field. :thumbsup2

OK, I think we've pretty much decided what we're doing and have formed a plan. I don't think there will be any Atlantis for us! DH and I don't want to pay to go to the beach there when we're going to have 3 days of beach on CC. Nor does he want to pay THAT much for a pool & waterslides and we don't want to risk DS finding out that he missed out on a waterslide somewhere! :rotfl: So I think we are going to book a dolphin "swim" directly thru this dolphinencounters.com (http://dolphinencounters.com) place for our first Nassau day. It is still a lot of money ($165 pp) but we agreed if we're going to spend $500 it's going to be on something DIFFERENT! I've been fiddling around with this crap long enough!

I THINK on the 2nd Nassau day we are going snorkeling. The EXACT trip remains to be decided. DH doesn't want to be cocktail-less so I don't know if we'll do the afternoon 5 hour / 3 stop serious snorkel one or a shorter, earlier one (but this one has a stop with sharks)! The sharks sound cool. BUT if we book a shorter early snorkel we don't have to be back onboard until 7:00. So we COULD snorkel early - put DS in the club for the afternoon & then we could go to Atlantis for a little while alone for some gambling! AND it's still possible we might decide to book the snorkeling on CC instead - but they flat out say on the website vests are required and I despise that requirement - and they don't appear to include cocktails their snorkel trips either!:rotfl2: But the Dolphin swim needs to be booked early as they don't allow as many slots for those as they do on the "encounters". So I think one really pricey excursion will do it for us!:cool2:

I keep forgetting you are only on the 4 day one!:sad1: It's tough for me to give up on the Atlantis idea....but DH really liked the dolphin plan.... The worst thing about planning it like this thru a diff. tour co. is that we have to pay for it NOW and then there's the cancellation thing. I think this place does offer to cancel up to 24 hours ahead tho - which is decent....but I don't want to hassle with trying to get our money back!

:scared1: YIKES on those 2009 rates! I don't think we will EVER go above a Cat. 6! I stopped at the bank yesterday & emptied out my 2012 cruise fund envelope!:rotfl: I am up to $1,500!! Annie- Cas and I did a dolphin thing at Sea World for her birthday a few years ago. It was very cool and we were in the water about an hour in actual contact with the animals. Chris and I also have done this twice in Hawaii and, although it was cool as well, the time with the dolphins was considerably less and about DCL prices. No likey. Well, this place actually only works out to (only) be like $66 more than the DCL "encounter" and we figure it's probably worth it. It is not an hour in the water with them - more like 30 min. I think. It looks like this Blue Lagoon place is where they all end up so it's fundamentally the same trip. The actual "experience" itself will be the same. And yes, book it early they say! (They only take 10 ppl per slot for the "swims"!) I guess one way to look at booking thru someone else and getting it paid for NOW is that will reduce our ship bill by $500!:lmao:

Hey Annie--going to GOAT tomorrow ;) I think about you everytime I'm there now.

So how was everyone's V-Day :lovestruc Trevor fell and busted his head, so we spent a few hours at Doc in a box to make sure he was okay. Other than a slight concussion and a bit of blood mixed in his blonde hair, he's fine.

This is the end of fundraiser week at school, so I'll be taking care of the deposits and the order forms Tuesday (always fun.)
Oh, and if any of you want to order from VA Diner, let me know and I'll give you the web link. While he only gets credit for orders placed before Tuesday, the school will continue to get any funds from orders placed for up to a year.

So, T & S--heading to La Nouba soon, have you seen it before? It's really awesome.

So some of you are thinking of doing Atlantis huh? Haven't thought much about it myself. Comfort Suites for the day room is usually the best way to go, but sometimes Atlantis has specials as well for the room rates. The DCL excursion for Atlantis is a bit too pricey if you ask me.

Okay, better get back to answering client emails.

YAY! :cheer2: Hope you do get to re-book your 3 n. one!

Yummmmm....goat!:lmao: (Don't forget I can give you directions to more goat for next Sat. if you want!):goodvibes

So sorry to hear about Trevor - no stitches I hope?! DS fell at school once & cut his forehead (1st grade) and the teacher called me at work. She says "we think he needs stitches...do you want to come and get him or do you just want us to call an ambulance?" I was like weeellllll, first, will someone from the school ride with him or will he be alone? And 2nd, how bad is it? Can it WAIT for me to GET there? The answer was he would've gone alone and they thought he'd be OK for me to come...so that's what I did! BUT OH the blood was everywhere when I got there! ALL over his coat!:scared: They had him bandaged up with this white thing wrapped around & around & around his head like a turban! I didn't Know WHAT was under there! Turned out not to be TOO bad (only 3 stitches) - but the bandaging skills from the school nurse were frightening!:rotfl2:

OK, so now, back to the Atlantis thing!:rotfl: (Yes, I am so fickle!) Got email back from one friend who did the Atlantis beach thing last January. She said most of this stuff was still under construction when they were there but that it LOOKED super cool and she thought the extra $ would be worth it!! They REALLY liked the lagoon area there too she said. OK, so I go to the Atlantis website & browse thru this stuff...and OMG!! DS would LOVE THIS PLACE! We know he would rather do this than snorkel!!!!! Check it out! Mayan ruins...pools....slides....giant aquarium....63 acres!http://www.atlantis.com/water/aquaventure.aspx
So now we're back to thinking OK...maybe we should go........I read something now that said the busiest days are Tues & Sat - so the Fri. stop might be better.... I called the Atlantis directly - $437 with taxes etc. for a room with guaranteed access. :scared1: She said a special will probably come out within 30 days of July 25. So no way to know NOW. Day passes are avail. IF they're not too busy - so no guarantees for them ($105 pp adult / $ 75 for kids). I have now called the Comfort Suites 877 # like 3 times now. Each time, they say they DO have it available for 1 night (and it shows 1 n. online). BUT when I call the hotel directly they say a 2 n. min. DH is thinking if we book the one night online or thru the 877 # we might run into a problem trying to do an early check-in just to get the wristbands. And he likes that DCL provides the transportation blah, blah. I agree that their price is a LOT tho. The 800 # people said if they book it the hotel has to honor it! SO. Now what? SueEllen - what do you know about this? Do you know anybody who's actually done it for 1 n. with no problems when the hotel says 2 nights?!:confused3 I am not happy with the conflicting info. that I get when I talk to the 2 diff. phone numbers!! What do you think?

I cannot believe we are actually thinking about doing this (again) and the dolphin thing!:scared: SOMEBODY SHOOT ME!!!!!!!!

But I still have about 75% to do for both kids and I just dont know what to pack . No matter what I do they will complain...they will be too hot or too cold. I will have packed the wrong stuff no matter what. DH is no help, hes at the BC basketball game with Cam. I so hope it doesn't rain on you guys every day! I will cross my fingers! Make sure you take some crocs or something you can get wet in

Do you have any of those covertible zip off cargo style pants for the boys? I find them at Kohls on sale all the time! I'm telling you I LOVE taking those things on vacation for both DS & DH!! I need some for myself too!! :rotfl: FIRST, for DS - he's so-o skinny I love them 'cuz most have like an elastic draw string waist - we NEED that! Second, it doesn't matter how wrinkled they get - they don't have to be perfect - that's just sorta the look they have. So easy to pack. Third, you have pants and shorts all in one - saves space! They can wear them to dinner as pants, then start out the next morning in pants if it's cool, then zip off the bottoms if / when it warms up to shorts weather! Then when the sun goes back down you just put 'em back together. OK, well, I fight with the zippers a little trying to figure out which leg is which...but BASICALLY, I LOVE them!:thumbsup2 (Another good thing to bring is like a zip up hooded sweatshirt jacket thing!)

Usually I complain 'cuz neither of my guys do SQUAT (and I think that's a legitimate complaint) but I am lucky in that they also know not to complain about WHAT I pack!:goodvibes

LOL, Annie. DH is good in that he packs for himself. And hes good at running out for quick errands. Hes the type who can't sit still so I think he likes when I come up with something I need bought.

And yes, I have 2 pair of zip offs for each kid. They are great for trips like this. I just hope we get to zip them off. Low-mid 60s isnt shorts weather for me!

I'm with you on the crocs - and I know of at least one more Peep who feels the same :rolleyes1 (Cas got some for Christmas from my mom and, bless her heart, she put on the biggest smile and gave Grandma a big hug. "Oh, thank you Grandma." We had a good laugh afterward)

Who said anything about rain? Um... I see sun out my window right now and it was nice yesterday too. Are you bringing rain with you? Geez, any more rain and I'm gonna have to go buy umbrellas. Please to be leaving yucky weather back east.

:rotfl2: I LOVE my Crocs!! :rotfl2: I don't have the usual boat shoe ones - they don't fit my skinny feet. But I have these BRIGHT pink slide sandal things...decorated with Disney doodad things in the holes of course!:rotfl: They will be perfect on CC!! :lmao:

DH has been workin' on our taxes....YAY! Wonder if I can talk him into a few more DVC points with what's leftover from paying for the cruise & AKV?! Hummmmm... A girl can dream can't she?!

OMG!!!! Did I not wish her a Happy Birthday here????

:duck: OH NO! Bad, bad mom!!!

Crocks = YUCK in my book (wouldn't catch me dead in them) but hey--to each their own.

Katie, have fun on your trip.
Cheri, I'm with you--tax refund? What's that? I owed more last year than I make in more than 3 months combined (EEK--how does that happen?) I USED to get a refund before doing what I do now. I wish my mean 'ole Uncle would stop taking my money ;)

Annie, I'm going to send you my cell number so you can give me a call when you are done Saturday. I'm not sure how late I'm staying up there, but I'm always up for GOAT :rotfl2: Wish we could find a way to get one of those on the ship.

I'm so through with the drama this week. Trevor's head is fine, and no stitches needed, but enough to really scare me.

Hey--did you hear that I now live in INDIA? :rotfl: oh, and I am not a real person--I am a machine (okay, so I feel like a machine many days) too funny. WHO MOVED ME WITHOUT TELLING ME? I've been in some strangers home :scared1:

"egad! who was that PM from?"

OMG! I forgot you had me on video singing Kenny!!! YIKES--hide that puhleeze!!!
I'm trying to remember what else I may have done on camera to embarrass myself (fortunately Beano was very kind in the Peeps DVD he made and didn't put too much of me on there.)

HEY--I want a stinkin teeshirt this time. I didn't have one last time :( (no that does not mean I was topless) :scared1:

I don't have a copy of this peeps birthday list!! WHO is the keeper of the list?! Please share!!

SueEllen - yes - please give me your cell phone number before next weekend (likewise I'll send you mine)! It would be fun to meet up for some goat! :rotfl: I still can't quite believe you drive that far for this meet / trade thing!! How far is it for you anyway? (Is it a Dis meet or a Pin Trade or both?!)

Anyway, the time they have allowed for the Pinewood Derby is 1-4:00. If he gets eliminated early on we could leave - but if he wants to stay & watch then we'll stay. The past 3 years we have "gone all the way" and qualified for the District race which is held near the end of April. He's a 2nd year Webelo - so this is his last year as a Cub Scout to do this. Always have to wonder how the car will do. He's been lucky so far! It will be sad if his car does poorly but he had a good run. They put the 2nd color of paint on it yesterday. Then they put a clear coat on it and the red paint ran a little. So I think they need to find some time for touch ups. They haven't put the wheels or weights on it yet...they need to work on it tonight tho so I can go weigh it at work on the postage scale (it can't go over 5 oz.). They need have time to fiddle with the wheel alignment & stuff before Saturday! It always comes down to the last minute!:headache:

Cyber SueEllen! :rotfl2: I couldn't resist posting in that other thread! That was so funny! That nasty poster doesn't have a high post count - but I see them here & there over on the DVC boards too. They're a bit odd for sure. Just always strange comments.

Katie - I am still crossing fingers (and will add toes) for your weather!

CamColt....ya been quiet today....ya done packin' yet? Hope you have a GREAT time! Very jealous (rain or no rain)!:goodvibes

Now TRM has disappeared....what's up with ya'll - you takin' turns with the disappearing act?!

OK, how about a little humor:

An Irishman, a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building.

They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, "Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building." The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed, "Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going to jump off, too." The blonde opened his lunch and said, "Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too."

The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death. The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too. The blonde guy opened his lunch, saw the bologna and jumped to his death as well.

At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She said, "If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!"

The Mexican's wife also wept and said, "I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much."

(Oh this is GOOD!!)

Everyone turned and stared at the blonde's wife. The blonde's wife said, "Don't look at me. He makes his own lunch"

OK, so just out of curiosity (tax refund not filed let alone received yet burning hole in pocket)...checked the availability of the 4 "secret verandah" cabins on the 3 n. cruise...ALL STILL THERE! Is it an OMEN? :confused3 The Cat. 7's HAVE gone up a couple hundred dollars since we first booked them...sigh. But so, by my fancy math calculations:teacher: if I follow what ya'll over there at DU do I THINK that with the increase in credit for going up in categories (and if I figure out the one-way xfers to the airport, blah, blah, blah I think it would end up being ABOUT $526.21 more to upgrade cabins on the 2nd cruise from the "SPH" cat 10 to the "SV" cat 7. (Would've only been a little over $400 to have done it in the beginning...but I didn't.) Who thinks I should just drop it NOW LeeAnn and don't EVEN ask DH?! Stay put...don't pack - leave it A-L-O-N-E?! OK, now, show of hands for who thinks I should see what DH thinks about it and have our good friends at DU double check my math for me??

Which side of the ship is best at CC? (right or left... ummm...rephrase...starboard or port?!)

Soccermom-Cheri

I prefer starboard. Too bad you can't see how many cat 3's are left (Katie? Sue Ellen?) That might really tell us how empty the ship is. sorry, I don't know how much you would be gaining by moving from a 10 to a 7. Personally, I have to have a door I can open - no likey a closed in feeling (truth be told I don't even like walking down the hallways - yeah, I'm that bad)

Wow, Betsy!! You look awesome! Love the dress too.

SE, I hear ya! We used to get a nice refund every year. The first year I did this job, it went down some, last year we pretty much broke even, this year we owe! This is 1 huge downfall of this job.

That Palo picture reminded me...did someone suggest we do a Palo brunch as a group? I thought I had seen that somewhere along the way. If so, defintiely count DH and I in! That is something we havent done yet and are hoping to do. Anyone know when it is on the 4 day?

About 90% packed for all 3 of us. Just trying to tie up loose ends with clients now and the rest I can do tomorrow...with 1 more run to CVS, 2 loads of laundry, etc...

tax refund

I am not understanding this term. (Isn't it an oxymoron??)

I don't even like walking down the hallways - yeah, I'm that bad

I wouldn't worry. Just another glass or 2 of chardonnay and you can stumble down the hallways instead.

Mother Superior called all the nuns together and said to them,
'I must tell you all something. We have a case of gonorrhea in the convent.'
'Thank God,' said an elderly nun at the back. 'I'm so tired of chardonnay.'
