What is AirTran like to fly with??

Waiting not so patiently for a good southwest flight for May. Just checked Air Tran which is about $200 cheaper than SW right now for my dates. Should I book or should I try and wait it out?????

I've never flown with AirTran yet but will be doing so in September. For $200 cheaper, my preference would be to book with them. Waiting it out may run the risk of paying much more than already listed.

We have flown them twice and the flights have been on time and no problems with the luggage. Are you flying from Buffalo, they do only have 1 direct flight a day? I wish I had looked into Rochester for our March flight as they have more direct flights and better times, but it is still much better than flying from Toronto.

As you will read they do change flight times, if you are going from Buffalo the 3:00 direct flight seems to stay around that time, but the return flights have changed quite a bit, so if you need specific times you might be better to look at other options. When I first booked the flights the return flight was at noon, which would have been perfect, but it is now 8:45 AM I am sure my kids are going to love getting up at 5:00 AM on the last day of vaction, but I want a direct flight.

We've flown with air tran the last 2 trips - once from Rochester and once from Buffalo - no problems either time - great service and love the option to upgrade to buis. class at the airport if it's available!

We flew AirTran return from Buf to MCO this past New Years. Went off without a hitch. Everything was on time. For $5 per person each way you can reserve specific seat assignments when booking online. They are currently doing an upgrade promotion for all fares. We were offered upgraded seats in business class for $60 per person each way. We declined since our plane was a 2 + 3 layout and my wife and I were sitting in a row of 2. Unlike Southwest you get radio and headphones.
