Paradise Point? Pacific Terrace?

I have begun researching a trip to San Diego. We are a family of 5, so sometimes it is hard to get a decent hotel room. We prefer a suite-type accomodation. We are thinking of going to the Zoo, SeaWorld, Legoland, and I wouldn't mind being on the beach to get the "Cali feel".
Two that I thought looked pretty good for us are the Paradise Point or the Pacific Terrace...but there are some mixed reviews on tripadvisor. Anyone know the hotels and can give me any info? THANKS.

I have not experienced either first hand; however, in June, we will be staying at Paradise Point. My SIL lives in Valencia and this is one of her favorite places to stay. She said her kids love the sand pool and that there are lots of resort activities.

I vote for Pacific Terrace! We've stayed there four times now I think, and the only place we'll consider in San Diego. Right on the ocean. Terrific. Great pool, great views, great landscaping, great free breakfast, and the families that stay there are always, always, always great. :cloud9:

If you have specific questions I'd be happy to answer them, but they have refurbed the hotel and we liked it before they did the refurb!! Now it feels more expensive and upscale and is even better, but I don't think the prices are much different.

We have been on the fence before with trying out the Paradise Point but we don't like to fix what ain't broke so we're sticking with our favorite! I have always felt the reviews on Paradise Point swing much more wildly than the Terrace's.

PS Gotta love the Sombrero snapshot. We get one every time we're in San Diego too!
