I have recently taken up acoustic guitar and am learning way faster than I thought I would. (I think it helps that I can play piano)

Anyways I am looking into getting an electric guitar. I wont need anything fancy, just something to learn on. I want a nice sound and good quality, but its not like Ill be performing for thousends of people with it. ;)

Any suggestions? Since I just got the acoustic, which was pretty expensive, I am not looking to spend a lot of money.

Thanks in advance.

hmm. I have an acoustic but I got it for Christmas forever ago.

I'd go to your local guitar store and ask about it.

i really like epiphones... im a beginner also, and i bought the epiphone sg special pack... the guitar is really good.. it came with an amp, tuner, strap, picks, guitar bag, and a dvd teaching you how to maintain it... i got the whole package for about $200... but if you only want the guitar, than i believe itll run you about $150.. thats probably the best value youll get for your money imo

oh god, you do NOT want a guitar or anything that has to do with electronics on ebay... theres really no garuntee that its legit.. like someone couldve just gotten the hardware from a cheap guitar and put a daisy rock shell over it and you wont be able to tell.. and if you do, you cant really do anything... i really recommend musiciansfriend.com ... i get a lot of my stuff from there and theyre really great... id stay clear of used products or generic brands (the ones at walmart, kmart, etc etc) because those break really easily or sound really really bad
