Does anyone know if there is more than just 1 bus stop at the Lodge? I've heard that the resort is enormous and can be quite a haul from your room to the lobby!

There is one bus stop with five stations. It is right in front of the lodge. Its a breeze to get there. No problem.

On our safari this past winter our guide took us deep into the bush - down the far reaches of the legendary Kudu Trail. The trek down the trail past the 4 'villages' (sections of rooms :-) between our campsite and modern-day transportation (buses) was quite a journey, but did present us with many sights and sounds that we would have otherwise missed: glimpses of rare and endangered creatures (there are 8 viewing areas along the way), native handicrafts (there are many display cases and wall hangings along the way), and exciting tribal rhythms to name a few.

OK, enough silliness - walking slowly it took about 10 minutes to get from our room at the far end of the Kudu Trail to the bus stop!

:D :D I was believing you at first. LOL I stayed at AKL on the Kudo Trail, and I don't remember the bush and villages. Duh

It can be a walk, tho, to the main lobby and resturants, but it is all inside corridors, with viewing windows along the way to see the animals. Not a bit boring.

I agree with the previous posters, the walk from Kudu Trail to the bus stop is a rather long one, it was also quite a walk to the pool & food court. We really didn't mind though. AKL is beautiful and we always enjoyed the walk. I like their bus stop because it has seperate waiting areas for each park. At the Poly everyone lines up in one area, and it is a mess when the busses come because you never know who is getting on. If you have small children, or a hard time walking then I might try to get a room closer to the lobby. Enjoy your stay!!
