My wife is wondering if water shoes are worth it for water parks. I think there is probably enough chlorine in the water to kill most anything, and how would a shoe stop bacteria anyway?
Opinions?

I think if you have sensitive feet and are prone to infection then you might want water shoes.
My crew has feet of steel and we go barefoot everywhere we can. S

I absolutely needed them for walking on the hot footpaths......they also made my feet blister without them.....lots of walking around to the different rides......had to remove them for the body slides, but just slipped them into my suit waistline

I guess it depends on your comfort zone. I personally need to wear it on any waterparks, pool, beaches etc because I don't like the feel of bare cement or dirt on my feet. I insist on my kids doing it as well. However, my husband will wear bare feet to the waterparks, pools and beaches. He said it doesn't bother him.

It depends when you are going and your comfort level. We were at a waterpark in April/May and had to wear them as the ground was way too hot to walk on for our sensitive feet. The sand will also get really hot as well so it's something to consider.

Just seems like more crap to cart around to me. I am not a fan of going around barefoot outside, but none of us wore water shoes. We were there in May 2007, two days at TL, and one at BB. There were hot places on the sidewalk, but they also let water run on some parts of the sidewalk. We did have to move quickly a few times over the hotspots though!

My husband and I went barefoot but the kids (ds7 and ds3) wore watershoes. Their feet are way too sensitive and they don't even like to go barefoot in summer up here, never mind at Disney where it's 20 degrees hotter !

I never go to the waterparks without something on my feet. The paths are hot and rough. Not to mention the disaster if you were to injure a foot or toe.
My kids wear watershoes. DH and I wear "croc like" flipflops called Dawgs...for me they fit my foot better than a croc. I have a knee/hip problem and need some cushion and support on my feet. Occassionally we were asked to remove and hold the shoes. The kids were never asked to remove the watershoes.

We take crocs to the water parks. Good in and out of the wave pool & lazy river.
