The groundhog is considered a vermin in Kentucky so you can shoot them all year long. I hear they are pretty good eating to. Especially if you tenderize them with the car first.

Don't know how that darn groundhog saw his shadow this morning where they were - the sun wasn't even out yet. And you mean to tell me that little rodent tells those grown men in suits that he see's his shadow - how do we know the rodent told the truth???
Obviously whatever kind of rodent it is that predicts Florida weather did NOT see his shadow because I think "winter" is over!!! Its going to be "sticky" today - that is what the weather man said!!

"There is no way this winter is ever going to end as long as that groundhog keeps seeing his shadow. I don't see any way out of it. He's got to be stopped. And I have to stop him."
I love Bill Murray. Now if someone would just take out that groundhog, we could all be happy.

Today is my grandson's birthday, he isn't a rodent and he doesn't predict the weather, but he assures me that for at least this coming week into the weekend that there will be no snow 'cause he wants to get his birthday presents!! :lmao:

Personally, I question the rodent's reliability these days. How can he not see his shadow with all the television lights and flood lights shining on him? It seems like a set up to me. If you want to know if he sees his shadow for real, turn off the damn lights and look at it then. :confused3

Where I am from, rodent shadows are irrelevant. There are ALWAYS 6 more weeks of Winter, or, at the very least, Slog. Spring is never just around the corner in February in Minnesota. Good for the winter sports enthusiasts, though. My DH has just remembered that he loves to ski, so more winter sounds good to him, anyhow! I would be fine with it if the temps would just stay out of the single digits. I can at least work with that!

That is too cute!! I think you need to buy him just one more present for that!!

Too funny...this is the first February 2 that the whole ground hog thing slipped by me. It was such an important event to me when living in OH and PA. Apparently, SC weather patterns are not dictated by a groundhog's shadow. Heck...it's always sunny here compared to OH (sorry folks up North).
Just loving the Carolinas!:car:

Oh, sure M'Lisse rub it in.
Our weather folks said that the groundhog was talked into seeing its shadow so when the weather starts getting better soon, we will love the weather people more.

So was it wrong of me then to back over the ground hog once I had already ran over it? :rolleyes1
