Welcome to Universal City
We left Disneyland and checked into our home for the next four nights. We were staying at the Hilton, which was right next to Universal Studios, the actual studios and the theme park in Universal City, CA. The Hilton was beautiful and we had a fantastic view and room.

We spent a relaxing evening in Universal City and did some of our own touring about Los Angeles. We spent the evening at City Walk, which was right across the street from us. It was walking distance and it had the best restuarants to choose from.

WB Studios
We woke up early the next day because we were going on a black lot tour at Warner Brothers Studios and I couldn't wait. We got to WD Studios early and we were also able to get a discount because of the Writer's Strike, which sadly didn't end by the time we got to Los Angles. Even worse, it's still going on! Yes, picketers were a highlight of our trip, along with honking and people cursing at them from their cars. Oh, how I love LA!

We were able to go inside "The Tellers" home, which was fun because this is where they filmed some of my favorite "Friends" episodes. All of the flashback episodes pretty much had a scene in this house, including the Prom Video, which was the best! Everyone, including me, thinks DH looks like Ross aka David Schwimmer, so I had to have him sit on the staircase where he sat in that episode before Rachael and Monica went to the prom.

Then, we went to the working-set of "ER," where we got to see the "actual" hospital and ambulances. You'll recognize this from almost every opening scene in "ER" or any scenes right outside the hospital.

We visited a small museum area, where they hosed all of the famous vehicles used in many WB films. I'm sure you will recognize them all!

Now, the most exciting part of the tour for me was going on the actual set of "Friends!" It's the actual set for Central Perk, they just moved it from the stage to a different location. I kept waiting for the gang to appear!

Here’s the famous WB water tower, which is now just for decoration. Anyone else an "Animaniacs" fan here? I just kept thinking of it as Yakko, Wakko, & Dot's home and thought they should pop put at any moment. :rotfl:

I jumped on over here to hear more of your trip to CA. I love CA, I have been going to CA on a regular basis since 2000 so it will be neat to hear what you think of the places, many of the places you went to I have visited and will anxious to hear what you thought, I might actually have to dig up some of my pictures. I know for sure I have a picture my Joan Collins star, love her, and also John Ritter's, such a shame, RIP John, long time fan of Three's Company.:goodvibes

I'm here! I'm here! :yay:
I think this is the longest I have gone without being on The DIS and no Trippie update! :scared1: *Must catch-up!* It's been a hectic week at work, since it's our busiest time of the year and I've been exhausted. :headache: Now, I'm back!
I hope everyone has been doing well. I will have to go back and read all of your comments, but I will get to the Trippie update first. I'm going to have a busy weekend too because DH & I are celebration Valentine's Day early with a weekend at the Grand Floridian! :lovestruc
I can't wait! I have never stayed there and I think it's the perfect spot to celebrate Valentine's. We are having dinner at Citrico's and I've never been there either, so this will be all new to me. We are going back to 1900 Park Fare too and we haven't been there, since our wedding rehearsal dinner.
I also already talked to Private Dining and have some special treats being sent to our room to surprise DH! I've got to pack and do laundry tomorrow when I get home, so I may be able to update. But, if not, I'll be back posting on Monday. :wizard:
Just so I say it early...
Have a Magical weekend everyone!

Disney's Soda Fountain & Studio Store
An Afternoon of Disney Magic!
Our next stop was a Magical visit to the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store on Hollywood Blvd, which is right next to the El Capitan Theatre. I was so glad to be able to have a little touch of Disney right there in Hollywood!
http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334969_2357.jpg

http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334957_8153.jpg
I quickly spotted the Hollywood Star that was right at the entrance of the Disney Soda Fountain. The perfect location!
http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334964_509.jpg
The Soda Fountain was so cute! There was pink everywhere and everything was decorated for Christmas and for the movie, "Enchanted." It was just adorable and a Princess' dream in there!
http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334963_156.jpg
The restaurant and store are not too big and it's connected to the movie theatre, so you could smell the yummy popcorn. We got seated in the corner and I looked up and saw Zach Braff, which was exciting for me! I am a huge fan of the tv show, "Scrubs" and we were actually going to the "Scrubs" Farewell Tour with the Cast the next night in Beverly Hills. What a coincidence!
http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334960_9136.jpg
Gary Marshall & Zach Braff: "Chicken Little"
http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334959_8798.jpg
I had to order something from the fountain, so I started my meal with a Chocolate Phosphate. Even the napkins are cute at this place!
http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334961_9463.jpg
The walls are covered in autographed photos of celebrities that have eaten there. Of course, they are all from Disney films and they usually have the premieres for a majority of the films right next door at the El Capitan Theatre, so the stars have to drop by for some ice cream.
http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334962_9827.jpg
The Cast of "High School Musical"
http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334966_1199.jpg
I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of their broccoli & cheese soup that came in a cute Disney's Soda Fountain mug. It was very tasty and DH ordered the spaghetti & meatballs. We had to make sure we had room for dessert!
They had many different ice cream and sundae options. There were also many cute Disney themed options to choose from, like the "Enchanted" sundae that was the special at that time. I decided to try the Peppermint Sundae and DH created his own. The ice cream was amazing and there was marshmallow fluff all in my sundae. It was so good!
http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334965_876.jpg
We left Disney's Soda Fountain & Studio Store after doing a little shopping and then we just had to keep the Disney Magic going! We did a quick search on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for a few of our favorite Disney Stars!
http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v161/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33334970_2690.jpg

Then, we ended our afternoon of Disney Magic with a visit to The Walt Disney Studios! Is there any better way to top off your day!? I couldn't believe I was actually there and it was just amazing! It's where Walt started it all!

The Soda Fountain looks amazing, those sundae's, yummy!!!! I sure can't wait to check the place out. The food sounds like it was super good and I love the fact that they have all the stars from the Disney movies up on the wall that have stopped by, very cool.:goodvibes

I said I'd be back posting on Monday and here I am! :goodvibes
It will have to be short and sweet because I'm a bit tired and it's back to the grind tomorrow! :headache:
Well, our Valentine's Weekend at the Grand Floridian was interesting. Let's just say we had a lot go wrong and we were not too impressed with the Grand Floridian. You know it's hard for me to say anything bad about Disney! :rolleyes1 We were very disappointed and we were shocked.
The mistakes and issues were take care of, but they should have never happened. There were stresses we should not have had to deal with on our short weekend. Anyway, I won't get into too much detail here, so that means I must write a mini-Trippie!
We had a great time, except for the issues caused by the Grand Floridian and it did work out in our favor. I had to calm DH down because he was furious about the situation, but that's another Trippie.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Scrubs: The Farewell Tour
I was so excited about tonight and it was the highlight of our trip to Los Angeles for me! We were going to Beverly Hills to attend the "Scrubs" Farewell Tour. We paid a bundle to go to this special event and I couldn't wait to be in the same room with the cast of "Scrubs!" I am a huge fan of the show and I just adore Zach Braff and John C. McGinley, who are the stars of the show. I love them for many of their other films too, so I couldn't wait to actually be able to talk with them. It was going to be an exciting night!
But, before we arrived in Beverly Hills, I had to start the evening off at the "real" Sacred Heart Hospital in "Scrubs." This is the actual hospital that is the working-set for "Scrubs." We had to drive around for a while to find it on the outskirts of Hollywood, but I am glad we did. We also saw the one working ambulance that they use in the show.

After our quick visit to Sacred Heart Hospital, we booked it back over to our Hotel, so we could change into our clothes for our evening at the Paley Center. It took us a lot longer to get to Beverly Hills than we thought it would and it was dark by the time. We thought we were lost, but I quickly spotted the Beverly Hills Hotel and knew we were in the right place!

We were lucky enough to be some of the first few people to arrive to the Paley Center, so were able to get the sit in the second row of the small screening room. The Cast made their entrance to a round of applause from the audience and took their seats right in front of us. I was sitting directly behind Zach Braff and I was thrilled!
We began the evening by watching an episode of "Scrubs" with the Cast. It was such a surreal experience and everyone was having a great time. It is the last season for the show, so the writers and the entire crew of "Scrubs" was there in the audience. It was a special evening for everyone.
Then, the Cast and creator of "Scrubs" made their way to the stage to be asked questions by the moderator and by the audience. The Cast is just hilarious and they opened up about everything. It really felt like you were sitting and hanging around with your friends.

"Scrubs" is going off the air and now with Writer's Strike, there may not even be any final episodes, so I was glad to have this special evening with the Cast!

Lindsay,
I'm sorry to hear that your weekend didn't go as planned. I'm interested to hear how the GF failed. From me who has GF with high standards, mostly because I've never stayed there, its strange to hear the trouble that they gave you.
How great you got to see the cast of Scrubs! What a once in a lifetime experience. I never got into that show. Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Now, on with the show! popcorn::
Lindsey... sorry about your mini weekend... I know you were so looking forwards to it!!!
Do me a favor and post a link to your trippie on the GF thread also... I know the girls over there would like to hear what you went through... some have had things happen there recently also...

Hey Lindsey! I decided to follow you over to this trip report as well. During my family's tour of California back in the mid-nineties, we did make a stop in LA, but it wasn't very long. We only got to see a little of the Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theater (although we didn't go in), and Universal CityWalk, before heading on to a couple of nights in Anaheim and then heading north from there. I would love to go back and see all the neat things you saw! Also, I would highly suggest you definitely go back and see the rest of California someday. San Francisco was a huge highlight of the trip for me. It's a spectacular town!
So sorry your Valentine's weekend didn't go as planned. I will be interested to read the story when you get to it, as I have never stayed at Grand Floridian. Well, things have finally calmed down around here after a very hectic past three weeks. I've been super busy with work and have just been exhausted. I have the best intentions to get on here and write, but just didn't have the energy to do it.
I apologize for disappearing and the lake of updates. Hopefully, my schedule can get back to normal and I can spend some quality time back on The DIS.
Thanks so much for the nice comments and I'm glad you are all still here patiently waiting for my update. So, l must get back to my updates. :)

Paramount Studios
I was very excited about our next morning because we were going to Paramount Studios! It is most well-known and famous studio, in my opinion. So many of my favorite television shows have been filmed here and it was going to be a great moment to step foot behind those famous gates.
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393333_4771.jpg

I am a huge fan of Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz, so I was thrilled when we were shown Lucy's office, which overlook Lucy Park. Lucy actually had the park put there for her children, so they had a place to play. The coolest part is that it was designed like their actual yard at home.
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393348_6935.jpg

One of my favorite TV shows is "Happy Days" and I couldn't believe that I spotted Jefferson High School, where Richie, Potsie, and Fonzie spent most of their time the first season. It's actually just office building and a daycare center now, but I recognized it! "Brady Bunch" episodes were filmed here too!
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393352_7940.jpg

Here's the "lucky" stage at Paramount Studios! This is where "The Lucy Show," "Cheers," & "Frasier" were filmed.
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393353_8186.jpg
It was so much fun to be able to walk around the working studio and see all of the sets. It's just amazing to find out how many movies, TV shows, and even commercials have been shot here. We walked past a Taco Bell commercial that they were in the middle of filming.
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393355_8683.jpg

We had a wonderful morning at the studio and we made our exit through the famous and lucky bronze gate. We made sure to touch the gate for good-luck!
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393359_9674.jpg

At the exit, we spotted a very famous bench. It was one of the benches used in "Forrest Gump!" There were three benches used in the film and I have seen two of them. The other bench I saw was in Savannah, GA. Of course, we had to have a seat on the bench.

Thanks! It was pretty disappointing and very upsetting for DH. I didn't witness what all went on, but he was angry. It's not like him to be that way and he was just furious. It was not the way to begin our weekend!
I will be sure to post it for you over there or you are more than welcome to share it. :goodvibes I had such high expectations for the GF too. Sadly, I shared my story with others and they said they had horrible experiences too!
Also, obsesses Disney fans, who feel Disney can do no wrong, but they just hate the GF because of the bad treatment. It is pretty shocking to me to experience it and hear others felt the same way.

An Afternoon in Hollywood
Our next stop was at NBC Studios! Our original plan was to go see "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," which was a dream come true for me! I just love Jay and I even had the tickets in my hand. Sadly, the Writer's Strike put a stop to all of that. I was finally here and there was so taping! I will be going back because I must see Jay before he retires.
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393371_3837.jpg
We were not even allowed to see the studio because it was locked-up, but we were able to go on the set of "Access Hollywood." They had just finished filming the show, so it everything was still in full swing. That was pretty neat to see. Then, we went into the employee parking lot and saw where Jay parks his famous cars every day when he's not on strike! We also saw Shaun Robinson getting into her car after she was done with filming her segment on "Access Hollywood.
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393370_3564.jpg

After our visit to NBC Studios, we took a ride through the Hollywood Hills and it was so fun to see all of the old Hollywood homes. They were so neat and had a lot of history to them. Of course, we also had to get as close to the Hollywood sign as we possibly could! I'm sure the poor people, who live there are sick of everyone parking in front of their driveway for the perfect photo spot.
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393374_4632.jpg

We were getting hungry, so we decided to have lunch at a very famous and popular Los Angles spot, Pink's Hotdogs! On our way, we drove through the Sunset Strip and spotted The Viper Room. This is where River Phoenix sadly died in 1993 and it was partly owned by Johnny Depp until 2004.
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393381_6655.jpg

We arrived at Pink's and there was already a long line down the sidewalk. I couldn't believe it when we lucked-out and got a parking spot right up front!
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v168/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393384_7490.jpg

I have heard so many wonderful things about Pink's Hotdogs on the Food Network and the Travel Channel, which I watch religiously, so I had to check this place out. Plus, it's a celebrity hotspot and they had many different celebrity themed hotdogs to choose from.

We were able to find a table inside the very cramped restaurant that was covered in autographs from all of the celebrities, who have eaten there. Of course, there was no way for us to have a healthy lunch at this joint, but they did have a vegan hotdog. I was thrilled I could actually order a hotdog off the menu and it was delicious!

I love the pics inside Central Perk. I am obsessed with Friends! Your DH does look like Ross! And that is too cool you got to visit all the sets of those great shows. It stinks you didn't get to see Jay Leno. Last time I was in California, which was AGES ago, Johnny Carson was the host!! Lindsey! Wow, I feel so out of the loop. I've been gone for months and have missed all your fantastic trippies. I must take the day to catch up! :) You look gorgeous with your new hair color...I think the last time I read your trippie it was really dark & you were on your cruise. Love the blonde! (blondes unite ;) )
I was too young back then to get tickets, but thats how long its been. :rotfl:
Anyhoo, love seeing all your pics and looking forward to more trippie! Ok, time to catch up on your others. LOL
I am so glad you are back! :cool1: Yes, you will need weeks to catch-up! :rotfl:
Oh, and yes, I went back to my *regular* hair color. It's been blonde since I was in middle school and it was a big mistake to try going dark. It just didn't work for me, so I'm glad to be back to my old self. Luckily, the mistake didn't last for too long! :rotfl2:
We got to see Johnny Carson's old set, it's actually the Access Hollywood set now, so we were there. It's pretty tiny! It's hard to believe that Jay Leno is retiring now! When I say that and tell everyone I must go see him, they say they feel so old because they remember when Johnny Carson left. :goodvibes
What a cool trip to Cali! I never knew you could actually see all those working sets. I always had thought they were off limits because they are working sets.
I'm so bummed the strike screwed up your plans to see Jay Leno. I love him too! At least you got to see his parking spot :rotfl: ...oh and like you said now that the strike is over that means another trip to Cali!
Hope you have a great weekend!! :goodvibes
It was so neat and we actually went on the set of "Dirt," which is that show on FX with Courtney Cox. It was neat to see all the props and rooms. Yeah, now I have another trip I must plan to Cali soon that wasn't in my original plan. That's more travel and vacations than I expected, but it must be done! :rotfl: I do want to go back to be able to go to Universal Studios and have more time to sight-see too!
Great pictures of the Hollywood sign.........I am loving this report since we will be seeing some of the same things on our trip in December.
Wow those hot dogs look good.........but wow I wonder how many Weight Watchers points your hubby's Lord of the Rings dog had in it??????? :rotfl:
Can't wait for more.
I took plenty! Luckily, I didn't post every single one here! :lmao:
Well, my veggie dog had guacamole on it...that makes it extra healthy, right? :rotfl2: Oh, and those nachos were all mine! DH loved that he didn't have to actually eat the onion rings as a side dish. :rotfl:

Welcome to Legoland!
I have gone a little out of order with my Trippie, so bare with me. It still all makes sense. I just got a little ahead of myself. :thumbsup2
We spent our Saturday taking a California road trip to Legoland! Yes, this is somewhere I have always wanted to go! I don't think DH really understood why, but we hopped in the car to make the almost two-hour drive to Carlsbad, CA, home of Legoland!
It was a lovely drive too because we got to actually drive down the coast of California, so we were able to see the ocean. It was my first view of the Pacific Ocean and it was so fun to see the surfers hitting the waves.
It was a small town on the coast, but I started spotting Lego people, so I knew we were near Legoland! We made our drive down the small winding road and we were there!

It was quite surreal to actually be there, but we were ready for a fun-filled day! The park opened at 9:00 am and we arrived at 10:00 am and we have a lot to do in a short amount of time. Legoland was very neat and I absolutely loved it! Yes, everything was made of Legos! The coolest thing had to be the Lego Christmas tree!

Legoland is definitely a theme park for children, but you know that didn't stop DH & I. There are many cute rides and I was just in awe of all of the buildings & sculptures that were made of Legos.

It was a pretty busy and crowded day at the park, which meant we would have a rushed day. The park closed at 5:00 pm, so we did our best to see and do everything! We quickly found out that the waiting time for all of the rides were just ridiculously long. It took forever to actually load and unload the people on and off the rides. Literally, you would be the third person in line and that still meant you had a 15-minute wait.

Legos, Legos, Legos
There was still a lot more to see and do in Legoland! I think my favorite themed area was Castle Hill, which was all medieval times themed. I really like "The Dragon" ride, where you get on board a Lego dragon and make your way through the castle.

My favorite thing at Castle Hill was Granny's Apple Fries, what a tasty creation! It is a signature treat invented at Legoland. It's Granny Smith apples with cinnamon sugar, other secret ingredients, and served with vanilla cream dipping sauce. They were so good!

Our next visit was to the Pirate Shores, where they had our favorite ride, "Splash Battle." It was so much fun and DH just loved it! There were many neat rides and things to do in this area. It was just too bad that it was too cold to enjoy most of the water activities.

We couldn't believe that the day was already over and it was time to leave Legoland. The park closed at 5:00 pm and it was already pretty dark by that time. We did some quick browsing in the Lego stores near the exit and it was time to say good-bye to Legoland. There is even a Lego family getting in there car in the Legoland parking lot. We got in our car and we had a long drive ahead of us. There was a lot of traffic on the way back into Los Angles, so it took us over three hours to get back to our hotel and we hadn't had dinner yet! We spent the rest of the night at our hotel and ordered some fantastic room service.

I thought it was really neat! I don't remember when I first head about Legoland, but it was a pretty long time ago now. There are a few all over the world. I knew it was a place that I had to visit one day. It's quite a drive from the Los Angeles area, but it was worth it for a day of fun. It was nice to be able to visit the other areas of California, which were a lot nicer than the LA area.

Stars in our Eyes
Our last day in California was going to be a day of Hollywood sight seeing! We couldn't visit Hollywood without a stop at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. It was surreal to actually see it in person and it really stand out on the Hollywood strip. It is right next to the Kodak Theatre and it really is seeing old Hollywood next to new Hollywood.
http://photos-f.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33419541_9136.jpg
http://photos-j.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33419545_400.jpg
We wanted to go do a tour of the Chinese Theatre, but we decided we'd walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame first. There were many starts that I still had to find before we left California. I was on a mission to find Walt Disney, Lucille Ball, and Johnny Depp!
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393398_6378.jpg

Then, I spotted it! It was Johnny's star!
http://photos-324.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33393401_7513.jpg

It took us forever to finally find Lucille Ball's star and we had to walk for blocks and blocks, past all of the lingerie and other questionable shops before we finally found it.
http://photos-l.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33419547_1055.jpg
I also spotted another star for Walt Disney! Yes, he has two stars and he deserves them!

It was almost time for our tour, so we made the long walk back to the Chinese Theatre and we spotted these stars right in front. We had to ask an Elvis impersonator to move, so I could actually take the picture. Only in LA...

Hey Lindsey, Yes Legoland is for sure worth the trip, I don't think I will get there this time around, but hopefully one of my trips out to LA.
Now downtown Hollywood I have been through a bunch of times. It is neat to see all the stuff, but you are so right, some of the shops are very questionable, when we walk down there, I just sometimes look and go hmmm. It is all very interesting. And how about all those dudes dressed up as weird looking things and some not so weird like Elvis, you can tip them to get your picture with them, they just crack me up.:rotfl:
Can't wait to see more of your trippie. Love the Johnny shots.:goodvibes

Hi everyone!
I'm finally back! It's been a busy few weeks of work and then DH & I went to Massachusetts for Easter. My DH is from the area and it was my first visit. We had a lot of fun and spent most of our time in Boston and Salem. I flew back home earlier this week and then I was off to work. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter too! I'm finally here and ready to continue my Trippie! popcorn::

Grauman's Chinese Theatre
It was time for our tour at Grauman's Chinese Theatre and I couldn't wait to inside the famous theatre.
http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33419561_5691.jpg
It was an old theatre with so much history. It was quite dark inside and it was quite an amazing sight. There was Asian decor everywhere and we were able to go into the main theate, which was huge! It was so neat to see the original chairs and to know how many movie premieres have taken place there.
http://photos-f.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33419565_8715.jpg

Our tour guide took us outside to show us some more of the famous foot prints and give us the stories behind each of them. Will Smith had actually just had his hand & foot print ceremony days before we arrived. The fresh prints are gated off until they are ready to be moved to their final resting spot. The celebrities are also able to choose which color they would like their cement to be, red, green, or gray.
http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33419562_6179.jpg

One of the most fascinating stories was about Marilyn Monroe's because she wanted to place her diamond earring in the cement to dot her "I." Of course, they didn't recommend her to do this, but she did anyway. That evening someone was able to chip away at the cement and stole the diamond. The back to the earring is still there.
http://photos-g.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v183/12/63/25002324/n25002324_33419566_9206.jpg
The other great story was about Jimmy Stewart. His print ceremony was scheduled for Friday the 13th and he was proud of it. He made sure to mark that day on his prints. Other stars also had their ceremonies on a Friday the 13th, but actually wrote a different date in the cement because it was bad luck. Jimmy Stewart thought it was good luck!

Our next stop was a visit to the VIP Room, where many celebrities go for a break and privacy. We also were able to exit out of the hidden celebrity door.

Hi Lindsey, glad to see you are back!!! I was away for a little myself, out in DL and had a blast!!! As a matter of fact, loved it so much, I decided to cancel the cruise in Dec. and spend it out West. I totally fell in love with DLR, plus I have always been a huge fan of CA. So going back for 10 days and I am so excited.
Your trip to MA sounds great, who knew they had such cool things to do up there. Dr. Suess is my favorite, after Disney so that tribute was way cool. :goodvibes The Cheers bar was neat too. So neat you got to do all that.

Los Angeles wasn't exactly what I expected and the Hollywood area is small. It's definitely not a beautiful area and it doesn't look like what you see on TV. I am glad I saw the real Los Angeles and there are so many places there that I love to visit. :)

Wicked
I couldn't believe it was our last night in California. :sad1: We would be leaving the hotel the next morning around 10:00 am to catch our flight from LAX to Orlando. We had such a wonderful time in Los Angeles and I am so glad we were able to enjoy the Christmas decorations everywhere.
It was our last night and we were going to have a blast because we were going to finally see "Wicked!" I have been dying to see this Broadway show for years and when I found out it would be in LA while we were there I had to go! I listen to the soundtrack all the time and it is amazing! Carol Kane was also in the production as Madame Morrible. You may remember her from "Taxi" as Latka's wife.

An extra bonus was that "Wicked" was at the famous Pantages Theatre located at Hollywood & Vine.

Thanks for joining my Trippie everyone! I really hoped you enjoyed visiting Cali with me. DH & I had a wonderful time and we are going back in June! We're celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary in Cali and I can't wait!

I was so glad I finally got to see "Wicked!" I had been waiting and waiting for it to come on tour because I wasn't able to see it when I was in NYC. Well, the tour wasn't coming near us until sometime in 2009, so when I saw it was in Cali...I had to be there. It's one of my fav Broadway shows!
I am glad to be going to Cali in the summer because it may actually be warm when I am there, for once! :) We will pretty much be in the same areas...Hollywood, Los Angeles, Universal City, Anaheim, & Burbank. We are making sure to go to Disneyland the first day we get there, but we are going to spend two days at Universal Hollywood, since we have never been. I'm really excited to get to do the tour too! :yay:

I actually bought my "Wicked" tickets online from the theatre's website because it is selling out quickly. I bought them as soon as I could. There are many different seat pricing options.
We actually bought the most affordable seats up in the balcony, so the tickets were not pricey at all. It just depends on how much you want to spend.
I am really hoping I can start writing my mini GF Trippie. It shouldn't be too long, so I should be able to get it done. Maybe I will be able to start on that this weekend! :yay:

You are so lucky that you got to see Wiicked. It is my favorite musical. I have to wait another year and a half before the traveling show comes here to iowa. Defying Gravity is my fav number too and I bet it was just amazing to see live and in that theater. Thanks for your tr it was really great and I can't wait to read your next one.
Thanks so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed my Trippie! :goodvibes
It was amazing to finally see "Wicked" performed live on stage. The music is just so powerful, especially Defying Gravity when Elphaba take flight!

Hi Lindsey, yes, I am becoming quite the CA girl!!!:goodvibes I just love it out there, always have, someday we are hoping to move out that way, but all good things take time. Until then, I 'll just enjoy my visits.
I hope you and DH have a wonderful time in June, I can't wait to read all about it, when we go in Dec. we are going to do more of CA though. We are going to do Legoland, Sea World, Universal, Knott's(maybe) and also DL too. Also we will be spending some time down in Hollywood and Burbank area, we visit our one friend down in the Burbank area. So that is always cool.
I am sure I will love DLR at Christmas, I just hope there isn't too much of a chill in the air, the first night we were there last month there was a chill in the air as you will read soon in my trippie, so I hope it isn't too awful. But can't wait to see all the wonderful Christmas decorations.
Yes my weekend getaway across country will be cool, I am looking forward to it, the "green" event is actually going to be at Universal Studios so we will be in that area.:goodvibes
Can't wait to see your WDW Christmas photos, I am sure as always you have some great shots.:goodvibes

Celebrating the Holidays at Walt Disney World
My family & I celebrated Christmas at Fort Wilderness in one of the cabins. We had an amazing time and I just loved it there! It was the perfect place to enjoy Christmas at WDW!
Here are the pictures I'd like to share from our Christmas Family Vacation!

Wow Lindsey, your FW pictures are awesome so far, can't wait to see more.:goodvibes It looks really pretty there. I might have to tear myself away from DLR one of these times and stay there at Christmas.:rotfl:
Your room looks so cozy with the tree and presents, the towel wreath is adorable, did you keep it?? The bunk beds look great and I bet you did feel like kids again.
Can't wait to hear more and see more pictures, I believe Disney at Christmas it just one of the most magical things. :goodvibes

Hey Lindsey, where did you find a tree like that?? I was really hoping for something small for our room when we go at Christmas but since we aren't staying at a DLR Hotel I knew they wouldn't be able to help, just curious if you have any ideas for me. Thanks a million.:goodvibes

I've been able to get a nice small tree at CVS at times... have one for the office and even sent one to a friend overseas who was stationed with the Army... they usually run between $10 & $20 can be packed well and come with ornaments or you can be like me and pack some of your own...

It was the perfect Christmas spot and a fun place to be with the family. :goodvibes I should have kept the towel wreath, but I didn't. It was nice decorative touch! I had the bottom bunk and I had to be very careful not to hit my head, but it was worth it! :rotfl:

It's amazing how everyone goes ALL OUT for Christmas at FW. It's the best Christmas light show ever! If you are every down in WDW for Christmas again, it is worth a drive thought the RV's and trailers. They’re amazing! It was the highlight of staying at FW for us. It's like being in a WDW Christmas Wonderland. It's even better than the parks' decorations.
The sleigh ride was a lot of fun and a nice thing to do. I think it was over priced, since it is such a short ride. It is fun to be on the sleigh with the jingle bells. :goodvibes

Christmas Style at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
The highlight of our trip for me was going back to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at the MK, but the best part was...I got my brother to go! I asked if he'd want to go and he was all for it! I was going to be a "Pop Princess" again & my brother was going to be a "Cool Dude." We had to get ready for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and that meant we needed Christmas style hair!
The "Cool Dude"

Thanks for your honesty about the price of the sleigh ride. It sounds like a great idea, but with such a short ride, I'm not sure I'll put this tops on my list.

My parents actually went to Hoop-dee-Do back in the 70's and this was their second time back. The songs hadn't changed at all. We got a good laugh out of it because before we saw the show my Mom would sing the songs. We had a lot of fun!

The Final Post
I've come to my final post and it's just going to be a quick look at our last days during our WDW Christmas vacation. Thanks for joining my Cali Christmas Trippie everyone and I'm glad I could share my WDW pics with you too!
We spent two days in Epcot because it's my brother's favorite park! I really wanted my family to try the Garden Grill because it was one of my favorite dining spots during my Honeymoon in June 2006. I was very sad to see that they had changed their menu and it was not as good as it was the first time I went. It's always fun to enjoy your meal with Mickey & the gang!

I just loved our experience with Pluto! During our picture I was kinda stuck next to the wall because we had very litte room. The Garden Grill is a rotating restaurant, so I was kinda moving along and getting pushed against the wall.

I told Pluto this and he had to act out the experience I just had with the moving restuarant. He just stood there and let the restuarant move him away. It was hilarious! :rotfl2:

We spent Christmas Eve at Epcot, so we could enjoy the tree lighting and the Candlelight Processional, two of my favorite Chritmas events. My family had never seen them, so I knew they would just love it! First, we had our Christmas Eve dinner at Biergarten in Germany. It was our first visit there and we were very impressed. It was a lot of fun and they had great food!

We also enjoyed the musical entertainment!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventures! :goodvibes
We went to the Candlelight Processional back on Christmas Eve in 2004 - Gary Sinise was our celebrity reader too - isn't he fabulous? :lovestruc
My pics kinda look the same as yours though, but from a different angle! :guilty: Wish I could take better photos in low light situations. Maybe if I took the time to actually read the instruction manual my night shots would improve!

Lindsey, great end to your great trippie!!!:goodvibes I did Garden Grill back in 06 I believe and I didn't really care for it, it was ok, but I have other favorite character meals. Sounds like both your trips were wonderful, it is sad to see your trippie come to an end. I hope it won't be long until you start another one. :goodvibes
